Reviews for Comfort Hôtel Cambrai

Review 1:The hotel room had not been cleaned by the time we returned to our room at 5pm. The old towels had been removed but not replaced with clean ones. The door to our room was wide open for anyone to enter. I do not know for how long.

Review 2:There is not really much to recommend this hotel. It was cheapish but not really cheerful. I would not recommend this hotel or wish to stay there again.

Review 3:Needs new towels as they were a bit thin.

Review 4:Perfect for a night stop on our motorcycles. Good road access and a short stroll to a Restaurant. Had a bar and breakfast facilities.

Review 5:run down, no smoking signs everywhere but it stunk of cigarettes, no smoke alarms in room. had to buy an air freshener.towels were small and thread bare, room not made up on last day. breakfast, take your own.

Review 6:the price and location

Review 7:Nowhere to leave your room key if you have an early start

Review 8:Clean and comfortable. No restaurant but breakfast available which we didn't have as we left very early in the morning.

Review 9:poor towels dingy ,no room service not cleaned bed not made lack of staff, plastic cups exterior needs much maintenance, could be unsafe

Review 10:location hot water

Review 11:the shower waste diid not clear whilst showering, kettle came on but water was only lukewarm when it switched off so we could not make any drinks, tv did not work, breakfast was very sparse with only cheese available and no cold meats which is one of the main parts of a continental breakfast.

Review 12:the hotel was located very well for access to Cambrai

Review 13:Not really a bad experience but a big group of cyclists got down to breakfast just before me and hovered up most of the food. It took a while to replenish.

Review 14:Convenient and easy to find, good safe parking and efficient check in.

Review 15:Receptionist could not find my booking. I could not speak much French and she not much English. She did give us the two rooms we requested, but not sure if this was because she found our booking or they were not full?

Review 16:Close to main roads

Review 17:You changed the name from Campanille to Comfort, the Road signs are still Campanille so its virtually impossible to find unless you know this??? The room was dirty, the bed had dirty sheets and towels and we were falsely duped into staying at a Campanille that turned out to be a Comfort hotel? Very incorrect!!!

Review 18:Pleasant Staff

Review 19:There is no way this hotel is three star rated hotel!! No way! Hotel needed some tender love & care. Receptionist needed course in customer relations. Meals extremely poor. Would not recommend.

Review 20:Not much

Review 21:Couldn't get wifi. Bath is not good for a disabled person. A walk in shower would be more user friendly. Beds too high for disabled person.

Review 22:Friendly member of staff. Menu limited but good value for the money.

Review 23:I felt the place appeared a little run down, needed a bit of TLC.

Review 24:As a motorcyclist it was excellent, as the bike could be parked outside your front door where I felt it was safe.

Review 25:Most things

Review 26:First rooms on ground floor felt damp they did move us when we asked just felt that the photos and description on booking . Com where not a true picture of this place

Review 27:room smelt stale from tobacco, breakfast was meagre and not fresh. Hotel is tired and run down. Also it was difficult to find as there was no clear signage. We drove past 4 times before we found it

Review 28:Good bed

Review 29:No wi-fi in room. Television poor reception Eurosport .

Review 30:It was value for money, we have stayed in campanile motels before so we knew what to expect. Loved to tea tray, bath room ok. Bed and mattress good.

Review 31:Tatty, needs revamp, damp smell. did not encourage me to stay longer (other family with 3yr old left early as unsafe wirering) Was not at all nice and would not consider eating there nor returning.

Review 32:local to town

Review 33:This is a former Campanile Hotel that has been taken over but has yet tobe refurbished. There was no sign (we only got there by asking atanother local hotel) the supper was, quite simply, awful, and there wereobvious signs - leak stains eg, that the building was in a pretty badstate. This was very unfortunate, as the staff were fine, but whateverthe franchise arrangements are, they are up against it.

Review 34:Not much, I'm afraid. The breakfast was ok and it was quite quiet, but overall not a good experience.

Review 35:Everything. The hotel, the rooms, the staff, the garden, the flowers, the owner Philippe, the restaurant. Totally faultless. It was an ideal location for our visit to the Commonwealth War Cemetery at St. Aubert.

Review 36:Finding the place was infuriating. Drove around the immediate area for an age before resorting to asking locals. Only found the place when it was described as "an unmarked building" which enabled us to stumble upon it (must have driven past it 5 times!). Put a name on the front of the building and install some ruddy signposts!!!!

Review 37:The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Wifi worked reasonably well. Car parking available.

Review 38:Felt it was not particularly clean, small dead insects on curtains, did not eat, preferred to go elsewhere, seemed as if everyone else was making the same decision.

Review 39:Nothing

Review 40:Apparently this is a new business of an older motel. There were no signs to indicate the motel, nor a street number making it difficult to find even with a GPS.

Review 41:The staff was pleasant.

Review 42:Room not cleaned after first night. Towels small and threadbare. No face cloth. Black mold in showers. No curtain in window of ground floor room overlooking parking lot.

Review 43:Friendly pleasant staff Matresses, TV, Wifi good.

Review 44:Value for money

Review 45:It was a shame that there was no wi-fi and the heaters didn't work.

Review 46:Cleanliness and size of the room

Review 47:The walls a re very thin and the guests above were noisy - as reception closes at 11:00pm you can't complain easily!

Review 48:Location to motorway network.

Review 49:Towels were poor quality and few in number. Hotel is a bit tatty and needs a bit of TLC.

Review 50:Modest price, quiet location, close to major roads.

Review 51:location, suited our needs

Review 52:Blood on the bed covering and god knows what under the mattress pad.

Review 53:I complained in the morning and got my money refunded.

Review 54:Hotel generally needs renovation but did not interfere or influence with short stay

Review 55:Good shower, good bed.

Review 56:It was much better when it was a campanille

Review 57:Room was hard to get warm. You need proper cups to make hot dtrinks in.

Review 58:Good location and price

Review 59:the restaurant was poor ,lack of choice ,staff seemed very basic and lacked attention to detail in their work

Review 60:the room was heated well and comfortable

Review 61:The breakfast was appalling

Review 62:Wi fi was unobtainable

Review 63:Room was basic but clean and shower was excellent. Good breakfast.

Review 64:Difficult to find Poor sign posting

Review 65:Clean Inexpensive Location

Review 66:We stayed one night. Suited our purpose fine.

Review 67:There are no comments available for this review

Review 68:Hard to find even though on main road, floor was dirty

Review 69:Bed was comfortable, linen clean

Review 70:WiFi not available in our room

Review 71:Poor cleanliness, and grumpy receptionist.

Review 72:None

Review 73:Receptionist didn´t (want) to speak English. Tattered worn towers. Sleazy feeling... Invest 20€ extra and make it over the border.

Review 74:We have stayed in well over 15 different hotels while travelling around Europe for a month. This hotel was easily the worst. No street number supplied in email from booking.com and we drove around for an hour looking for the place. Rang hotel to get a street number and GPS still couldn't find it. The way we did find it was to get our GPS to search for the Campanile hotel which according to our GPS is nearby. It turned out that this is the same hotel but there isn't a sign outside the place to identify either hotel. We saw what looked like another guest driving around in frustration as well before apparently giving up and driving off. Very frustrating. Wifi in room was lousy and not useable. Shower had mould around it and floor around toilet looked unclean. Noisy around rooms. Maybe the walls are thin. The electric jug mains cord has been broken at some stage. It has been reconnected using a connecting block which has exposed screws within the block. Dodgy to say the least. Bird poop all over the walkways to the rooms. Paint peeling off the railings and the place needs a darned good tidy up.

Review 75:Coffee and tea making facilities. Price was good but upon reflection we would have preferred to spend a bit more to get a bit more.

Review 76:Hotel overdue a refurbishment. Air conditioning was old, noisy and not too effective.

Review 77:Clean and comfortable room. Relatively quiet and close to main roads for exploration.

Review 78:Room smelt of cigarette smoke and the bath was barely bigger than a regular size shower tray! I was told that all baths and bathrooms were the same, when I went back to query this with the person who had checked us in. The single bar heater in the bathroom was on a timer switch and stayed on for 2minutes at the most! One broken bedside lamp which when notified to reception on checkout did not appear to come as a surprise although she made a note about it on her records.

Review 79:Convenient as near access to A2 motorway, fuel station and supermarket. Comfortable double bed.

Review 80:We booked 2 x triple rooms but they were not ready for us, however the staff were very obliging and arranged for the 3rd beds to be installed .

Review 81:Location

Review 82:Walls are "paper thin". Felt like I was in a porn movie due to the loud sex next door and I could even hear my opposite neighbor "shaving" in the morning! Why HAVE walls at all?!? They really don't work.

Review 83:Very clean hotel.

Review 84:It is an ex Camponile and looking tied but it is comfortable, welcoming and good value.

Review 85:Convenient, good price and even though close to road it did not disturb sleep.

Review 86:We booked on line. We were not informed that the hotel had changed its name. As a result, after a long days drive, it took us an hour to find the hotel. The receptionist was totally unconcerned about this inconvenience.

Review 87:Our room on eway back from Germany had a dodgy toilet ! Rattled a bit !

Review 88:We were very pleased with our stay. The room and restaurant facility was excellant and it provided us with a good rest for our ongoing journey. Thankyou

Review 89:When we checked in a painter was painting the outside of our room. Thesmell of paint lingered all night. To be fair thijs hotel needs to havea lot of money spent on it and out of the 3 that we stayed aat in thelast 2 weeks was definitely the worst. The hotel was full and atbreakfast it was one big mad scramble

Review 90:Travelling with a wheelchair bound person always presents difficulties but the bathroom, although not the bath, was accessible and the bed comfortable. A basic, but clean hotel, with the added bonus of an onsite restaurant.

Review 91:The hotel is, to put it politely, very tired. It would probably pay a dividend to pull it down, and put on the footprint a new build. The net curtains were filthy, the double glazing had been amateurishly reputtied, and there was old chewing gum on the floor. My wife and I did not dare shower as it all looked so dirty. The emergency lighting outside our door was broken. The litter bins were overflowing and not touched during our stay, The concrete flooring at the top of the staircase had spawled and was like loose rubble. How they can charge 14 EUROS 50 for a slice of rubber duck hidden under a mass of frites is beyond belief. It was arelief to drive to the Novotel Suite in Calais and have a shower.

Review 92:TV not working

Review 93:Good localisation only 30 minutes to the station. Good comfort too.

Review 94:Very warm white wine! One 15 euro menu of disgusting food

Review 95:The Italian coffee

Review 96:very basic

Review 98:Looking faded.

Review 99:Simple overnight accommodation without frills.Everything worked.

Review 100:no english news tv

Review 105:Bathroom in need of refurbishment - door didn't close properly

Review 106:Friendly helpful staff Good breakfast

Review 107:One of the worst hotels we've ever stayed in; dirty, old and damp. We'll never stay in a Campanile again.

Review 108:Scruffy and tired.

Review 109:Room and exterier of building tired and in need of refurbishment.

Review 110:Ease of access and convenience.
