Reviews for Hôtel de la Gare

Review 1:The owner seemed very suspicious of me, like I was a terrorist or something. The plumbing in the bathroom made lots of noise all night. The room was a bit dirty too.

Review 2:Great location, right next to the railway station, good price too.

Review 3:Too far from centre. Noisy neighbourhood at night. Hotel could do with a few towel rails

Review 4:Family run hotel was friendly and it was over the road from the station

Review 5:The only weakness - other than the rudimentary breakfast - was the fact that a single bath-towel was provided for us both, apparently for three days unchanged as it hung there wet. When I asked for more the Manager was slow to respond but very apologetic, blaming himself; and he offered us a drink by way of compensation in a most hospitable manner.

Review 6:We were happy with the location, which suited us as we travel by rail and bus: it is opposite the station. We did not mind the rather dull walk along Gambetta to the Centre Ville, which we undertook a good many times. The Manager and his staff were most obliging, ever-present and answered all our needs - eventually. We also enjoyed the party that took place outside our window on the last night - a local district celebration. Good fun to watch - and the windows were triple-glazed if it seemed too loud.

Review 7:I travelled on my own and I do not speak a word of English, the couple who run the hotel used google translate to help me, and we communicated through that. They were really really helpful. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfy and the shower was powerful, not like the usual ones that dribble out. The beer was cheap in the hotel too. Would definitely stay again, and would recommend to everyone. It's right opposite the train station too so you can't miss it.

Review 8:Excellent value for money. Friendly staff.
