Reviews for Bredbury Hall Hotel
Review 1:The bathroom door was too big for the door frame and could not be closed. I did make the staff aware of this but said we were happy to stay in that room. Seems strange that it had not been noted before and guests were checked in to that room.
Review 2:The whole experience was great. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Our bed was very comfortable and the towels huge and fluffy. The shower was one of the best hotel showers we've ever had. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice and very tasty. The waiting staff at breakfast were very attentive without being obtrusive.
Review 3:Comfortable and good size room. Clean and and well equipped bathroom, The towels were exceptionally nice and soft. We did not dine, but we had breakfast and it was catered at a high standard. Well set tables. Very pleasant grounds and garden. I would visit there again and would recommend it to anyone else.
Review 4:We came to the hotel for a business meeting on the Monday. It was on a quieter night then usual but the staff were really warm, attentive and kept me company whilst I waited for the other team members to arrive, we had a laugh with them. When I work in/near Manchester in the future I would 100% choose to stay there again.
Review 5:No buffet hot breakfast however hot food was served and was nice Bar bill changed a couple of times even though the round was the same? Room was a little old fashioned
Review 6:Good value for the price Nice view from room Bed comfortable
Review 7:Breakfast was a slight disappointment
Review 8:We stayed over Christmas to visit family The staff were very helpful and efficient We asked for an extra easy chair in our room and one was produced immediately Evening light buffet on Christmas day was a pleasant surprise
Review 9:The room (carpets) were a little dirty and particular the glasses in the bathroom (very soiled with old toothpaste it seemed).
Review 10:The staff, comfortable bed, brasserie food and generally the look of the hotel were all very good. We weren't there on a 'club night' so it was also very peaceful.
Review 11:I do wish hotels would trust their guests and not fit waterproof under-sheets. They make the beds a bit hot and sweaty.
Review 12:Peaceful rural location just minutes from Stockport centre. Spacious room. Quiet in the room even though there was a post-wedding disco in full swing in one of function rooms. It was far enough away not to trouble us. Pleasant view overlooking stream and parkland.
Review 13:The snooker tables back as we planned an afternoon of snooker which left us nothing to do It's a good job I had my iPad else we would of been very board :(
Review 14:The only think I would say is cleanliness of bathroom, along the door frame, near handles where people often push and pull just seemed very grubby. Other than that it was all good. Staff were friendly welcoming, with exception of breakfast time. The 'head waiter' at breakfast seemed a little 'cocky' for want of a better word and not at all customer focused.
Review 15:Check-in and out was well received, good customer attention paid, the young lady in the leg cast checked us in and out. Room location was good and room size excellent. Staff were friendly welcoming, with exception of breakfast time. The 'head waiter' at breakfast seemed a little 'cocky' for want of a better word and not at all customer focused.
Review 16:The fact that 'upstairs' in the club and a section by the dance floor has now been 'reserved ' for corporate clients. The beauty of the club was that you used to be able to 'wander in and amongst the beams and quitter areas.
Review 17:The experience that is Bredbury Hall. The Rooms the tunnel through to the club ....the club itself or what parts of it you are allowed to enter !!
Review 18:Trays containing dirty plates/cutlery left in hall way for 8 hours, terrible bar service in club, non functioning phone in room, poor quality breakfast.
Review 19:Nice staff
Review 20:Despite staying here at least twice a year for the last 10 years or so, staff are oblivious to this and unhelpful in offering single occupancy park & stay rates problem with staff attitudes. First time we stayed on a Sat - never again by choice. Noise from neighbouring room terrible between 2am - 5am. cleaning could be better.
Review 21:Great car parking for Manchester Airport
Review 22:A lovely room that was out the way and very quiet. Very clean. Staff very friendly and professional have stayed 5 times this year and had a very pleasant stay every time.
Review 23:the attitude of the lady who was a manager who came to the room firstly.
Review 24:When I arrived our room was not ready, therfore there was 4 women sat around waiting for there room. Yes I want to thank Mark for been understanding and a discount was giving on the room but the women who I met in the corridor who rudely said" oh it's only a bit of make up" needs to complete some customer service training. I have visited the hotel more than 7 times and felt we should have been dealt with differently.
Review 25:Noisy people running and banging down the corridor at all hours so didn't get much sleep very noisy to be honest
Review 26:Rooms are spacious and clean there was also good amenities at the hotel
Review 27:just one thing my son missed was a hot chocolate for bed time :-) but he did survive
Review 28:staff friendly, comfortable rooms well equipped breakfast really good.
Review 29:This is the fourth time I've been there. The hotel, lands and rooms are excellent. The decor of the rooms is lovely. We had a three course meal and it was one of the best meals we've ever the had. We had great fun in the club attached.
Review 30:Fire alarms went off for over an hour from 4am & staff were unable to switch off - awaiting reply to email requesting compensation
Review 31:We love the club , it was Halloween so there was a great atmosphere . The upgrades to the bar and reception area are impressive , hope when everywhere is upgraded this doesn't put it out of our price range.
Review 32:some drunken idiot deciding to set off the fire alarms at 4-00 am keeping all the hotel up
Review 33:food in restaurant was very good and the new bar / reception area is much improved
Review 34:The room was not worth the £100 a night we paid. It was dirty, the bed rock hard, only 1 coffee and milk left in the room, the tea packets had been opened, the inside of kettle disgusting. The headboard was stained, laminated tops of the `wooden` furniture bubbled and poorly maintained, 1 chair provided.
Review 35:Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 36:It was only after the 5th time of having my card declined at check in, that another member of staff appeared to inform the reception staff that, that particular card machine was faulty and not to use it !!..... Frustrating ! Later on in the evening, I attempted to order a couple of Gin and Tonics from room service..... I rang (and rang) without answer.....I went myself to the bar only to be told that (after a couple of mins looking) they had no Tonic.....then they had no ice either !?........ Very POOR.
Review 37:Not a lot after all the negatives......The room was spacious, bath was a good size...
Review 38:The first room we were given , had mould on room walls , was not in a clean condition No shower curtain , shower didn't work properly Dining room waitress who removed breakfast plate before I had finished Out of date yoghurts.
Review 39:Staff very helpful and friendly Promptness of manager who dealt with our complaint and had us moved to a refurbished room
Review 40:The music in the club. Being attached to a hotel means varied age groups make use of the night club, however, the DJ only catered for the very young end.
Review 41:The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the food is excellent as are the staff.
Review 42:The rooms are very dated, the phones didn't work so I ordered room service at reception which then took over an hour and a half to arrive but I wasnt charged as a result of this. The salad I ordered was not good. I wouldn't normally make an issue of this but the cost of a nights stay is high- I stayed in a Hilton in central birmingham for the same price two weeks ago. If I had paid say £50 a night I wouldn't have expected more than what was offered.
Review 43:The staff were extremely quick to act when something wasn't right and very apologetic. Every member of staff I came across seemed very keen to please.
Review 44:Refurbishment going on at present Original room had plumbing problems & had to change room at 3am!
Review 45:Night staff were fast to move me and assisted with luggage Restaurant food was very good
Review 46:On way to club some what got pounced on by bouncer about wrist band as it was hidden by jacket cuff. my attire, as seems Shiney shoes and full button shirt and suit pants only aloud in club. Left stale taste In my mind for the rest of the night. Treat like an 18 year old on night out in pretentious Leeds. Staff at bar seemed not to know how to break a smile either. Seems it better to book a table if one wants to eat there. Night time dress code not know. About until arrival at hotel. Most of the above could be sent to customer in booking email information so one didn't feel like a an outsider.
Review 47:Good spacious rooms. Attractive grounds. Excellent restaurant. Excellent breakfast.
Review 48:You were under taking some refurbishment which I appreciate needs to happen from time to time and I still would have booked if id know but the fact I was not informed on booking annoyed me and my friends.
Review 49:I like the fact that you have it all in one place. Nice bar with food, sport on the tv, snooker tables and ila night club for in the evening.
Review 50:BUT.......The place is undergoing a big refurbishment so the main bar, function room was closed so we had to go else where in the day until the club opened... Would have been nice to know as we arrived at 2-30pm
Review 51:Breakfast was a bit ordinary. A buffet is fine but eggs should be cooked fresh and not left piled on a plate to get cold and tinned mushrooms - yuk! Someone smoking on the balcony below us every few hours wafting up into our window(not the hotel's fault)
Review 52:The room was very clean , beds comfortable, staff couldn't have been more helpful. My 13 year old loved it. It was Sat night and we didn't hear any noise from nightclub but we did request the room furthest away.
Review 53:The staff was extremely rude, the night club is nothing like it was last time we stayed their. The night bar after nightclub entertainment is no longer on neither is the hot beef sandwiches. Very disappointed compared to our first visits.
Review 54:The hotels rooms and the hotel it's self was lovely
Review 55:I asked for a quiet room and was given a room directly over the gym with thudding sound from what I presume was a treadmill. Overall the hotel appears tired with threadbare carpets and could do with refurbishment.
Review 56:Food in the restaurant was very good.
Review 57:Rooms very dated. Drinks within the hotel and nightclub very expensive. The young men behind the bar need to practise on cocktails. And weren't nice at all. A friend had an allergic reaction to either the bed or shower gel. Had to take a couple of days off work. Laundry Lady helpful with handing over washing ingredients!
Review 58:Rooms were big but very dated. Staff very polite and helpful. Nightclub on the door step.
Review 59:We were not told when booking that the main bar area was closed due to refurbishment and the smaller bar was packed in the evening. Having enjoyed several lovely nights in the restaurant previously we could see evidence of cost cutting. The set menu options now have the cheaper cuts of meats and fish and the main meal portion sizes appear smaller now. The 3 course cost of £24.50 does seem less value for money than it did 12 months ago! The restaurant was much noisier than usual as a result of there being many more hen parties.
Review 60:Nice large room with large comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast Restaurant has a lovely ambiance with the pianist providing a lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Review 61:No lifts Small Double bed in a king size room Mattress, pillows poor Lack of counter space in bathroom Nowhere to put toiletries in the very big shower No bath in a massive bathroom Thin walls Drunken stag and Hen parties disturbing guests in bed at 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am Security escorting guests from their rooms No spa Old fashioned decor No air con Stag walking around the hotel practically naked only covering his penis!
Review 62:Restaurant food Nightclub
Review 63:We booked a king room but was given a normal double. We also requested rooms next to each other and were told we had them on arrival. When we got to the rooms they were at opposite ends of the corridor. We went down to speak to reception and were told they didn't have king rooms and booking.com were advertising the Wrong info and that they were having problems with the company . They also told us they had no rooms available together . Yet later we I overheard someone else complaining they weren't together and they were moved straight away .
Review 64:The rooms are good and start pleasant and helpful
Review 65:Badly stained room. Unsightly brown marks on the phone, walls, tv remote furnitureand more. The bar is open until 4 am and the weekend lends itself to stag and hen parties. Running in the coridor until early hours and alot of shouting.
Review 66:Very helpful staff
Review 67:I'm not so sure I would of booked knowing that the bar area was being renovated. I understand it has to be done and will be better once done but with it being shut and the temporary bar only small I think I would of waited until it was done if I would of known
Review 68:Reception staff were fantastic and very helpful as was the young lady who booked outlet VIP table in the club, she could not do enough for us
Review 69:The hotel rooms are shabby and in need of a desparate update. The bouncers are egotistical and think that they can speak to people however they want. I witnessed some dreadful unprovoked nastiness from them - just because they are door staff doesn't mean they have the right (or the power that they seem to think they have) to treat people badly. it gives the profession a bad name.
Review 70:A bit of hiccups with room cleaning. Had to.move room as the one all located wasn't properly cleaned following last occupation. Situation efficiently dealt with
Review 71:Slightly hideous but grand. Rooms are big and very accommodating. In-house facilities makes it a fun place for relaxation.
Review 72:Pillows were too soft. There was a party in the hotel and guests were wandering the corridors during the early hours of the morning e.g 04.00am to 05.30 am and they were very loud. Unable to get a good night sleep. Will not recommend to business and colleagues. Did not enjoy staying. Could hear everything.
Review 73:Location and surrounding gardens
Review 74:The staff were really friendly and the ones in the restaurant could not do enough to ensure you enjoyed the experience. Although the hotel could do with the refurbishment (which starts in October) the manner of the staff more than made up for the slightly shabby state of the hotel overall
Review 75:Carpet a bit grotty. Noisy hum in building throughout night despite being far away from nightclub area. Receptionist asked same questions multiple times when checking me in.
Review 76:Comfortable bed, lots of space.
Review 77:Mattress a little too hard
Review 78:Three 50 year old blokes on a 2 day leisure break. Highly recommend a stay here. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms large and clean. Location ideal, 5 minute drive to the go-karting centre and 30 minute drive to Haydock park races. Hotel has everything you need for a relaxing stay and having its own nightclub means once the night is over it's a two minute walk back to your room.
Review 79:I was to keen on breakfast. But in no way was it bad. I would like it cooked on order. Rather then all laid out. Oh and the glasses are way to small.
Review 80:Liked it all. In fact I'm trying to change the rout on my next trip to stop over again
Review 81:Very noisy at night through to early morning both from outside with bouncers shouting and the corridors with drunken guests shouting and banging.
Review 82:Nice grounds and surroundings particularly the pond and the fish. Reception staff were friendly.
Review 83:Ummmm. Room and bathroom in desperate need of a refurb. Very hot cannot believe a hotel of this standard not having aircon. Brown ( suspect ) marks in the room info folder, remote heavily marked ; telephone ,carpets comfy chair all marked with brown smears No pen or note paper either. Bredbury Hall seem encourage stag and hen night with a bar open till 04:30 so don't expect a quite night.
Review 84:Staff and the quality of food served at Bredbury Hall , PERFECT . Good wine list too
Review 85:Just too noises up all night with people screaming and shouting from the club and the bar. Running up and down the corridors, smoking just outside the rooms, awful experience to be. Taxis coming all night, didn't quieten down until 4 or 5 am
Review 86:Nice staff, nice room and decent location
Review 87:Rooms were very hot but leaving the windows open helped.
Review 88:This was my 3rd stay with 5 friends. We booked 3 king size rooms which were all clean & spacious. The breakfast was great with plenty to choose from and they make your toast fresh once you sit down. Staff were friendly even when we asked to move rooms as we all wanted one closer to the ground floor. Never had any trouble in the club or with the door men who were polite throughout our stay. I'd say this is more of a party hotel at the weekend which is why we went but won't be suitable for others due to the noise at night.
Review 89:changed management not as friendly as it used to be. not good room service, and the management team not so helpful.
Review 90:Good entertainment and the night club. convenient if you are staying in one place. Ok when you are with friends.
Review 91:To many rules & regulations for a hotel and these should be pointed out to you at time of booking so you can decide if you want this. The attidude of the staff was very bad, particularly the security staff, they were very abrupt and rude. Also the fact that you are not allowed to take in your own drinks to your room. If you book a room in a hotel its up to you what you take in, you are paying for it.
Review 92:The room, Breakfast, Nightclub
Review 93:Not a major issue but was a little disappointed that the upstairs part of the club was closed off.
Review 94:Loved it but can't wait to go back after the refurb!
Review 95:Some areas looked tired and sound insulation in the rooms was poor. Heard many conversations overnight which interrupted sleep.
Review 96:Restaurant & reception staff were great!
Review 97:only one unappealing option for my vegetarian colleague and no attempt to help with anything else. Breakfast service lackadaisical.
Review 98:Nicely presented. Was amusing to hear its reputation from local colleagues as a pick up spot for lonely business travelers and a messy hot spot on weekends... I never saw any evidence of this though!
Review 99:The breakfast was a let down. Although the choice was pentiful the only thing hot was the coffee. The full English was only just warm, event hw freshly replenished eggs were almost cold.
Review 100:We enjoyed our stay in an excellent room and an evening in the nightclub. Beef barms at 2.00 am are always welcome.
Review 101:Good location. Excellent food in restaurant. Very good waiting on staff just like the good old days. Great traditional decor with a lot of charm. Can recommend a Sunday visit to the restaurant with a good choice of freshly prepared food.
Review 102:Although there is Wifi the connection was very poor and pretty unusable, so if you want to access the internet you will be out of luck...
Review 103:Lovely setting, friendly staff, comfortable and spacious room with good facilities, very nice food
Review 104:It was all fine for one night before heading to the airport but we did think the bar area could be more welcoming and less barn-like.
Review 105:Spacious room, nice staff, good breakfast, and plenty of parking.
Review 106:Rooms dated, stag and hen do's banging on doors at 3.00am. Would be better to section off a part of the hotel for them. Looks impressive when you drive up but the dated interior lets it down.
Review 107:breakfast was lovely
Review 108:Food extremely over priced for a bland poor offering. Asked for toast 3 times at breakfast and still didn't arrive, asked for a second cup of coffee twice and didn't arrive.
Review 109:Breakfast was very disorganised No cutlery on the table No one asked if we wanted tea, coffee or toast Long wait for breakfast options trays to be filled Rooms were really tired and in desperate need of refurb
Review 110:Breakfast was tasty
Review 111:Understand Breakfast can be busy, however it was very unorganised as people were walking past the queue and we were waiting a while for coffee and tea whilst also dirty plates were on the table for over 10 minutes. more staff required! the rooms still seem very dated too
Review 112:We attended a wedding and that side of it was run really well
Review 113:The hotel was stuffed with noisy drunks that did not care about anyone. We were kept awake from 3.00 am until we left at 8.00. We were told that some guests had been removed from the premises.
Review 114:The staff tried to be helpful and did what they could.
Review 115:The leaflets in our room claimed we could receive all freeview channels plus sky sports on the tv. However all we could get were 4 bbc channels. I contacted reception on the second day and one of the came to our room but was unable to achieve any more channels. We were only able to book for three days although we didn't really want more than two days and on the third night ( Friday) there was a function on and the noise from about 10.30pm until 5.00am was horrendous with people arguing and shouting in the corridor and outside. Also there was no shower curtain in the bathroom and once the bathroom floor got flooded. Horrible place to stay.
Review 116:Staff were courteous and the room clean which were the only redeeming things about our stay.
Review 117:Even though we were a resident we were unable to purchase a drink after 4am! Not a big deal though
Review 118:Upon our arrival we were greeted by Ian and Harry..... This was a great start to our stay. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming. The high standards were extremely great value for the monies paid...... Thanks especially to Ian for the conversation Phil
Review 119:A long way to go to meet the standards of some places I have stayed in the Manchester area. The decor is extremely tired and disappointing unless you are allocated a "refurbished" room which I was very surprised I wasn't on one of the quietest days of the week. I would have thought the hotel would have wanted to sell their best rooms first??? Dinner was lovely when it eventually arrived, but sadly breakfast looked like it had been sat on the plate for some time. Very disappointing.
Review 120:Friendly staff
Review 121:Wasn't crazy about food but it wasn't too bad just personal taste. Wifi a bit slow.
Review 122:Hotel and grounds are beautiful. Room was very spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 123:worst hotel ever. Rude and prejudiced staff, greasy poor quality food more typical of a burger van, bar staff extremely abrupt. Droves of inebriated chavs roaming the corridors. more rules than a concentration camp, which the chavs simply ignored. totally dreadful
Review 124:leaving
Review 125:Breakfast was luke warm and seemed to have been sitting for a while so tasted a bit rubbery and hard
Review 126:Staff unbelievably helpful, smart and courteous Room comfortable, clean and great value for money, bed extremely comfortable More than enough parking Shower amazing and plenty of hot water
Review 127:The food was awful. Silver service was given for substandard food, they would have done better going to M&S and re-heating. Very poor
Review 128:The room was fantastic
Review 129:Meal on Friday night dress code, collared shirts - bit crazy when its a 3 star hotel, with a nightclub attached. 3 people in our party one aged 16 and with his parents all had to borrow shirts.
Review 130:I did like the old world charm of the rooms. we stayed in the treasury. just need a bit of TLC. don't go all modern though, just a bit of attention to detail etc.
Review 131:The bed in room 112 was very poor, The disabled access was none existence, had to ask someone to put out ramps all the time were ever you went to, no disabled toilet downstairs in the bar area, only in the Cherry suite upstairs, that needs seeing too.
Review 132:Overall it was fab, I found your Staff to be great, especially Mrs Jean Jones on reception and Rob one of the lads who helped my disabled friend, when ever she needed him, so thanks for that
Review 133:Our bed was very hard although other guests didn't seem to have the same problem
Review 134:The hotel had a lovely warm, relaxing feel. The rooms were very spacecous. Had an iron and ironing board which is great. Room was decorated lovely. Friendly staff
Review 135:we visited as a couple and went into the night club had a great time but it was full of stag and hens which dampened the experience somewhat.
Review 136:Rooms very spacious, clean and well maintained.
Review 137:No serving spoons with vegetables Floor in restaurant not spotless Not enough towels in the bathroom- when arrived only 2, next day 3
Review 138:Quiet room The grounds Breakfast Evening meal Service Real tablecloths Real flowers on each table
Review 139:I was refused entry to the restraint for wearing a collared polo shirt and told to go to Tesco superstore and buy a £5.00 formal shirt unbelievable when doormen surrounded me if front of customers
Review 140:nothing
