Reviews for Toison D'or

Review 1:mosquitos a pain ,bitten a lot ,no lights to see your way in the dark near and around our apartment very dark, could not enjoy sitting on our patio due to mosquitos

Review 2:close to beach and deck chairs included beautiful gardens stunning plants and close to St Trop

Review 3:The cabana we rented smelled too much like cigarettes, and didn't have any mechanism that prevented mosquitoes from lingering in the rental. It was uncomfortable.

Review 4:The beach Was lovely.

Review 5:The bed bugs!!!!

Review 6:When we arrived we were put in the furthest spot from the beach even tho I paid the higher price and requested easy access because my mother had a hard time walking. We had no linens, towels, toilet paper and no pillow cases. I tried working with booking.com because the staff did not want to help. Once I called booking.com then they started to help. In the end, we left a day early. Thank God because we ended up getting bit up by bed bugs. I can post the pictures if needed. It is really far out of town and will cost around 40 euro each way. The staff at the Italian restaurant are great though. This is a campground....very disappointed....

Review 7:- the house was a bit narrow for 3 adults - WiFi connection was not very stable - too few electrical sockets

Review 8:- very good and clean beach - good supermakret on site - a lot of activities available - a lot of greenery around the houses, very cosy artificial landscape

Review 9:They should help a bit with the cleaning of the bangaloo or provide all the cleaning essentials. Internet overpriced.. It should be free. Children play area limited in resources.

Review 10:Location and facilities. Also has its own bakery.. fresh bread always! Very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful beach 3 minutes walk distant.

Review 11:Excellent location close to the beach with good car access to St Tropez, Port Grimaud etc. Good to have a shop on site. Didn't use pool but it looked very nice. Beach was excellent. Accommodation was functional but very clean and comfortable. Generally very quiet considering how many other people there must have been staying there. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 12:Mosquitos, please add fly screens to the windows and you may save a fortune on electricity for air-conditioners. very small rooms but to be expected for the price

Review 13:fantastic location and value

Review 14:It is a paradise for mosquitos. My younger daughter and I were badly bitten and waken up by mosquitos at 4 a.m.

Review 15:Location. It is relatively close to St. Tropez.

Review 16:Bungalow does not look like as advertised, very dated, servere wear and tear, shower tray cracked, leaked and overflowed, space was incredibly tight within bungalow, bedding was very worn, not clean, smudge marks, stains on walls, visible squashed bugs on bedding which made me wonder if they were ever changed.

Review 17:Location

Review 18:2 bed kasai Jardin was very small for two adults one 13 yr old and a ten year old. It was really a wooden clad static home squished amongst others surrounded by gravel/ dust. The entrance to the site was quite impressive albeit it didn't represent the interior. The pool was fairly small for the number of users. We only stayed a night and didn't take part in the activities but they looked well organised and the staff looked positive! Inside the park was a muddle of properties - some owned by Toison D'or others were private. It was fine for a night or two but expensive. It was lovely walking along beach in the morning before the tourists. It's also close to a nudist beach which my boys found amusing! Sadly no good looking people to look at mainly fat bald men.

Review 19:Nice location close to beach, albeit beach was extremely busy being height of season.

Review 20:In this day and age the Wi-Fi should be free

Review 21:The location on the beach! My teenagers loved the organized activities The supermarket had a great range of products and at very reasonable prices The restaurants with evening entertainment on the beachfront were also very nice

Review 22:Awful transport links. Taxi have a deal going with hotels resorts where they charge €30 per trip. It cost is €60 for going 2 miles to the resort and 2 miles back. Scandalous. The resort should make travellers aware and or offer transport from and to the bus station. Found other tourists of the same opinion

Review 23:Beach proximity good accomodation good staff good Not somewhere you should go without a car as taxis cost a small fortune and buses don't exist

Review 24:Location close to beach

Review 25:Not worth the money, the rooms don't get cleaned at all during your stay, even toilet paper not included. Pool was not working.

Review 26:Extremely expensive, no breakfast or WIFI for so much money. Toilet paper costs money as well :-) Pool was broken one of the days. Beach is nice but horrendously expensive as well. Needed to make up our own bed ourselves.

Review 27:The beach is nice and close by, but expensive. The creperie has good food.

Review 28:The wifi wasn't working, which presented a bit of an issue with regards to planning/research for the rest of our trip around Europe.

Review 29:The staff was awesome and very accommodating! Great options for activities and perfect location on the beach. Overall, very happy with our stay!

Review 30:The wi-fi didn't work and they wanted us to pay €7/hour to use the internet at the reception area. This should have been provided free if the wi-fi wasn't working

Review 31:Excellent resort, excellent location and a very unique place. Within walking distance to the best beach in Saint-Tropez. The restaurants at the beach and basically in the resort were fantastic. We didn't want to leave!

Review 32:Check in at 4pm and check out by 10am. No hot water in shower. Really and truly, this is a glorified camping site. Kids pool is adequate for up to 6 year olds, adult pool does not permit under 16s, so where is the pool for 6 to 16 year olds?

Review 33:External design of rooms

Review 34:Accommodations small for 6 people, hard to move around in bedrooms because they are completely filled with the beds; "cabins" right on top of each other; could hear other people outside talking while inside cabin; pool had no shallow portion and not enough chairs; sheets provided, but you have to make up your own beds on arrival

Review 35:proximity to beach, cabin was clean,

Review 36:The bungalos are tiny, and do not keep the heat/cold at all - at day time one cannot stay without a conditioner, at night time one can get cold. They claim to be "eco", but I cannot really call a house "eco" when you waste a lot of electricity to run the conditioner! The swimming pool was closed at the best time (12 to 13 and 18 to 19) for some private use, and closed very early in the evening. WiFi is a bit expensive.

Review 37:Everything you need for vacation with kids - beach, pool, supermarket, excellent restaurant - is just couple minutes away, very convenient! The beach is very nice!

Review 38:Pool opening hours too limited. shower split so lots of leaking onto the floor. There should have been a cloth, tea towel, dishwasher tablets provided in a welcome pack.

Review 39:Fantastic position, good facilities, excellent supermarket. The 'house' was quite good, if small, but it had everything we needed.

Review 40:Mosquitoes were eating me up.

Review 41:bungalows were lovely. Close to beach. Swimming pool was nice. Convenient when you travel with cars. Rooms were equipped with everything you can think of, even a dish washer.

Review 42:Resort was difficult to find, and did not show on gps. The hut was alsohard to find, especially in the dark. Pathways are not well marked andone gets easily lost. The hut was tiny and very hot, and the airconditioner broke at night. Not comfortable to stay inside hut forlonger than to change clothes.

Review 43:We wanted beach, and the location delivered. Convenient to drive intoSaint-Tropez at night for a wonderful evening with little traffic. Niceto have a close parking space.

Review 44:Bungalow with two rooms for 5 people to sleep is ridiculously small. We were a couple with a 8 month old baby and it was very small.

Review 45:If you are use to 4 or 5 star hotels this is not the place to stay. Restaurants, beach and swimming pool was good

Review 46:l'unica nota negativa sono gli orari di check in e check out

Review 47:posizione, attaccato al nikki beach e a 3km dal centro di St Tropez. il bungalow molto carino e pulito. la cortesia dello staff.

Review 48:The pool closes throughout the day and they kick all the kids out so they can do aquacise, aquadance and whatever. Its only open to families one hour in the morning and 2 hours (3 on weekends)in the afternoon. They kick 20 kids out so 3 people can jump around to horrible loud music, it really ruins the whole place if a pool is important to you.

Review 49:The pizza place is awesome, the gardens, grounds, fountains and region is very nice.

Review 50:The hut we had was ridiculously small. It was an actual trailer. The grounds were so confusing due to the hotel trailers being mixed in with what looked like personal trailer in a trailer park. The service at the small cafe/crepe place was really slow. Getting the check took 20 min. The main restaurant was so expensive we walked out after seeing the menu.

Review 51:The beach was very clean and there were lots of available lounge chairs. The onsite grocery was very convenient. The ladies at check-in were very very nice and the one lady at the concierge was fantastic! I don't remember her name but she was originally from Texas. She was so helpful and friendly.

Review 52:Bedrooms are quite tight. Difficult to get around to actually make the bed. About 6" between beds in twin room. Doors between bedrooms, toilet and shower room were close and you could only really work one at a time so we'd call out to each other to say that we were coming out. We were two older adults in unit that could theoretically take 4 adults but I wouldn't recommend that! We are former campers and it took us back to the fun of that without the work but we thought it was overpriced for what it is. Of course it is St Tropez.

Review 53:Lots of plantings--oleander, pine trees--made mobile home environment rather inviting. We used outside deck dining and found it very pleasant. A nice casual change of pace after over-indulging at several Relais & Chateaux hotels. Bed was quite comfortable. Linen quality very good. Air conditioning worked well. Clean, tidy. Easy walk to beach from our Kasai Jardin unit even though it was in section furthest from beach. Manoah beach club available cost about 60 Euros for 2 lounge chairs and umbrella but this is lower cost than at Club 55 or Key Largo and a nicer bathroom/shower/change room in the restaurant. We didn't try food.

Review 54:Check-in at 4pm and check-out at 10am?!?!? I have never experienced such a thing... Really awful for the client. Do they really need 6 hours to clean a room? We didn't even have possibility to pay for a late check-out.

Review 55:Amazing location!!! Value for money

Review 56:Size, cleaning ... And the drainage system... When u flush in toilet, water comes from kitchen sink... Worst feeling

Review 57:Only location... That's it !!!

Review 58:It says 4 stars but must be in a different location from where we were, which were like trailers! Very tight, not comfortable and we received the sheets to make our own beds when we arrived at midnight. So, don't expect much!

Review 59:Location and price

Review 60:Internet had to be paid for and still didnt work

Review 61:Holiday Atmosphere, close to beach, close to st tropez and other beaches, nice comfortable huts. Internet and printer available at reception.

Review 62:No place on site to exchange or get money no cash machines. Beds foam need replacing . No where around the hut to sunbath.although chairs where there the area was sheltered from the sun bushes over grown . You can pull the sun beds to the beach but it's too far and the chairs are heavy . The guys are very close together so can hear your neighbours .

Review 63:The beach

Review 64:Our kasai was steps away from the sea. We stayed during mid April prior to peak season. It was ideal with a beautiful beach and sea right outside our doors step.

Review 65:check in time is 4p.m and not a moment sooner! even though the property was ready at 12.15 when we arrived!

Review 66:The location is brilliant 30 seconds from the beach and 5 minute drive from St tropez

Review 67:There was no bedding or towels in the property when we arrived. When we informed the staff, the bedding and towels arrived immediately however we did have to make up our own beds when it arrived which was the last thing we wanted to do after a very long day travelling ......

Review 68:the location was great and the staff were really pleasant and helpful. Any issues resolved really quickly

Review 69:We got two chalets near the beach on special offer so it was fine for our purposes. But I would have felt short changed if we'd been staying for longer. The location is very good, right by the beach and a short ride into town. There is a fairly good if pricy supermarket. The staff at the Brazilian restaurant/pizzeria are very nice even if the food is a bit expensive and limited if you have young children. But then it is St Tropez. Negatives - the mosquitoes, even in April. Do not go without proper protection, can't imagine what it is like in Summer. The facilities are rather meagre and pool times quite limited if you have children. The pool was heated but not very warm so kids were wearing wetsuits. The check in time is 4pm and check out next morning is 10 a.m. You incur a 30 euro extra payment to stay until 12. If you are coming for one night, its more like a b and b set up. The accommodation is clean and well maintained. It is what it is. A mobile home with a bit of wood around it and a grass roof. Quite safe for kids but there are cars driving around so can't be unsupervised.

Review 70:no hair dryer in the bathroom.

Review 71:easy to cook and car parking is available in front of your staying place. they have pool for baby and children. children playing area is available.

Review 72:Beds are not stable and not comfortable. Sheets had some clear spots.

Review 73:Staff is very friendly and helpful. We arrived the next day when hotel was opened for the season, but everything was ready and working properly. Location and the whole concept is amazing! Bangallows are just on the beach! You really feel like you are jungles. There is a shop, hairdresser and a restaurant in the location.

Review 74:If you are planning a short visit ..dont stay....If you plan a looooong holiday then this is good.

Review 75:It's a community in itself...everything inside the resort ...kind of private beach as well

Review 76:Room was very small, needed to go outside to change your mind! Shower drain was blocked so water leaked out over the floor

Review 77:Lovely location, just steps to the beach Good pool and facilities All staff friendly and helpful Great decor Everything was new and clean

Review 78:Only clean sheets once per week, should be two & should have a ramp to beach for buggys

Review 79:The huts are very clean & have everything but a washing machine although there's a launderette on site

Review 80:Beds were awful, soft, and bed frame instable. Lots of mosquitos. It still is a trailor, we just werent prepared for it i guess, given the high end price.

Review 81:Close to the beach, nice reception, restaurant, and other facilities. Looks well maintained. Staff were friendly/

Review 82:Kasai jardin was a little small for 2 adults, 1 16year old & 1 8 year old, but good size balcony area

Review 83:Layout of the village - proximity to the beach - evening entertainment - great location to explore Saint Tropez!

Review 84:need to be able to deal with lots of children and a campground like vibe.

Review 85:super location, interesting hut lodging. would be hard to beat for a family price wise on the Rivera and in the beach.

Review 86:Atmosphere location

Review 87:The bathroom was clogged and the water went into the room

Review 88:Great beach and great location. Pleace is like holiday club.

Review 89:Awesome being right on the beach.

Review 90:We stayed in a jardin bungalow and they were all on top of each other so absolutely no privacy!!

Review 91:First night no sheets and towels. No mosquito screens. They were bad!

Review 92:Location to the beach

Review 93:Waaay too expensive for what it offers.

Review 94:It was not clean, bessheets were dirty and not enough

Review 95:The place is near the beach

Review 96:Small accommodation and very close together with other units. The toilet was absolutely stinky.

Review 97:Nice beach location

Review 98:Sucio Sin jabon Horrible

Review 99:Small rooms, low standard, uncomfortable beds

Review 100:great localisation. . close to the beach, good restaurant

Review 101:No free wifi

Review 102:Perfect location. Fantastic atmosphere.

Review 103:Not suitable for short stay, no soap at the bathroom. You need to buy everyrhing you need beforw you go there

Review 104:Service staff were not very good and the overall facilities are understaffed.

Review 105:Excellent location. Very nice facilities.

Review 106:Charming village, facilities, beach

Review 107:Perfect!!! K

Review 108:Location.

Review 109:caravan with bits of wood on the roof, at check in left waiting for an hour whilst they tried to find keys!!! Very unprofessional staff!!!!

Review 110:location

Review 111:Bedroom very small

Review 112:Fantastic location, very well run site.

Review 113:The chalets were rather small for 4 adults especially in the bedroom with twin beds.

Review 114:Location was excellent being so close to the beach.

Review 115:this place should have a pub

Review 116:the location, facilities

Review 117:the setting, loved the restaurant, the Park is lovely, even just for a stroll.

Review 118:No way to hike around, especially with a baby stroller. Impossible to get somwhere without a car.

Review 119:Nice comfy, quite and very relaxing. Great area.

Review 120:Pool

Review 121:Noise at night 30 euro taxi each way to St Tropez

Review 122:Location Pool Beach Beach Clubs

Review 123:Sheets and towels apparently not standard. Accommodations a bit tight, in a trailer-like bungalow.

Review 124:Well organized for a camping site. Close to beaches. On-site shopping with supermarket, cafe, etc. Evening activities.

Review 125:Not worth the effort for a short stay at the high season price. For c. £190 for 2 people for 1 night you have no linen, you have to make your own bed & are subject to inspection on departure to ensure it is left clean & tidy. No basic cleaning products provided either which makes matters tricky (e.g. rubbish bin liner, dishwashing detergents, a tea towel a sponge / cloth to wipe surfaces), so not ideal for folks just looking for a short stay option and not wanting to buy all of the basics. For a short stay, a hotel room would just be so much easier and less hassle. For 4 adults this would have been extremely cosy and I would not recommend it - in that scenario you will probably have to leave your suitcases in your car.

Review 126:Close proximity to the beach and the accommodation seems to be relatively new and fresh. Lovely beachfront restaurant (Manoa) for lunch. It seems like a good option for families with children.

Review 127:Bungalows are a little small for 5 people, but worth the tight fit! Werented towels and sheets from the laundry.

Review 128:Very beautiful location on the beach. Restaurants and market right onpremises. Staff is very helpful. We loved it! Right outside of St-Tropezand were very glad that we stayed at the beach resort.

Review 129:their staff was awful. the one at the receiption, she told me didn't find my booking and let me waited for half hour without any answer. the one show me to the bungalow, he's more interested himself showing. Have little experience staff!

Review 130:Hi, I like the camping atmostphere.

Review 131:Bungalows are pre-fabricated structures which are practical, pretty new, but a bit small. Fine for a short stay but would be very tight for 6 adults for more than than. Sheets are not included and have to be requested at an additional cost. If arriving after 7 pm be sure to call ahead and request them.

Review 132:50 meters from the beach and very affordable. Great for a group of friends and being close to the beach.
