Reviews for Miners Lodge

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:Landlady - brilliant, gave me a lift to darts as cabs were ripping people off. Put my belongings in room 2 whilst I was out - a credit to the place

Review 3:It did not feel safe, had no one to leave the key in the morning or instructions where to leave it. The price was listed as £33.33 but in small letters excluding VAT. The mattress was really uncomfortable. I will not stay there again.

Review 4:Location, near my work place

Review 5:A little 'tired' in areas - ink stain on duvet cover, mattress not very comfortable, bath mat seen better days - but generally OK and clean.

Review 6:Convenient and easy access and parking. Having read previous comments, brought items to supplement (e.g. china mug). Basic but OK for price and location.

Review 7:The car park is full of puddles and uneven with no lighting. The mattress on the bed was rock hard and extremely uncomfortable, so it was the worst night sleep I've ever had when away on business. There was paint peeling off the walls in the bathroom. Whilst there were tea and coffee facilities, a disposible plastic water cup was provided to drink out of. The glass in the bathroom was filthy. The drain on the shower was blocked, so the water kept backing up. When you arrive, you have to go into a busy bar to pick up your key. In the morning, everywhere is locked up, so I ended up posting the key through the pub front door as there isn't anywhere else to put it. There are no staff on if you need anything overnight.

Review 8:The staff were friendly when I turned up. The shower was hot.

Review 9:A budget price shouldn't mean that a required standard should be reduced. Price is negotaible, but a standard isn't.

Review 10:The price. Great value for money.

Review 11:Shame the pub doesn't do breakfast - although Black bean café just down the road.

Review 12:Good location, easy access from M3. Ample car parking. Part of pub establishment with good pub grub menu. What's more to want.

Review 13:The manager of miners lodge was very friendly and helpful! Couldn't fault the rooms at all, clean rooms and bathroom, comfy beds, and right next to the pub where you can get a bite to eat or a few drinks.

Review 14:Room not ready - only one bed made up. Furnishings somewhat sparse. Parking was a problem as there was a party on at the pub. Noisy until late.

Review 15:Friendly helpful staff

Review 16:I could not hand the room key in before leaving. After walking right round the property, finding nothing open, I pushed it through a letterbox. The toilet seat was falling off and the basin's plug chain disconnected. No breakfast available.

Review 17:A comfortable bed for the night with en suite and tea making facility and TV. A quiet night once those interested in pub TV football had left.

Review 18:Extremely noisy pub, stag night first evening then disco 2nd evening until 1.30am, room was the wall of the loud & busy beer garden, upstairs flat tenants were up at 6.30am inc Sunday, so I got little sleep. Neither TV or Wifi worked, plastic disposable cups to make tea in as 'people pinch mugs', room was only half clean, toilet wasn't even flushed when I arrived. Owner never appeared to deal with any of the problems.

Review 19:On arrival, as a lone female I found it intimidating to have to go through a pub full of people to meet the reception staff. Also as a complete stranger to the area it was awkward having no breakfast facilities on site.

Review 20:Actually not very much. But it was a very last minute booking so I wasn't expecting perfection.

Review 21:Toilet leaked in room 6, in which I was stating. The water in the shower was draining and therefore standing in a standing water when having a shower. The wi-fi was not working. The signal was not strong enough. The room was dirty. There were hair all over the room and in the bathroom was as well.

Review 22:Nothing.

Review 23:No breakfast, or even coffee at 8am. Reception is in the bar of the adjacent pub. To check in you need to compete with customers for attention. Later in the evening, the "music" from the bar area was very loud. There is a car park, which is good, but unless you arrive early, then it can be full of customers' cars from the pub.

Review 24:The price was good. The room and shower room were good. The staff were very helpful - beyond expectation in fact.

Review 25:Had a walk in wardrobe but no drawers. Would have liked a wall light or bedside lamp had to get out of bed to turn the light out. TV was very small and couldn't see the picture that easy. Signal was poor. Didnt get my bins emptied daily. Was a bit poor for the cost £50 per week

Review 26:Was very comfotable and the staff in the pub friendly and helpful

Review 27:WiFi reception is often poor

Review 28:Our youngest son and his family live locally in Frimley. This lodge is convenient, good value for money and always clean; we stay often.

Review 29:The loo tilted (as in not secured to the floor), and lid came off on closing! But didn't faze us, would stay again

Review 30:Perfectly adequate facilities, friendly staff in pub next door, free wifi in pub (but not in room). A fuss free place to stay for the night!

Review 31:When we were leaving there was nobody anywhere so we put the key through the front door of the pub as we did not know what else to do.

Review 32:Close to where we were going for the evening.

Review 33:Dirty glasses on bathroom floor, towels had seen better days, wi fi didn't reach room, no lamp, requested fan which wasn't in room. Lots of marks on walls, pub very noisy. And hair round sink in bathroom.

Review 34:Bed comfortable

Review 35:Their was nothing not to like about the lodge

Review 36:The staff were very inviting and friendly the lodge was built on to a pub so good if you needed a drink the lodge also offers food within the pub which Is great the staff couldn't have done any more for me and the people within the pub were a great bunch

Review 37:There was a bottle bank right outside our room, which was noisey. There was no shower gel or shampoo supplied.

Review 38:The location was good with parking right outside our room. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly.

Review 39:no desk, no table, kettle near wall that has no electricity point nearest point behind beds. no toilet seat cover, no shelf or toilet roll holder in bathroom and mould in bathroom

Review 40:No change of towels though a 6 night stay. Noise from pub though to be fair end of week was a bank holiday weekend and noisy til quite late and someone shouting at 2am and I needed to get up at 520 am.

Review 41:Staff were friendly food in pub next door was good but limited choice.

Review 42:The radiator wouldn't work until I'd wrestled with it! Cold ,draughty night. Electric socket behind the bed.......

Review 43:Only real positive was location for our needs and comfortable beds.

Review 44:The room was on the ground floor and the herd of elephants living above us awoke around 05.30. Wi-Fi, although available in the pub next door, was not available in our room.

Review 45:Location to nearby facilities is excellent. We were golfing at Pine Ridge Golf Course nearby. We were made welcome and told where a good breakfast could be had.

Review 46:I had the same bedroom that I was allocated back in October, 2014. Back in October the toilet seat lid was missing, and in April 2015, still missing. Towels/Bath Mat were very old and hard. In general the whole room needs updating, becoming very shabby.

Review 47:The price is very good

Review 48:I think it's wrong to say it's got wifi if you can't get it in your room . Why not be honest and say their is wifi but only in the pub .

Review 49:The room was very nice and clean the shower was great . And safe parking .

Review 50:Had to move a bed to find the socket. No mirrors in room to do hair in front of. Take your own soap, hair dryer, shampoo etc. If you like to be tucked in,take your own duvets or blankets,no extra ones available. Towels smelt like they'd been washed at 15 degrees.

Review 51:Easy to find, easy parking, ground floor room with surprisingly comfortable beds, great night's sleep. Quiet end of the building, away from the pub. Plentiful hot water and (when it was put on,after a request) nice hot radiators, sufficient to heat the very compact room. Great location for us,would certainly use again.

Review 52:Wi fi very hit and miss. Cigarette ends on the grass outside. No mirror except bathroom

Review 53:Friendly. Comfortable. Hungry? No problem here. No breakfast tho.

Review 54:There is a flat above the rooms and I could hear people running up and down the stairs and moving around above me. The wifi worked for about 2 minutes and then just disappeared and wouldn't work again- it comes from the pub across the car park and the signal is very weak. No-one came in to replace the tea and coffee facilities or clean over the weekend.

Review 55:The chinese restaurant up the road is good.

Review 56:I couldn't access the wi-fi from my room.

Review 57:The room was clean and warm, the bed was comfortable, there is now a bedside table, clean bathroom, plenty of hot water, tea- and coffee-making facilities. Provided me with exactly what I needed.

Review 58:Wifi reception can be intermittent at times.

Review 59:We have used this accommodation 3 or 4 times over the last year. Reception staff are always welcoming and helpful. Room is always clean & tidy ad there is always plentyof hot water

Review 60:WiFi only in the pub and I couldn't connect at night when it was busy. (I had no problem in the morning whilst stood outside)

Review 61:Friendly staff and clean comfortable room.

Review 62:Disappointed that the sign outside the pub said food served all day, not at 1900. End of a long day had to go in search of an evening meal

Review 63:It was adequate for the price

Review 64:My friend runs accustic blues club at the pub, we was there for that reason, but everything very good, not sure of the wifi, never tried, very nice room, Helen very helpful

Review 65:Summer weight duvet left me cold during the night. Smoking area for pub located adjacent to bedroom block so customer noise continued until 2-30am. No option to have breakfast.

Review 66:Friendly service. Plenty of free parking. Room was modern, well decorated and clean. En-suite was modern and clean.

Review 67:Room too warm! Caused by small (non-adjustable) radiator in bathroom; not helped by non-working extractor fan. As a result, had to sleep with window open at end of October!

Review 68:Value for money. Easy check-in/out.

Review 69:Blue standby light on television was very disruptive to my sleep.

Review 70:The room was basic but more than adequate for single visitor. Easy access even later in the evening, with own key, and plenty of parking.

Review 71:Fire alarm kept bleeping not a big problem as I sleep through any thing

Review 72:Close to motorway friendly staff would have been nice to have option of breakfast

Review 73:Above the room that I stayed in ,lived the noisiest family I have ever come across.Kids shouting and charging round, the adults were as bad also. The rooms either side of me had foreign gents who you could hear clearly on phones etc,if you require a nights sleep don't even consider staying hear. Its cheap but still not worth it

Review 74:No chair or desk in twin room - I'd intended doing a bit of work. TV wasn't very good.

Review 75:Nice welcome from staff. Value - though the temptation of a pint of real ale in the pub negates some saving! Car park - very near to rooms.

Review 76:No shelves or razor point in the shower WiFi reception was poor on this visit

Review 77:Excellent cupboard space. Bright & clean Great hot water for the shower Good parking

Review 78:There is not much privacy as my room was on the ground floor and without net curtains anyone can see in. No nearby breakfast options.

Review 79:Really good value for an overnight stay. Pub next door has good beer and a shortish menu. Wifi was OK but a little slow at times.

Review 80:Evry night accompanied by cacophony outside until 1am.drunken shouting and swearing.bed springs poking through mattress that had seen better days. Black mould in grout lines of shower. Can be solved with bleach. Kettle plug socket difficult to locate.

Review 81:Arrived at night and was abl to obtain meal of good quality from friendly staff.

Review 82:One of the guests needed a stool / chair to assist in bathroom area. Had we asked owner this could of been made available . Will know for next time

Review 83:The rooms are very comfortable & spotlessly clean . The owners are very accommodating . There food was excellent .

Review 84:needed to be more frequent cleaning service and serving a breakfast.

Review 85:I would sugget if you are looking for a room with reasonable price and calm enviroment

Review 86:We were not told where to leave the room keys, we went to the pub where we had collected them the day before, but the door was closed. We had to leave the keys in the room and the room unlocked, we called reception and left a voice message explaining the situation

Review 87:The room itself was lovely and clean, bathroom was surpricingly spacious

Review 88:As it's part of a pub it isn't the quietest location.

Review 89:Nice clean foom with bathroom, shower and tea making facilities.

Review 90:Perfect for what we needed, close by to where we were going for the evening. Got exactly what we expected to and this was fair for the price we paid
