Reviews for Colebrook Guest House

Review 1:Could have had another socket to charge our phones in the family room.

Review 2:All staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and rooms were comfy and clean as we had twin room and family room.

Review 3:No shaver point, bathroom mirror light broken, shower is just about adequate, no electrical outlets by beds

Review 4:Value for money and dog-friendly. Plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and biscuits in the room.

Review 5:There was nothing not to like.

Review 6:All the staff were so friendly and helpful. They made it feel like home from home with their warm welcome. No review would be complete without a mention of the variety and quality of their breakfasts. Thankyou for making our last week in Farnborough so pleasant.

Review 7:Overall a great stay! however, would of been nice to have access to a microwave/ fridge as I was staying for 4 nights so had to arrange to eat out each night.

Review 8:Great location to get to The Aviator, kind friendly staff and nice breakfast. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Review 9:Bathroom well below par, no water pressure, a long wait for any hot water, and bathroom fittings old, with a sagging shower cubicle base.

Review 10:Ideal location for visiting North Camp. Staff friendly and welcoming.. Over priced for what is offered.

Review 11:The sausages! But that's my own personal taste.

Review 12:Friendly hosts. Good location to attend functions at The Aviator. Breakfast was excellent. Room was comfortable. The ensuite was small but perfectly formed!

Review 13:Bedroom on ground floor in dire need of refurbishment and mattress replacement, very old and lumpy. Just off road street parking which could be a problem if raining.

Review 14:Warm and member of staff very helpful. Breakfast very good.

Review 15:Small room No room for a chair Sound proofing not good Toilet seat has wash basin in the way WiFi very average.

Review 16:Cheerful staff Reasonable breakfast location

Review 17:On the booking form it asks if you require parking. There is no parking other than in the street. This is misleading. Luckily there were two parking spaces but the road was very busy.

Review 18:The guest house was very warm and comfortable. Close to where we wanted to go. The breakfast was excellent.

Review 19:The bathroom was a bit dirty, someone had left shaving hair on the sink.

Review 20:Good size room for one person for one night with shower room. Good value for money. Friendly staff.

Review 21:The shower in the room needs a bit more pressure to it. But plenty of hot water and clean room and towels.

Review 22:It was very clean and comfortable. Rooms were spacious and breakfast was very good.

Review 23:Occasional noise heard from ajacent rooms but not enough to ruin the night.

Review 24:A nice clean and cosy room with everything I needed that night before attending a conference 5 minutes up the road. Very friendly staff and nice breakfast served quickly.

Review 25:shower head not working very well and not stable so had to hand hold it which made it awkward to shower

Review 26:Breakfast good choice and tasty and staff very helpful and friendkly

Review 27:Dated shower - cold water only

Review 28:Comfortable, in pleasant old street, near main roads. Nice room and allowed to bring my dog! Friendly owner very helpful with directions.

Review 29:Bed was a little hard

Review 30:The staff was excellent and accommodated our early arrival. Very good breakfast. Very clean and efficient. The bed was a little hard.

Review 31:Extremely small bathroom, sink and shower. Difficult to manoeuvre. Would not recommend if you are large or infirm in any way! Mattresses were clean and new but very cheap.

Review 32:Friendly staff. Breakfast was very good.

Review 33:The shower allows this small dribble of water at a temperature that is such an art to get right that I thought I maybe need a smart phone app to dial in the correct temp - manually I could only get two settings: below 50 degrees and above 50 degrees, but it varies greatly in those two ranges. The host reminded me a bit of Simon Pegg's character in "How to lose friends and alienate people".

Review 34:Plain and simple, nothing over the top, just good value for a quick stop. Good space in the family room with a double- and single bed. And the chef's poached eggs are brilliantly done!

Review 35:We called to tell that we were arriving late. Though it was out of reception hours, the landlady showed a lot of understanding and flexibility, and made arrangements for the keys instantaneously! Excellent service!

Review 36:No staff on site at all times. The en-suite bathroom (with shower) was minimal and extremely small. The sink was the smallest I'd ever seen and the toilet difficult to sit down on because it was so low and cramped in the "bathroom". No tissues or shampoo/conditioner (a pump bottle of bodywash/shampoo combo was in the shower).

Review 37:The staff (when we saw them) and breakfast were awesome. The bedding and room were clean, as was the house.

Review 38:Parking was on the street but really wasn't a problem.

Review 39:We had a great breakfast every morning from a really good selection. Loved that the room had a ceiling fan. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Review 40:I was woken at 1.30am by some very noisy ladies coming back from a night out! The shower was a bit rubbish.

Review 41:Breakfast was great & Diana was really friendly! Lovely house & I will definitely go back.

Review 42:Sash windows broken. Would not stay open. Room door jammed, unable to get out when leaving. Safety hazzard. Dirty tissues and cobwebs behind bedside cabinet, discovered when looking for a plug socket.

Review 43:Location for my visit was good.

Review 44:Our friends thought we were crazy to stay in Farnsborough - apparently this is not a top tourist destination. That said, this was a wonderful B&B on a cute street in a regular town and didn't cost a fortune, so I give it top marks!

Review 45:Room a little on the small side. But up side of that was they left tea facilities & biscuits

Review 46:They were very accommodating & left key out for me.very organised & friendly too .

Review 47:Triple room and bathroom were tight for three people but we made it work.

Review 48:Great customer service! The owners are so nice. We got lost and had to check in late. We called and they helped with directions, finding parking and local restaurants. Very quiet neighborhood and very clean room. Made to order breakfast. Wifi worked great.

Review 49:Weak coffee at breakfast.

Review 50:Very reasonable price for pretty good facilities in this cozy house in a quiet residential neighbourhood, with excellent welcoming.

Review 51:.

Review 52:Very clean, good sized rooms. Good breakfast selection and ensured towels were refreshed each day. Location was good for us as we had a car so able to travel around.

Review 53:Disfunctional breakfast arrangements, limited for space dealing with cerals & beverages. Milk on tables would be beneficial. Cheap transport cafe table covers makes everything sticky. The food itself was however very enjoyable. My comets are not negative in anyway, just another perspective to improve this business.

Review 54:Very fresh and airy rooms. Pleasant staff.

Review 55:Room 7 does not have a good WiFi reception

Review 56:Easy access to the hotel with on-road parking Pet-friendly, one of the few I have found in the area and pets are accommodated for free

Review 57:Nothing bad to say at all - it was great value and an enjoyable experience.

Review 58:The bed was very comfortable and the room tidy and well appointed. We were greeted by a very attentive lady who was welcoming and friendly, putting us immediately at ease. Breakfast was excellent and served very quickly - important for people with a busy schedule.

Review 59:The tiniest bathroom ever. Some reviews praised their shower; others complained. Unfortunately I got the latter. Very little power in the shower.

Review 60:Lovely welcome. Great breakfast.

Review 61:Bed was uncomfortable, bath so small only one person cud stand in it, and door handle came loose and I got the blame for it!!

Review 62:Breakfast was good but not much choice

Review 63:All was good.

Review 64:this guesthouse is TOP.we did-not look for mistakes, dust or anything else.we were very happy with our room, and service.well done all. Geoff and Monika.Oldenburg,Germany.

Review 65:after returning from visiting relatives two nights @ about 2200hrs there is a problem finding a parking place near the B&B. had to drive round streets to find a parking place then 10 minute walk back to the B&B

Review 66:very pleasant staff, couldn't say anything bad to say about them most obliging

Review 67:Not sure if they had all the information from booking as I had mentioned that stairs are a problem, but could be climbed but slowly.

Review 68:Being disabled it was a real help to have someone take my luggage upstairs. The breakfast was very good, included in the price, kept me warm inside and on the go.

Review 69:The first night I was cold however the staff was quick to resolve the problem by sorting my heating out which resolved the problem.

Review 70:The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean.

Review 71:UK power sockets (staff provided an adapter upon request). UK sink in the bathroom with separate hot and cold water taps. (above points are true for most UK hotels, not something specific to this place)

Review 72:nice quiet place very friendly and helpful staff

Review 73:On street parking might be a bit difficult at busy times.

Review 74:Warm and comfortable. Homely atmosphere. Very generous breakfast. Everything we needed was readily available.

Review 75:The single bedroom was cramped, old furniture & the bed/mattress should have been thrown out (& replaced!) long ago. Time slot for breakfast- even on a Sunday- was very limited. No proper area to wait for meeting/pick up , after checkout (10.30am)

Review 76:The bath/shower room- very modern & clean. The breakfast- choice was good & very nicely cooked/prepared. 'Hostess'- friendly.

Review 77:Not really any issues. It obviously is not the Ritz but does not ever suggest that - just excellent accommodation for the price. A little miffed that we HAD to pay before entering our rooms but not a deal breaker.

Review 78:Had a visit to Ascot and this accommodation was well located, well presented, friendly and great value. We were downstairs so can't comment re upstairs etc but rooms were very good for the price and breakfast was excellent. If the same circumstances arose again would stay there.

Review 79:Not really a negative because the room was very clean and tidy, but the ensuite could have done with a bit for tlc

Review 80:Great location to access the airport. Friendly and helpful stuff. Proper home cooked breakfast. Comfortable single room.

Review 81:The staff were incredibly accommodating and really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks a lot!

Review 82:Everything about our stay at colebrook guest house was excellent. The room we stayed in was warm and very comfortable with lovely bedding and pillows (best nights sleep I've had for ages) The staff were very friendly and helpful and made you feel at home .There was a good selection at breakfast with lots more than just the usual full English . Would definitely stay there again and recommend this guest house to anyone else staying in the area . Excellent value for money.

Review 83:Comfort of bed, which was an old fashioned bedsted. Lack of parking space on the streets around.

Review 84:Convenient location, size of room, cleanliness, bathroom, wifi

Review 85:Coming from North America we were a bit jet lagged and so the 7:00-8:30 a.m. window for breakfast was a bit tight (although as I said because it was so good we always managed it, LOL). The heating is on a timer and so is off in the p.m. (okay) but also off in the early hours (ask for an extra blanket)

Review 86:People were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food was terrific. The place was surprisingly quiet inside and no real noise from the outside (at least for our rooms). The location was also terrific and there was plenty of space for parking, and often right outside. We would absolutely go back!

Review 87:Excellent location, just a few steps from North Camp centre and twenty minutes' walk to Farnborough shopping center. People who are in charge of this place are responsible, sensible and kind persons. People working for this small bussiness are also very kind and helpful. The room was very clean, with smart look and coffee/tea facilities. Excellent breakfast with several options available, Best impressions from this guesthouse and best wishes! Penelope, Crete, Greece

Review 88:On the evening of my arrival, I found that the little light above the bed didn't work and the ceiling light only worked some of the time. I went down to the small reception desk about 7.45 pm, but it was shut and there was no-one about. I phoned a mobile number for out of hours which was provided on a handout I had been given. I got an answerphone which said it was an electrical company, which I didn't understand. I left a message. I also reported the faults to the receptionist/owner. the next morning and when I got back that evening, the lights were both working. I found I was getting woken up about 7 am on 2 mornings because there was some sort of mechanical noise, or another room's shower maybe. Breakfast finished a bit too early for me.

Review 89:The staff were mostly polite and friendly. The room and ensuite were clean and the decor and curtains looked quite new and fresh. The light problems in the room were fixed quickly. I had breakfast only one morning, but the choice was good and the food was very good.

Review 90:Only one plug socket for family room and no shaver point in bathroom aswell. Bit noisy in the night on two occasions.

Review 91:Cleanliness, complimentary tray, Good choice for breakfast, tasty and plenty of it! Helpful staff.

Review 92:Next investment should be new mattress. However I slept all through so this is a minor item.

Review 93:Friendliness of staff gave a "home from home" feel. Very clean and all stocked up with everything I needed so there is no need to carry a big over night bag.

Review 94:Rooms are small.

Review 95:The rooms are very tidy and quite comfortable. The breakfast is terrific, but it is really the hospitality of the staff that sets this establishment apart. Staying here is a great way to experience real life in the UK.

Review 96:Tiny hand basin too small for a shave. Chest of drawers, wardrobe and desk just not quite the same quality as the other furnishings. A bit of a mix of themes and standards.

Review 97:Lovely shower room and loo. Great, stylish bedding.

Review 98:Room was slightly cold as no heating on yet but once in bed was fine.

Review 99:Staff were great. Very friendly and helpful. Situated within a couple of miles from where I was working so very convenient. Found a parking space outside the guest house easily. All facilities working. Would recommend and would return.

Review 100:Rather steep climb, two flights of stairs to attic room, & room was too warm overnight. Earlier arrival time would be useful though we were accommodated after a phone call.

Review 101:Good location for our celebration venue, just a 5 minute walk away & excellent value. Good welcome, kindly gave a handy map of the immediate area. Helped to carry bags. Pleasant staff at breakfast, & excellent choices of food.

Review 102:The hours for breakfast were very short. The bathroom was very small

Review 103:Location was great and we could walk many places. They served a great breakfast. The people working in the house were there to please you.

Review 104:Very very minor gripes but some small improvements would have enhanced my review - I wasn't asked what I wanted in my full English breakfast which is unusual so I had to leave items I don't like which is wasteful. The glasses for the fruit juice were like thimbles and the cups were small too and there are no teapots provided. So I spent most of my breakfast up and down getting refills of fruit juice, refills of tea and making my own toast. The serviettes were also ridiculously small and papery.

Review 105:The staff were friendly. It was small room but clean. Easy parking in street. Good breakfast.

Review 106:Check in was very late and we had to wait in town after a long international flight, to check in. Basin in room was minute and impractical. Could not use without messing on the floor. Mattress could have been upgraded.

Review 107:Cooked breakfast very good. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Quiet and peaceful at night for a good night's sleep.

Review 108:I didnt sleep very well because of a crying baby but thats not the a fault of the B&B

Review 109:Everything was nice. Great room, great staff and really good breakfast

Review 110:street parking can sometimes be a bind

Review 111:its those little extras that make the difference between here and other places i have stayed, e.g. biscuits hot chocolate and even room upgrades without asking

Review 112:The Food was First Class and the two girls who made and served our Breakfast were Lovely they made us feel very welcome we will definitely be back Love Margaret Jim and Dad from Scotland .xxx

Review 113:Advertised parking is actually in the street outside the guest house.

Review 114:I liked the location and the hosts. Furnishings were ok for re-worked items. Facilities were clean and breakfast was good.

Review 115:Nothing.

Review 116:The breakfast menu was far superior to other B&Bs I have stayed in. (Eggs Florentine, freshly prepared, lots of choice). Room clean, comfortable, decor up to date, everything in working order. Friendly hosts.

Review 117:Damp stains on the walls, only one plug socket in a family room and the poo left in the toilet and the dirty cups and glasses

Review 118:The lady who cooked the breakfasts, very friendly.

Review 119:I had an individual room. It was too small. The bathroom could be a bit cleaner.

Review 120:The breakfast was so good. I'd love to eat breakfast like that everyday.

Review 121:The weekend breakfast was very nice apart from there not being enough seating to accommodate all the guests for 1 setting I suggested staggering which they might consider the servings are only 8am-9am which is not a lot of time

Review 122:Very comfortable and clean

Review 123:Unfriendly notices about towels and wine and takeaways, never seen that in my travels, took away from stay.

Review 124:Breakfast excellent. Staff friendly.

Review 125:Everything that we expected was here. For us, the perfect B&B

Review 126:Poor lighting in room to get ready

Review 127:Lovely breakfast, comfy bed, warm, friendly

Review 128:Hard to find in the evening. Only public parking available.

Review 129:Very peaceful environment. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Review 130:There was water leaking through the ceiling of the ensuite shower.

Review 131:The bed was very comfortable.

Review 132:Nothing all good

Review 133:Nice and clean breakfast was amazing and the owner was very helpful.

Review 134:Lovely staff very welcoming and very helpful. Breakfasts lovely plenty of choice and lovely clean rooms. Very happy with the stay

Review 135:The location was ideal for where we needed to go Staff extremly friendly Room good value for money

Review 136:Dudley what a nice man

Review 137:Friendly staff and a really good breakfast. Family room and double on the ground floor worked well for us.

Review 138:Parking a bit difficult.

Review 139:Pleasant comfortable clean room, lovely cooked breakfast.
