Family-run Antigoni is only 1200 ft from the beach at Agia Galini town in Rethymno, in the south of Crete. Set on a low hill, it offers a view of the Libyan Sea and mount Psiloritis.

Review 1：Wifi reception was not do good everywhere in the room and I was best outside in the breakfast area (veranda). Also, there were relatively few plugs in rather inconvenient places. The breakfast location and timing is nice, but the focus on sweet things was too heavy for our taste and there was no real coffee, by only instant coffee. These are minor things, just suggestions how to improve the property.

Review 2：Friendly staff and nice location on the hill with parking facilities next to the hotel. Nice and bright room with a useful balcony. Quiet air conditioner. When we arrived, there were already free welcome drinks for us in the fridge, which was a nice surprise.

Review 3：bathroom and balcony very small, but nothing can be done about that. the hotel is set on a very steep but short hill so not good for people with walking problems,

Review 4：Maria the owner was most helpful and of pleasant nature, nothing was too much trouble, had everything to hand with wifi tv and coffee making facilities and a variety of free drinks the fridge we decided we would like to stay another night, unfortunately there were no rooms available, so she called other places and they were full and eventually she took me across the street to another hotel where we stayed

Review 5：Very clean and spacious room with sea view, pleasant updated furnitures and attention to details(wifi, boiler, and many welcoming drinks provided for us in the fridge). Breakfast was included, and we really enjoyed the variety of the taste, each day.. All the credits to Mrs. Maria, the sweet and thoughtful owner, taking care of all our needs, with discretion and tenderness. We felt so pampered and really loved this place!!

Review 6：Breakfast was mainly based on bread (pies, toasted bread, cookies), so it got tiring and we could not eat everything. In general, it could be richer and of better quality. Some other type of salad would be nice too for variety, especially for people staying more than 2 days.

Review 7：Clean, with amazing sea view from the room. Location is OK, up to the hill, and close to the centre of this small village. Staff is helpful and polite. Breakfast area was super clean and tidy. Breakfast was well served by staff and contained nice yogurt with honey and delicious ntakos salad! There is also a mini market close, and a bus station (helpful if you arrive by bus, ask the driver to stop).

Review 8：Very friendly, clean, we also wanted to stay one more night, but the rooms were booked, so Maria gave us a tip to stay at her brother (Avra hotel). Soft drinks are free, some sweets and bread for breakfast too or extra breakfast, which looks nice too for extra fee.

Review 9：Room was quite hot, we had to sleep with the air co on. There were some ants in the room - no big deal, no bites or anything, just a bit annoying; Shower drain was clogged, which is ok if you're staying a couple of nights only but otherwise can be troublesome; Bathroom could use some remodeling

Review 13：The room was very comfortable, clean and cozy. Very calm and home-like atmosphere. The view from the balcony was amazing and the breakfast was served directly in the room (fresh pressed orange juice and coffee). Maria was professional, helpful and nice. We would visit this place every time again and can really recommend it to everyone!

Review 17：Next to a school so when kids go to school you can hear them going in the morning. Beach is pebbled, not sandy but free sunbeds if you can get those.

Review 18：Nice owner and a family run hotel. It is a big house with many hotels in one. Quite long drive but nice road and nice views. Great fresh fish restaurants in Agia Galini.

Review 20：The owners are very kind. The breakfast is perfect ( too much, we didn't need to have lunch), serve at the room. For the second breakfast, i told the owner that is not necessary to serve the breakfast the day after because we have to left very early in the morning. Despite that, she prepared some sandwiches, grapes, biscuits, and pita fêta so we took away and eat that at airport later.

Review 24：Very good accomodation held by the family members. Rooms are clean, owners are helpful and nice. The house is located on the hill so you have to be prepared for walks when you go to visit the center of the village or the beach. Good value for money!!!

Review 25：The bathroom in our room had the toilet and the shower quite close together. It was not a problem for us but if you have problems moving around you might want to mention this while you are booking to get a different room.

Review 26：We stayed 14 nights. Antigoni is a family owned business, owned by a family who really cares about their guests. They will make your stay as much comfortable as they possibly can and enrich your life with tips about where to go and what to see to give you the perfect trip. The rooms are simple and super clean. Equipped with AC, TV, small fridge, coffy and tea set including a kettle, etc.. The breakfast is served on your balcony if you booked one. The car park is just round the corner. We will definitely stay for some days next time in Crete to say hi and to revisit some of the places we loved so much in the area.

Review 27：For 9 days we traveled all around Crete staying in different towns and hotels every night. Our stay at Antigoni was the most comfortable and memorable due to a very welcoming reception by the hotel owners! Maria, her daughter and Stavros took good care of us and other guests offering any help, local advice, weather report, and even re-telling Greek mythology ;) In-room breakfast served on the balcony was a nice touch. Town and port is beautiful too!

Review 28：Maria and her family gave us the warmest welcome upon our arrival. We had been traveling around Crete for many days, staying at different hotels, but none had given us the feeling to be at home like the Antigoni. The breakfast was generous, fresh (fresh orange juice!) and tasty. One remarkable thing was the special care that Maria took in preparing my personal breakfast, suitable for lactose intolerant individuals. She even got the lactose free milk! The room was very clean, it had TV, a small fridge and air conditioning. It was a wonderful retreat!

Review 30：The owners were really nice. The rooms are quite small, but very clean and cozy. The breakfast was really Greek quality. There's a small shop nearby in case you need food. A parking lot just outside the window. It's located on a hill and you'll have to be prepared to climb up/down to the beach but the view is magnificent.

Review 32：From the minute we entered the hotel we received a warm friendly welcome. The hotel looked freshly decorated and is immaculately maintained. Balconies to the front and rear of the room where a huge breakfast is served. The breakfast was so large we couldn't eat it all. The location is not directly in town which is good from a noise point of view but there is a shortcut to town so you can walk there in 5 minutes. We will be back.

Review 61：The breakfast was not a buffet and the room were not very clean. On the last day when I was leaving I checked under the bed to see if I forgot anything and found a used condom. It was disgusting!Also the staff were not very friendly. When leaving an incident happened. There are two parking places for the hotel. The one near the reception and the other one up near the last rooms, so when leaving i went to take the car and go to the other parking near the reception so to check out but the hotel owner run from behind shouting at us. I suppose he thought we were leaving without paying him!Its totally unprofessional behavior because he had our credit card number from booking, so he was safe.

Review 62：Nothing really, but the address of the accoms (given as Main Street) ismisleading, as it lies on a road set back and parallel to that street.Quite a small sign pinned to a post can easily be missed.

Review 64：Located in the part of Ag.Galini where most apartments and hotels (but no restaurants/tavernas) are, high above the harbour/restaurant area. If you haven't got a car at your disposal, a somewhat problemetic location, but with a car no problem (at the harbour ample parking place is available).

Review 69：Does not worth to pay for a "Sea View", as sea view is in fact sea viewover roofs, back of some a/c and solar boiler units. Parking is at theback of the hotel, not easy to bring staff in the room. Too many stairs,difficult to move around with a baby pram.

Review 72：Very good place with friendly staff. Rooms were clean with AC [we did not use it :) ] and satellite tv [we did use it :)] We totally recommend it for the south part of the island. BTW: here we had the best breakfast :)
