Reviews for Palazzo Greco

Review 1:Staff were friendly and welcoming on our arrival late at night. The hotel was comfortable and clean, and breakfast had a good range of options. Sea view rooms are definitely better!

Review 2:Excellent breakfast with superb sea view. Beds very large and extremely comfortable Excellent shower Hotel gave my wife a surprise birthday cake and birthday wishes Excellent service

Review 3:It had rained before we arrived and the balcony was swimming with water and it was still there in the morning.

Review 4:The view from the upper floor junior suite was stunning

Review 5:Breakfast ( no bacon or sausage ) Breakfast room cramped Room facilities not as advertised ( no kitchenette or kitchware ) No in room safety deposit box

Review 6:The view fabulous The staff were very helpful

Review 7:The apartment was beautiful and the balcony had an incredible view. The walk up and down the hill to the beach was a bit steep but the hotel can't do anything about that and it helped work off some of the big lunches we ate! Plus the view wouldn't have been so spectacular if it hadn't been for the hill. Wifi signal was so good you could pick it up at the beach! The bed was huge and very comfy which they made every day, fresh sheets 3 times a week. Very quiet, lovely touches in the hotel and nice friendly (but not overbearing) staff. Breakfasts were probably fine for the German/Scandinavian guests but did not really suit an English palette, but the bread was lovely and we never went hungry. Self catering facilities were pretty basic but we weren't planning to cook anyway so didn't bother us - there was a working fridge which was all we needed. Wouldn't recommend the Agia Galini walking guide (discover Agia Galini on foot) unless you're happy to get lost, are wearing sturdy footwear, and take lots of water with you! Did find a stunning church on that walk though. Had a really really lovely time, real gem of a hotel.

Review 8:Poor storage facilities in room. Very small wardrobe and no chest of drawers.

Review 9:Almost everything. The staff were excellent and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Review 10:We booked a junior suite but we were put in a double room. We complained and then they moved us to a cramped junior suite. The wash and basin was nest to the front door. The bathroom was tiny and there was lots of black mould all around the shower tray and the shower tray filled up when you were showering. The breakfast was acceptable but cold fried eggs was the only hot breakfast available .

Review 11:Location overlooking the sea

Review 12:We had a room to the road. It could be noisy. The floor in the bedroom wasn't swept regularly, even though the staff was in.

Review 13:A lovely hotel with gorgeous views over the bay. An excellent selection of different foods for breakfast. The beds were very comfortable. In the village within a couple of minutes

Review 14:We booked a standard room and we overlooked the main road. We like to leave the door open at night and were initially a bit concerned about safety. This wasn't an issue, but the road was a bit noisy early morning.

Review 15:The cliff top location means that the hotel has wonderful views over the bay and harbour. It is also equidistant from the beach and harbour/town. The hotel was very welcoming and there were lots of different choices of food for breakfast, including cretan specialities.

Review 16:We loved our room with its chandelier and balcony overlooking the sea. Amazing breakfast -buffet of hot and cold dishes -everything you could possibly want. Close to town centre and restaurants. Staff very friendly.

Review 17:I loved the location, close to the restaurants, shops and beach, but not too close so that you can enjoy the peace and quiet. A modern hotel, very clean with very helpful and friendly staff

Review 18:We had one of the suits on the 3rd floor which was great but do not book a room on the ground or lower floor as there is little or no privacy. There was a smell of sewage each evening coming from the next door hotel which was not very nice.

Review 19:TYhe location of this hotel is ideal both for the beach and the village with all its Tavernas. The hotel is situated on the top of the hill overlooking the harbour with South Easterly views

Review 20:- Junior suites were quite basic - Room was at garden level and had no designated veranda, etc which meant other guests were sunbathing just outside our door and constantly looking into the room. There was a real lack of personal space or privacy and consequently we had to keep the curtains drawn when inside during the day. The staff didn't want to know when it was addressed. All round disappointing for a 4 star. - Poor value and not a boutique hotel.

Review 21:- Comfortable bed

Review 22:Room looking to grassed area lots if people sunbathing and children playing felt everyone looking in to room

Review 23:Excellent locations to beach & town staff good and attentive

Review 24:>> Room - before renovation, too small, not clean, without TV, old and dilapidated furniture, access to the bed only from one side >> Bathroom - not clean, tub with curtain >> to get to elevator you must take 6-7 steps >> breakfast - little choice, the average freshness and quality

Review 25:>> Agia Galini is nice place to spend one (only one) night. >> building, the lobby - after renovation >> If you book room with sea view it will be direct sea view. >> restaurant with tarras with amazing view to the sea >> parking for free

Review 26:Breakfast was disappointing - went down half way through service and bacon was finished as were mushrooms and tomatoes - asked for more and there was none! Saw a waitress refilling cutlery baskets with clean (?) cutlery straight from dishwasher basket sorting them by holding their tines, blades and bowls - no gloves, no cloth! Staff are friendly but general service is NOT 4 star!

Review 27:the view over the Libyan sea is spectacular but you need to pay for a sea view or you will be VERY disappointed. The bed was so comfortable, best nights sleep for months!

Review 28:Breakfast: Not everything was appetizing, food seemed to be prepared very early in the morning (or the day before) and therefore it became a bit touch dry...maybe cover plates would have prevented this effect

Review 29:Central location, guest room with sea view, parking space directly in front of the hotel, helpfull stuff

Review 30:At the lowest floor, noise when breakfast room is prepared

Review 31:Beautiful view over the sea Spacious hotel room with fancy interior. Hotel located in quiet and peaceful little town.

Review 32:Breakfast had lots of options but could be improved esp with regards to the juices available (diluting juice!) and the quality of the coffee which wasn't great.

Review 33:We had the two bedroom suite which was lovely. Nice views from an elevated position to the beach and little harbour. There was a small garden with pool and sunloungers which we didn't use as the beaches in this part of crete are great. Can spend a week in agia galini as plenty shops etc all within walking distance, but best to hire car and explore surrounding area and beaches. Bear in mind mountainous terrain and windy roads tho! There's a covered hotel car park across the road.

Review 34:Building/rooms not very well taken care of, some minor damages on the walls everywhere, will probably soon need renovation Quite good variety at the breakfast buffet, but they can't really expect anyone to pay 2,50€ extra for fresh orange juice! That's absolutely inappropriate! For 100€ per night this should definitely be included!

Review 35:Great location, terrace quite big with beautiful view on the sea (room on second floor) Staff at reception very friendly, greated us with some cold water and a piece of homemade cake

Review 36:No evening sunshine Expensive compared to other hotels offering the samesort of thing Small sitting area outside by the pool - only one SpaceWith afternoon sunshine until about 5pm (in august) Very old smallcooking stove in the room, not really a place for making your own food.

Review 37:Comfortable bed Good bathroom Sitting Space good, fantastic view overthe Libyan sea and coastline towards Matala Good Choice at breakfast andyou can eat outside Lift to the rooms

Review 38:Reception wasn't always manned very attentively, but it never took long to get somebody to help.

Review 39:Very helpful staff, who spoke good english. View from front of hotel, with pool, terrace and some sea-facing rooms is unbeatable. Rooms comfortable, nice balconies and Wifi worked very well.

Review 40:You could hear every noise from the next room - very thin wall cavities

Review 41:The view from the pool

Review 42:Very helpful and friendly staff

Review 43:Nothing

Review 44:The location and the view .

Review 45:Very smelly bathroom

Review 46:The view (sea, harbour and tallest mountain in Crete at the same time), the extremely diverse breakfast, quietness.

Review 47:Location between beach and port, great views.

Review 48:Everthing , the staff are very helpful The location is brilliant Its Comfortable Relaxing Its Greek XX

Review 49:With a beautiful 'sea view' aspect. Clean - friendly - stylish - nicely appointed rooms - quiet location - quality breakfast.

Review 50:Size of the kettle if im being really really petty......

Review 51:Everything........Apart from the kettle....Cracking hotel.....

Review 52:Beach was shocking

Review 53:The comfortable bed, toiletries and facilities

Review 54:There is no mountain view...just road view. No hanger or chair to leave our things. No TV

Review 55:The way beds were fitted every morning

Review 56:Almost all

Review 57:Feral cats begging for food at breakfast tables without being removed by staff.

Review 58:Sea view. Room size. Clean, spacious and light communal areas.

Review 59:Tremendous view, friendly and helpful staff, family run.

Review 60:Friendly staff, nice sea view, comfortable rooms, nice food and drink.

Review 61:We had an amazing stay everything was perfect

Review 62:We have stayed here before and decided to bring my daughter, son in law and grandson for a week. They also loved it. The family who own the hotel are so friendly, the breakfasts are delicious and the place is spotless. We will certainly stay there again.

Review 63:Only one suggestion to the manager: please do your best in order fresh orange juice will not be an extra at breakfast, at least the first one! Thank you and keep improving to remain always the best in Agia Galini!

Review 64:I was in this hotel 4 years ago and I booked it again because it had a stunning view, a very safe closed parking, a convenient pool, excellent apartments and the right price for the services they offered. Now, I am pleased to say that they have a new crystal lift, a really super breakfast served in extremely clean displays and the quickest and kindest check in or check out (even if we did not wanted to leave!) The location is up hill with an amphiteatrical view of the beach, the harbor and the village at your feet. You can cross the front garden terrace and walk down to the village to find nice tavernas and cafes and , at the left side of the shore there is a nice beach to swim and relax. At Palazzo Greco, if you choose a room or an apartment with sea view you’ll feel literally on top of the world.

Review 65:In the second bedroom was the jacuzzi style bath tub--this was a bit ofa surprise to us as we thought it was in its own separate bathroom. Thebeds were typical European firm. There wasn't really enough pots todo any real cooking but there were plates, silverware and glasses whichwas adequate. The breakfast buffet was ok with a bit of variety--but weended up just getting some breakfast items at the local store and eatingin our room.

Review 66:We booked a two bedroom suite with a sea view and the room was very nicewith a vaulted ceiling that made it feel more spacious than it alreadywas. The staff was friendly upon arrival and even offered us a smallpastry while checking in. Having dedicated hotel parking was also verynice as most other hotels right in town lacked that. The location ofAgia Galini was a good departure point for Phaistos, Gortyn, numeroussouthern beaches, small labyrinth and a winery tour. There's also abicycle rental center in town that rents fairly high end road andmountain bicycles--be warned though it is very hilly in this area ofCrete and every ride starts and ends with a fairly good climb, youcertainly need to be in shape to ride here. All in all this is a verygood hotel in a good location if you're looking for a quietlocation, proximity to archeological sites and pretty goodcycling/running.

Review 67:Hill to walk up and down from the harbour!

Review 68:They have their own parking, although this may be cramped during high season. Breakfast was excellent. Sea views lovely. Good base for exploring the area. Nice little town.

Review 69:Bathroom was not cleaned properly, toilet was leaking. Brekfast quality was not good.

Review 70:Location. But i suggest that you take sea view roo, mountain view is just a view of the oposite building and comes together with the street noise.

Review 71:Nothing really.

Review 72:Wonderfully friendly and professional staff. Knowledgeable about the area. Very nice hotel with several parking spaces in front and covered parking across the street. Excellent value for the price. Breakfast was amazing! will definitely be staying there again?

Review 73:Beautiful position fine views across the bay to distant mountains. Lovely pool, sunny most of day. Excellent breakfast and staff. Walk downhill one way to beach and other way to village centre by harbour.

Review 74:Sea view rooms are very much nicer than 'mountain' view

Review 75:The staff were lovely, very friendly and most accommodating . It's very well placed for the town & beach

Review 76:The bed were not bad, but not at the same standard as the rest of the hotel.

Review 77:The view from our room (far better than expected), stunning. The pool, ideally located, surrounding the Lybian sea. Room #1, #2 & #3 are the best, if you can afford it. Overall, exceeded our (already high) expectations.

Review 78:Details that could be adjusted: small closet to hang your clothes in the room, the tap in the bathroom should be renewed, at breakfast it would be nice to have more variation of fruit. But these are details.

Review 79:Nice environment, very friendly and helpfull staff and management. Immediately got a softer matrass when I asked for it. Perfect laundry service. Take a room with sea view: fantastic. Calm hotel. Nearby sea (some meters up and down the hill, good dayly workout). And nearby the center with great restaurants. Really good hotel for Cretan 4star cathegory.

Review 80:Really nice, well kept hotel with excellent friendly service. Breakfasts were good. Nice and relaxing around the pool. The pool was clean and gardens well maintained. Good location between village and beach both just a short stroll away.

Review 81:Having to leave.

Review 82:Magical The hotel Palazzo Greco was one of the nicest hotel experiences I've ever had. The recption was heartfelt. The room although simple had everything needed. The view over the pool of the sea was beautiful The breakfast fresh inventive and delicious. I would give this hotel 10 out of 10

Review 83:I confirm the minus'es below (fake orange juice, next door noice during the day [nights were mostly quiet, depending on the neighbours]). Some of the family running the hotel are nice & friendly to any-one, others clearly prefer couples or families iso solo travellers.

Review 84:An OK place in Agia Galini, lots of parking space outside. Magnificent view. Rather OK WiFi for Crete standards.

Review 85:Wifi didn't work but they offered immediately to get some professional help.

Review 86:Very well located, close to the beach and the port. Seaview was great. We stayed one night in a double room with seaview and we loved it. Friendly staff.

Review 87:Everything was excellent! Nothing to point ...

Review 88:I loved everything! It is a familiar boutique Hotel from the best i haver seen! Superb views! Superb design! Congratulations!

Review 89:We booked a two bedroom, two bath suite, but when we checked in we only had one bathroom. I had emailed a couple of months in advance to be sure we in fact had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and was assured that we did. Apparently there is another 2 bedroom suite that has a jacuzzi in the living area with an additional toilet so they consider that 2 bathrooms, but this one was not available when we checked in and so the 4 of us had to share one bathroom. We would have booked 2 individual rooms if we had known that this would be the case. They should not advertise these suites as 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Review 90:The staff is very nice and the location of the hotel is lovely, high on a bluff overlooking the sea. The breakfast was very good and being able to enjoy it on the terrace was wonderful

Review 91:Excellent breakfast; Personal touch of the (young) owners, always ready to help e.g. with a softer matras for my wife, or a call to a nearby restaurant

Review 92:The outside public spaces could become very crowded if the hotel was busy, but we came in low season.

Review 93:We enjoyed a sea view room and small terrace. The hotel is clean and bright, recently modernised and the staff were very helpful. The breakfasts were very good.

Review 94:The sea-views were fantastic and it was far enough from the centre of the vliiage not to be disturbed, but close enough to everything to feel part of the place.

Review 95:Perfect place for easygoing and restful vacation, - personalised and attentive service, very comfortable stay, good food, nice design of rooms, - you feel as if you were at home

Review 96:It was a best holiday for us with very friendly calmest wellcom!!! Lovely place !!! And we were very very happy there !!! Hotel is located on the steep with very beautiful view on the sea!!! You can't imagine how marvelous you will feel when you waked up under sunrise!!! Especially when you in love and spending your honey moon at this place!!!!

Review 97:Great hotel staff ready to help at any time,Excellent breakfast Clean hotel room and room service over the expected In short the best hotel in Ayia Galina,Excellent hotel location amazing views אפשר הקלדה פונטית עברית אנגלית ספרדית אפשר הקלדה פונטית עברית אנגלית ספרדית עברית אנגלית ספרדית

Review 98:we were waiting for 3 hours to check in the hotel(time for them goes slow).if I analyse the prize and quality is low!suite is so expensive for the room(a bit little) tuvimos que esperar 3 horas para que nos hicieran la habitación y si se analiza la relación calidad precio creo que sería poco equilibrio la habitacion es pequeña para ser suite.

Review 99:the view of the hotel is the best thing there is. we had a junior suite and it was the room with views of the swiming pool and the sea. Also the hotel is situated between the walk to go to the beach and the centre of the city. lo mejor del hotel son las vistas y se encuentra entre el paseo a la playa y el centro del pueblo

Review 100:Noise from a huge party of young men in hallways & rooms until earlyhours. For 2 nights. Hotel staff never made effort to talk to usabout recommendations things to do in area. But housekeeping ladieswere lovely.

Review 101:Location between beach & town.

Review 102:What an amazing view!!! The hotel is elegant and it was worthy of itsmoney. The stuff friendly and discrete. I had ana amazing time ...cannotwait to go back.I Would recomend it without hesitation to everyone....

Review 103:No fres orange juice at breakfast but they promised to change that.

Review 104:This is a great hotel. Very kind personel! A great breakfast. Nice rooms and situated in the splendid little town Agia Galini, on the cliff! The breakfast view is extraordinary! The new lift is very handy We will certainly return there!!

Review 105:Junior suite slightly smaller than I thought it would be. A littleoverpriced for Ayia Galini. Nets on windows would be good -lots ofmosquitos. Maybe a washing line -towels,bikinis kept blowing away.

Review 106:Bright fresh boutique hotel with stunning views. Quiet, peaceful and ina very good location between the beach and main town of Ayia Galini.Worth paying the extra for a sea view! Junior suite has a small kitchenarea suitable for tea coffees and snacks. Buffet breakfast very nice andwith sea view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Review 107:The position with uninterrupted views of the sea and a pedestrian route down to the town is very good and it is quiet at night. Breakfast was very good and could be taken outside on a lovely terrace. The design of the two bed suite was a little strange. The sitting and dining area was very spacious and opened onto a nice balcony. The second bedroom just fitted a double bed with a bath tub in one corner, there were two wash basins in the hallway and a shower and toliet in a separate room. The main bedroom was a good size although the bed was much firmer than we like. Parking was free and very easy immediately outside the hotel. The lift (very unusual on our trip) was outside our room and we were a bit worried about noise, but it is brand new and very quiet so no problems at all and it was much appreciated for the luggage.

Review 108:The wonderful position of the hotel and the kindest staff ever. Kind Stefania, expecially, was very helpful exceeding our expectations. Good breakfast. Excellent value for money

Review 109:Leaving

Review 110:The view from a "sea view" room is worth the drive alone.

Review 111:Rooms with mountain view a little noisy as face the main road into the town.

Review 112:Really friendly family ownership. Breakfasts lovely.

Review 113:Quality of hotel: great breakfast and terrace overlooking the sea; own balcony with sea views,; kingsize bed and proper shower

Review 114:10+

Review 115:Town was pretty touristy, but beach end was better.

Review 116:Fabulous location on the cliff. Nice welcome on arrival.

Review 117:Most amasing view. Nice little hotel. Freindly athosphere.

Review 118:Roof squeaking disturbed our rest on some windy nights

Review 119:Seaview, pleasant staff, tasty breakfast, leasure facilities

Review 120:the orange juice for breakfast

Review 121:Very friendly staff, fantastic view from seaside balcony, fantastic teracce for breakfast, very good service

Review 122:Nice place. Friendly staff. Easy going.
