Reviews for Savill Court Hotel
Review 1:Expensive bowl Of very ordinary soup - not good value The single room was not as in the website photo - so small you couldn't sit at the desk to work
Review 2:Excellent service Clean Gym and pool are good
Review 3:Nothing the hotel was invoked with but a misbehaving family in the spa/pool which tainted it slightly for me
Review 4:The staff were brilliant every single one of them were friendly
Review 5:The interior did not match the expectation from the outside. The features have been removed making it rather sterile and the same as any modern hotel. It was also cold not warm and inviting. The shower water was Luke warm!
Review 6:Lovely location. Staff were very helpful.
Review 7:Very noisy in rooms near the great hall which hosts very loud music till one in the morning. Impossible to sleep. Shower seal was disgusting and needs replacing. Shame as rest of hotel is immaculate
Review 8:Staff and food excellent. Very nice spa
Review 9:The shower lever was broken and mould in the cubicle. The bar/restaurant manager was rude to his staff in front of customers and actually made the service worse. At breakfast we were given dirty cutlery and made to feel rushed. Trying to call reception was virtually impossible and the waiting time at reception desk was unacceptable for the star rating. Spa accessories such as robes were not readily available and the pool was freezing cold. I was also made to pay in full upon arrival which is a little odd to say the least. We were unable to use the apparently available wifi during our entire stay.
Review 10:The grounds were beautiful, the hotel itself delightfully pretty. I was given breakfast free after complaining about dirty cutlery.
Review 11:Finding the room was an interesting process. Hard work with luggage and at the end of a busy day. Front desk staff not so helpful.
Review 12:Short trip to the airport in the morning Bar staff was excellent - helpful, friendly and knowledgeable Gym and other facilities looked good but due to short stay didn't use
Review 13:Room 60. I'd asked for a good room after a difficult week. The night manager chose a room on the ground floor that all other guests had to pass in order to get to there room. I was up all night with my door chain rattling every time someone passed. On the second day they upgraded me however and I got an upgrade
Review 14:The food
Review 15:I didn't like having to leave.
Review 16:This has a real English feel about it. It is very luxurious and comfortable. The Restaurant food and service is amazing. I stayed here 3 years ago, and couldn't wait to go back with my husband. He loved it too.
Review 17:- Very much felt the hotel was run to meet a margin, obviously all hotels are, but you don't like to feel it as a guest; Eg no conditioner in Spa, no robes in rooms and buffet breakfast was all rather floppy and grey (think motorway service station fare). We complained and breakfast (£17ish a head)was taken off the bill which was good. -The bedside lampshades in our room were both split and damaged. -Decor inside wasn't in keeping with the character of the building and the yellow hall carpet looks like it was chosen by someone on drugs.... very strong drugs! -The bar has few seats, couldn't get one at 6pm so ordered drinks in our room with dinner.
Review 18:Location good for Windsor Great Park. Good room service food. Good for corporate events and work. I'd be happy to stay here if a was working. Library room was lovely, but was cleared possibly for an event? Good staff for room service and front of house. Executive rooms nice size. Nice bed. Good bathroom.
Review 19:Bed extremely uncomfortable, no storage space in wardrobe, loud music in hall until midnight, room was the smallest ever seen in any hotel.
Review 20:Gym and pool were fine
Review 21:A very nice hotel. We did have an issue with an extractor fan outside our room but we were immediately moved to another room when this issue was raised. Unfortunately the room we were moved to had some unpleasant drain smells but being typically British we didn't like to complain again! However, when we mentioned this on checking out just to let them know the problem, we were immediately given 30% discount on our bill We were so impressed that we stayed there a second time after our week of travel.
Review 22:We originally booked on a discounted rate, the event was cancelled, when we rebooked the price was considerably higher and based on the occupied single rooms represented very poor value for money, check-in was bland. We would not return or recommend
Review 23:The reception staff were slow to react to any problems and I had to request the Manager to get involved. The problems were quickly resolved once the Manager was aware.
Review 24:Incredible location near Windsor Great Park. Lovely grounds, beautiful country house, nice rooms especially the Executive Rooms. The outdoor patio for breakfast was also very pleasant on a sunny day. Good car parking and good wifi
Review 25:Not enough beds around the pool. Didn't like getting ripped off from the bar manager trying to charge for non existent drinks and overcharging. However when we complained the hotel manager could not have been more helpful.
Review 26:The surrounding grounds of the property are excellent. The spa facilities are quite good.
Review 27:Not that we watched T.V much on our 2 night stay but would have been nice to have satalite T.V
Review 28:Clean,comfortable,nice spa and polite staff. great relaxing 2 night stay and onlt 10 mins from windsor town centre. would book again.
Review 29:very stuffy place, need air conditioning in the hotel breakfast poor,no choose of ham or chees Other than that great place
Review 30:Lovely place,staff very friendly.
Review 31:As it was the bank holiday weekend there were weddings on both days of our stay which made the hotel and staff very busy but that was understandable and would just avoid that time in future.
Review 32:This is our 3rd stay at savil court and it certainly won't be our last we love it here. The hotel and grounds are lovely.
Review 33:The outside roof mounted airconditioner came on when the function room was being used. It was way too loud for the rooms in the garden wing especially at the higher floors. The airconditioner unit needs to be replaced I am sure the noise level would exceed the statutory levels allowed in the UK.
Review 34:The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and is so close to Heathrow and Greater Windsor Park and only 30 minutes train ride to London. The senior staff members in reception and restaurant/bar were excellent.
Review 35:Air con wasn't available as it is a listed building but they accommodated with fans and other personal Touches
Review 36:Busy venue but staff very Accommodating to to their best and they followed up With our enquiries all big and small
Review 37:The weddings going on went into main area where anyone could go .. staff could not seem to cope and priorities where with the weddings. We Had to wait an hour and half for a very simple lunch if we had of been told it was sucha long wait it would have been fine ...We could have gone somewhere else.
Review 38:Location. .. surroundings. .. nice local pubs. .. nice pool /spa area.
Review 39:The rooms were very very hot, there was no air conditioning, and a very small window, and fan that just blew the hot air around. I booked a superior room and queried the room with reception and they assured me I had the correct room, but when other family members arrived the next day and they had booked a standard room there room was exactly the same. It was a bit of a shambles at breakfast they run out of sugar and trying to get some tea, coffee and toast order proved very difficult.
Review 40:The location was good, the hotel was nice
Review 41:I had a very peaceful and relaxing stay. The staff were very helpful, and the facilities at the hotel seemed clean and well maintained (special mention to the pool and changing rooms!) My room was small but perfectly set out.
Review 42:First room we were given was below standard. Got moved to another room which was as expected. Retsurant was a little disappointing and felt breakfast was very overpriced.
Review 43:Location was nice and quiet
Review 44:Small hot stuffy room with small windows. Being woken up by domestic pigeons on the roof outside the bedroom window. Quoted £17.00 each for a breakfast when checking in. Someone charging a Pint of carling, a meal and a breakfast to our room
Review 45:Leisure facilities
Review 46:Pool spa area heavenly. Young trainee on reception was very attentive and couldn't do enough for us . The greek bar man was very polite attentive . Lovely few days away would recommend highly to friends and family.
Review 47:Bit of noise from a fan outside my bedroom. other than that it was a very enjoyable stay.
Review 48:friendly, helpful staff. They answered all requests positively. Food in the restaurant was delicious
Review 49:Shower a little snug! Unable to get a booking for dinner. The thumping noise of a child running around the room upstairs
Review 50:Service very good. Bed very comfortable. Eating breakfast on the terrace
Review 51:Classic double room a little small and shower was a little small. Receptionist was very polite but had no knowledge of the fox and hound pub to give directions just 0.5 miles away. But the other receptionist was great. We didn't include breakfast as 17.50 per person was a little expensive in my opinion.
Review 52:Great bar staff.
Review 53:Size of the rooms was diabolically small. Probably the smallest I have stayed in- initially offered one that was even smaller than the one I ended up in(complained)-no air con- pigeons on the roof waken you from 6am onwards-
Review 54:Lovely location set in beautiful grounds. Staff very friendly although reception was always 3 deep. Girl called Katie(supervisor?) was very helpful and credit to the hotel
Review 55:We were put in a room above the spa on the 3rd floor and it was extremely hot! Unbearable! Decor tatty. Diamond earrings went missing after room was cleaned.
Review 56:Staff tried to sort things out. We liked the location as we had a wedding at the royal chapel.
Review 57:Room to hot, extractor fan in bathroom didn't work making the already hot room even hotter. One of the cups was chipped and cracked and the complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates as stated in our welcome letter were never received. Body lotion was in the room on the first day but was removed and never replaced.
Review 58:Location and grounds. Didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment on those.
Review 59:Bathroom window would not open, so could not let out the steam from shower. No air con, but fan provided. Breakfast expensive. Bit noisy as wedding going on.
Review 60:Great position for Guards Polo, Windsor, etc. Complimentary wine, chocs, bathrobes. Exceedingly helpful and polite staff.
Review 61:The room it should have been an exsecutive room and looking over the garden we looked over the bins awful we have not had a holiday for four years and this is what we got absolute rubbish room and not happy especially how much it cost for this
Review 62:Nothing all was great
Review 63:Food room and staff excellent service was excellent and great value for money would have stayed longer if possible and will definitely stay with you again
Review 64:Quite far from engelfield green or egham, and buses don't run in that area as the hotel is actually in the forest. Room service was not very good,my room was not vacuum cleaned and they wouldn't put new towels and soap in the bathroom for ages.
Review 65:It was a nice hotel situated in a very beautiful area,Great Winsdor Park is only 10 minutes away. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 66:The passenger lift was very poor and the upstairs corridors needed a little freshning up.
Review 67:Staff and service levels were first class as well as our breakfast, the room and its facilities.
Review 68:very small room/wardrobe and shower room and very noisy function until midnight. Inside lacks the period features the outside promises and seems more like a conference/wedding venue than a country hotel.
Review 69:staff charming and changed our first room as it was too hot and noisy. The outside of building/grounds very nice.
Review 70:King sized bed would be nice in a deluxe room.
Review 71:Beautiful setting. Very helpful and attentive staff, who were very professional but also very friendly and went out of their way to ensure our stay was enjoyable.
Review 72:Breakfast at £18 was a little expensive, especially for children, but would stay here again.
Review 73:The location to Heathrow was a great asset in a beautiful garden setting. The hotel was very clean and staff helpful
Review 74:No air conditioning so very difficult to sleep and a very small TV! My mother stayed in a single room which was no bigger than a box! Breakfast is extra for £17.50 a bit extortionate! As harvester done the road was £4.99! Hotel mainly caters for business clients corporate events and weddings l)which during our stay the grounds were overrun with ? Team building events) very noisy! ! The leisure and family travellers are a bit forgotten! The staff were lovely but this hotel just feels part of a big chain and lacks the personal touch!
Review 75:Beautiful location with extensive grounds Lovely spa area with indoor swimming pool Lovely staff
Review 76:Breakfast prices a bit extreme
Review 77:Lovely surroundings, staff lovely, nice food not unreasonable prices for evening meals, great pool, good location for train to London direct to waterloo (40 mins) so ideal for London eye etc
Review 78:King sized bed in a deluxe double room would be nice, but overall a small complaint
Review 79:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Wonderful grounds, comfortable room to retire to.
Review 80:Our room was near the spa and was not air conditioned which meant that even on a mediocre day the room was incredibly hot. There was a fan in the room though, which we used and did help a bit. Restaurant experience was good for breakfast, not so for dinner as orders were incorrect and service was a bit patchy.
Review 81:We stayed here to go to Royal Ascot and the hotel is very well placed for this. Pleasant surroundings and very friendly staff. Room very clean. I would staff here again.
Review 82:The grounds were beautiful, the building was lovely and the staff, particularly the bar staff (as in this was who we had most to do with!) were very polite and couldn't do enough for us. A wonderful trip topped off by a very accommodating stay!
Review 83:There is no air conditioning in the hotel. It wasn't a hot day and the rooms were like saunas. Goodness knows what it's like when the sun is shining. Only had two small windows facing a wall so we couldn't get much air through. One window was screwed down so couldn't open it anyway. Shame about the view. We had chocolates in our room on arrival, unfortunately they had melted in the heat and the water was warm. The shower was so tiny it was quite uncomfortable.
Review 84:Staff very friendly and accommodating. Hotel was clean and tidy and had lovely grounds. Good location for ascot.
Review 85:TV didn't work. Safe didn't work, which was a bit of a worry. Friends in another room said their safe didn't work either. No air con, but they did provide us with a fan.
Review 86:The location was great. Very close to Heathrow and Ascot, which is why we were there. The staff very helpful and charming, and had a sense of humour!Spa was great - one of the nicest pools in this type of hotel. We plan to be back next year.
Review 87:Main door to room rattled when people walked past in the corridor, keeping us awake. No air conditioning in the room, small fan set up but the sound kept us awake.
Review 88:Location, bar area, grounds, nice welcme pack of wine and water. good bathroom and shower.
Review 89:The bedrooms were tiny and very hot The double room was only suitable in size for single person
Review 90:Loved the location & the building The staff were excellent
Review 91:The hotel was hard to find as it was not in the centre of Windsor, nor within walking distance of any of Windsor's attractions.
Review 92:It was a luxurious hotel, set in beautiful grounds. Cleaning staff were honest as they turned in a parcel we left behind, and so it was returned to us.
Review 93:Very pokey room, no air con and very humid. Even though the hotel wasn't full I was stuffed in a single room at the back of the hotel. The management should consider this when trying to make an impression. Staff were ok but it felt like they didn't want to there. Breakfast was poor, for the price I was expecting it to be better than a 1970s Faulty Towers style. Sorry but I travel a lot and this hotel needs to be modernised.
Review 94:Lovely hotel, very clean and good facilities
Review 95:As our stay was only one night the price was on the high side but still very acceptable for the hotel.
Review 96:Beautiful location, stunning views, Ideally located for walks in to Windsor and great staff.
Review 97:we booked for 2 nights, first night our room was overlooking a skip, had no walk in shower and had red cord pulls for emergency. We moved for the second night to the floor above, had the same views but at least we had a walk in shower, although the room was very hot with only a small fan . I would not recommend this hotel.
Review 98:On arrival only one room ready signed for that on return from the golf they said they had no second room booked ,shown confirmation after 25 mins finally got the other room. Staff did not seem to want to make a decision on the room. Rooms exceptionally small . Indian wedding on so could not book the restaurant for the evening meal. This we should have been told about in advance. We were on the first floor the music of the wedding kept us awake as did the noise of the guests. To cap all this at 5 in the morning more movement, noise and slamming of doors from the wedding followed by delivery of statues the van parked under our window and the tail gate and drills made sure we were awake. Thought we had booked in for breakfast and hadn't. Reception staff didn't know what to do re the booking . No room tea and coffee milk had to be ordered via room service.. 4. Stars ... No bathrobes ..had to eat in the bar as restaurant occupied with the wedding limited menu ended up with sandwiches and chips. Far from impressed and would not recommend it. Cannot understand why we were not put in rooms as far away from the wedding celebrations or advised the wedding was on
Review 99:The new member of the bar staff he had only been there two days and was by far the best advert for the hotel
Review 100:Noise which was coming from the lift next to the room each time it was used (while I specifically asked for a room in a quiet area...).
Review 101:Location and Facilities are good
Review 102:Big drawback was noise! Fri night was noisy enough but Sat night there was a function not just music but loud microphone as if I was in the same room! Not a good nights sleep while I was there.
Review 103:Staff were friendly. Comfortable room though the shower room is minuscule. Great location.
Review 104:They shoulders the worst room possible when we first arrived and change it when asked for an improvement
Review 105:It had a great location Close to Wentworth golf club
Review 106:Late night noise from other guests in the bar and on the terrace. Noise from extractor fan on flat roof close to our window.
Review 107:Location; efficient reception; helpful and friendly staff; spacious and generally well maintained, extensive and well kept grounds, large car park
Review 108:The size of room was on the smaller size than expected. It's location was on the second floor above the front entrance. We were kept awake into the early hours by the engine running of a vehicle left outside the entrance for what appeared to be hours. We were then woken up again by a running vehicle engine at approximately 5.00am and remained running for sometime. On leaving we were massively over charged. An large lunch and drinks had been added. We had checked ii during late afternoon and out after breakfast. We then noted that this had been post dated. It was removed after it was brought to the attention of the reception staff.
Review 109:Clean and tidy rooms and common areas. Good bar food and good spa facilties
Review 110:Drinks were very expensive food was very good area across from main reception was a mess chairs fridges litter old shed looked very messy not very good for this type of hotel would not cost a lot of money to tidy up
Review 111:Hotel was very clean modern
Review 112:Not enough made of historic features. No visitor info in room. Quality of food, perhaps trying to be something it isnt quite yet, bland flavours.
Review 113:Country location. Historic details particularly in the bar. Verandah seating. Room and bathroom decor. Lovely house red wine. Staff appearance and attitude.
Review 114:Although the staff weren't unpleasant I didn't feel they were particularly inviting.
Review 115:Although there was a wedding and a conference on the hotel was sufficiently big enough to be away from the crowd. Great location between Virginia Water and Windsor.
Review 116:Overpriced,. Restaurant a total disappointment for a celebration, resembled a canteen facility, not an extension of the very nice bar area.
Review 117:Staff helpful, welcoming.
Review 118:I booked 2 triple rooms with booking.com. When we checked in we were given 2 double rooms which were very small and had no space for an extra pull-down bed. The hotel was full so we could not change rooms, not very happy as specifically requested 2 x triples.
Review 119:The staff were lovely.
Review 120:Walls are very thin and could here next doors morning snd there phone vibrating, toilet didn't flush well and room was very hot
Review 121:Friendly staff and great location and lovely spa
Review 122:I actually forgot some of my belongings and after realizing and calling the hotel the staff did confirm that all had been found & safely stored away awaiting for my return.
Review 123:Unfortunately, a wedding was booked in at the same time as my visit. I was in room 141; bedroom walls are paper-thin. Consequently, the din from the disco kept me awake in the evening, whilst noise from adjacent rooms and children running up and down the corridors woke me early in the morning. I suggest potential customers check with the hotel what other events have been scheduled made prior to making a booking. Please be aware that 'confidential' conversations will not be private - your neighbour will hear every word!
Review 124:The hotel building and grounds are lovely. Windsor Park is a stone's throw from the hotel, so a picturesque walk is on the door step.
Review 125:The bed was comfortable but was actually just a pull down type that you'd get in a bedsit! I didn't eat there so cant comment on food. Nice and peaceful though.
Review 126:Great pool and sauna/spa facilities, friendly helpful staff.
Review 127:Food was good but portions weren't very generous. Also no proper decaff coffee only instant which was disappointing in a venue of this calibre.
Review 128:Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Location was beautiful. Plenty of parking close by.
Review 129:There was a wedding going on the same day which made us feel a bit in the way while being at in the bar.
Review 130:Food was good but expensive. Swimming pool was good as was the cleaniness of the room.
Review 131:For some rooms, stairs must be negotiated. Only an issue during check in and checkout, when there is luggage to drag up/down stairs.
Review 132:Health club & SPA
Review 133:Interior décor. Eating in the bar (better menu than restaurant) was difficult at low tables.
Review 134:Hotel is set in its own grounds near Windsor Great Park. Staff are cheerful and professional all over the hotel. Swimming pool and spa were high quality. Good choice of hot food at breakfast.
Review 135:we didnt like leaving.
Review 136:We liked the smiley faces of the reception team. Kristy was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The room was perfect..The food was yummy. The staff were brilliant..The party was amazing fun..The massage by Lucy in the spa was well handled!!
Review 137:We enjoyed the pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. All clean, plenty of towels. Room was good, warm at a very cold time of year. Friendly staff.
Review 138:Hard to find and quite out of the way No idea of my booking when I got there Front desk staff quite arrogant - made issues where they didn't exist. Poor.
Review 139:Lots of parking close by Overall look of the hotel - not exploited enough Wi-fi and the room with fireplace to start the days' work Quiet - peaceful
Review 140:The disgusting smell in the room (we had one at the end of the building) - a bit like a mix of damp and cigarettes. At least one of the lights in the room wasn't working and the bedspread was dirty. The fact that the hotel was overrun by an awards ceremony on the evening that we stayed so there was no chance of getting near the bar. The hotel was just very dull and lacking in any kind of atmosphere - was very disappointed that i'd booked it for our first child-free break in years - romantic it was not!!
Review 141:The staff were all fabulous, without exception. Very eager to please and extremely courteous. Lovely breakfast. The spa area and pool, although these were taken up by a 50th birthday party when we visited. The situation of the hotel so close to Windsor Great Park.
The Fine Print
