Reviews for Guston House
Review 1:We arrived earlier than the appointed check-in time of 4pm and were greeted by the owner, Scott, who promptly showed us to our room. The room was beautifully decorated and had both a closet and dresser. The double bed was firm but comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and supplied with shower products. There was tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits available in the room, which was a fantastic surprise. Our room had a view of the garden with a small waterfall and coy pond. A pub, "The Chance Inn", is just two houses away and the food, drinks and people were warm and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. Finally, location, location, location!
Review 2:I didn't like the weather, it was raining but they couldn't control that. I would bet that if they could have controlled the weather, they would have..
Review 3:The owners were outstanding, I needed some help and the man of the house wasted no time in helping me. They directed down the road to a pub, outstanding owners, very friendly and the food was fantastic, and a lot of it .. try the fish and chips...
Review 4:We were made very welcome by Julie and her husband. They were very easy to talk to and nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely breakfast which set us up nicely for our ferry crossing to France. The port is very easily and quickly reached from Guston House. There's a pub almost next door which was very handy for a lovely meal.
Review 5:We were very happy with everything. The location was great for us as it was near everything we wanted to see in the area. It would not have been so convenient for people without their own transport.
Review 6:Spacious accommodation with lovely furnishings and spotlessly clean. Visited Canterbury on way down and Dover Castle few miles down the road. Owners Julie and Scot very friendly as were people in the Chance Inn two doors along where we eat two nights. Would highly recommend.
Review 7:nothing
Review 8:Exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Responded immediately to any request. Room was large, modern and bed king size and really comfortable. Bathroom was sparkling and water pressure exceptional in shower. Remarkable stay for reasonable rate. Highly recommend.
Review 9:Perhaps provide mugs for tea/coffee. A more prominent sign outside?
Review 10:Super sized room, excellent shower & bathroom, large comfortable bed, great welcome on arrival. Everything as we would expect at home. We wish Julie every success.
Review 11:we assumed the b & b catered for ferry passengers as it was so close to the port, however, although we paid for breakfast in the room rate we missed out as we had to leave at 7 am and breakfast not served until 7.30. Would have been nice to have had even a continental in the room.
Review 12:We were taking the ferry at 8 am so the location was excellent for Dover. The room was big and overlooked a lovely garden and bed was v comfortable.
Review 13:Very high standard of the quality of accommodation, the friendliness of the owners, its location and comfort and quietness and a superb breakfast. Its location is only five minutes from the ferry terminal.
Review 14:We coldn't see the sign on the dark, GPS co-ordinates would help this.
Review 15:The place was VERY clean and well maintained, the chap who met us was pleased to see us and they'd even reserved a parking place for our trailer. As we were leaving early they offered to do a takeaway breakfast. The pub just down the road does great bar meals and even let us take a couple of wine glasses back to the hotel.
Review 16:The only negative was no breakfast being available before we left at 0645
Review 17:It was exceptionally clean fresh and new. it was good to be able to arrive late and be trusted with the access code and leaving payment.
Review 18:Attentive staff. Spotless and comfortable accommodation. As we were leaving early a packed breakfast was prepared for us to enjoy en route. Ideally situated for us to catch the ferry.

Review 24:Very welcoming hosts, rooms cleaned to a high standard, relaxing and safe environment. Beautifully decorated rooms. Breakfast was delicious and there is a pub 2 doors down so can go for dinner without having to drive again. I would highly recommend this property, book before all the rooms get taken!
Review 25:None - but you need a car as it a little out of town.
Review 26:This B&B is excellent. Whilst we used it for a one night stopover before catching the ferry we would recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the area. room first class. Certainly much more relaxing than the Premier Inn. We did not have a cooked breakfast through choice but what we saw coming out of the kitchen looked freshly cooked. There is a pub next door that has a reasonable selection of meals.
