Reviews for Premier Inn Farnborough West - Southwood

Review 1:Hot water supply amounted to a trickle of lukewarm water. Just about enough for a shave. Same as two years ago, which I expected to have been remedied.

Review 2:Warm welcome and proximity to reasonably priced pub/restaurant.

Review 3:Although there were leaflets explaining ways of obtaining a better night's sleep by avoiding charging lights on phones etc, there was light pouring through the 1" gap under the door and my husband found it very difficult to sleep. There are problems with the plumbing and the trickle of water refilling the cystern was quite annoying.

Review 4:We had an easy access ground floor room. Staff were polite when we mentioned the problems mentioned in the other box, citing refurbishment and building works.

Review 5:Bathroom smelt of drains and mould - not just a little but a lot! The sound proofing is appalling, we could hear every footstep above us. There was no warning of building works onsite which woke us up. The rooms do not have aircon, but since it was cold outside we didn't think it would be a problem, it was! The room was approx 24 degrees with the window open (couldn't open it very wide) and with the 'new' beds and bedding (which was lovely) there was no way we could sleep under the duvet due to the high temperature!

Review 6:Onsite car park

Review 7:Old fashioned rooms. (New building is under construction) Restaurant: order at the counter, you are being served at your table. Quality of the food was OK. Don't expect the fabulous dinner they promise you.

Review 8:Convenient location for a visit to Farnborough Airport

Review 9:Wasnt keen on the breakfast at Brewers Fayre. We dined there the night before and found there were not enough staff to cope with customer demand. Meal was also substandard .

Review 10:Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful

Review 11:Extensive building works on-going at and near the entrance, but this is only temporary and will no doubt improve facilities when completed.

Review 12:Convenient location, restaurant next door, and an outside seating area.

Review 13:Had asked for room with walk-in shower, if possible. Not notified that there were none in the building - just grab rails in a very narrow bath. Had I been notified of this between booking and arriving,(probably 2 weeks) we may have looked elsewhere.

Review 14:Comfortable bed, choice of pillows, very little noise, if any, to be heard from other rooms (talking, tv; etc.)

Review 15:no one around at breakfast, coffee machine not working but no signage saying it was out of order , breakfast could have been hotter

Review 16:friendly staff especially the receptionist

Review 17:Shower needed overhaul - mould spots everywhere. No chair for the desk. Appalling service at the Brewers Fayre place next door - so bad for dinner we skipped breakfast all together. Manager was totally disinterested and the restaurant staff whilst very nice totally lacking in training. His excuse - they had two function on and he wasn't responsible for getting extra staff in. Bar staff where you order food were rude and insolent. Bad experience I won't be going back.

Review 18:good sized room and a comfortable bed

Review 19:bed comfortable , but way , way too high. I am 5ft 10 inches and I had to go on tiptoe to sit on the bed. would of been nice with air conditioning.

Review 20:room ,very good ( a tub chair would be very helpful ) breakfast was so good .

Review 21:There wasn't anything I disliked

Review 22:Loved, loved, loved the bed!!!! It was the best night sleep I've had and didn't want to get up, it was so comfy I want their bed and bedding!! :)

Review 23:Noisy thumping feet of small children upstairs. Not very clean, not told of construction work outside bedroom window. Poor welcome by front of house on arrival. Not up to normal standard.

Review 24:Comfortable bed

Review 25:Accommodation ok but building tired and had to wait to get the room key as no one on reception, waited a good ten minutes to see someone. Travelled with kids and the Brewers Fayre for eating and kids play was again tired and needed a good clean, food not too bad accept the breakfast which was poor as limited and not all available at the same time. Shame as location good.

Review 26:Location brilliant, wanted somewhere on route to Weymouth and this was just about half way and easy access off the motorway.

Review 27:There were not enough plug sockets in the room. There were only two plugsockets and the tv was plugged into the one and the kettle was pluggedinto the other. I wanted to put my curlers on and have a cup of teawhile watching tv and wanted to charge my phone at the same time whichwas impossible.

Review 28:I like the on site restaurant and the fact that you are able to orderfood as late as 10pm at night. I like the fact that the area was quietand we were not disturbed by any noise whilst sleeping.

Review 29:My wife had to take her breakfast back had something in it and from advert it didn't say order your breakfast and wait it gives the inpresion buffet style

Review 30:Nothing

Review 31:The space and comfort of room, you had everything you needed even down to a full length mirror which as we know every woman needs one of them. There was a kettle with tea bags etc, if you wanted a cupper, a hairdryer and dressing table area. The bathroom facilities were perfect, and the bed well you just could not stop yourself from going to sleep on that bed it was so comfortable you just nod off straight away. Even the bed linen and pillows were really comfortable I really mean COMFORTABLE never felt anything like it. The breakfast was great you could have anything and any amount you wanted and the staff were really pleasant and happy.

Review 32:The room furniture and en suite felt tired and in need of updating - but it was clean And fit for purpose.

Review 33:I like the premier inn branding because i knew what to expect. It was clean, comfortable cheerful and the kids eat free breakfast a bonus.

Review 34:After a long day and an arduous journey from the depthe of Cornwall, I was looking forward to a nice bite to eat and a relaxing evening before the following days round of meetings. I was informed on my arrival that the restaurant was closed for staff training. There was No notification of this when I checked the website prior to travelling.

Review 35:Friendly Staff Comfortable Bed.

Review 36:30'minutes walking from down town, poor facilities, quite expensive for what it is but the price is ok comparing the general prices in the area

Review 37:it was always very clean, the room was big enough, it was very silent and comfortable. I wanted to be close to the airport and it was only five minute walking distance

Review 38:Fourth bed was very hard and uncomfortable, neither child would sleep on it. That was only downside

Review 39:Lovely and clean, hotel is in a great condition. Breakfast was in neighbouring restaurant which was great. Main beds were large and very comfortable. Would stay again :)

Review 40:Free wifi kept dropping out, very poor signal. It's about time that decent wifi was free for more than just 30 minutes!

Review 41:The firedoors in the corridors were sprung properly so they didn't slam which is not always the case. Nice comfortable room and clean bathroom - with a fan that didn't go on for ages after turning the lights out!

Review 42:Toilet was not clean, it was only brown limescale, but that shows it hadn't been cleaned properly for a while. And the mattress was awful, soft & bouncy, for someone who uses a very firm mattress for a bad back at home, I didn't sleep much.

Review 43:Receptionist was very polite & helpful, prices & menu in the Brewers Fayre were reasonable.

Review 44:Bit of trouble with wifi but apparently that was the case with all of premier inns wifi

Review 45:It was close to where i needed to be and the staff were helpful

Review 46:Carpark is a bit dark in some spots and busy so on some occasions we had limited choice. But it is free.

Review 47:We liked the location. Typical great value for money at prem inn with friendly and very helpful staff. Also has an excellent pub next door with good food.

Review 48:The porridge at breakfast was awful and should never have been served. The rest of the breakfast was fine.

Review 49:Welcoming staff; comfortable beds, excellent value for money..

Review 50:Light controls on one side of bed only. Glad I had a torch for nightime visit to the loo!

Review 51:Staff helpful and polite. Room comfortable. Disabled facilities good.

Review 52:Quiet zone was nothing of the sort, I assume someone had too much alcohol the night before with a "friend" banging on their door for what felt like an eternity at 6.30, not impressed

Review 53:Ease of checking in and out

Review 54:Only complaint we could make is that their was quite a drainy/sewerage smell in the bathroom and some of the corridors which was slightly off putting. As we were only on an overnight stay this did not cause an issue. However if we stayed longer then maybe it would have been a problem.

Review 55:Everything was as you would expect. The lady on reception was fantastic as booking.com had told them their was only one of us and she had to make up a quad room for us, but nothing was too much trouble.

Review 56:Beds were rock hard and the room was so hot all night.. without any heating on in the room. I had the window open all night and couldn't sleep.. it was October!

Review 57:Clean and tidy rooms, good breakfast, modern furnitured

Review 58:There is no cupboard in the room, just a few small shelves to store your clothes in the open.

Review 59:A clean and quiet place. Staff is very cordial and location is walking distance from airfield entry.

Review 60:I didn't like the fact that on our first morning (sat) the resturantwas understaffed,so we didn't get the buffet, the service tookAGES,and they ran out of sausages .cos they hadn't defrostedenough!!! It takes two minutes to defrost a couple of sausages in themicrowave and surely there should be some liason between the Hotel andthe Resturant as to numbers and expected number of customers forbreakfast.

Review 61:The staff were pleasant, the room was as advertised,we thought it wasgood value for money and very efficient as far as the hotel wasconcerned.

Review 62:Cleanliness very poor, toilet needed a good dose of bleach and the top of the wardrobe needed cleaning to remove a pair of old pants. Shocking

Review 63:Staff helpful and courteous

Review 64:Nothing much except some of the juice glasses at breakfast on eone day were not properly clean.

Review 65:Good location for the airshow and travelling to Southampton. Friendly staff especially hard working Leanne in reception. Comfortable and good sized family room. Breakfast very good like all premier inns. Again friendly staff at the Brewers fayre. Kids enjoyed too.

Review 66:We were given a disabled room and I found it difficult to use the hand basin as it was so low (I have a lot of arthritis in my spine). The bed was very low too which was a bit of a problem for us. Also the pub connected with The Premier Inn didn't meet the same standards. The place was grubby, evening meal was just about acceptable, the barmaid was unsmiling and silent. Although breakfast the following morning was much better with friendly staff and better quality food. Would we stay here again? Probably not!

Review 67:The room was the usual Premier Inn room, so we knew it would be clean and fine for an overnight stop. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

Review 68:TV too small No guest lounge/bar area No unlimited free wifi - only 1/2 hr free.

Review 69:Tea & coffee facilities in the room En - suite bathroom

Review 70:Not enough plug sockets in the room ( only two). Bed and pillows a little too soft.

Review 71:Plesant location with a nice friendly reception. Pub next door good value for money.

Review 72:no in room safe or telephone, noise from above room and late night noise from other guests in corridor on last night of our stay.

Review 73:on site secure parking, comfortable beds, good on site restaurant, easy access to motorway, tea making facilities.

Review 74:No air conditioning also we were on ground floor and were disturbed by the people above who were quite noisy also felt room was nit over priced for the facilities within it

Review 75:Good food in monkey puzzle adjacent to hotel especially breakfast staf in hotel and thr mknkey puzzle were very helpful and welcoming

Review 76:Other noisy guests at all hours of the morning.

Review 77:Excellent staff both in the hotel and the Brewers Fayre. Very polite and helpful. Will be back next Farnborough Airshow!

Review 78:We were allocated a family room immediately above the entrance. We were disturbed both night and morning by comings and goings and noisy smokers, one night at both midnight and 2am and then again at 6 am. Family rooms would be better round the back.

Review 79:Very helpful and friendly staff.

Review 80:Room is very comfortable. We take 30 minutes to Farnborough airport for FIA 2014 . Tracy is very nice and help us to book a taxi when I arrive at Heathrow airport.

Review 81:The reception staff were really helpful. A nice touch was that when I arrived in my room the windows were already open, so air had been circulating around the room already, it was quite warm that day.

Review 82:Thermostat clicking every 10 mins had to turn heating off

Review 83:Clean politehelpfull

Review 84:The staff were very friendly and obliging and the area was quiet with nice view

Review 85:Noise from people staying in the room above late at night
