Reviews for Draycote Hotel And Whitefields Golf Course

Review 1:Some of the food for dinner, waiter didn't really seem to care about our food complaints. Also the fact that the dining hall was empty but because we ordered bar food we had to plea to sit in the dining area. NO ONE WAS THERE.

Review 2:Liked the lady at reception, very friendly and patient with us checking out late. Loved the blonde waitress at breakfast, very helpful and sweet

Review 3:The bed/bedding was very nice and comfortable. The central heating made a continuous tapping noise as if there was air in the system. Apart from this the room was fine.

Review 4:Rooms are dated circa 1970's . But this is a observation and didn't spoil a excellent stay. Floor carpets could do with renewing or cleaning as they were getting quite threadbare.

Review 5:Convenient location, good facilities and excellent staff. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 6:Being given a room on the ground floor which is unusual for a single female traveller. Not happy leaving the bedroom window open all night as uncertain of area Noisy bathroom fan which ran for hours ( Room 4) Very creaky bed!

Review 7:Friendly staff throughout Nice meal at the bar Clean room and bathroom

Review 8:When they had a big function on we felt a bit sidelined but told the manager and service soon returned to what it was before.

Review 9:Comforable room, good looking golf course but didn't have time to play it.

Review 10:Staff helpful, and friendly. Quiet location with beautiful gardens. Free Parking available on site , and good food in bar and restaurant. Breakfast typically English. Would not hesitate to return.

Review 11:shower very little water, tray did not drain well, feels like a sports centre in the lobby, not cheap

Review 12:limited choice breakfast,quality ok,staff very good.

Review 13:Overcharged for Dinner. Breakfast was canteen slop style. Noises from other rooms during the night.

Review 14:Big, very comfortable bed. Good service at breakfast.

Review 15:Curtains did not block out the light very well. Strange lighting and switching locations.

Review 16:Good location. Nice and quiet. Good value. Good bed. Good food. Very helpful and friendly staff

Review 17:Did not rate the buffet style breakfast it was cold not fresh greasy looking last time we stayed it was fresh on order at table far more value only had toast so not value for my money

Review 18:Shower head was unusually low.

Review 19:Food was excellent, bed was very comfortable, staff were professional and courteous. Even the manager made himself known to us while we were having a drink. This hotel has really done themselves proud.

Review 20:We were greeted by a cheerful receptionist (Sarah) and made welcome. All the staff were cheerful and happy to help. Lovely room with all that we needed in it. Smashing grounds.

Review 21:Banging my head on the ceilings in the bedroom.

Review 22:Excellent customer service and very helpful staff. Venue is ideal for a wedding and well presented throughout.

Review 23:Car park only had lights in main area. Arrived late having booked a double but once in room realised it was a twin. Overnight tap leeked onto floor and carpet inly realised this when walking on wet carpet in the morning in towelling mules. When telling reception on departure they did not even manage an apology - disappointing as not a cheap venue.

Review 24:Large car park, friendly welcome

Review 25:the only downside was that there was not enough staff on at breakfast time, there seemed to be only one chef & one waitress on, and with a big wedding party, plus your other guests, this was not enough

Review 26:a lovely venue for a wedding, the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, and very polite. I would stop here again

Review 27:The lack of tea bags milk and sugar and not being able to use the TV properly without a remote.

Review 28:Relaxing atmosphere in the bar area, nice food and the staff were very helpful

Review 29:More attention to detail needed with cleaning Rooms & bathrooms could do with refurb Noisy hallway & room doors, need attention Noisy floorboards upstairs No bibles in bedrooms

Review 31:The hotel part looks a bit old and dull.

Review 32:The hotel is situated near the motorway and has ample parking spaces. The reception and restaurant area is very modern.

Review 33:We asked for a quiet room, we were given a terribly noisy room but to be fair no where in the hotel would have been quiet due to a wedding disco that went on until 1am. Then the weddding guests continued to party in their rooms till almost 4am. The duvets were winter ones very hot and heavy no spare sheets. The shower water came out at little more than a dribble. Breakfast was adequate.

Review 34:Staff were friendly , helpful and polite.

Review 35:No mirror over dressing table and full length mirror too far away from electric sockets for hair dryer tongs etc - wife not happy - in future will travel with small extension as this is not the only hotel we have been to with this problem!

Review 36:Bar prices and atmosphere.

Review 37:I booked a double room but was given a twin , they did say they push the beds together but I had unpacked so said no. room and bathroom was very small, bed wasn’t very comfy. Beer is expensive

Review 77:Nice quiet rooms, helpful staff.

Review 78:There was no plug socket near the mirror which made drying your hair difficult.

Review 79:Bedrooms small Unprotected Wi-Fi

Review 80:Reception area Bar and breakfast arrangements

Review 81:The heavy duvets which made sleep very difficult

Review 82:wi-fi

Review 83:Noisy neighbours - sound transmission through adjoining door.

Review 84:Location Price Room size Free wifi No card fees

Review 85:fireworks from wedding party

Review 86:location

Review 87:Poor signage - missed the turn and as it's on the dual carrigeway had to go to the next roundabout to turn around

Review 88:Lovely scenery Drinks were fairly priced

Review 89:Only mirror in bedroom was not near a table /dressing table -difficult doing makeup and drying hair etc. Felt reception / bar area were a bit open, quite noisy especially from loud music in nearby function room

Review 90:Good sized room and bathroom

Review 91:Was let down by the breakfast - initially we were told it was 12.95 upon arrival at breakfast and we paid 6.95 at the time we checked in. However when we arrived at 9:20 am it was under stocked, no bacon, no eggs, no glasses for juice lack of selection only apple juice available however after I mentioned it to a member of staff it was re-stocked however poor cooked breakfast overall it just looked completely unloved and neglected. Really can't understand your pricing over breakfast as what was on offer certainly was not worth 6.95 each let alone 12.95 - this let the stay down as I do like my bacon eggs !

Review 92:The steak was nice and the people were friendly and helpful

Review 93:First night we lost power in the room at 3 30 am. It had happened previously and the manager very quickly found a switch had tripped. The hotel is manned 24 hrs - excellent - but when the same thing happened 3 30 am we were offered a move to another room but my husband is disabled and has a prosthetic leg - not an option - to much of a disturbance to other customers - needed a manager who could trip the switch again - that did not happen until 8 15 am which made us late for the sailing event we were organising at Draycote Water. Problem being no light in the bathroom or light/power in bedroom. No compensation has been made for this very uncomfortable, stressful period of time. We did not sleep we had to manage a very difficult situation. many phone calls to reception - they said they were unable to get in touch with the manager to find out how to reset the electrics to our room. Sad,stressful start to otherwise excellent stay

Review 94:Everything about the hotel and surroundings was impressionable comfort and luxury restaurant excellent menu for Evening Meal - enjoyed 2 nights - first class service and cheff

Review 95:The price of the drinks at the bar, it was more like london prices than midlands

Review 96:My wife and I both enjoyed our stay, everything was clean and the staff very efficiant

Review 97:The room was freezing cold on arrival. The hotel staff did provide a portable heater which was not very effective. We received conflicting stories from staff regarding the heating problem. We also requested one gluten free breakfast which was not catered for even though it was stated on the booking forme and had several weeks notice. Overall a very poor experience.

Review 98:Nice surroundings,plenty of parking.

Review 99:Couple of problems with the bathroom but the rest of the hotel is very good,

Review 100:The staff are superb, friendly and efficient. Good bar meals and reasonable prices.

Review 101:The hotel was rather on the warm side. A number of the guests commented.

Review 102:We were attending a wedding and the hotel staff performed all the duties relating to the wedding. The staff were excellent.

Review 103:The waitress who served breakfast was the most alert and helpful young lady I have seen in my years- give her a chance of going further she will do well!

Review 104:A bit shabby Overpriced Shower didn't work in the room Tatty interior (carpets) Not a great breakfast not much choice if you are vegetarian

Review 105:Staff were helpful Foyer was nice Bed was comfy & room quiet

Review 106:Thought the breakfast was a bit expensive. £12.95 for buffet !! We understand that had we been informed at the time of booking breakfast could have been pre-booked for half price.

Review 107:Lovely restaurant with excellent food and service. Good location

Review 108:Senior lady tipped staff as usual but they hadn't carried her bags...or reduced her difficulties with journeys carrying bags and items from room to reception . She uses a stick and is 93 on Sept 3rd. I was amazed she tipped as usual.

Review 109:Convenient location to local family event

Review 110:My additional request was not read/acted upon. Instead of a double bed, we had two singles pushed together.

Review 111:The hotel was in a quiet, peaceful setting. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The room was large and comfortable, a little tired but not unpleasant. The location was ideal for us, but it is outside Rugby, just off the motorway - convenient for arrivals from the M1.

Review 112:Bathroom needs modernising Breakfast service below any standards ever met in a uk hotel, we had to wait 25min for 4 slices of toast brought finally with no excuse for such delay but rather with an unpleasant slamming on the table! No chance to approach the cooked breakfast station because the queues were forming continuously as the kitchen staff were only bringing out 3 fried eggs at a time! Never again

Review 113:Nice room, clean and away from golf/ guests noise

Review 114:Lack of air conditioning but then it is a very warm for UK and given we live in Australia are able to cope ok

Review 115:Friendly staff great location ,lovely B/fast

Review 116:We had bedroom No.2. The corridor doors have a slow close contraption on the top. They close slowly, until the last five inches, then slam. This woke us up at 5.45am both mornings and seem to repeat every 20 seconds.

Review 117:Convenient location

Review 118:It was a noisy hotel. I didn't like the fact the downstairs roomonly had showers over a bath, which meant a disabled person was unableto shower.

Review 119:The service was dreadful both on check-in and at breakfast. Breakfast itself was poor, there was a poor selection, the eggs were all hardened and the sausages looked as though they were from out of a tin; I didn't seem to get the option of having toast and no-one was around to ask! The mattress was of exceedingly poor quality, and in general the bedroom and bathroom were only a step-up from student digs! I wouldn't stay again and I wouldn't recommend it!

Review 120:It was conveniently located for Leamington and Warwick

Review 121:We were later than midnight booking in, I phoned the hotel to see if this was OK and Natalie was very kind and helpful. We arrived after 1 am and this was not a problem for the hotel - thank you.

Review 122:My bed was classed as a double but was two singles pushed together. All fine except the two beds were different heights and sprigs sticking through the mattress .

Review 123:The location was only minutes away from Rugby centre. The food was good , evening dinner and breakfast.

Review 124:Poor room design with low eaves/sloping roof meant bumped heads! No character or atmosphere in bar area and no proper lounge area to relax. The (wedding)disco was too loud so no chance of sleeping as the function room is near the bedrooms and it went on til late.

Review 125:Golf course was good. breakfast very good. Pleasant outside seating area. Good location close to Rugby and easy distance from Warwick. Room reasonably nice. Free wifi easy to connect to. Tea, coffee and biscuits in room

Review 126:Very poor check-in experience. Really slow and another receptionist chatting on phone then mobile but didn't help at all.

Review 127:Only good employee I met was room service guy - very professional.

Review 128:our room had too steeply sloping concrete beams reducing headroom and my wife did bang her head on the one above the bed sloping down to the window. This is not really appropriate for a hotel bedroom it is something usually encountered in old guest houses with wooden beams.

Review 129:First impression on arriving is a spacious open plan ground floor reception area containing reception, the bar and restaurant. There is a central staircase which appears to lead to a function area and on another balcony sits a baby grand piano. The access to the rooms leads to a more soundproofed area to reduce the noise from the ground floor function rooms and car park.
