Reviews for Premier Inn High Wycombe Central
Review 1:Everything was wonderful except the parking situation and one member of male staff who seemed irritated that we wanted breakfast at 10am, even though it was advertised as being available until 10.30am and if we requested butter or yogurts, he complained about it.
Review 2:The toilet seat was a little bit stained, but I don't know if it was from extensive usage or from lack of proper cleaning, since the bathroom looked fairly new.
Review 3:The room was very well insulated and the bed was very comfortable. It was rare the occasions where you could hear some noise from the other rooms, especially at night. The location of the hotel is very central. Being near the train station and right next to the town centre, bus station and Eden Shopping, you have plenty of transport options and places to shop and eat.
Review 4:The hotel is very hot and we could not open the window in one of our rooms. It is also located next to a multi-storey car park and a McDonalds, which meant we only had one uninterrupted night's sleep out of four. Having said that, these are relatively minor points and we would certainly stay here again.
Review 5:The hotel is excellent value for money and the beds are the among the most comfortable we have ever had. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are exceptionally clean.
Review 6:I stayed on the 4th floor, which was supposed to be less noisey, but you could hear people going up and down the corridor after 10pm. Also, my room was a little cold (the thermostat could only be adjusted upto 23'c).
Review 7:The breakfasts were scrumptious, the bed was so comfortable, and the staff were friendly.
Review 8:Paying for parking
Review 9:All the staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. The girl who booked us in was very special, really helpful. Unfortunately I didn't ask her name! The breakfast was delicious.
Review 10:Small child in adjoining room woke at 05:30 and thereafter continued to cry, wail, blow some sort of wind instrument. interspaced by shouts from its parents. Toilet paper dispenser had a mind of its own and ripped the paper to shreds. Could have done with extra lighting in the bathroom.
Review 11:Helpful staff - arranged for a double bed to be converted into twin. Considering its location, apart from the noise from adjacent room the hotel was remarkably quiet and comfortable. Pleased to see so many electric power sockets.
Review 12:Despite the claims about the hypnos beds ours was far too firm and the duvet too warm for such a well insulated room.
Review 13:Modern clean efficient room.good access to towncentre facilities.very good helpful, knowledgeable staff.
Review 14:Nothing
Review 15:We stayed here for our trip to legoland. 25 minutes from the park the location was convenient. Breakfast was plentyful and with 3 children in our group the kids eat free deal was excellent value. The check in staff were efficient and friendly. The rooms are excellent. Clean, modern and very comfortable.
Review 16:The cost of parking. For just over 24 hours we had to pay £10!!!!!!!
Review 17:Very, very helpful and kind staff. We were given an excellent room by the young man on duty. He showed us to the room and helped us with luggage. Can't remember his name but he was on duty on the afternoon of 8 September 2015. Very smart and efficient.
Review 18:The breakfast option is limited, and the Internet is not consistent.
Review 19:The location is good for business purpose. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room we were given is spacious and in a quiet corner.
Review 20:Lack of general items in room i.e toiletries and tissues. Only 1 hand towel for two people. No toilet brush is embarrassing. TV has a sound limiter... Those with less hearing ability struggle to hear the TV. Fixed shower head is irritating. This was expensive and vaguely average in standard. Small rooms and no niceties. If you get what you pay for this is not good. I have paid the same for 5* hotels in nicer places. However, beggars can't be choosers when the cast is limited. McDonalds restaurant car park race track next to hotel was not pleasant but that wasn't the Premier Inns fault.
Review 21:Location, Staff.
Review 22:not applicable
Review 23:Clean, comfortable and convenient location at a reasonable price. Breakfast was good as well. we have recently stayed at some of the so called more 'up market' hotels in surrounding areas and found this to be better quality room. Most hotels don't seem to be able to provide even moderate standards of room presentation
Review 24:Noisy neighbours upstairs at 3 in the morning. No iron in room. Bathroom painting hadn't been finished . Very low quality, basic room for the price we paid, had a lot nicer for less.
Review 25:Location in town centre. Happy hours at the bar. Breakfast was nice.
Review 26:Few times, had to wait at reception for staff. No help with carrying luggage Paid parking
Review 27:Clean Functional layout and furniture in rooms Staff stored our excess luggage for few days
Review 28:Children go free for breakfast was very welcome for our family of five. Family room was great - it's hard to find anywhere that will accommodate a family of five in one room for a reasonable price. Comfortable bedroom and facilities generally. To have parking nearby was also helpful.
Review 29:There wasnt anything we did not like!
Review 30:We loved the bed!!! The inn itself had everything we needed. It was clean smart and modern. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. It was also nice &quiet!
Review 31:Car park charges Noisy Air conditioning Poor soundproofing Small TV Poor choice of TV channels
Review 32:Vfm Friendly staff esp breakfast Located near supermarket
Review 33:Had to ask for the correct amount of towels. View from window obscured by net curtain that was between the double glazing
Review 34:Friendly helpful receptionist. Air con
Review 35:The entrance to the hotel was a bit intimidating in the evening as it is by a young persons' hangout and the dedicated car park was occupied by revving pimped hatchbacks.
Review 36:The staff were very friendly and super helpful. Best bed ever.
Review 37:Trying to locate this hotel was a headache as the GPS code supplied by Booking.dot com was incorrect and led us into a pedestrian only area. Make sure you get the correct code direct from the hotel.
Review 38:This hotel was excellent value for money. The breakfast was very nice and the steaks we had at the restaurant were the best we had in England. The meal deal was very good value. We had to return our hire car to Heathrow Airport in tn the morning of our flight and it was an easy relatively short drive along a freeway to get there.
Review 39:Shower safety height could be improved. Get rid of the "no-frills" toilet paper. Give the staff some to sit. WiFi that cuts off.
Review 40:Location, cleaniness. Sofa bed was better that normal British single beds. Help, friendly staff Cheryl and Ross.
Review 41:Signage to the Hotel was not clear and there were no signs to direct me to parking and I wasn't told that the Hotel only validate a percentage of the parking fees. And one of my travelling companions found hair in the plug hole of her room.
Review 42:The staff seemed friendly enough.
Review 43:We did not enjoy the full english breakfast, the sausage was hard and rubbery and the fried tomato was miserable
Review 44:The room was clean and very comfortably but there was only one large bath towel left for for two people
Review 45:After booking a double room with breakfast for two , I was told I'd booked a single room , this was done by booking .com. We were given a double room but I was charged again the next day for one breakfast .
Review 46:Paid £6 to park, when I went to remark unable to get space so parked in nearby car park. Upon leaving asked to validate ticket - they put it through a machine but didn't work had to hang around in car park at 23.30hrs until car park attendant arrived, he said the hotel staff don't know what they are doing regarding car park ticket. Had to pay AGAIN to leave car park..
Review 47:Seeing friends.
Review 48:No bad experience as such but the wifi is only free for half an hour a day. Then you pay. Free wifi should mean what it says.
Review 49:Staff very helpful, cheerful and positive. Room clean and well laid out.
Review 50:Poor service. Staffing levels were minimal despite advanced bookings for a local sports gathering. Service slow, reception and bar area not staffed independently. Evening meal service was poor, almost 2 hours waiting for meals . Tables not cleared during buffet breakfast, resulting in families having to wait . Overall poor service.
Review 51:Premier inn was clean, room had all essential facilities, clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable.
Review 52:Very curtious staff who even helped us to refund cost of unused stay when we curtailed our stay by one night. It is worth mentioning name Cari Einstin who was all smiles while doing this.
Review 53:TV was a little on the small size and there was no small fridge in room. However this is nitpicking overall it suited our purposes as an overnight stay whilst picking up our grand daughter from school nearby.
Review 54:Consistency is a feature of Premier Inn chain and this lived up to expectations. Staff were excellent and very helpful and enjoyed a chat which we liked. The room was comfortable and plenty of tea/milk were provided. Breakfast was true value for money.
Review 55:The air con was a bit buzzy on max so I just turned the fan setting down and it was fine :)
Review 56:I'm a type 1 Diabetic and Premier Inn are the only chain of hotels I've stayed in (I work in Europe sometimes and my husband and I do a lot of UK City trips) that do food that cater for me. I'm able to have a high protein breakfast inc quorn sausages and unsweetened berries with natural yoghurt and unlike a lot of hotel restaurants that are heavy on starchy food their pasta dishes are half salad/half pasta which means I have no post insulin injection spikes. Their beds are always firm and bathrooms and rooms always ckean and tidy. They may be basic but if you want the Ritz, stay at the Ritz! :)
Review 57:There was a drunk guest who banged loudly on our door at midnight, 2am an 4am - twice, so we didn't get much sleep
Review 58:Central and modern with good parking.
Review 59:Full English Breakfast was fair. Not cooked fresh to order. Items were just kept warm.
Review 60:Convenient location Comfortable bed Clean, quiet room New, clean hotel Good quality restaurant evening meals Helpful staff
Review 61:I had booked a normal room, yet on showing up I received a room fitted for handicap persons. These rooms are not designed for people not bound to a wheelchair. Having to sit in a chair to shave and no closet to use among other oddities, I left with the feeling I had been staying in a hospital room and not the hotel room I booked.
Review 62:Staff and breakfast were just fine. Have stayed at this hotel before and as always most things were just fine.
Review 63:Cold in room. Asked many times reception to switch on heating system. No body lotion, no bath robe. No fridge in the room but staff was very kind to keep my stuff in kitchen.
Review 64:English breakfast (if you are before 9 am). Tea facilities in room. Close to big supermarket.
Review 65:Advertised Room Service, but have to go down to the bar to order and pay, and then come back again to collect, not enough customer parking resulting in having to pay in the sainsbury's carpark, had to pay additional costs from what the booking.com website quoted for breakfast for 2
Review 66:Friendly staff, good sized room, clean, comfortable, warm, good welcome
Review 67:Poor wifi reception. Needs to be improved definitely!
Review 68:Good location with a big supermarket just literally one minute walk away and the shopping/dining area 3 minute away. The train station is just about 8 minutes walk which I think is convenient for those who want to catch a train to London.
Review 69:Above
Review 70:The staff was great, at times I thought there was a mess up on the breakfast list. We had a room for husband & I & daughter. Almost always had only one breakfast was allowed, I did not understand that. Everyone that worked there was nice to us. Although Matt needs to work on little more people skills, especially when checking in .
Review 71:As a first visit to a Premier Inn we were very disappointed. On arrival our rooms were very cold as was the restaurant. In fact it was so cold that we needed to wear a shawl to keep warm while eating our dinner. Our bedrooms were also very cold on the first night. We had asked for 1 accessible room and 3 other quad rooms. We had to change rooms as the 'accessible' room did not have a walk in shower. The staff though were unable to do anything about the heating in the restaurant or the heating in one of the bedrooms so we had a really uncomfortable first night and experience.Admittedly and fortunately the heating situation was resolved the next day but as we had travelled to attend the funeral of a family member, it made a sad occasion even worse
Review 72:The hotel was in a convenient position and the staff were very friendly indeed.
Review 73:The main doors had been broken for sometime and the staff were having to work under dreadful conditions on monday night -8 temp was outside and the doors werestuck open, also the eating part was freezing an again the poor staff had been told they were not going to get it fixed till jan 8 and 1 tiny convector heater which was no use
Review 74:Restaurant and public areas too cold.
Review 75:Arrived with my husband and in-laws having just received some devastating news. When the staff heard of this they couldn't have been nicer and made us feel looked after at a particularly trying time.
Review 76:That the breakfast wasn't hot enough, plates were luke warm, so breakfast got cold quickly.
Review 77:Friendly, helpful staff. Food was tasty and plentiful. Location was good and accessible to all public transport. Ample car parking if you drive there. Plenty of restaurants if you fancy something other than in the restaurant.
Review 78:The room was good but it was very cold and baby cought cold and got sick when we r there so that's the thing I didn't like at all
Review 79:The bed was comfort engouh
Review 80:The fourth floor there was no heating in my room for Four nights other guest younger then me also complained about lack of heating no engineer came out after boxing day also motor on internal reception door was broken so was constantly open leaving reception, bar area, and restaurant cold, and miserable I at to approach manager to ask for refund. I have just received an email to say I did not stay boxing night this is not true I did so please do not charge my visa card xmas eve xmas night and boxing night I was refunded although this has not been refunded has I speak I am cancelling booking for New Years Eve has they still have heating problem which is not good.
Review 81:My refund for three nights. and staff
Review 82:Paid WiFi! Some time ago a McDonald's did came at the back and if you sleep at that site you have lot of noise from it (cars and people shouting)
Review 83:Location, quiet a new building.
Review 84:`having to pay extra for wifi
Review 85:I found out I had to pay for the wifi on my bill. I wasn't told it would require an extra charge. It wasn't very expensive though
Review 86:Room was big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids, very kids friendly and loved the menus for the kids. Really good value for money and found the breakfast had very good choices for everyone. no complaints. Will stay here again.
Review 87:We found the location most suited for a business visit as we could cover most of the town on foot.Eventhough we are used to high class hotels as residents of Dubai,we found the stay value for money.
Review 88:Should offer free wi fi throughout the day.
Review 89:Nice room and of adequate size. Breakfast was good. Convenient location. Quality service at reception and restaurant. Will definitely come back again.
Review 90:The size of the family room was extremely small with no space between the double bed and two single beds. Unfortunately our room faced a nightclub so we did not get to sleep until 3am so ended up making a complaint but we were given a full refund. We had to pay £6 for the car park and spaces were limited. We did not pay for wifi as I refuse to pay when most pubs and restaurants now adays offer it free.
Review 91:The Hotel was in the centre of the city, staff were very helpful and friendly, room was clean and beds were comfy.
Review 92:Location not the greatest but not too far from the train station.
Review 93:Staff. Bar/coffee shop/restaurant area. The new-style decor made it feel like a more upmarket hotel. Extra glazing on the windows made for a lovely quiet room. Choice of pillows.
Review 94:Lack of parking. Our first night we had to park on the top level of the Sainsburys car park. This was OK and only cost £5 for 24 hrs once the ticket was validated by the Hotel. But the lift did not go to the top level, so we had to get out on the level below and take the stairs the rest of the way! This was not nice as we had to walk past people sleeping at the top of the stairs. When we were able to move the car down to the disabled bays at the back of the Hotel/McDonalds (for a cost of £6 for 24 hrs) it was much better. But unfortunately these spaces are not guaranteed and cannot be reserved for you, its basically first come, first served. WiFi was £3 for 24 hrs. Not bad, but signal was sometimes weak.
Review 95:Friendly, helpful staff all day and night. Situated right next to Sainsburys, which was perfect to grab the things you forgot to take from home. Bath & shower in room (great when you have a small toddler with you). Travel Cot Provided. Kettle, Hot DRinks, Hair Dyrer all also available in the room.
Review 96:As the hotel was full got a handicap room and that was above the kitchen. So whole night the noise of the cooling and fans. Must pay for WiFi what was very slow Breakfast is greasy and no fruit
Review 97:Location
Review 98:Costa Coffee machine shown in picture didn't exist. Parking was a nightmare - and charged for, although I saw nothing saying there would be a charge when I booked. Restaurant times did not cover my timetable.
Review 99:Comfort, cleanliness.
Review 100:Nothing.
Review 101:The staffs are friendly and helpful. It is very closed to the shopping mail, only takes 2 minutes walk to the major street. The room size is reasonable, very clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay in this hotel again.
Review 102:There wasn't one thing none of us disliked all impressed with our stay.
Review 103:Location brilliant staff friendly and happy lovely restaraunt and breakfast delicious with plenty of choice. Very comfortable stay for our sons graduation university on the doorstep ideal situation.
Review 104:The disabled room the bed was very hard and low, the bath was wierd and the lighting was poor. I did not ask for a disabled room just asked if there was a lift.
Review 105:The lift the locality..and the breakfast.
Review 106:Room on the first night overlooking car park and McDonalds, very noisy.
Review 107:Brill breakfast, room moved to on the second night (ends in 24), decor in the public areas very nice and the friendly and helpful staff.
Review 108:From reception on the first day till I left I couldn't fault it, went for dinner the first night, it was so nice and decor is fantastic, food was excellent, breakfast was superb the next morning, will be visiting high Wycombe for next 4 years, won't be staying anywhere but here, already booked for nov!
Review 109:The fan in the bathroom was a bit annoying but I know it was needed.
Review 110:Carl at the desk was very friendly. A good nights sleep was followed by a hearty breakfast.
Review 111:The staff failed to tell us to ignore all of the parking signs in the sainsburys car park that says you can not park there for over four hours and that the hotel can validate your parking. We spent a long time looking for a parking space we could use and had to go back to the hotel to find out where we could park. They also did not know how much it would cost.
Review 112:If we had been booked in as a double, as we requested, and not have the hotel change our room, to a single, then have breakfast staff argue that only one breakfast was included. This took the shine of our holiday.
Review 113:the location
Review 114:The taxi service recommended by the hotel were useless. Didn't know where they were going, overcharged
Review 115:Efficient service, you know what you are getting. Good location, helpful staff
Review 116:No lamb dishes on the menu in the restaurant. Loads of chicken and beef which i don't eat.
Review 117:Everything we wanted was there for us and the iron and ironing board we requested was brought to us within half an hour. We were able to take our dessert and wine to our room after dinner.
Review 118:We liked the larger room for the family. The modern decor seemed fresh and new. We would stay here again as the facilities, staff and location are fantastic.
Review 119:Dinner too expensive and took a long time, but had no warning of any delay before ordering, so noticed a few grumpy looking people at tables around us, but serving staff were very polite and trying their best.
Review 120:The man at the desk who greeted us upon arrival at approx 9pm Friday 22/08 was very friendly, helpful, chheerful and polite.
Review 121:Noise from floor above kept waking me throughout the night Limited privacy as adjoining door to another room.. Could here every cough, sigh or word they said. Only one set of towels for two of us.. I did request more towels and was advised it would be sorted but it wasn't. Two beds pushed together was uncomfortable for us to sleep cuddled up together
Review 122:Clean Good location Nice staff
Review 123:We had a very hard time locating the parking area. We used the post codeon the website and it put us in a back alley. When we called to askewhere to park they then told us a different post code that stilldidn't work. Eventually we parked in the Sainsburys parking area, wish they would've just told us to park there to begin with
Review 124:The room was a very nice size as it fit two twin sized beds and a cribwith plenty of space
Review 125:Being close to a McDonald's drive in some of its customers felt they could not leave without spinning their wheels
Review 126:Staff and food both excellent can highly recommend the breakfast
Review 127:There was only one girl at the reception desk. When she arrived she was busy with a big group. Had to wait for aged to get seen. Needed to ask questions so automated check in was inappropriate. Need a bigger desk and another reception member. Also parking was horrible. McDonald's had more space than the hotel. Seems illogical to me. The hotel needs better parking facilities.
Review 128:Room was a good size. Breakfast was great and bed was comfortable. The one receptionis was good. Breakfast staff were nice too.
Review 129:Got lost & had a barney with my other half when trying to find hotel. . . It's ok, we're friends again now!
Review 130:Clean, modern, comfortable and ideally situated.
Review 131:The waiting time for food was far too long. We waited 50 minutes for our starters and a further 15 minutes for the main course. The restaurant wasn't even busy, it was just poor service.
Review 132:The room was clean, comfortable and excellent value for money.
Review 133:1- Paying extra for breakfast when the cost of the room was more expensive than same type of room the previous night at Holiday Inn with breakfast included. £99 no breakfast to £69 inc breakfast. Unfortunately had no choice. 2 - Seemed there was no real process in place for calling out emergency doctor. 3 - Not to keen on being woken by the room above walking about at 6 in the morning.
Review 134:Staff were courteous and helpful.
Review 135:Very little parking. Food wasn't nice, none of us eat it. When our drinks arrived, the girl spilt them on my husband and later told us we wouldn't be charged, later I noticed we were charged. The air con in the room was very noisy and kept us awake.
Review 136:Bed was confortable, it was clean. Was near a good shop.
Review 137:Spent a night before going to legoland, room was super clean, bed and pillows extra comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast delicious! I totally recomend this hotel!!!
Review 138:cost of car park, I felt it should not have had a price attached.
Review 139:close to train station, only a five minute walk. helpful staff and restaurant attached for breakfast clean room and tidy, good shower and overall enough space for a night's stay. We were in a family room
