Reviews for Arctic Snow Hotel

Review 1:All extras are rather overpriced

Review 2:Amazing experience to sleep in a snow hotel room in warm sleeping bags! Great pre-ordered dinner in Lodge restaurant, fantastic finnish sauna and souranding for perfect morning walk! Transfers to and from hotel on time!

Review 3:Large tour groups were generally in the way, rude and taking everyones time. This is no reflection on the hotel or staff, just something to be prepared for.

Review 4:A once in a lifetime experience. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The ice hotel was beautiful, an amazing experience. We had a suite, which was huge with great lighting and designs, sleeping was comfortable and we didn't get cold during the night.

Review 5:Not having access to take a wash before dinner or once you arrive. We had to wait till the sauna was opened to take a wash which is from 9pm to 11pm. Since dinner was booked later and the sauna has separate timings for men and women my wife and daughter were not able to take a wash. We had a long day and were looking forward to freshen ourselves up before dinner but that was not to be.

Review 6:It was an experience to stay in an ice hotel. Although my wife and daughter were worried about sleeping on the ice bed and it been cold, it turned out fine with the equipment they provided. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly

Review 7:Expensive dinner and sauna. Long wait to check in and out. Can't understand why toilet facilities were not adjacent to lockers. Very overpriced even for Finland!

Review 8:Interesting camping experience. Good sauna experience.

Review 9:Reception didn't open till 7am so if you need to leave early (like we did) you miss out on getting your certificate. Drinks in the Ice bar and meals are very expensive.

Review 10:A very unique experience that our family loved. Friendly, helpful staff. Meal in ice restaurant was yummy.

Review 11:Was not woken for northern lights. We requested this twice and it seems no one in the ice hotel was bothered to be woken - very poor. If staying in ice hotel the facilities are terrible! Public shower only available for 1hr of evening or 3 hrs in morning. The restaurant area does not have and water, tea/coffee facilities. Honestly your in the middle of no where, its too cold to sit in ice room so your only option is to sit in restaurant and you have to ask reception for a glass of water... For price you pay the facilities are dreadful. If you go, eat dinner before you go and dont go early.

Review 12:One off experience

Review 13:I loved the location. There was a frozen lake, we could go to walk and snowshoeing there. Staff was very kind and helpful. Sleeping bags were very warm, they provided us a wake up "call" with hot tea.

Review 14:Hot spot is beyond my image! Highly recommend! Resort is beautiful, and there are 10 beds in a normal house, if you feel cold in the ice room just go to the warm room, not worry about the temperature. The best ice hotel I ever try

Review 15:We stayed in the Snow Hotel. Best experience was hot tub when there was -31°C outside. Snow Sauna was also quite something, but not that hot. Also, the regular sauna wasn't hot enough for us, but maybe that's because we've used to sauna and know what to expect. Staying in the snow hotel wasn't that bad as afraid although i'm not usually sleeping well in sleeping bags. Anyway, i'd call it a once-in-a-lifetime experience :)

Review 16:access to overnight toilet facilities needs to be reviewed why not have a dvd to provide info about how snow village built each year... very young staff who did not have customer service focus. we didn't see a single person with any maturity...

Review 17:the novelty of experience.. dinner in ice restaurant...

Review 18:Getting there is only possible by taxi (expensive) or transfer bus (30 euro p.person). The sleeping comfort in the ice room just ok. You leave all your stuff in the warm room in a locker and go in your underwear to the ice room to sleep. You are in a sleeping bag with little legs freedom and your nose outside is still very cold. Take a nose warmer if you can :) If you need to go to the bathroom at night (advise - don't) you get out of the sleeping bag, put your feet in your icecold shoes, go to the locker in the warm room, take your jacket and go tho the main building... Getting back into the bag is hard. Everything is according to the scedule, icebar opening hours, waking up, shower... All in all it is quite an expericence, but be prepared for extreme conditions.

Review 19:Good looking and nicely lit ice and snow rooms decorated thematically (also bar, restaurants and a chapel) where you can take as many pictures as you like. Not bad breakfast. You are being woken up with hot berry juice in bed. Wake up service possibility if there are northern lights at night and you would like to see them.

Review 20:the ice bed concept was really good but the day we stayed was -30•c, which was hardy sleeping. But one night only , that was great experience since they provided very good quality sleeping bed.

Review 21:not well planned hotel facilities. no showers, no big common toilet, just 2 small ones for everyone. Toilet far away, during night is needed to walk on freezing night cold to go to bathroom. Lockers too far from the room.

Review 22:experience of sleeping in igloo, ice fishing, ice bar. Snow sauna and open air jacuzzi were great!

Review 23:Only one bath for all gests. Poor breakfast. You have to paid for everything.

Review 24:The igluu hotel us really wonderful. But paying as much as 250€ for sleeping in bad conditions is not recommendable.

Review 25:The experience is amazing..

Review 26:Nice experience. A very different night inside the snow

Review 27:no facilities around, bathing times are restricted

Review 28:the structure and staff were nice, we were given a tour of the place.

Review 29:Can sleep

Review 30:Nice experience

Review 31:Add ones, such as transfers and dinner, are expensive.

Review 32:The suites are stunning. The ice restaurant served very good food.

Review 33:Breakfast is not rich enough and not enough menu for snacks there might be more shuttles for various places and activities.

Review 34:Helpfull stuff

Review 35:No toilet facilities in the suites. Kinda troublesome

Review 36:The kota teepee dinner wasnt as they advertised.

Review 37:Beautiful hotel, they have a nice staff with good facilities.

Review 38:Breakfast too simple. The snow sauna is not worth for the price.

Review 39:Toilet is far away from where we stay. Specially no way can do after main building closed at 2330pm

Review 40:Friendly staff with great service orientation

Review 41:Literally everything about our stay was awful. Avoid this hotel-- it isa nightmare. The website is extremely misleading.

Review 42:Facilities for bathroom and toilets

Review 43:Experience in cold, with facilities remote and self tolerance!

Review 44:They don't have a specific room to luggage. The reception get messy with all the luggage. And they should have rest and bath room inside the ice place

Review 45:Great service, unbelievable experience!

Review 46:The registration process (check in) was not very well organized so wehad to wait around 30 min to start.

Review 47:Fantastic hotel with great facilities! Unforgetable snow sauna andjaccuzzi open air made in ice. We spent great night in the snow hoteland had a very good dinner in one of four snow restaurant. And finally, celebrated the great stay with a shot of local vodka served in a shotglas made from ice. We had 9 minutes to drink it before it melts :))

Review 48:a little expensive, a little far from city, inconvenient restroom, wifi only available in the lobby

Review 49:friendly staff, city pickup and dropoff service, well-designed, very comfortable and warm sleeping bag

Review 50:The clouds therefore we could not see the northern lights

Review 51:Great staff, unique location, more facilities than we anticipated, fun experience, close to ski resort in Rovaniemi

Review 52:The bus transfer service that the hotel offered was 45 mins late which was unacceptable. However, they charged it fully.

Review 53:Beautiful, true once in a life time experience worth the money. Snow sauna recommended! There were plenty of extra sleeping bags provided in case you were cold. Personel were friendly.

Review 54:Impossibility to have economic dinner if not booked before. We had to come Back To rovaniemi for dinner. No other possibility to fast eat something inside.

Review 55:The structure. The organization And Services in general. Breakfast Very rich

Review 56:N/A

Review 57:Sleeping a night in a snowhotel was a wonderfull esperience. It was a dream that became through. Also the location was very nice and staff was very helpfull

Review 58:All a bit controlled. Almost like a school trip. Dinner was at a certain time. The bar was open at a certain time, then closes quickly. The small lounge was a bit too small and seating was limited. There should have been a proper luggage room where luggage could be stored rather than being left in the reception area.

Review 59:The design of the snow hotel was amazing. For a one night stay the whole thing was a good experience.

Review 60:Seems to be way overpriced. We paid 625 Euro per night for the room of4. Breakfast was quite poor for that kind of price. No other servicesare included, and the price you have to pay for the extra costs (snowsauna, dinner etc) is unreasonably high. 50 Euro per person for thedinner in ice restaurant is too much, knowing that the food was mainlyfrozen food heated in microwave. Also note that there are no comfortablealternative for those who decide not to spend the night in the snowafter arrival. My wife with 4-years-old daughter didn't want to stayin extreme conditions and the only opportunity was to stay in theluggage room with the layer beds like in cheap student campus wherepeople pass by here and back all night. Luckily, some staff was kindenough to let them stay in their own room, which were of the samecomfort, but at least isolated. There is also not much to do and notenough place to spend the time after dinner in the evening as fireplaceroom is nice but very small. I would not recommend this hotel for thepeople sensitive to the comfort and young children, for all others it isworth to stay, but the price is still an issue (that might be the reasonwhy the hotel was almost empty

Review 61:Stay in the hotel is really exotic. You will definitely never forget it.Ambience is really unique, hotel looks like Snow Queen's den, especially in the night. Snow sauna and snow bath is outstandingexperience.

Review 62:would be nice if there was some group gathering or activity whereas a time is set for all the guests to sit and play games, get to know each other , etc. considering there isnt much entertainment in the night. perhaps if not include the sauna in the price, atleast reducing the cost a bit to make it less of a problem with guests needing to pay.

Review 63:the whole experience was great, as an architect it was interesting to see a hotel made of snow, the designs were fun, the snow sauna and snow bathing were a first time experience. the staff was just amazingly friendly and helpful.... the sleep in the thermal sleeping bag was unexpectingly warm, a bit tight given i am a big and tall man. but slept like a baby nonetheless.

Review 64:All the staff were friendly and helpful. Food in the Ice Restaurant was delicious and the portion size was great. Sleeping sacks kept us warm all night. Loved the room and the warm berry juice in the morning. Breakfast was great. Our children ages 8 & 6 loved the experience. They set up transfer for us from airport and to our next hotel. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Review 65:You have to pay for all the extras, ie sauna, snow sauna. Drinks are 10euros. No extra payment for shower.

Review 66:You just need to do it once in your life! Food was really nice in thewooden cabin. Possibility to sleep in heated room as well. Cleansleeping bags and liners. Nice tours around the place.

Review 67:Location so far away and almost no public transportation to get there.

Review 68:ice room, spa, feel good.

Review 69:That the resturants and bars closed fairly early

Review 70:I loved the whole thing, had a great night sleep was cozy. Would have stayed again

Review 71:Very extensive, also the additional services (snow sauna,... ) has to be paid extra

Review 72:Nice people, beautiful surrounding

Review 73:Great experience for people who are looking for something different and unique...

Review 74:it was quite expensive - for meals and for the stay.

Review 75:staff very friendly and accommodating

Review 76:Not convenient from rovaniemi center to hotel.

Review 77:Excellent design for the snow house. Friendly staff.
