Review 1:Lovely friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Comfortable room with excellent facilities. Great selection for breakfast. Ideal location for harbour and shops. Recommended ++
Review 2:Nothing
Review 3:Lovely British B&B - friendly, great breakfast, comfortable. ...very enjoyable stay. But above all don't let the very cute cats out the front door :)
Review 4:Excellent breakfasts, along with friendly and helpful owners who are interested in the service they provide. The Palms is so close to the harbour and the museum, and is excellent value for money. It was a tiny single ensuite, booked at the last minute, but it provided everything that was needed for my three nights, thank you.
Review 5:I liked everything there was nothing I didn't like
Review 6:The room was excellent and clean for what I wanted and the breakfast was very nice and the owners where very polite, friendly and very welcoming throughout the stay
Review 7:We only booked the small double room, and we were placed in a larger room when we arrived, which is also very small. But.... for the price and location you cannot complain, its unbeatable.
Review 8:Great Place and a Great Host! Right next to all the main attractions in tourquay, Shops Bars etc. Lovely Breakfast.
Review 9:N/A
Review 10:The proximity to the town centre and most especially the management team. They are soo friendly, very approachable and readily ready to offer help and support.
Review 11:There is nothing not to like in my opinion. A good traditional family guest house.
Review 12:I have stayed at the palms previously on 3 occasions. Each time we have stayed we have had a fab holiday.Judith and Graham are excellent hosts and make you feel welcome. Breakfast sets you up for the day and the rooms are home from home. Beds ate comfy and the power showers are really good.
Review 13:Only tricky thing was walking up the hill several times a day but Torquay has lots of surrounding hills so this cannot be changed.
Review 14:location close to the town and all staff at the hotel were very friendly.
Review 15:Wonderful friendly proprietors, lovely room, lovely breakfast. Could not have asked for more. And also a wonderful selection of DVDS to choose from to take to your room
Review 16:Rooms are nice and clean. It's very close to the harbour site (5 min walking distance. shops and restaurants just around the corner. Free car park. Love it. I will highly recommend.
Review 17:Everything! Superb location just off the harbour but quiet enough for good night's sleep in comfy bed. Very welcoming and friendly proprietors, Judith and Graham, who made the effort to make you feel at ease.Tasty breakfasts, cooked to order.
Review 18:The hot water tap in the Room 4 sink took ages to run hot. The street outside could be noisy on Friday and Saturday nights.
Review 19:The owners (Graham and Judith) were extremely friendly and helpful. They were always enquiring how was your day and your plans for the following day. They provided lots of excellent local information. Location of the Guest House was great as it took only 5-minutes to walk to the center of town and the marina.
Review 20:Nil!
Review 21:Spotlessly clean hotel with one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. Great choice at breakfast including a freshly baked fry up that is delicious. A nice touch is that there's a selection of books, games and dvds spread around the hotel for guests use. Very friendly hosts with good local knowledge. Highly recommended.
Review 22:Judith and Graham maintain the highest standards throughout while creating a most homely and welcoming atmosphere. I am going to recommend 'the Palms' to all my friends!
Review 23:Hotel is in need of updating but it was made better with the cleaness of it,My main concern was the steps up to the hotel. They were very steep and uneven. The back steps were even worse. If you do go to this hotel ask if you can go out of the fire door it is easier. As I am a little unsteady on my feet this was quite worrying.
Review 24:Very nice friendly couple that ran the hotel. Made to feel very welcome.Breakfast was very good and service was excellent.Rooms were clean.
Review 25:The owners were very friendly, comfy and clean rooms, ideal location being so close to the harbour. Great breakfast. Great value, would definately stay again. Thank you.
Review 26:Pleased that there was cheese included at breakfast but it was warm and liquidy so inedible. When asked about the stay by the man of the house I replied that I couldn't get hot water, rather than being polite he became very affronted and he made me feel very uncomfortable with comments about being given a bad review and so on. Floorboards broken and generally run down. Most unromantic place ever.
Review 27:Leaflets available on surrounding area. Breakfast was good
Review 28:Friendly and welcoming, room had all the facilities we wanted, TV, Fridge, tea/coffee.....even a DVD player, breakfast was lovely and the staff very accommodating to our needs. The Palms is very close to the centre and harbour.

Review 30:Fantastic welcome rooms spotless fantastic breakfast and cooked to perfection very friendly people I will be going back there again
Review 31:10am check-out which we consider too early. 1hr window for breakfast, meaning everybody needed tables at the same time. Due to not enough dining tables, we had to wait in the living room until a table became available.
Review 32:Very friendly owners and high-level of cleanliness.Great location and good value for money.
Review 33:We were welcomed from the minute we arrived. The breakfast lasted most of the day with a great choice. The hotel was only 10 minutes walk from the clock tower and marina with shops, bars, entertainment and transport in easy reach.
Review 34:Lots of steps but not too far up Babbacombe Road
Review 35:Made us feel very welcome without over-doing it. Breakfast was lovely and always had a sausage waiting for my dog afterwards! Moved us to a lower floor very willingly - parking was free but in car park up the road
Review 36:We booked last minute and had to settle for the small double room so storage was a little limited.
Review 37:Breakfast was excellent. Owners where friendly, will definitely visit again.
Review 38:Was advertised as licensed but it wasn't .Had to park away from the b & b as there was only room for two cars.
Review 39:excellent location for all the attractions.Very impressed with how fast they dealt with problems.Very satisfying breakfast.
Review 40:The room although well equipped and clean had very little space either side of the double bed.
Review 41:We arrived late in the evening and has a warm welcome. The location is excellent with only a short distance to the centre and seafront. We took our cocker spaniel with us and he was welcomed too, including a sausage after breakfast! The facilities were clean and the breakfast was freshly cooked and very nice with a good selection
Review 42:Just that the full breakfast not available till 8:30 am ,they were very kind to leave continental type facilities, but would have liked the full english but had to leave earlier
Review 43:Location nice room
Review 44:Made to feel very welcome. Great location. Gorgeous breakfast. Nothing too much trouble. Good facilities and very clean. Thankyou so much had a lovely stay. Would definitely stay again.
Review 45:Lovely stay, was made to feel very welcome, room was lovely and clean and big enough for the three of us. Breakfast was lovely and they gave us some tips on where to go. Cats were gorgeous!!
Review 46:Only thing I could moan about was the parking arrangements. The male proprietor was keen to see the car parked but I wonder what the parking arrangements would have been with a full hotel?
Review 47:The staff and the breakfast were wonderful.
Review 48:Would have really appreciated conditioner as well as shampoo, as some hotels have- my long hair suffered from it!
Review 49:Very comfortable room, tasty breakfast, great value for money.
Review 50:We enjoyed our time there.
Review 51:We have just come back from a 3night break and can honestly say that there is nothing i don't like about it everything is just what you need.
Review 52:Parking is a slight issue with only 2 allocated spaces but the hotel gave me free access to a car park just up the road instead. The cooked breakfast was nice but modest.
Review 53:The double room was advertised as small but was ample for an overnight stay. Everything, importantly the bathroom was clean. The lady manager/owner was really welcoming and helpful.
Review 54:The hotel was spotless clean and the proprietors were extremely helpfully. The hotel was nice and warm day and night and the breakfast was hot well cooked and good choice.located in a good place 5 min walk from the harbour and shops/restaurants.
Review 55:My only niggle would be the car parking is not on site it is up the hill a way.
Review 56:This hotel is centrally located and has excellent facilities. The breakfast was top notch and the hosts very friendly. We had the triple room which was small but catered to our needs exactly. Having a small fridge was a good touch. We will definitely stay again next time we are in the area.
Review 57:Not a dislike, but be aware of a slight hill.
Review 58:Location, food, staff, room, all up to a high standard, will let my friends know, and i'm sure i will be back.
Review 59:Mattress was a little lumpy and plugs a little awkward to access but would stay there again.
Review 60:The hospitality was excellent and the accommodation great. Breakfast was served quickly and very tasty. Overall lovely place to stay.
Review 61:cant fault this b and b
Review 62:everything lovely couple who run the place will defantly be going back i went down to see my kids and there even made them breackfast thank you so much for making us welcome yours faithfully richard
Review 63:I can't think of anything!
Review 64:The helpfulness of the couple who run the hotel (e.g. carrying our bags upstairs while I reparked the car), the provision of a small fridge in the rooms which allows you to use real milk for tea/coffee, very comfortable furniture (2 armchairs in the bedroom), an amazing breakfast and a great location, 3 minutes walk from the harbour. There's even a little bar in the hotel for a late night tipple!
Review 65:N/A!!!
Review 66:A breakfast to die for! Anything you could want for breakfast was there & a full English cooked however you like it. The owners are very friendly & make you very welcome, will stay again. PS. Free secure parking at the rear.
Review 67:Wifi didn't work but didnt really matter no bad points
Review 68:The location of the hotel was excellent. Staff very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.
Review 69:Nothing it was all excellent
Review 70:Excellent facility in every way and central to all restaurants and local attractions. Hotel had everything we needed. Staff were wonderful
Review 71:Our room was right on the top floor and quite a hike up a lot of stairs every night to get to our room,if I stayed there again which I would I would ask to be on the lower floors.
Review 72:Location was great as within walking distance to all bars and restaurant and shops. Close to beach front. The owners were very friendly and pleasant and the breakfast was very good.
Review 73:Nothing to dislike!!!!
Review 74:Great value. Great location. Fantastic four poster bed. Very good breakfast which was a good starter for the day ahead. Free parking. We where at the Palms for 5 days. Would definitely stay again. Graham and Judith were great hosts.!!!!!
Review 75:We have given The Palms Hotel excellent on all counts as we could not find any to complain about comfortable beds great location short stroll to harbour best breakfast we have ever had and owners who were so helpful.Full marks Well Done will return again.Thank You.
Review 76:nothing
Review 77:if you want to enjoy torquay book in at the palms two minutes walk to the marina breakfast is first class as much as you want beds warm and comfy hotel is spotless and graham the owner is very helpful
Review 78:There were many steps to the front door from a busy road, the main car parking was a 5 minute walk away. Our room was a little small and storage space would not have been sufficient had we been staying for more than a couple of nights.
Review 79:The location was very near town centre and harbour. The Palms is very well furnished and spotlessly clean. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. The full breakfast was very good.
Review 80:Nothing to dislike
Review 81:Owners couldn't do enough for you. Quiet location just a stroll down the hill to city centre. Great view of park across road. Nice breakfast.
Review 82:Room 6. VERY small single room. Double glazing not very effective. Door from room to landing had large gap all way around, thus letting in hall lights. Not good. Car parking to rear of building very restricted. (Glad I did not have my X5 on this trip!)
Review 83:Hosts not to intrusive. Comfy bed. Breakfast ok.
Review 84:Car parking was provided offsite up the hill but in a secured area, would have been good to access this easier.
Review 85:The owner/hostess was so helpful and personable. Offering to carry bags etc. The breakfast was great, good variety and service. Room was clean, comfortable and very spacious so as a family, we were not climbing all over each other to move around. Cannot fault this place.
Review 86:Nothing!!
Review 87:Sam and I had a thoroughly enjoyable time in Torquay and the experience was enhanced by our stay at this lovely hotel. Judith and Graham are very friendly and welcoming, we felt very 'at home' while away which is great. Nice clean room, great breakfast and very close to all the attractions in town. We'll be back. Thanks
Review 88:Not a negative but something to consider if you cannot manage stairs/steps is the walk back uphill from the marina, and there is a path/steps from the pavement up to the B&B.
Review 89:Good location, 5 mins walk to the marina. Comfortable, clean room, with fantastic shower. Lovely freshly cooked hot breakfast, as well as cereals, juice, toast, etc. Very friendly owners/staff.
Review 90:location was ideal for visiting family. all staff were very helpful and friendly, the owner helpfully arranged our taxi making our day easier as we were attending a wedding. he also waited for us to arrive even though it was after midnight
Review 91:Very pleasant hosts and quite helpful room clean and tidy food very nice and plenty off it I would not hesitate to stay there again was also close to all amenities.
Review 92:Bathroom was a bit small.
Review 93:The breakfast was very good and plenty of choice rooms were clean and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful, let us leave our luggage there until we were picked up in the afternoon.
Review 94:Ideally located, only a few mins walk to the harbour, bars and restaurants, we stayed in room 7 on the top floor at the front of the hotel which benefited from brand new double grazing so there was zoro noise from traffic at night and a good night sleep, breakfast was freshly cooked and plenty of choice. They even made the effort to put a birthday card in our room for my wife's birthday, free parking was a added bonus at the rear of the property, would definatley recommend and will go back to the palms hotel. Thank you.
Review 95:The fact that my stay at the Palms had to come to an end
Review 96:Judith and Graham were the perfect hosts. I spent seven nights in a very comfortable room, and bed. After spending most of my days investigating Torquay, with a very substantial breakfast inside me, it was very comforting to know that I would be returning to a quiet and welcoming hotel. The Palms is very well located. Just a stroll away from the town, but far enough away not to be disturbed by the town noise. All in all I would recommend the Palms to everyone.
Review 97:i loved everything about this hotel (guest house) the owners were brilliant very friendly and could not do enough for you i would recommend this guest house to anybody it was brill thank you very much.
Review 98:Excellent Family room with lovely views. Comfy beds, quality bed linen and modern decor. Very welcoming owners, could not do enough for you. Good location, just up from Marina. Free parking. Excellent value for money, would love to stay there again.
Review 99:No complaints at all, if you have a disability which some of the other reviews have highlights, there's an entrance round the back of the B&B that suits just fine.
Review 100:We visited for a friend's wedding as group of young friends and despite the hotelier's wife being away he went out of his way to be kind and helpful. The room was spotless, the location brilliant, and he event pointed us towards the parking which we were very grateful for after the long drive down. Couldn't recommend more, the man must be a saint for the patience he showed us!
Review 101:Now't!
Review 102:*Friendly helpful proprietor who looked after us well with a sense of humour! *Cosy room with lovely view of the curvy hills of Torquay. *Tasty breakfast, perfect poached eggs! *Easy walking distance to places to frequent.
Review 103:the choice and quality of breakfast, comfort and all facilities were supplied in the bedroom, a bright and airy hotel within comfortable walking distance to Torquay centre, and to complete my survey the owners are more than happy to make sure all their guests have had a comfortable stay.
Review 104:The hosts were very friendly , the room was clean and spacious, the out look from the window was very nice over looking a well kept park parking was secure and of easy access, the breakfasts was very nice, the location of the hotel was excellent for walks to the harbour/town or to kents cavern (20) mins we did not use the car for the whole week we were there, And are looking forward to going back in the near future Thank you both for a lovey stay
Review 105:Nothing really.
Review 106:We liked the friendly owners who made us feel very welcome. They helped me to manage my young daughter and helped with advice about fun things to keep her busy! The hotel was comfortable and very clean with great room facilities. A great breakfast too.
Review 107:the hill lol .
Review 108:this is are 2nd time here and we loved it .nice rooms breakfast is very good and as for Judith and graham are very nice people always got time to talk with u
Review 109:We stayed for my Birthday and my Daughters arranged with the owners to have wine in our room, but she even wrote a card from them and one from them as well, it was a lovely touch.
Review 110:Just returned from our 2nd Visit to The Palms hotel and we were all, once again perfectly happy with our stay. We booked 2xDouble rooms 1x Single and a Triple room for our party all of which were perfect for our groups needs. Judith and Graham are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The beds were all very comfortable with good quality linen and the towels especially good quality. The breakfast that is included in the price is really good quality and portioned just right with eggs cooked to your liking. The location of the hotel is a perfect distance from the noises of the town centre, just 5 minutes walk away which means you can't hear too much when you return at night, the new windows have been fitted with a respect for the age of the building and very tastefully done. There are tea and coffee making facilities in each room, good wardrobe space with enough hangers for a three night stay, a hair dryer and small amount of toiletries are also provided. There is even a little fridge for your use. We really enjoyed our previous visit, we enjoyed this visit even more and we will certainly be booking for 2015 to enjoy the hotel once again.
Review 111:Nothing really to dislike, a lack of parking round the back wasn't ideal but nothing major.
Review 112:Very nice breakfast, extremely close to the seafront, clean rooms, tidy, very friendly people, no problems at all with anything, would definitely recommend and stay there again.
Review 113:Our stay was too short we wish we could have stayed longer, we WILL be back.
Review 114:Staff were very helpful, location was good, car park was safe. Dog friendly.
Review 115:Climbing the steps to the entrance, also lack of parking, had to use optional car park up the hill, which was difficult if you had walking problems
Review 116:The staff were very friendly plus helpfull. the maid service was excellent.the room was situated on the first floor
Review 117:There are a lot of hills in Torquay. Still, without them you wouldn't get the fabulous views!
Review 118:A gem of a find. Plenty of free parking in car park round the back. Good breakfast and very friendly, helpful proprietors. Would definitely return.
