Reviews for Diamond House
Review 1:When you enter, you will feel smell of Chinese wok dish. All hotel is tired and requires refurbishment. Reception seems to be 20 years old and property us desparate to be upgraded. Room TV with poor boomy sound and the power socket was damaged. The single room is small and hot water in the shower is so hot that it is nightmare to do the shower. Bath room is also old with complete refurbishment required.
Review 2:Staff flexibility that she provided additional portable heater to deal with cold. The property looks good from outside and its location in front of park is beautiful to walk as there is a nice park in front of it. Clean bed linen.
Review 3:The fact that we couldn't get any cutlery to eat in our room, and the card machine didn't wrk.
Review 4:Our room was very nice easy access to outside for a smoke, the man that greeted us was friendly.
Review 5:Did not have a bar but not that important, lots of stair climbing to some of the rooms for the more senior members in our team.
Review 6:Close to town centre, quiet comfortable rooms and friendly staff.
Review 7:When I arrived I had to wait for 40-45 minutes before the staff arrived to let me in. This was late in the afternoon, after 4 o clock.
Review 8:THe hotel was fine.
Review 9:Bed was too soft, sagged in the middle when 2 people lying in it. Noise from other residents
Review 10:Location - so close to the centre, own parking. Room clean and in good condition despite the look of the rest of the Hotel.
Review 11:The sink was in the bedroom instead of the bathroom, and the whole place was very old, rather moldy, and the wallpaper was peeling away from the walls and ceilings. Our room was at the front of the building and we had to close the curtains to get privacy as there was no voile.
Review 12:The location
Review 13:In typical English style, the rooms were damp and the beds were damp, too. That's what British weather will do to you, but a heater should automatically be provided for each room, if nothing else, to dry it out.
Review 14:Very old fashioned and tired, a bit like stepping back to the 1970's. Felt like a BB/half way house. The room had a bedroom type door with a very feeble lock, so i did not feel very secure
Review 15:Location
Review 16:old, tired, dated, poor rooms ours in roof space (all 3 of us had similar rooms) with only roof lights very hot on the hot day we were there and roof lights didn't operate properly and were too high to reach easily and too high to see out of - a bit like a cell really. My room had an enuite, clean but very dated, the other 2 guests has a shower in corner of room and a basin and shared a WC down the corridor (advertised as ensuites)
Review 17:close to town & on site parking
Review 18:The room was large and pleasant. Everything we needed was available - even an efficient iron and ironing board. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival.
Review 19:The public toilet next to my room..people were slamping the door
Review 20:I liked the location so close to the city. My friend pick me up easily also by car. Easy to find it.
Review 21:Hotel is a little 'tired' with peeling paper on the dining room ceiling, signs of damp on the bedroom walls, and sockets not working. Alex Polizzi would have a field day.
Review 22:Friendly owner and a nice breakfast
Review 23:Wi fi was a bit hit and miss. Breakfasts very limited (okay if you wanted a big fry up)
Review 24:Good parking, within easy walking distance of Rugby and it's shops restaurants and bars
Review 25:Very uncomfortable bed, springs that poked you through the matress asyou turned over. Member of staff tried to overcharge me by over £30 onpre booked price. Luckily still had confirmation paperwork with me.
Review 26:Good food, but limited time that dining room was open. ( only1/2 hour)
Review 27:Lovely staff and lovely breakfast. Best I've had in a long time. Friendly staff! Room was large and facilities were good. Lovely shower! I'd definitely go back and staff next time I'm in rugby. Five minute walk into town too.
Review 28:Absolutely nothing.
Review 29:Spacious, high ceilinged room. Light and airy. Loads of storage space. Desk and chairs. Great shower. Quiet location with on site parking. Friendly, helpful staff.
Review 30:Very uncomfortable bed, the toilet did not have any shampoo and it had mold. The towels and floor carpet have seen better days. Outdated furniture. Certainly not a good value for the money spent.
Review 31:Friendly staff, did their best to help.
Review 32:Really cold in a winter. Radiator was hot but due to size of the room, it was really cold. I slept under 2 duvets. Cleaner started hovering outside my door at 7:00am!! No information in the room about the hotel at all.
Review 33:Rooms are clean but looking tired. Staff very friendly and onsite parking was a big bonus for me. Shower was nice and hot.
Review 34:There wasn't anythink I didn't like.
Review 35:The room was exceptional very professional and clean a lot of space for parking I would recommend this hotel to anybody stopping around rugby
Review 36:Bedsprings in my back.tv didn't work.towels very thin because of age.like walking into a 1970"s time warp.complete with patterned polystyrene tiles on walls.serious fire danger.i thought these were illegal.wont be going back for certain.
Review 37:Room fairly tatty decor. TV was losing signal constantly from freeview. Toilet wouldn't always flush. No iron or board. Sheets cleaned but had stubborn stains on.
Review 38:Was convenient for town centre. Plenty of parking on site. come an go as u please.
Review 39:The hotel is a bit tired looking, carpets are a bit battered and it needs a refurbish but it does the trick we were comfy and it was clean!
Review 40:great having a little kitchen in the room for coffee, hot chocolate and a bacon buttie! location was perfect for the leisure centre and pool where we were competing
Review 41:Communal road getting to car-park at the back has a few pot holes.
Review 42:Staff were very polite and helpful. Ease to find and near to most facilities in the area. Some rooms had cooking facilities. Some rooms were large.
Review 43:Just wanted to give a good review as the Diamond had some bad reviews which I think are unfair. My stay was great in all respects for the money and would definitely return
Review 44:The room smelt damp, so strongly that I didn't become accustommed to it, and it disturbed my sleep. There was black mould high up on the bathroom walls and on the ceiling. The toilet, despite having a paper 'band' around the seat and lid (presumably to show I would be the first person to use it after it had been cleaned) contained a poo. The most disgusting thing was the light pull cord in the bathroom. It was black - not just discoloured, but BLACK for the whole length up to about 6ft. above that it was white. The reason I found this so disgusting was that the wash hand basin was situated outside the bathroom in the bedroom itself, leading me to hypothesise what could have made the cord so dirty....
Review 45:I requested soya milk and dairy free margarine and they were provided. Unfortunately the margarine was not dairy free, so they hadn't really checked if it was suitable. I did appreciate their willingness to try though!
Review 46:On arrival the manager handed out key then had no interest in giving advice on hotel facilities, wifi access or local amenities. The standard of the hotel decoration and repair is low. Poor finishing lets the place down. No lifts. The price paid for the room was not reflected in the quality of the accommodation.
Review 47:Location was good for access to the centre of town. Plentiful car parking.
Review 48:Had just one night stay and for that this hotel is acceptabel. No luxury, an acceptabel english breakfast, but a bit hard beds.
Review 49:Fiendly and welcoming staff.
Review 50:There was black mould in the en-suite. It was disgusting. Otherwise tidy but maybe the mould is from ageing. Needs updating.
Review 51:It was a good location and nice size room. Needs some modernising as decor is a bit dated.
Review 52:Looked a little shabby in places
Review 53:The owner offered me a car parking space in the hotel although the normal parking area was full Excellent location for town and surrounding area Good sized room and pleasant dining area
Review 54:He was very interested in what we had to say, very helpfully, polite, and could not do enough for us. We will be visiting Rugby a few more times and will make Diamond house our place to stay.
Review 55:decor slightly dated (being picky here) TV slightly small given the size of the room.
Review 56:Pleasing appearance, size of rooms, facilities in rooms, friendliness of staff
Review 57:Slightly musty smell, nor many staff - being run on a limited budget (most functions performed by owner). Wi-Fi tended to drop out sometimes but ok when working.
Review 58:Was to specification, ok breakfast, ok service, ok room, car park (around the back) up rough road.
Review 59:what wasn't there to like, Ok the furniture isn't G-Plan but it was comfortable and the Mattress, the room was a very good size, wonderful roomy shower, constant hot water, and a good breakfast, and cheap, and most important ''off road parking''
Review 60:room was damp.In fact found a snail on carpet. mattress was very thin and bed uncomfortable. heating switched off. sink was situated outside of bathroom
Review 61:Could not get any wifi even with password got up in the morning found the shower didn't work breakfast served too late as had to be at my destination by 9 am breakfast served 8-30 to 9-00 am
Review 62:Not a lot
Review 63:The room was cold and the bed was hard, but that was just from our points of view, and someone else may view things differently.
Review 64:As our room was located on the main road, and due to the noise somewhat, we asked to move to the back of the hotel, and everything was much quieter. The manager was very accommodating, understanding and helpful in the circumstances. Breakfast was included in the price, it was good, and the guests could choose what they wanted. All of the staff, who we came across, were very helpful and friendly.Very good value for money for the room, constant hot water, free parking to the rear and the breakfast. We would definitely stay there again, as and when we are next back in the area. We recommend it.
Review 65:Decor poor beds not comfy clothes left in wardrobe and finally the kettle had black mould in it

Review 92:The mattress
Review 93:Bed was so uncomfortable but room was huge and a lot for the money.staff was great.
Review 94:Not too bad, but the bed wasn't very comfortable.
Review 95:Friendly, flexible staff. Very good location . Nice shower.
Review 96:Very grubby and smelt of damp, also our family room had all the wallpaper coming off the wall ans loose plaster on the head board area.
