Reviews for Ambassador Court Hotel

Review 1:very helpful and friendly staff.Nice standard of the room, everything new clean and recently refurbished.Comfy bed, pretty good wifi connection.Spacious parking at the back of the hotel.

Review 2:Despite Booking.com clearly stating the hotel accepts Amex, they in fact do not. Although I booked a month in advance, I was contacted by the hotel only two days before our stay (too late to find an alternative) and had to provide my own Visa details for pre-auth of the full cost (all 3 rooms). To their credit, the hotel allowed us to settle individually on arrival, but informed me I would have to wait 5 days for the pre-auth to be released. This could cause difficulty for some people...

Review 3:I booked 3 Executive King rooms for myself and 2 colleagues, a month in advance of our stay. Having stayed at other hotels in the area, we were most impressed with the size and comfort of our rooms. Both the rooms and public areas were very clean (the latter also very modern), and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's our view that this hotel offers better quality accommodation at a lower price than many of the other hotels in the area.

Review 4:Being really picky - the water pressure in the shower was a bit low and there is no lift - so be prepared for a few trips to the room if you've got a bit of luggage!

Review 5:We had a great welcome and we were offered a free upgrade on arrival. The staff were really friendly, it was great value for money and it's just a short walk from the centre of High Wycombe. Most importantly, our room was great and the bed was lovely! I'll definitely book again!

Review 6:For what I required it covered all the bases.

Review 7:Excellent customer service no matter the time of day. Very warm and welcoming. I would recommend this establishment to others.

Review 8:No complaints.

Review 9:Staff very polite and helpful, made us very welcome, the hotel is very clean, real value for money, with lots of facilities within a 2 min walk, we were able to park our 30 ft truck on their grounds which was also very helpful.

Review 10:The room was refurbished - as new. So was the bathroom: sparkling new, clean, perfect. The staff was friendly and efficient. I took the king room at the back of the hotel, they're quite and I could see the squirrels play in the trees. In all an amazing value for money.

Review 11:The management and staff were very helpful and polite, especially after I had to extend my stay by an extra 7 days. The breakfast menu was very good and the full English breakfast was always cooked to order.

Review 12:Brilliant beds!! The shower was worth the bother with power in the spray and heat in the water. Our room was really quiet even though the hotel is on a main road.

Review 13:Our room was spotlessly clean, warm, well furnished, instant hot water in en-suite. Breakfast included a good. selection of cereals, coffee was hot, bread very fresh. Our hot breakfast came very quickly and was well cooked.

Review 14:Noise from reception staff talking late at night - we were in nearest room to reception Needed another lamp on desk in bedroom by mirror in kingsize room

Review 15:Friendly helpful staff Clean modern room and bathroom Good breakfast Free parking

Review 16:This hotel has clearly been refurbished in recent years and is kept extremely clean. The staff are pleasant and helpful. So, as it is in the less expensive range, it represents excellent value. There is a useful mini market next door, too.

Review 17:Friendly staff all said hello when they saw me. Room looked fresh/new and clean. Not the biggest room but fine for being close to things and having a place to sleep and shower

Review 18:The beds are very uncomfortable. If you enjoy a hard mattress that simulates sleeping on the floor then you'll have no complaints. I booked 4 nights as I commute for work. The first two nights I had no sleep. I was booked into a room on ground floor by reception. You can hear literally everything, people coming in and out, the window didn't keep the sound from the car park out either which isn't ideal when customers are reving their engines at 5:30 in the morning. The second night I was disrupted by noisy customers fighting at 2am. I was upgraded to the top floor after complaining where there was less noise but still the uncomfortable bed. There was no lift to the top floor which isn't great if you have heavy bags.

Review 19:The hotel is clean and the rooms are serviced daily. Clean bedsheets and well presented rooms.

Review 20:A bit chilly. Front ground floor twin room affords passing pedestrians with a stunning view of occupants. No bedside tables.

Review 21:Breakfast excellent. Good parking. Handy Morrisons convenience stroe and Petrol stn next door.

Review 22:Only extra would have been a hairdryer in my room. Perhaps they are in other rooms but this is the one thing I noticed that I would have liked.

Review 23:Spotlessly clean room, very modern but calm decoration, either recently done or the hotel is maintained meticulously. On arrival, a very friendly member of staff showed me to my room and offered to carry my bags. The room has more plug sockets than you need, which is perfect for business travellers with laptops, cameras etc to charge overnight. Nice, big, new TV, super comfy bed, and very quiet room. I was on the top floor, and the power and heat from the shower was impressive. There are two free wifi networks, both of which were measured at over 8.5mb/s with good signal so perfect for conducting late night business. Thank you.

Review 24:My reservation which I made weeks in advance had been changed prior to my arrival without notice. I was not impressed but did not complain as we were celebrating a special occasion. Faulty electrical socket in one room. Not stated that breakfast room was down a flight of stairs.

Review 25:This is a great hotel, we booked 2 rooms, both were well equipped, clean and comfortable, the breakfast was fantastic with excellent service. Staff were polite and welcoming.

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:A quiet room with tea/coffee facility. Location to North Dean where I was spending the weekend. Helpful owner who offered to put on some heating- I didn't need it.

Review 28:The bed was very hard!! And my husband had an allergic reaction to the shower gel in the dispenser and his head came up in lots of bumps and was very sore and itchy!

Review 29:Friendly people and lovely breakfast..we lost our key and despite being woken up at 1.30 am the staff were very understanding

Review 30:We decided to stay at this location because it's only a short train journey to London. Staff very polite and always asking if they can do anything else for you. Price was very good

Review 31:not a bad experience but missed not having a bar and lounge to round off the day

Review 32:extremely clean, staff very pleasant, nothing too much trouble, excellent breakfast. Would come back.

Review 33:Can't really fault room, but plug socket was not easy to reach to plug in kettle in our room if I was being picky

Review 34:Friendly staff , excellent breakfast

Review 35:Cleanliness & the staff were extremely good, they always asked if they could do anything for us, like carrying our bags up from the car park, whether we were comfortable and was there anything they could do. Also we had a room overlooking the car park & it was nice and quiet. Breakfast was very good, eggs done to perfection.

Review 36:Sometimes you can hear people in the next room, but all in all, a pleasant, quiet and relaxing experience.

Review 37:Very comfortable and relaxing rooms. Despite not being located at High Wycombe's town center, it's just a 10 to 15min walk from there, but also served with buses and taxis if you don't want to take a walk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Near LIDL which also provides with a wide range of low priced stuff, and right across a gas station for any last minute convenience purchase. Even being located right in front of the main W Wycombe Road, gas station and parking, the room was very well isolated from outside noises.

Review 38:Staff very friendly and accommodating, arrived early and as the room was ready we were able to check in straight away. Just was well as we didn't make it back from the Rugby until 2 a.m...wouldn't have been good checking in then!

Review 39:wasnt a lot to say about dislikes.

Review 40:the parking was situated to the rear which was very good for our motorcycles. it was very well situated for the town and the hotel was very clean.

Review 41:One minor point, there were no drinking glasses in the room

Review 42:The hotel was very good value for money, we were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the accommdation.

Review 43:I did not sleep very well because of the traffic noise, as my room was facing the main street.

Review 44:I asked for a "late check-in" as I was travelling from Spain to London and it was going to take me few hours to arrive to High Wycombe. They were so kind: they were waiting for me with a smile at reception. They also lent me a plug adapter to charge my mobile (even being late at night) and also cooked a delicious breakfast! Very kind staff!

Review 45:Would've liked bigger towels ( I know I'm being picky, but I'm used to using bath sheet size)

Review 46:Room was very clean and comfy and surprisingly quiet, seeing as it's next door to the 24 hour garage, didn't hear a thing!

Review 47:A lack of cooling or fans would defer me in hot weather yet on the other hand it would be ideal in the cooler months. A small sofa bed may be a better option for couples doing a brief stay with one young child but I haven't much to complain about.

Review 48:It was a one-night stay in a twin room with our 3yo. Everything seemed very nice and I slept well - perchance as we were all tired anyhow. In essence it is what we needed, the room was a little noisy so if we stay again we'd request a room at the rear - not facing the street. It was small but extremely clean and with everything that we needed. I imagine we could manage up to 3/4 days with just ourselves and our son. The bathroom was extremely clean (an important standard) and parking easy. I took a card to add to a small collection where I would stay again in the broader area.

Review 49:We're warned by a few locals in Bird in hand pub that it's a bit of a rough area but experienced no problems personally. Handy garage next door with Budgeons shop.

Review 50:Great staff friendly helpful & welcoming. Clean comfortable room free parking

Review 51:room was comfortable but a little too cosy. couldn't find a restaurant open in the town for a meal. instant coffee for breakfast.

Review 52:breakfast - cereals fruit toast croissants and then a full cooked breakfast. very helpful staff

Review 53:Not a problem for us but steep path to car park. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Review 54:Run by very friendly family. Glad we used this location as a base for visiting Oxford, Londo and Windsor. Booked 2 rooms (family of 3, 7yo daughter in with mum) High Wycombe train station is a 5 min drive away. Petrol filling station next door to hotel.

Review 55:I now stay here with regularity as it is always clean, the 4 rooms used to date are comfortable and a reasonable size, Check in is efficient, It has evidently been refurbished. Good Parking Facility. The center of High Wycombe is a comfortable 15 minute walk or 2 mins in the car. Free reasonable speed WIFI. Can not comment on Breakfast as I leave quite early.

Review 56:I can find nothing to complain about.

Review 57:The Staff are wonderful, so friendly and helpful. They always welcome you with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very clean and the WiFi is excellent. There is plenty of room in the car park as well. Definitely value for money.

Review 58:Bathroom maybe a little dated, that's just me being honest

Review 59:Great little hidden Gem. Didn't even know it was there. Great value for money. Ultimately my partner and I needed a bed for the night. Very pleased. Staff great

Review 60:Room was next to reception and they talked until after 10 pm which I could clearly hear. Request a room away from reception if you can

Review 61:Simple clean and friendly accommodation.

Review 62:Booked a room with breakfast included only to be told on arrival (the night before) that breakfast was not included and would cost £8 each. The following morning they 'realised' that we should have had breakfast included - but by then the breakfast service had ended. Instead of being apologetic or offering us some form of alternative. Front of house staff were most unhelpful, and told us that we should have been down in time for breakfast (why would we given that we had been told that we had no breakfast included!?). We offered them an opportunity to redeem themselves, by sending back a jumper that we forgot - however 2 weeks later, nothing has arrived and this sums up the poor quality of service to expect. Avoid at all costs.

Review 63:Absolutely nothing.

Review 64:The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and really made our stay. The room and ensuite was clean, modern and comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

Review 65:Totally amazed at the cleanliness, comfort and overall decor of the Amabassador Court, were expecting a lot less for the price but couldn't fault it excellent value for money and would def recommend it

Review 66:We stayed for one night, check in was pain free, the staff were lovely, the hotel was very comfortable. We had to leave earlier on morning of checkout that break started, we told reception this so they laid out breakfast an extra half hour ealier to make sure we were able to eat before we left! We were really appreciative!

Review 67:Room was hot. Window ineffective at keeping out street noise. Shower difficult to control for temperature.

Review 68:Clean and recently refurbished. Comfortable bed. Helpful staff.

Review 69:There was a wardrobe right next to bed which every time you turned over you banged your arm. Could hear everything people in next room were saying and doing. Reception was not maned 24/7

Review 70:Had a car park and it was clean and quite modern lookin

Review 71:We didn't expect to be asked for photographic ID on arrival! - fortunately my old driving licence was acceptable

Review 72:The room facilities were fine. It was important for us to have free parking.

Review 73:The breakfasts left a lot to be desired. Choices were limited to traditional only and the cooking disappointing. Even the coffee was primitive. The person delivering breakfast had little idea of what is expected in an English B&B.

Review 74:The room was excellent, newly refurbished and no problems.

Review 75:No problems.

Review 76:Reception staff were attentive and room adequate for our needs (recently refurbished). Car Park was handy as impossible to park nearby otherwise.

Review 77:Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Decorated and furnished to a high standard. We were so impressed that we have booked to stay there again.

Review 78:Our bedside lamp didn't have a light bulb which was in convenient and my brothers room had a flickering light but they were the only two negative things about the stay.

Review 79:The location was good for us as we needed to get to Marlow for dinner at the hand and flowers. The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a good size and they were clean, including the bathrooms which were very clean. Free parking and free wifi which was good.

Review 80:Better communication with us would have made this stay brilliant. Firstly, we we were asked on the first night what time we would like breakfast which was great, however we were not asked on the second night therefore missed out on a cooked breakfast as they do not cook them past 9am. Secondly, we had booked a triple room but were asked if we would be willing to swap to a twin + sofa bed as the group in the triple room wanted to extend their stay. We said yes in order to be helpful. The family room was lovely but not what we had wanted (sofa bed not as comfortable as a normal bed) but we were not offered any token of thanks for our inconvenience. Lastly, when I called the night of our arrival to explain we would be late due to being held up at work (and travelling from up north) I was told that our new arrival time was out of hours of what they would usually allow (despite the website saying there are people on reception until 11pm) Apart from these issues we had a pleasant stay.

Review 81:Modern interior and very clean Good location

Review 82:Great value for money, the hotel is nice, clean and comfy with nice bathroom facilities and everything we needed for our stay whilst we competed in the rowing regatta at dorney lake. Really handy to have a little supermarket next door open 24hrs.

Review 83:Only comment that would be negative was having to wait over half an hour for breakfast when we were asked what time we would be ready.

Review 84:The hotel recently refurbished to lovely standard. Ample parking. No noise from main road. Room and en-suite lovely and clean.Would visit again.

Review 85:The breakfast I was offered online was full english however I got a continental as they said that was the offer of the time so I let it go but went down to breakfast at 9:20 and it was all packed up! so had to find someone to get me some cereal & toast

Review 86:I loved the fact that the staff was really helpful - the place was newly refurbished - my room was on the same level as reception so as I have bad knees was great - good car parking

Review 87:Quite noisy during the night, some commotion early hours (my room was next to reception area), but also a bathroom fan or lift noise on and off all night.

Review 88:Hotel appeared recently refurbished, everything was very clean. All amenities in the room were great.

Review 89:Currently re-decorating. Basic breakfast.

Review 90:Staff helpful. Value for money. Had the room close to the water pump ( whirring noise every 15 seconds ) which is located in the corridor so no need to set the alarm in the morning!.

Review 91:Lovely hotel, was very quiet when we stayed there. beds were very comfortable, they were in the process of redecorating so there was a lot of paint fumes. but its looking good.

Review 92:There wasn't anywhere to eat an evening meal and no bar. I paid £6.99 for a cooked breakfast but when it arrived I noticed that the sausages were still raw. They had just been very slightly browned on the outside. I sent them back and two more arrived, slightly darker than the previous two but still not cooked. By this time the rest of my breakfast was cold and I was running late. I didn't get a chance to ask for a refund so I just left.

Review 93:The room was lovely. Very clean and comfortable. The staff were very attentive at the reception area. All good so far.

Review 94:Very very basic continental breakfast, only cereal and toast. Only one out of three lights working in bathroom. Curtains that didn't match the room colour.

Review 95:Comfortable beds. Enough wifi for face time

Review 96:I was disappointed that there was not a mirror in the room apart from in the bathroom.

Review 97:I enjoyed my stay here the staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable.

Review 98:Bad night for sleep as every 10 seconds a whirring noise happened. staff said it was from water pump in corridor. outside our room. we will not stay again unless guaranteed a room with no noise

Review 99:ease of parking, and good access. Nice room

Review 100:Very comfortable room with modern clean decor, tea & coffee facilities, WiFi and TV. The bath thub filled quickly and was very relaxing. We stayed in the hotel ahead of a sporting competition, it was nice and quiet with very comfortable beds. Would book again.

Review 101:Radiator was on all night so a but too warm.

Review 102:Staff where very helpful, room recently refurbished lots of tea bags and coffee in room, bathroom very nice. Very good value for money.

Review 103:The hotel sign was so bright we couldn't sleep all night and then we had no hot water in the morning at all. We told the receptionist before eating breakfast (which was not great, just a few cereals, jam and white toast with tea or coffee), and he said the boiler may not have been turned on, but it was not fixed before we left. The manager rang a few hours later to apologise, and said the sign was new as they have recently been doing renovations, but they will change it so it turns off at night.

Review 104:The rooms have been very nicely refurbished, comfy beds with great bathrooms, work desk, tea and coffee etc.

Review 105:Bathroom lacked a bin. Lighting in room was poor. No telephone. Constant electronic noise during the night. Breakfast was in a restaurant-cum-storeroom! Open cereal packet, had to ask for plate/bowl. Area looked distinctly down market.

Review 106:Good room, comfortable bed, good new en suite facilities.

Review 107:Nicely refurbished Hotel. Upon arrival, reception friendly and welcoming. Newly fitted carpets,T.v's,furniture, bedding and bathroom made this a great place stay at a competitive price. Convienent location close to town and easy to find. Would definitely come back.

Review 108:Heating on late into night but not in morning, when it was freezing! Windows did not keep out noise from road, so had terrible night's sleep.

Review 109:Comfy room and friendly staff

Review 110:There was no plug in the wash hand basin and little more light over the dressing table would have been helpful.

Review 111:The room was spacious, warm, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was freshly cooked and of good quality, the coffee was excellent. the staff helpful and attentive. Would definitely use the Ambassador Court Hotel again.

Review 112:Room a little tired - needs refurbishment Trying to get a small TV which was right up near the ceiling to work was difficult. Gives neck ache trying to watch it. Small room Shower water difficult to control hot/cold mix

Review 113:UMMMMM...... NO HOTEL SWIMMING POOL ,SAUNA, RESTURANT OR BAR, ;-)

Review 114:FRIENDLINESS OF STAFF, CLEANLINESS OF ROOMS UNDERGOING ROOM UPGRADE LOCATION FREE WIFI

Review 115:Unable to connect to wifi. No coffee in 1 room.

Review 116:We had booked a triple room but were offered 2 twin rooms at no extra cost. Room was quiet, able to check in early.

Review 117:Floodlights on outside all night. Room was in 'daylight' all night. Key had no room ID so had no idea which room I was in. No reception to help. Had to telephone for help.

Review 118:You could feel the springs in your back from the mattress as you slept. As it was just my sister and I staying there (23yo, 21yo), it was a bit nerve-wracking staying in a hotel that is known for hosting only builders and contractors that come to High Wycombe when they work out of London. As we were definitely the only girls there. Parking is fairly limited if you don't get there early, and getting in and out can nye on be impossible as it is on such a busy road.

Review 119:Basic room for what you were paying. Wifi in the room. Fresh towels. Good shower. Very close to town centre. Man at reception was very welcoming, offering to carry our bags up to our room for us.

Review 120:Well this might sound churlish, but I was disappointed that the hotel was under reconstruction when I arrived. This doesn't excuse the tab ends littering the entrance- I hate to see staff outside any front door smoking, nor do I like to see the debris. The shower unfortunately stopped showering mid shower (no doubt due to refurbishment). The wifi I couldn't connect to whatever combination of password I used. The clanking of the metal works out the back early morning. The fact breakfast wasn't included. The fact I wasn't aware it was under refurbishment at time of booking- Had it said this and a reduced price offered I'd have felt informed.

Review 121:I'm sure when this hotel is refurbished it will be a decent basic place to stay when in the area on business. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable, with enough stuff in there to make your stay comfortable. Tea coffee etc, decent number of sockets, adjacent en suite, clean fresh sheets and pillows, windows that opened- all good. The owners were very helpful and enthusiastic and I wish them every success with their efforts.

Review 122:Shower was very dirty and not usable, room was smelly and noisy from traffic. Although staff were polite they need better training to run a hotel

Review 123:Location

Review 124:Hotel undergoing refurbishment at time of stay which didn't help. If looking for a basic room close to Wycombe may be worth a stay but not worth going out of the way. Didn't stay for breakfast so can't comment on food.

Review 125:If we were being picky it would be the noise from the generator/fans from the building next door. The carpet in the bedroom looked rather tired too but clean.

Review 126:The hotel and staff gave us the freedom and bed we wanted when we were visiting our son who had just completed his course at the University. We appreciated a room at the back too away from the noise of the traffic. It was also very helpful to us that we were able to leave our car in the car park for an hour of so in the morning of the day of departure.

Review 127:Bathroom shabbily decorated paint peeling off on wall. Main electric light in room did not work faulty switch. Wi-Fi signal too poor to connect.

Review 128:Nice breakfast friendly staff
