Reviews for Premier Inn Dover - A20
Review 1:Very confortable bed nice and big room and very clean . we arrived much quicker before booking time but personel find something different in 5 minutes that was great
Review 2:The staff were great. Really nice and helpful and chatty. Room was nice and very clean and there was plenty of stuff to make enough tea to satisfy my high tea consumption.
Review 3:Usual excellent Premier Inn comfort and friendly staff. Beefeater pub was very good, good food and ambience. Beats the Channel Tunnel Premier Inn restaurant hands down. Will use this one every trip on Shuttle.
Review 4:No kettle in room = the room (number 1) was a specially adapted disabled unit. Not really for an able bodied person - as it was not busy would have been more sensible to put me in a standard room.
Review 5:Clean room and friendly staff as always
Review 6:Pricey breakfast supplement: GBP 5.99 for continental, GBP 8.99 for full English Pricey for its location: single room on 31st Dec GBP 59.50 pn on a motorway road.
Review 7:Clean, spacious rooms
Review 8:A night watchman came into our room by mistake through the night. This was sorted out with Premier Inn customer Services eventually
Review 9:The food at the Beefeater restaurant attached was amazing for the evening meal & breakfast
Review 10:Single beds were okay for small kids, mattresses would need to be same standard as the double for an Adult to sleep on it.
Review 11:Excellent Master bed. Good location.
Review 12:Didn't like the Beefeater restaurant next door. American type fare. Expensive and poor quality.
Review 13:Staff were friendly and helpful. Beds comfortable.
Review 14:The room was cold and the heater was controlled by a thermostat which was limited to 23 degrees but kept cutting off at well below that. We've had the same system in other Premier Inn hotels and they just don't work when it's cold.
Review 15:Good value for money and close to the port
Review 16:the bathroom was very small. The Beefeater Restaurant although not part on the Premier Inn was very poor and as it was the only eaterier nearby should provide a better service.
Review 17:the location and parking
Review 18:Very easy to use and get to when travelling from devon to France. Very comfy bed and good night's sleep! Pleasant staff in premier inn. Didn't think much of them in the harvester.
Review 19:We arrived at nearly one in the morning. Knackered, the young guy on the desk was helpful, smiley, chirpy and welcoming. The room was spotless, comfy and when we left at 5 in the morning, the young man was equally cheery, happy to give us directions to the ferry. Wish we could v stayed longer to enjoy the benefits. Wonderful
Review 20:DESPITE MAKING OUR BOOKING A LONG TIME AGO WE WERE GIVEN A DISABLED ROOM AND COULD NOT CHANGE IT .THIS MEANT A SMALLER BED.
Review 21:EASY CHECK IN GOOD PARKING
Review 22:having booked a breakfast disappointed to find breakfast times, particularly weekend, not compatible with ferry check in, staff very good letting us make sausage /bacon sandwich to take, but not the start to a long day we had hoped
Review 23:location for ferry
Review 24:For what get, you are much better off in France.
Review 25:we drove down from Berkshire on Britain very over crowded roads, It was awful!! to catch the ferry to France in the morning. Premier Inn is very expensive for what it is. Sir Lenny is costing them too much. Next time we will cross over and say in France.
Review 26:slightly expensive. Despite this, I was fortunate to have a cheaper deal having booked early.
Review 27:Ideal location surrounded the farm boundary away from the port activities. I also like the homely atmosphere within the compound.
Review 28:Room / building in general was very hot, no aircon. Restaurant & bathroom in restaurant were very dirty (tables, floor, bad smell)
Review 29:Great location - just a few minutes from the ferryport. Very good breakfast (Choice & quality). Tidy room.
Review 30:Facilities in general were 'tired' looking and in need of extensive renovation. The lack of air conditioning also meant the room was exceptionally warm in the evening/night making sleeping awkward.
Review 31:Location was good as was the good and friendly staff.
Review 32:Price a little steep for a functional pre-ferry stopover.
Review 33:The staff once again were polite friendly and helpful. This is one of the main reasons we return here. Convenient location. Clean and comfortable.
Review 34:The booking was wrong. It was booked for a family but on the system it was two adults. Breakfast was one adult.
Review 35:It was clean and the staff were happy to help
Review 36:Perfect for us as we stayed overnight before an early ferry. Easy to find, and near enough to Dover and the Port to be a very short trip in the morning, but far enough away not to be too mobbed. As always with Premier Inn, the room was well appointed, clean and felt fairly spacious despite the amount of beds we had! Were offered fans and lighter sheets if we got too hot.
Review 37:Had problems in booking in as your web site kept going down and then you couldn't take payment. After 1hr 45 minutes this was sorted out.
Review 38:The convenience to Dover Ferry Terminal
Review 39:Noisy door slamming during the hours of 0130hrs and 0230hrs same room made 16 door slamming. No hot water to showering in the morning. Staff in the restaurant were young and extremely negative, they did not want to be there!!
Review 40:It was 5 minutes from the docks.
Review 41:Room was a bit warm but there was a fan if we needed it.
Review 42:Location perfect for the ferry or tunnel, in a nice quite spot. Room lovely and clean and comfortable, staff were really helpful,
Review 43:Disappointing that there are no bigger rooms available for larger families. Big extra cost
Review 44:Very good well equipped room however we are a family of 5 and there are no rooms big enough to accommodate us therefore we had to pay for 2 rooms. This meant extra cost to our holiday and splitting up the family. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very good. Good clean rooms and comfortable bed. Close to Dover which was good for our early morning ferry crossing.
Review 45:Not a bad experience but having used this hotel on more than one occasion, we always find it a bit uncomfortable if it is a warm evening, the only form of cooling is a noisy fan, so the choice is, noise or sticky heat.........
Review 46:Close to the ferry (10 minutes)
Review 47:Noise from car park / had to keep window open as aircon couldn't cope with the warm night
Review 48:Usual Premier Inn standard. Lovely staff. Convenient for Channel Tunnel .
Review 49:A bit noisy. Could do with sound proofing. Beefeater could do with a lick of paint.
Review 50:Easy to find - good location to visit Dover and surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 51:thought too expensive, will stay over on French side next time for more value for money and no pets allowed
Review 52:Clean and comfortable with great location for ferry
Review 53:Breakfast was slow in arriving. We had a problem with the truckle bed but it was changed and resolved amicably. When you have four people in the room more tea/coffee etc should be provided e.g. if you give the children a bedtime drink there is not enough for a morning drink.
Review 54:The staff are very good and helpful the location was very good for touring that area of Kent.
Review 55:The Beefeater restaurant and food was okay but a little pricey for the portion sizes.
Review 56:Quiet location and a good nights sleep yet still only minutes from the port of Dover. Good parking. Would definitely stay again.
Review 57:Breakfast cost had to be refunded. No orange juice no coffee and poorselection of food. Only one member of staff cleaning tables serving foodand seating guests poor bloke was in a state trying to do fourpeople's jobs. The place was a disaster and the hotel was fullybooked so they knew they needed more staff sort it out I will not stayin a Premier Inn again
Review 58:It was a place to sleep
Review 59:Problem with bookings.com website causing a reservation at the Premier Inn for a triple room for a single person. Had to negotiate an additional breakfast in the price for my husband. Also, the man on reception did not accept the price I showed him on your booking confirmation - said I had to pay more which was totally unsatisfactory.
Review 60:Convenient to ferry port Clean & comfortable
Review 61:Beefeater menu - as a celiac sufferer I needed gluten free menu. This was provided in the form of spread sheets, tiny print and not user friendly.
Review 62:Easy access and close to ferry port with dining facilities next door. Fairly quiet for good nights sleep.
Review 63:Room was hot, although fan provided too noisy to sleep with had to sleep on top of covers. Door banging in corridor as people came in or left.
Review 64:staff helpful and pleasant. Restaurant good basic food with pleasant staff.
Review 65:I was given a room for disable people. Nothing against but I was expecting a bit more for my birthday weekend. The bed was too small for me and my partner. A week ago I had stayed in another hotel from the same group and was a amazing experience that's why I thought I wouldn't have doubt when booking with you. But not sure if will happen again. So sorry.
Review 66:Pub next door isn't the best missed breakfast on Saturday morning because the cleaners had lost keys aparantly food wasn't great either
Review 67:Really friendly staff and nice and spacious room comfy bed clean room
Review 68:Unable to locate the hotel easily. The postcode directed us into the entrance to the tunnel which is one way and difficult to get out of. Found it expensive at almost £100 per night.
Review 69:Clean, comfortable room. Friendly, helpful staff. All you can eat breakfast.
Review 70:Check-in abysmal, took 15 minutes to get computer working, everything about hotel is shabby, 'associated' restaurant next door was even shabbier!
Review 71:Nothing
Review 72:the dining room was busy and it looked like only 1 lady was there. more staff needed on a half term sat am due to increase travelling
Review 73:comfortable and staff were lovely to the kids
Review 74:Problems checking in, computer wasn't working and staff didn't know how to deal with it. 7 hour journey and half an hour to check in.
Review 75:Rooms clean and nice
Review 76:None really they were a bit slow with the drinks at our dinner but the waitress was very apologetic and rectified the situation very quickly
Review 77:The breakfast was fantastic. It was cooked to order and hot unlike the self service type where the food is lukewarm.
Review 78:We didn't like having to go outside to the restaurant ,it was very windy when we where there and thank goodness it wasn't raining
Review 79:The staff were very friendly and helpful
Review 80:I had a lady on reception lecture me on the fact my booking was incorrect. I searched for 3 rooms, for 2 adults and 1 child for two of them and then 1 room for 2 adults and 2 children. She said we had only booked each room for 1 adult and 1 child and said the rooms were not ready due to this. She said it is a fault on booking.com. I didn't appreciate being lectured about beds not being made and she was too busy!!
Review 81:Due to our ferry departure time 08:25, we were unable to have breakfast as it did not open early enough, 07:00 on a weekend. this was very disappointing as we were still charged
Review 82:The evening meal was great, good friendly service
Review 83:Thin walls neighbour noise. I appreciate good night guaranteed but not worth getting up & dressed for.
Review 84:Staff at reception & breakfast were friendly. Breakfast served rather than buffet.
Review 85:Isolated from the town and tiny bathroom!
Review 86:Great location for Dover, Chanel tunnel etc, easy to get to from the motorway. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, wifi that works.
Review 87:A greater section of non fried food.the mergers were Luke warm
Review 88:Easy access to the rooms together with the new security system on the building access doors
Review 89:no complaints
Review 90:Quiet location but near to town Of Dover for ferry crossing to France. Excellent for staff, comfort, and good breakfast. Reasonable evening meal on adjacent steakhouse
Review 91:Hotel located was quiet, so no disturbance from passing traffic. Rooms were clean with comfy beds. Our evening meal and breakfast were great, food served hot and cooked to our liking.
Review 92:we had asked for two disabled rooms but told beds low and would be sorted when we got there. My husband is disabled I had to get him up 15 stairs then carry our bags up A three person room only one chair told they didnt have any more
Review 93:Staff good
Review 94:Great location for using the tunnel and offers great value for money, Very clean room, and very comfortable bed. Friendly reception staff - absolutely nothing to complain about for the price. Breakfast was included, as was free WIFI,
Review 95:Disappointed with poorly trained and managed staff in restaurant and bar in the evening with the exception of my waitress who excelled. Breakfast first class in content and service.
Review 96:Comfortable, clean and quiet
Review 97:Bathroom drainage in first room back flowing into shower and loo did not flush properly. second room offered absolutely fine.
Review 98:Nice restaurant close to hand at reasonable prices
Review 99:Couldn't actually fault it at all.
Review 100:Friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, excellent restaurant for breakfast & dinner, tea & coffee making facilities in your room
Review 101:Notwithstanding the size of the room, our room easily accomodated two adults and two children. The room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The price for accomodations and breakfast was superb and cannot be beaten!
Review 102:Would definitely recommend this premier inn, had a very pleasant comfortable stay and within very good distance of the euro tunnel which is where we were heading the next day. Very good value for money. Also had breakfast which catered for adults and children.
Review 103:Bathroom -- very "narrow" for toilet use - have to close door !! Although on a main road - I found the place Difficult to locate in the night - not sign-posted or well lit up
Review 104:Comfort, Location and Quietness
Review 105:Being woken up at 7:30am by a delivery truck unloading beer barrels at the pub next door to the Premier Inn. As the checkout wasn't until 12 noon I was really upset that my sleep had been broken before it was even light.
Review 106:The helpfulness of staff Cleanliness of room
Review 107:Could not even get in the restaurant next door due to Christmas party's. Understand it is the time of the year, but after a long journey we did not want to get in our car again to get some food.
Review 108:Very quiet & the staff were extremely helpful.
Review 109:That you had to pay for wifi
Review 110:The staff were very nice and helpful that to me is probably the most important thing . I also went to get a little fresh milk for my tea from the restaurant and the member of staff who was behind the bar happilly gave me some.
Review 111:I liked the peace and quiet the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the helpfull friendly staff who made you feel welcome the minute you entered the hotel
Review 112:Fantastic to have a shower curtain on a curved rail - there was no problem of a cold, wet curtain sticking to me as I had my morning shower after a comfortable, cosy night's sleep!
Review 113:Just an overnight brief stop prior to early ferry but lovely and quiet and just the job! They even kindly kept some personal belongings they had found until we could pick up as we passed by on return journey! So thank you!
Review 114:A bit difficult to find.d on my own n the dark and in the middle of a thunderstorm.
Review 115:Staff were very charming.v and helpful. Bed was amazing Excellent breakfast
Review 116:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 117:We are grandparents and brought our two grandchildren with us for a short break during half term. We all enjoy the simple pleasures: walking, messing about on beaches and eating. Opportunities for these pleasures are many in this area. We were blessed with wonderful weather so did not have to resort to my list of things to do if it rained. The food offered in The Plough (next door) was excellent and we enjoyed the breakfasts especially. The situation of the Premier Inn is very convenient for both Folkestone and Dover even though it is off the beaten track. The staff were friendly and helpful and even entered into the spirit of Halloween. We all had a lovely time. Thank you.
Review 118:At night the sound of traffic was annoying. It sounded like a plane taking off.
Review 119:What we got for our money was excellent value and we could find nothing about the facilities to complain about. We enjoyed our stay.
Review 120:Only the truly British lashing rain!
Review 121:The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Their training and attitude were excellent and my wife and I have not come across better in 5* hotels. In fact the staff contributed more than any other of the excellent aspects of our stay at this truly "Premier" Inn.
Review 122:It would have been nice to have a door or a curtain on the wardrobe.
Review 123:Tthe recepton staff were friendly and efficient.Car parking easy.Room quiet and comfortable though not luxurious. Breakfast a welcome change after weeks in France and very nicely served.
Review 124:The duvet was winter weight and far too hot (and heavy) for the time of year. Even in winter however, with heating on, it would be far too hot for most peoples' comfort and certainly for my own and my husband's. I suggest a summer weight duvet of around 4 - 6 togs, with an optional blanket to add if required. After all, it's easier to add warmth than to take it away.
Review 125:All fine, except: - see minus comment. (Bed v. comfortable, good quality sheets/duvet covers.)
Review 126:asked for quiet room but given one on ground floor and woken by guest above walking around at 6 am - so quiet rooms clearly only on first floor... otherwise ..no herbal tea choice in room breakfast very expensive
Review 127:location near dover ferry, clean room, comfortable bed, window could be opened
Review 128:The beds are too high anyone with probs would have difficulty getting on the bed. And the bathroom was too small my wife and I had difficulty getting in and out of the shower if the other person was in the bathroom as well.
Review 129:Closeness to boat
Review 130:from when we checked in the staff member was very helpful, and informative of places to eat.we had been travelling a long time and was very happy with the rooms and location of the hotel i would deiinatley reccomend this hotel as a stay over for the ferry port we travelled on to disney france the next day. breakfast was available from 06.30 we had no complaints.
Review 131:The restaurant was a bit limited on menu but as it is on the same site as the hotel, it was very convenient
Review 132:Staff were efficient and friendly. Location is excellent for access to early morning ferry to France. Rooms are comfortable and facilities are good. Check in and out very efficient. The weather was very hot and a large fan was thoughtfully provided in the room
Review 133:Beds very firm. Toilet slow to flush but still worked ok Very warm in room. No Shampoo or Conditioner provided.
Review 134:Beefeaters restaurant was next door. Great dining and fantastic staff. Room was clean and bathroom a good size. Less than a 10 minute drive to the white cliffs and Dover Castle. Appreciated the top sheet being left folded in the room. English and European inns and hotels only provide the bottom sheet with a doona which makes it very uncomfortable on a warm night. Thanks Premier for the sheet in accomodating your Australian and North Americans guests who use a top sheet.
