Reviews for Hôtel Le D'Avaugour

Review 1:Rooms and bathrooms dated and bit shabby - expensive for what it is. Pet friendly at a price - 16 euros per night!

Review 2:Wonderful garden atop ancient city walls. Clean and comfortable.

Review 3:they arranged the taxi that already had 67 euros on the meter when we got into it and ended up costing over 100 euros for a 20 min trip they only had one type of red wine and it was undrinkable (and I'll drink anything)

Review 4:breakfast was good, garden outside was nice and staff were lovely. the star wars bar next door was lovely

Review 5:Room was a little small.

Review 6:Manager very kindly made sure that we were aware of parking limitations on market day. Nice room overlooking a garden, pity it was too cool to use. Great location.

Review 7:Road facing room was very noisy. Rooms were warm so needed to sleep with the window open, and traffic kept us awake throughout the night.

Review 8:Overall a comfortable stay. Friendly staff, and relaxed breakfast setting. Attractive garden at rear.

Review 9:Lack of air conditioning in bedroom. We were on the street side whichwas very very noisy with passing traffic if you opened the window, whichwas necessary because it was so hot. We were offered a garden room for35euros per night more which is a bit excessive. The hotel was not verybusy so if they had charged both couples 10 euros per night for therooms overlooking the garden they would have made 80 euros! 35Eurosextra per night way too much. Also a bit stingy with soap etc. one smallbar for two people over five days.

Review 10:Dining area excellent as was the bar. Nice lounge to relax in and it isvery light and airy. Beds were comfortable and room size was okay. Thegarden was beautiful with lots of nice places to sit and relax.

Review 11:That we couldn't stay longer!

Review 14:The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. It felt like your home for your stay.

Review 15:Location, friendly and efficient staff and management, space and cleaniness.

Review 16:Poor breakfast buffet for hotel charging so much for room

Review 17:Drinks in garden in evening; view from room

Review 18:Everything

Review 19:No air con

Review 20:Almost everything was delightful, see below

Review 21:A relaxed atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and a fair size. Breakfasts are ample with a good selection.

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:Location quality great staff breakfast

Review 24:Room needed updating and was damp

Review 25:Location

Review 26:A very comfortable hotel with a delightful garden in an excellent location and with very helpful and friendly staff. Parking was very close in a large square opposite the hotel and a very modest cost.

Review 27:Located in the heart of the medieval city of Dinan, this hotel is nevertheless very modern and designed beautifully for comfort and aesthetic enjoyment. We had a room on the garden side, which was very quiet. The staff was attentive and extremely helpful without exception. We did not expect such a warm, gracious welcome in the midst of a city that is so popular with tourists; the Hotel Le D'Avaugour met and exceeded all expectations.

Review 28:Very outdated rooms, we smelled smoke on our floor so it must not be a non-smoking establishment. I didn't find the room to be particularly clean. Not worth it for the price.

Review 29:Location was good

Review 30:This is a top hotel. The proprietor and staff were first rate and quietly attentive. The rooms facing the garden are to be preferred since they are very quiet. Spacious and stylish at the same time. The garden is like an old English rose garden with lots of places to sit in the sun undisturbed. Great breakfasts. 10/10.

Review 31:The female staff member was only concerned about herself, was not available for some time at checkin, did not ask if we wished certain items at breakfast.

Review 32:Male staff person was excellent and very helpful. He was compassionate when my spouse was not feeling well one day.

Review 33:Not a lot; no hotel parking but plenty of local partking

Review 34:Excellent location inside ramparts of Dinan; hospitable staff; comfortable rooms; great views from garden terrace

Review 35:We were in a street view room and with no air conditioning provided, we had to have the windows open all night. Did not sleep due to constant traffic noise throughout the night. However, staff kindly provided an electric fan for us to use for the remainder of our stay which enable us to have the windows closed. This was at end of September when temperatures were around 15 degrees. Not sure we would have coped in height of summer if temperatures hit 30 degrees though!

Review 36:Central location and access to shops, restaurants, cafes etc.

Review 37:The beautiful gardens overlooking the ramparts are quite exceptional and worth the visit on their own. The owner and his staff were always helpful, friendly and obliging we look forward to staying here again.

Review 38:No dislikes

Review 39:Comfortable clean and very friendly. It had a pleasant relaxed atmosphere and the small terrace out the rear of the hotel made very pleasant end to a long day of walking round Dinan.

Review 40:Cant think of anything. It was a lovely place to stay.

Review 41:Delightful, old-fashioned hotel centrally placed and with a beautiful garden. The lift is tiny - don't try to get two people and suitcases in! - but the rooms were charming with terrific bathrooms. No air con, but a fan was provided.

Review 42:Our rooms were overlooking the main road which was very noisy at night. We had to close the windows and use the fans in the room due to theunanticipated hot weather which was not ideal .The garden rooms areapparently quieter which we would consider on any future visit. Weclocked up quite a few hours and euros in the paying car park oppositeas the hotel does not have a car park .There were lots of eating placesaround which we had to take advantage of , due to the absence of arestaurant in the hotel .We would have liked tea and coffee facilitiesin the rooms themselves

Review 43:Dinan is a lovely place to visit .The hotel was very quiet during ourstay ,the staff were really friendly and reception area and roomsappeared to have been recently upgraded .The gardens were lovely and wewere able to enjoy them in the evening . Continental breakfast wasincluded in our stay and was good value .

Review 44:Wouldn't change a thing, totally great experience. Wish we would have stayed another night.

Review 52:Convenient for golf courses in the area

Review 53:Comfortable bed and spacious bathroom
