Reviews for Park Hall Express

Review 1:The old Camelot park is a bit of an eye sore. But better that than a housing estate. A leisure park and Caravan site would be ideal. I can't believe Clubs hasn't seen the potential.

Review 2:If you like Spa type things then this place is excellent. Staff were without exception perfect.

Review 3:The accommodation is in double cabins which was not explained on the website. The outside door did not shut as the door was warped so could not be locked. As a single female traveller I was placed in a cabin far away from the reception and had to walk through dark pathways to even get to the car park. There was no food on site and the place for food was a local hotel which was a drive away or a very long walk through an industrial estate. This is not a place for a woman travelling alone. When I mentioned this to staff they were not really bothered.

Review 4:IT was clean and warm

Review 5:Booked park hall express. The room was very basic and very dated.-toilet had remainders of the previous guests- did not flush properly.we were given a number to phone maintenance but could not get through. Would stay there again but pay the extra for a refurbished village room or stay in the hotel. The bar reception at the main hotel were extremely helpful especially the night reception guy DALE.

Review 6:Booked massages and facials for 2 through Groupon. Really enjoyed them the staff were very professional and knew what they were doing.

Review 7:The rooms were poorly cleaned and the complimentary water and biscuits were not replenished daily.

Review 8:The staff were very polite and friendly and the hotel facilities were good the food in the restaurant was lovely although a tad expensive.

Review 9:The room needed a good clean and renovation. The bed was very uncomfortable and the bathroom window didn't lock properly so was draughty. Was by far the worst room I've ever stayed in.

Review 10:There wasn't really anything to like.

Review 11:The card machine didn't work when we wanted to pay for the room and the staff was quite rude to us about it. Then the key card didn't work when we got to our room and we went back to reception and again the staff was rude suggesting that was also our fault.. Other than that the room was very clean and comfortable and great for small groups or family's the rooms in the express was a good size

Review 12:I got woken up by the inconsiderate ghost in my room who decided it was a good idea to watch thunder birds at 7 am on full volume, oh the electric shower did not work properly so I freezed my bits off attempting to have a shower in the morning

Review 13:I was expecting nothing more than a shed for the price but I was pleasantly surprised rooms were spacious and clean, location was great as it was literally a few minutes walk to the park hall hotel where I had my works Xmas do. Staff were friendly.

Review 14:i had to walk right the other side of complex and im not good on my legs there wasnt a glass in the room for water to take my tablets plus in the morning i had to walk in the rain to the otherside of the complex for my breakfast not good

Review 15:it was clean and friendly

Review 16:Access was not clear, the car parking area is something of a health and safety nightmare, but this is beyond the hotel's control. Rather dated, but still great value

Review 17:Clean, simple, value for money. Paid far more for worse. A nice, warm room, and I always appreciate a bath as well as shower. The pool and hot tub are an unexpected luxury in this price range

Review 18:The car par surfaces needed to be improved, marked out and the lighting was poor.Signage was confusing in the village /Park Hall Express area.

Review 19:The quirkiness of the place, the value for money and overall friendliness of the staff.

Review 20:The car parks could do with more lightening and signs ... Drove around a few times hard to find the leisure & reception ..... Several cars parks The village inn pub did not open when they said !

Review 21:Working away good value Would stay there again

Review 22:Very difficult and confusing to find the complex as it is behind the main Hotel. Very badly signed for night time arrival .

Review 23:Lovely "greek" village feel to the complex. The room was clean, with great finishing touches eg iron and ironing board;hairdryer.

Review 24:Ignorance of special requests for disabilities. Mould growing on all windows and request for cleaning agreed came back to find mould all still present and leaking toilet and refusal to deal with customer difficulties and advised to wait till after left hotel and go home....as manager not there.... I think that says it all.

Review 25:The thought before I went.......

Review 26:Not particularly attractive from the outside, stain on the duvet cover of the double bed and leak in the bathroom

Review 27:Large spacious lounge with two comfy sofas and bath and shower in the room. Use of all leisure facilities and hotel facilities.

Review 28:It was shabby and in desperate need of some up-dating. It was also difficult to find and the car park was nowhere near the accommodation

Review 29:It was clean and the restaurant was really good

Review 30:The lack of lighting in the car park, the poor state of the car park, the general feeling of neglect and the immense feeling of insecurity which both my wife and I felt.

Review 31:Room was clean and wifi was good.

Review 32:booked a double bed, and got 2 singles, which was not a real problem. as they did give me a room with separate sitting room with a pull out double settee bed.

Review 33:helpful polite staff, late check in was not a problem. excellent value for money. surroundings well kept.

Review 34:I was given a room that was not clean, someone had slept in it. Used cups of teas on table. I was surprised and when I called the desk to tell them, they only said oh sorry someone will come and take you to a different room. I waited 20mins for this to happen ☹

Review 35:Space

Review 36:bad signage from the main road. Was behind the main 'posh' Park Hall Hotel. Access road round the back was full of pot holes and badly lit. Pavement was uneven to the rooms. Bathroom was clean but needs updating and found the silicone around sections was peeling off or 'dirty' as well as flooring not sealed. Ceiling was dirty with water marks from flooding and broken in places. Some reception staff were abrupt and rude. Woken at 7am by cleaning staff then other guests.

Review 37:the cost of stay

Review 38:Room smelt. Grim and tatty room. Couldn't stay .

Review 39:Girl in reception was lovely.sadly that's the only thing I could say that's pleasant about here

Review 40:I booked three double bedrooms; the bedroom my husband and I had was comfortable clean and fairly roomy. However, the two other rooms which I had booked for my adult daughters had problems: one was quite cramped for two adults, the other had rain coming through the roof and dripping on the bed and, in addition, a male member of staff walked in without knocking while one of my daughters was in her underwear! True, they were given a free breakfast as compensation but it was unsatisfactory.

Review 41:I liked the price and thought it very good value had all the rooms I booked been as good as mine but two out of three were not as satisfactory which does leave a bad impression.

Review 42:It was filthy, smelled of stale cigarette smoke paper thin walls next door may as well have been in our room . Its a poor mans butlins and even though its classed as a budget hotel it should still have standards and be clean.

Review 43:Nothing..we stayed for approx 10 min then the smell of the room was too much

Review 44:Non smoking room stank of smoke, very very basic, garden view wasuntrue just a passage between buildings. There is no mention thatthere are "two" hotels on the same site with very similarnames do not stay

Review 45:Nothing

Review 46:Shower was appalling to get any warm water not even hot you had to restrict the flow to the point it felt like someone spitting on my head

Review 47:Liked the setting and the room

Review 48:COLD bathroom and insipid shower..and a bit of a trek to find my room - 'just follow the path' didn't cover it !! Good job it wasn't dark.. ;-)

Review 49:Value for money, good facilities and comfortable bed.. I'd stay here again.

Review 50:Stayed in the resort village as we had our dog with us. Great to have a separate lounge area. Leisure facilities great, lovely pools with jacuzzi etc.Although it was all a bit basic, it was clean and comfortable......bargain at £45

Review 51:Smell of stale smoke in our non -smoking room.

Review 52:Great value for money. Comfortable and really welcoming staff who went well beyond the call of duty to help. Wifi worked a treat.

Review 53:Reception not really helpful, didn't have booking, room was very basic, wall heaters didn't work, bed was awful, springs dead....bathroom was dated and a bit shabby

Review 54:Breakfast was nice and car parking was free, nice location

Review 55:We took this place on the understanding it was part of Best Western. Big mistake, it isn't! The rooms are part of a tired holiday chalet complex. You can hear every cough, snore and other bodily functions of neighbours through the paper thin walls. Bathroom door wouldn't close, tiles were cracked and damaged. Altogether bad, sad experience.

Review 56:staff are all very pleasant and helpful, i love the spa and gym,the food we had was fab, treated ourselves to room service, this a favourite little r and r break.

Review 57:Bed in first unit had a broken base - this would easily have been seen by staff making up the bed. Room smelt a bit. However, room we were shifted to was good.

Review 58:Large unit with separate bedroom. Pleasant outlook. Helpful staff organised another room when broken bed identified.

Review 59:Location was hard to find, sat nav was useless for it. Too much noise from the m6. Too far from anything else. Staff do not answer the phone.

Review 60:Bed was comfortable

Review 61:dismal room decor (maroon and gold y u k .) outdated bathroom ( green) , poor bathroom lighting ..

Review 62:roomy accommodation and comfortable beds ,tea / coffee. lounge .

Review 63:The 1st room the sofa bed broke, the deco was dated & wallpaper was peeling. Beds in the 2nd room we were given after we complained were really uncomfortable again the rooms deco was dated. I would not recommend this hotel, spend a bit more money & get a better hotel.

Review 64:The location of the hotel was a few miles from our destination

Review 65:To find this place if very confusing if you are using a Sat Nav system. There is no real direction of the motorway.

Review 66:Quirky location my teenage family loved the fact they were staying next door to a unused amusement park. Camelot.

Review 67:Outdsted decor

Review 68:The room allocated was not clean so moved rooms which was better and closerto reception. The rooms needed updated but adequate for a stop over. The staff were very helpful and the food reasonably priced and tasty.

Review 69:bed was absolutoely awful it felt like i was going to break it had to sleep on pillows as the mattress was so bad. would not recommend express and the water was cold in the shower and it was not very clean. ok for a cheap overnight not the best.

Review 70:price location

Review 71:The room was very run down. Wi fi didn't work. Bed was uncomfortable

Review 72:Staff were lovely. Although everything was run down the facilities we're good

Review 73:It was very similar to spending the night at a very poor holiday camp - check in at the leisure centre! very noisy neighbours and nothing "on-site" (it obviously has been a holiday camp in a previous life). Very difficult to find - eventually had to drive up a "no entry" road from the motorway service station! More "Lo-de-lo" than "Hi-de-hi"!

Review 74:The main hotel had all the facilities, ie, restaurant and bar, but conference venue prices! Good weather, so didn't get wet walking to it.

Review 75:The rooms were quiet, spacious, motel-style. Well away from any road, relaxing. Staff very friendly. Flat for 3 adult children and dog was excellent, and good value.

Review 76:Flooded bathroom in middle of night after reporting it early morning came back after day out still flooded. Not good floor was stained when we arrived so this had obviously happened previously. The manager moved us into another room not nice when everything to move and my mam is 83.

Review 77:Location a bath and gym facilities

Review 78:Very long way round via a Car park full of pot holes, £14.95 for breakfast ( SERIOUSLY ), very poor WiFi connection, no hand towel or bath mat, very basic indeed since it was changed from the village complex and managed via the main hotel. It's clearly evident it doesn't suit the leisure club members booking in at the same reception as received a dirty look from one as I was booking in so prepare for that as reception is in the leisure suite

Review 79:Ability to have a bath with

Review 80:As a disables guest I found the terrain very difficullt and a long way from the car park which was also very uneven I have a scooter which was unsuitable for the terrain and my husband who has a heart condition found difficulty pushing me around.

Review 81:The kindness and helpfulness of staff ar all times.

Review 82:Our whole room was disgusting, It was very unclean and made me feel dirty. I couldn't wait to leave. Examples of poor cleanliness include chewing gum left on the bedside table from previous people, dirty marks on the wall/door (marks that could easily be cleaned off with water), towel was marked and stained (if the rest of the place was clean this wouldn't have bothered me however when the rest of the place is dirty, you question it!). The bath/shower was coming away from the tiles/grout and every time you moved in the shower you could see the large cracks. The toilet leaked water onto the floor every time you sat on it. All maintenance work was done cheaply and not effectively. I would never stay here again or ever recommend it.

Review 83:The wifi and the car parking.

Review 84:Difficult to find entrance to hotel and correct car parking area/motel check in.

Review 85:comfy bed, free wi-fi and great breakfast. Also plenty of hot water. surroundings pleasant.

Review 86:the only thing i find is its a long way from the entrance to the grounds you have to drive round the car parks to get to the hotel.

Review 87:the leisure factilities are great, its included in the price of the room and you get the use of a towel. great place to stay.

Review 88:Not properly guided as to breakfast which was advertised as "optional". We were refused refund even though we could not have refund. No discussion to meet us half way having paid £60 for 6 people.

Review 89:The rooms were spacious and clean.

Review 90:My only criticism is the very dated and tired décor on the room and no bath mat to step out on to. The parking is plentiful but not a very inviting first impression.

Review 91:Good value and all the extras provided i.e iron, ironing board, fan heater were an unexpected bonus. Lovely soft towels and a heated towel rail.Very clean.

Review 92:Complex was easy to find but this is not part of main hotel and is buried around the back accessed from a run down road, reception is then not signed and is in a health club and signage out to individual rooms in multiple courtyards is non existent. Some of the room fixtures are dated and bathroom looked tired.

Review 93:When you got to the room ITT seemed generally clean and OK for a short stay. With good bed.

Review 94:Was placed in room 60a were there was a constant mechanical droning noise all night. £14.95 for breakfast? Last time and other times we stayed £10.... Not value for money and the most expensive price I've ever been quoted anywhere I've stayed. If I stayed with my partner and two daughters it would be neigh on £60 for breakfast, which is not even self service.

Review 95:The fact I'm able to have a hot bath is a bonus here.

Review 96:The complex looked like it had seen better days broken paving leading upto the room. When we got in the room although spacious looked like the owners have stopped caring the room smelt stale and needed a good clean. The toilet didn't work and the bathroom was grotty.

Review 97:It was very cheap and there was plenty of space.

Review 98:Customer service was not up to standard which what we expected Not enough eye contact and attention to our questions during check - in Although we were down for breakfast in plenty of time the choice of drink, Pastries and cereal was limited, Cutlery had to be changed 3 times as it was not clean .

Review 99:Location , Setting.

Review 100:The cheapest rooms are not worth the money

Review 101:Paying an extra £10 is well worth it to upgrade to a better room The room was comfortable and spacious The spa facilities were great

Review 102:Looked dated and run down.

Review 103:Good location. Although nothing compared to its more expensive sister, best western at these location. Very nice restaurant/ lounge there with good fish and chips. Not cheap food though. I didn't try the breakfast.

Review 104:When asked in reception for information about breakfast and facilities lady in reception seemed bothered to answer and stated it is in leaflets I have received. Family of 4 had only 2 towels. Kids access to swimming pool limited.

Review 105:Nice location, lovely breakfast.

Review 106:Very dated. Not inviting. Bathroom smelled and showed a positive need of updating. Avocado suite says it all.

Review 107:When I requested a mattress with some life in it the staff found one for me. Linen was clean and towels inviting. Housekeeper Francesca was excellent as were the lady and young man in the leisure suite on Friday afternoon.

Review 108:nothing

Review 109:the leisure factilies nice size swimmming pool and also nice size splash pool with small hot tub for everyone. then the sauna and stream room and large hot tub just for people over 16 years old. Our room was nice clean and near the swimming pool as we had reqested. very nice hotel. this is our 2nd trip here and we like this very much and will be coming again as we feel it is very good value for money.

Review 110:Breakfast was the worse experience we have had in any hotel we stayed in. Hygiene wasn't even thought of bowls, cups and coffee pot extremely dirty. We had to ask the staff to replenish the hot bar. Table not cleared after guest had left Very Poor

Review 111:Convenient over night stop.

Review 112:Quite noisy, very thin walls. Rooms a little dated. Locked gate during the night from the other hotel.

Review 113:Cute little chalets and away from motorway noise. Comfortable bed.

Review 114:General cleanliness. It needs a total makeover from top to bottom. Doors and windows were broke and the management were aware however did nothing. When our rooms were allocated me and two friends walked into a room where we was told to go and woke up a young family.

Review 115:Staff were helpful and almost embarrassed of the quality of rooms

Review 116:Tricky to find off the highway - maybe slightly more complex directions could be sent? Luckily I had SatNav!

Review 117:Friendliness of the staff, side of room, the fact it was warm when I got there.

Review 118:We went to the bar and could not get a drink although two staff members were sat together we presumed on a break they were wearing the hotel name badge they completely ignored us

Review 119:the leisure centre it was very good. large pool for a length swim. we went in the walk inpool which was very nice, the sauna and stream room and the hot tubs were bril.

Review 120:we didnt sleep much the first night as the mattress wasnt good sagged in the middle and the springs were just about throu...my partner said next morning and we got another room no problem which was much better...it was a shame as i was tiered for my shopping trip and we both had soar backs...we still had a good week end.

Review 121:the grounds....the little shalleys we stayed in.....the swimming pool the gym...breakfast....it was very clean outside and in.....the staff were very helpfull.

Review 122:Problem with the ceiling in the first room. Subsequently changed room and the bathroom door would not close properly. Then the TV alarm had not been turned off and so woke us up at 6am on a Sunday.

Review 123:Good facilities

Review 124:Didn't get the use of the Wifi (too far away I think) Bed was too soft so we couldn't get comfortable and kept rolling into the middle where the mattress dipped.

Review 125:The staff were very friendly and helpful. Considering the price I wasn't expecting the Ritz but good for a one night stay. The bathtub is lovely!

Review 126:Poor welcome staff unfriendly and need to learn to smile. First room cleanliness unacceptable and light fittings hanging out of ceiling so had to ask for a move. Cobwebs in top corners of rooms . car park and drive in bad state of repair.

Review 127:Good location,comfy bed

Review 128:Room was decrepid, dirty, falling apart, the door had been forced and the frame was coming away from the wall. Tiles hanging off in bathroom. Sofa broken.

Review 129:The fact we could get a family room which allowed us to bring our dog too.

Review 130:Having the smell of dog as you open the door and frequent barking next door

Review 131:Excellent pool sauna steam room facilities with excellent changing and shower facilities

Review 132:Room wasn't very clean, stained ceiling tiles and cobwebs. Lumpy, uncomfortable bed WiFi unusable due to poor signal Be careful with SatNav directions, don't use the postcode it will take you to the Motorway services Very rowdy neighbours

Review 133:Staff we very attentive at the main reception on booking in. Cheap room to lay your head

Review 134:Didn't realise I had booked into the Park Hall Express so had to use the leisure club reception. Misleading to say the least as the rest of my group were in the "main" hotel, even tho all rooms are chalets in the same grounds. Their rooms were nice, mine was horrible. We also payed the same price. My room must have been next to the swimming pool outlet vent, as it stank horrible of chemicals. The room had not been cleaned properly, there was sugar spilt on the vanity. There were dead flies and a dead spider in the bathroom light. The decor was very nasty indeed. Had I not been with a group and didn't want to make a fuss, I would have left immediately. Maybe that's why they insist on payment upfront.?

Review 135:Free wifi.

Review 136:Was disturbed by a drunk couple fighting in the next door room at 2 am in the morning which isn't pleasant when travelling with children. The shower was broken and the whole place could do with a refurb

Review 137:The leisure facilities were really good and is a good location for going to the local beaches like Lytham st Anne's.

Review 138:Bar too crowded to get bar snack/drink because of event.

Review 139:Facilities available

Review 140:Needs a little updating on decoration.

Review 141:Brilliant for one night at a price which offered separate rooms within one booking

Review 142:Sometimes quite a walk to our room

Review 143:The rooms are excellent value for money
