Reviews for Hôtel Wilson - Châteaux et Hôtels Collection

Review 1:All good except boiled egg machine in dining room would not boil!

Review 2:Warm welcome, comfortable rooms and refurbished bathrooms. Quiet view over secure parking in courtyard. Restaurant was closed but they recommended excellent one a delightful 10 mins walk through the old town. Good breakfast.

Review 3:Hotel Wilson was a truly remarkable experience for us in this beautiful town. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms were clean and well equipped.

Review 4:I was disappointed that the wifi was not working at all and staff seemed to not really care. If I book a place that advertises free wi fi I expect it to work. Due to the bad internet service I missed an opportunity to meet up with an old friend.

Review 5:The staff were friendly, good location and nice breakfast. Secure parking was great!!

Review 6:Common areas could do with a clean up. Street noise was quite noisy at night, peple shouting, kicking over bins. TV reception poor sations kept falling out.

Review 7:Friendly,helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Location while a little out was within easy walking distance of the main centre

Review 8:Weak wifi signal in our room meant we had to sit in the lobby to access the internet.

Review 9:Warm welcome from English speaking staff was appreciated. Quirky 2nd floor room which overlooks street was not too noisy for us. Very comfortable bed & lovely shower. We did not opt for breakfast.

Review 10:Very beautiful room, with wood beams in the ceiling, a true medieval feeling. Good common facilities in a building full of charm. Located within walking distance to Dijon central square.

Review 11:Noisy if your room is facing the street. Area is a bit scary at night. I think we had the smallest room of the hotel so it was small.

Review 12:Loved the breakfast but 27 euros for 2. The beds are very comfortable, cute hotel, higher end, nice staff.

Review 13:Nothing, all ok.

Review 14:Great location with only a short walk to Dijon town centre. Beautiful old coaching inn sympathetically renovated and furnished, good bathroom facilities. Excellent parking both onsite in hotel courtyard or at public parking adjacent to the hotel. Cheerful and helpful staff.

Review 15:One staff member was very polite and helpful, another one was more or less rude. The breakfast was overpriced and one had to ask for almost everything.

Review 16:We liked the building and how the rooms were fitted out.

Review 17:Confusion over the booking for "double" rather than "twin" - rectified fairly quickly

Review 18:Great location - a venue with character and staff keen to make the stay enjoyable

Review 19:Rooms were very hot and curtains didn't block out the light.

Review 20:central location, only a 5 minute walk to restaurants and shops. Lovely rooms, lovely bathrooms, lots of character, VERY comfy bed!

Review 21:no air con in room terrible heat all night a standard fan is not enough to make room comfortable it definatley spoilt what could have been a nice stop over

Review 22:location was good

Review 23:Rooms do not have air conditioning - the temperature was about 33 degrees and the room was very hot making sleep difficult.

Review 24:Great location and secure off road parking on site.

Review 25:My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights enroute to Grasse. Superb location within short walk to centre but also far enough away to be quiet in the evening. We arrived late but nothing was a problem.

Review 26:Not quite in the center, bur seriously only a shot 5min walk away.

Review 27:Lovely place with charm. Recommendable. Historic building hence rustic decoration. Bath room newly renovated. Private parking. Very friendly staff.

Review 28:Our room on top floor was very hot and stuffy, no air con and pedestal fan only worked intermittently, and was quite surprised to be charged to park the bike , was not told about it when we booked , Internet only worked downstairs

Review 29:Beautiful old style coaching house with loads of character, friendly staff who were helpful

Review 30:The room was in the eaves. It had very low beams which you had to watch out for. The room was quite dated and extremely hot. There was a large inefficient fan in the room but as it made no difference we asked for another fan. Two fans going all night made sleeping impossible. Breakfast at 13.50€ was much to expensive and apart from the orange juice there wasn't much else that was tempting.

Review 31:The location. The cleanliness. Parking.

Review 32:The low beam in the room, although charming, made you very wary of hitting your head!

Review 33:This hotel was beautiful. Centre of Dijon and with private parking. We also had a fan in the room which was welcome in the heat! Breakfast looked huge but we preferred walking to a cafe for coffee and croissant. Dijon was amazing! We did the Owl tour, and 3.50€ for a booklet in english describing the sights was fantastic. Every city should do this. Will always remember Dijon. Chez Eddy in the evening was a culinary delight and packed for a weeknight, locals there too.

Review 34:The Hotel was ideally situated for green space(we had a dog with us) and was very centrally located for the main bars and restaurants of Dijon. Staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming.

Review 35:Room very well furnished and comfortable. No aircon but a good fan provided. Very friendly and helful staff. Secure parking and good access to old centre. Would be very happy to stay here again

Review 36:Excellent hotel and very good value for money. Located within walking distance to "Old town Dijon" and other attractions. Best value for money hotel stay on our trip. Would definitely recommend.

Review 37:WiFi - Although this was available, It seems that you have to log in with loads of presonal info, in line with French law related to the anti terrorism act. Decided not to bother!

Review 38:Perfect place for a stopover. Ideal possition for a five min' walk to local resturants. Good to stretch your legs after a long drive.

Review 39:A small and rather pokey room in the former attic of the hotel which was really hot and stuffy. Thank goodness for the fan, but could do with air conditioning following high temperatures. If travelling by car don't forget to book your parking place!

Review 40:Nothing

Review 41:Great service, very dog friendly, lovely room. Located in the old part of Dijon right next to a park. If I am looking to stay in this area in the future I would most certainly stay here again.

Review 42:smallish room and small bathroom, relatively noisy facing the road, no air con which was not a problem as it was not hot but might be in summer.

Review 43:friendly staff, parking on site, next door to an excellent Michelin-starred restaurant, walking distance to city center

Review 44:Very small wardrobe for two people. Lighting in the room was dark (it is a general problem in most hotels).

Review 45:Extremely helpful staff. Beautifully renovated bathroom, with plenty of light. Excellent restaurants in the vicinity. Not far from city center. Safe parking.

Review 46:hotel located on the place Wilson which is a busy junction so was noisy..could not open windows as would let in fumes as well as noise, not ideal if the weather was hot.

Review 47:a good location as on the edge of a great avenue which was ideal for walking our dog. 10 min walk into town

Review 48:Has some real old world charm, with comfortable sized rooms. Not being in the centre of town allows easy access. Limited onsite parking is a real boon.

Review 49:Location was 15 minutes walk from center of town. Bathroom tiles were moldy and light fixture had lots of bugs inside. Breakfast was too expensive.

Review 50:Room size and bed was comfortable. Toiletries selection was very good.

Review 51:Hotel facade looks great... on the pictures only...: it's located on Dijon's busiest place - heavy traffic even at 3 AM !! Room size is "really" in the 10sq.m - ish...! Can't even place a suit case...! Very tiny window, feel free to open it, if you miss the car's noise and smell !

Review 52:The bar isn't really any more than a corner in which the reception staff can pour you a drink to have in the lobby/lounge. But, better than no bar at all!

Review 53:Lovely spacious bathroom Great quality bed

Review 54:Being given twin beds, when booking a double (would have chosen a different hotel if we'd known). Wifi connection dropped frequently. Changing the towels each day, when the eco policy states they won't be changed unless left on the floor.

Review 55:Recently decorated. Location in walking distance to city centre. Friendly staff, speaking English.

Review 56:No water/coffee/tea or minibar in the room. Room very basic for the price. Breakfast price far too high for what they offer.

Review 57:Loacation close to town centre but not within. Charming building. Friendly staff.

Review 58:- shelf under TV - I seen darkness a few times when stand up from desk under TV and its shelf; - darkness in little room - not enought size of window (room on chinese restaurant);

Review 59:- comfortable bed; - good location if you won't use public transport; - little room but you can find everything you need; - lift; - clean room; - enghlish speeking service; - big bathroom;

Review 60:The room was small. There was no bath in the bathroom and the extractor fan was not working.

Review 61:Hotel was easy to find from motorway and convenient for town centre. Very pleasant reception. Excellent breakfast.

Review 62:Quiet big room. Shower w/overhead shower head. Comfortable queen bed. Off street parking right behind hotel. Great staff. Especially enjoyed the morning when I was served coffee on a silver tray in the lounge.

Review 63:WiFi was complicated and had to be reinstalled each time one returned to the hotel. Not available in the rooms. Parking costs 10€ extra per night. Breakfast costs 13.5€ each. I would have preferred to pay more for the room and have everything included.

Review 64:The room was charming but tiny. The bathroom was slightly larger. Good shower. Excellent mattress. Very quiet.

Review 65:The location is on a main traffic circle. The room was small and noisy with no air conditioning (just a noisy fan). The towels etc. where old and worn.

Review 66:The location is good: easy to find by car and very close to the old town.

Review 67:the room is a littl smell, as some kind of cheese.

Review 68:All its soft towel! First class towel. Traditional design style furniture, bed, room decration, beautiful! Nice walking distance to the towncenter. Breakfast includes Salmon slice.

Review 69:Room was warm at night; the weather was quite humid and hot.

Review 70:This hotel is an excellent choice for location and value. Everyone here is friendly and helpful especially welcome was their suggestion for our first dinner in Dijon. Parking area is first class.

Review 71:Very snug carpark inside the quadrangle of this old coaching inn, especially for us North Americans!

Review 72:Excellent access to pedestrian friendly centre of Dijon, with friendly and helpful staff. No fuss with check-in or check-out. Good food. Feeling of sharing in the history of this city, since hotel is carefully updated old inn.

Review 73:Staff rude on check out. Room very small in the attic not suitable as a double room and breakfast expensive €13.50 each.

Review 74:Not too far to walk to centre of Dijon

Review 75:We were allocated a room at the front overlooking a busy roundabout/main road, and there was also a flea market which set up at 5.30am on Sat morning which woke us up. Would stay again but ask for a room at the back of the hotel which did seem quieter.

Review 76:Very welcoming, polite and friendly staff and everything was explained to us. Lovely older style hotel inside with a lot of period feautures. Would stay again.

Review 77:The shower iteself albeit in a spacious cubicle within a nice new bathroom was weak pressured and poorly fitted. We did actually request a Bath.

Review 78:The attitude and helpfulness of the staff/management was most refreshing.

Review 79:Traffic noise, especially irritating small motor bikes

Review 80:The style of the hotel and its location were perfect.Staff very friendly and helpful. Good to have secure parking. Easy access to loads of good restaurants

Review 81:The air conditioning is missing and although rooms are equipped with fan, I would not recommend it if the season is very hot.

Review 82:The location is really pleasant, both rooms and common spaces are well furnished and lightened, which creates the right clima around your stay.

Review 83:Hotel did not provide evening meals - we arrived on a Monday & all local restaurants were closed. It was pouring with rain & a long walk into town for a meal. This should be mentioned in the hotel information! The €10 per night car park was small & cramped & my husband had to clamber out of the passenger side after parking the car, which he did not find easy! Hotel was expensive for what was on offer. Breakfast also expensive, therefore we did not stay for breakfast!

Review 84:Not a lot! We would not return to this hotel again.

Review 85:Comfortable 17th century coaching house with just a 10 minute walk into Dijon. It is spotlessly clean, comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly! Don't be put off by the outside just step through the door and you will be made welcome we parked outside the front door but you can pay for secure parking within the courtyard - not necessary!

Review 86:Nothing really

Review 87:Charm of the old building, really friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was pretty good too with nice touches such as butter from the Charente.

Review 88:Very comfortable; the room was small but functional and the bathroom was immaculate. The central location made it excellent for exploring the town. There was also a lovely lounge to relax in before retiring to bed.

Review 89:It was a little further out from the centre of the city than we had realised & so choices of restaurants more limited

Review 90:Easy to find, good welcome nice room good parking very pleasant all round

Review 91:Difficult to find no bar (but staff did serve tins from a fridge)

Review 92:Lovely quaint small hotel with very helpful & friendly staff. rooms small but clean & very comfortable bed. secure parking in locked court yard.

Review 93:breakfast was expensive and didn't look very good. wifi was very unstable

Review 94:the room was spacious, bathroom newly renovated and clean. the location was good, only 10 mins walk from the city centre

Review 95:Small room and poor internet.

Review 96:Hotel is reasonably well located about 10-15mins walk to centre & restaurants. Small & friendly although rooms are quite small. Internet was patchy. Enjoyed our stay but wasn't particularly good value.

Review 97:Our rooms faced onto Wilson Place which is a major (though elegant) traffic route so we really needed to keep our windows shut which was a pity. A fan was provided, which was necessary as it was hot weather.

Review 98:Very nice and extremely helpful staff.Good rooms: comfortable, decent size and pleasantly decorated. Nice bathroom. Recently refurbished. Excellent breakfast. Secure Parking.

Review 99:The room was noisy. Noise from occupants and road noise. The room was stuffy, needed fan on all night. Location was too far out of Dijon, 20 mins walk to nearest bar/cafe, vagrants in park across the road all night.

Review 100:The room was very comfortable and airy. The bathroom was modern and clean. Parking was available onsite, at a price, and wifi was available and worked well. Breakfast was very varied and fresh.

Review 101:nothing really

Review 102:this was the second time in two years we stayed here, very nice hotel, ten minute walk to the centre of town, the staff are always helpful and friendly

Review 103:The breakfast croissants were poor!

Review 104:The location, close enough to the city centre to walk in and out easily, the characterful nature of the old building, the modern bathroom and a decent breakfast with a good range of food (but see opposite).

Review 105:Lack of ventilation in the bathroom...

Review 106:Parking, breakfast and wifi

Review 107:The noise from the street and from other rooms .

Review 108:We liked the location and the new bathroom suite and comfortable bed. Very polite staff.

Review 111:Common parts need some upgrading.

Review 112:Central location with secure parking, very comfortable bed.

Review 129:Nothing we can think of.

Review 130:The atmosphere of an old post house.
