Reviews for Coppid Beech
Review 1:Stayed many times before my daughter lives 5 minutes away, very quiet hotel and presented beautifully we always used to stay at the Hilton Bagshot road but changed to coppid beach ad it was full once and have never gone back much prefer this hotel to the Hilton. Only negative point some areas could go with little makeover crack in bathroom floor in room 103 and some wall areas need s fresh coat of paint! But nothing negative and lovely breakfast.
Review 2:When we arrived the room we had (Standard double) was very nice. However, when we tried to use the television it did not work. My partner contacted reception who sent someone straight up to try and fix it. Unfortunately they were unable to get it working. They not only moved us to a different room but gave us an upgrade to a suite for the inconvenience. Later we ordered room service from the night time menu, this arrived quicker than we had anticipated and was very nice. Overall we had a very good experience and cannot fault the staff or hotel. We will definitely look to return at another date
Review 3:Restaurant was closed..disappointed as food is usually excellent. Leisure centre in need of refresh
Review 4:As always, staff are excellent and attentive. Room comfortable
Review 5:pool was dirty and needed updating. waitress was asking if she could clear away the breakfast buffet when we had only just sat down at 9.15 which made me feel pressurised.
Review 6:good value, reception friendly
Review 7:I booked the hotel from booking.com and on arrival the reception had no details of my booking so I had to rebook all over again - so what would have happened if the hotel was already fully booked? but otherwise excellent stay with great facilities.
Review 8:The hotel is tired, balconies need treatment, carpets are dirty and worn in places. Dining area curtains been there since the opening? Room not overly clean, grout in bathroom Needs mould and mildew remover to give it the clean look? Contact me and I'd love to turn the hotel around, room by room?
Review 9:Friendliness of the staff.
Review 10:The place is looking a bit dated. The breakfast was nothing special.
Review 11:The location was very convenient as we were staying with our son and his family on Boxing Day night and they couldn't put us up. We got a half price deal fortunately - it wouldn't have been worth the full price I'm afraid.
Review 12:Friendly, helpful staff who couldn't do enough to make our visit relaxing and enjoyable. We have stayed here on two separate occasions now and the high standard of service remains the same. If we find ourselves in this area again then Coppid Beech Hotel would certainly be our first choice of a place to stay.
Review 13:The hotel was in an ok location. The decor was outdated, the only redeeming factor was the aquariums. The room I had was a good size, again decor was outdated and the plumbing in the bathroom didn't work.
Review 14:Cold ambience throughout, not a sign of festivity even though our stay included Christmas Eve, Christmad day and Boxing Day. A cracker would not have gone amiss. The bathroom smelled of drains and the whole place seemed dated and tired. On arrival it was explained to me that the gym and pool opening hours had been curtailed and the restaurant was closed, because it was Christmas!
Review 15:Room was spacious.
Review 16:1.There were no hand wash in bathroom/toilet (Hygiene) and wash rags, 2. There were hardly any room sockets for charging mobiles phones tablets etc.
Review 17:More on site activities... We had nothing to do there apart from visiting the leisure centre and with small children including toddlers, night clubs and bars are forbidden so it would be nice to have some fun and activities for parents and young children.
Review 18:Desperately needs updating, slipped stepping out onto the balcony as drains full of silt, shower door wouldn't close properly, certain bits of furniture had water damage and wobbly. Stated satellite tv but only had sky 1 or sky news, choice was poor for channels
Review 19:Price we got it for was good
Review 20:The hotel does need some modernisation and some areas do look a little tired
Review 21:Staff were very attentive and helpful no matter what the request We were there for xmas dinner 2015 and we had a very special day
Review 22:Exterior facade needs a good clean. Lots of dirt and verdigris give a very poor first impression. Tattered, faded flags suggest a tired business.
Review 23:Very comfortable room
Review 24:The cost of meals. No non-alcohol beers as my partner is recovering alcoholic.
Review 25:This was a budget break for one night. Very convenient for visiting my family.
Review 26:On check in my card was charged for my room even after telling the guy at reception that someone else would be paying for the room, he said that my card was just for holding purposes. I am now £80 down just before Christmas. Not happy! when asking for it to be refunded and charged to another card he said it wasn't possible. The room was a very good size but was very dated and had marks all over the carpets and the bathroom door was all scratched, not what you would expect for a 4 star hotel. i was so looking forward to staying here and i am sad to say that i was disappointed.
Review 27:I liked the location of the hotel and the decor in reception and hotel floors. Shower was lovely and even though we were on the 3rd floor it was very powerful.
Review 28:Could hear EVERYTHING that was being said in the next room. I think this hotel was probably really nice about 20 years ago.
Review 29:Good location. Fine for staying in after a night out when you're not spending much time in the room. Staff were friendly.
Review 30:It's like a motorway stopover hotel. Restaurants were fully booked which meant we had to travel to Wokingham for dinner. Appropriate consideration should have been made for hotel residents.
Review 31:On site night club. Breakfast
Review 32:Part of the hotel there is a beir keller and night club I was a little upset we had to pay full price to go into them. the keller had the most awful smell it was like old drains and was very of putting, but the live entertainment was very good.
Review 33:the staff were very welcoming, polite and professional. the hotel is very clean and comfortable.
Review 34:We booked a superior room but it turned out to be exactly the same as the standard rooms that the rest of our party were staying in and all were distinctly tired looking although would have been lovely when they were newly done
Review 35:Good location and Keller bar had brilliant live music which was great as we were there for a family 70th birthday gathering. Reception staff were good, bar and restaurant staff OK. Christmas meal was fairly standard stuff.
Review 36:Sockets in room had to be reset after waiting for 45 mins Disappointed that I wasn't allowed to bring guest's back to the hotel reception area for a nightcap
Review 37:Room was excellent Restaurant was very good and the added bonus of a nightclub was fantastic
Review 38:No warm welcome from reception. As soon as we arrived he went into this speech about check in being 2pm so we could not check in & if we wanted to we would have to pay a fee. This was before we even said anything & all I wanted to do was leave our bags! Later on we were brought a spare bed for the child yet the pillow was stained yello & the mattress so dirty that she slept with us. We also chose a suite room yet one side of the rooms electrics didn't work and a manager said they had no maintenance team on (at 4pm) on a Thursday afternoon. He did offer to move us but we wanted to get on with outer trip so declined.
Review 39:The pool seemed to be run well & managed by a nice staff member as well as breakfast as this was all set out nicely & the staff were lovely
Review 40:There was only one light in the bedroom but when we asked for more light and a lightbulb to be replaced the hotel did so straight away
Review 41:The breakfast is very good, the size of the bedroom, parking is free, staff are friendly
Review 42:Very tired hotel really needs some money spending on it and fast... I stay in the area at least once a week but until it's refurbished I will not return
Review 43:Nice staff
Review 44:The aircon in my room did not work. I used the portable heater that had been provided. I like a firm mattress, but the bed was extremely soft, comfortable, but very, very soft. Nevertheless, overall happy with my stay.
Review 45:No fuss, relaxed ambience.
Review 46:There was a noise in our room all night. It sounded like an old style printer constantly going off. Think it may have been a fan or air conditioning of some sort.
Review 47:Spacious rooms - lovely lobby
Review 48:The small size double bed. I was told they were all the same size but I doubt it. The duvet was like sleeping under a carpet it was so old and had been washed so many times no air could get inside it making it very heavy.
Review 49:Convenient overnight stop on my journey
Review 50:Room was a little cold. Not sure if heating system was working properly. It showed a temperature of 24 Celsius but it felt more like 18.
Review 51:A good hotel with lots of facilities for a decent price. Excellent and varied breakfast included.
Review 52:Hotel was fully booked so I suppose I was given one that was to beoverhauled soon. The result was no hot water for shower on first nightand only very hot water the second night... Front desk response was okin both cases but no alternate room available.
Review 53:the swimming pool area a little tired and in need of update but the facilities are good and staff friendly regardless.
Review 54:staff always helpful and friendly. breakfast has a large variety of foods. amazing comfortable beds.
Review 55:Unfortunately our triple rooms shower exploded into spraying cold water everywhere. It was a special surprise birthday for my husband, so he wasn't impressed. The hotel did change our room, so we repacked etc. The new room had no heating, but staff brought rads in. The tv didn't work. Overall the hotel needs a good revamp. Once again not the staffs fault, they were all very helpful.
Review 56:Friendly staff. The 80's night was good, but far to many people allowed in. We were a large group and I felt £10 per head was way over the top considering the huge group and the amount of money that we spent on alcohol, plus the fact that we were also staying at the hotel. The breakfast was amazing and staff fantastic.
Review 57:N/A
Review 58:Staff was very friendly & helpful. Rooms comfortable. Restaurant was lovely with great night life if you wanted or you could relax at long bar.
Review 59:Breakfast was very poor as it was cold and overcooked. Also a big mess with ketchup and egg on self service area I am sorry to say it was not nice and would put me off staying again . A lot of bird droppings on balcony so would not even open the window .
Review 60:Good size room with comfortable bed
Review 61:I love that this hotel is such great value for money. I have stayed many times and have booked around 35 rooms for a massive family party in 2016. Cant wait! :)
Review 62:Just the bathroom only had boiling hot water and those silly toasters all hotels seem to insist on using that burn everything
Review 63:Almost everything- couldn't do enough FB for you
Review 64:Dining room had a very cold draught from the ventilation grills although we were told that air conditioning was not switched on
Review 65:Good location and comfortable bed
Review 66:(1) impossibly complicated light switches (2) malfunctioning TV (3) bathroom ceiling coming away and needing re-decoration
Review 67:(1) upgrade gave us much a larger bedroom (2) breakfasts are the best-ever (2) great location, right by the A329M (4) plenty of car parking (5) very pleasant & helpful staff (6) hugely attractive tropical fish tank on each floor
Review 68:Leaving.
Review 69:Just the best large hotel in Bracknell. Friendly staff at all levels and a touch of American flair to the service without being 'have a nice day'. Grab a bargain suite for the weekend and make a party of it in the basement nightclub.
Review 70:There was a large gap between the bed and the wall, which made keeping the pillow around difficult. The tv didnt work and there was no toothpaste provided.
Review 71:Room was very spacious and clean. Bed very comfortable. Quiet and peaceful stay with a nice view.
Review 72:We went to nightclub in the hotel and for watewa reason the security guy didn't want us to let back in after he locked us outside on smoking area. After coming back to reception and asked for his name. ..nobody wasn't able to tel us who he is... lol... Otherwise hotel is nice.just really upset bout that as we wanted to hav fun..
Review 73:Clean nice hotel. Good value
Review 74:Not enough staff in the restaurant Wrong starter brought then soup cold and had to be changed. Left for half hour between courses with no food and no drinks Breakfast choices ie tomatoes, brown bread, run out of and not replaced
Review 75:Lovely room
Review 76:Firework display meant every man and his dog used the car park so no room for guest of hotel when they arrived. Surely some restriction on entry could have been organised. Loud knocking on window or roof in when wind blew in my room.
Review 77:Reduced room rate
Review 78:Very relaxing room was very nice, breakfast great. The only downside was residents having to pay to use the bar in the cellar, should be free for residence
Review 79:The hotel was good to where we were going. Good value and staff were lovely. The only thing was we checked in took our bag to the room and went out again as I was not feeling well and didn't get back from hospital until 1.00 am..
Review 80:The only disappointment was the condition of our bathroom. Many tiles on the floor were cracked and very stained. Around the bath there was one long dirty stain. The door needed a coat of paint especially on the inside as it looked very grubby. The bathroom needs a full makeover.
Review 81:The overall appearance of the hotel and the comfort of the facilities. The food in the restaurant was very good with a a varied choice. All the staff we had dealings with were very polite, courteous and friendly.
Review 82:Just to be picky, the lighting in the bedroom could have been better. There were several lamps but no central light, so the room felt somewhat gloomy.
Review 83:Everything was fine - nice staff and a large, comfortable room. The buffet breakfast was very tasty with plenty of choice. I would recommend this hotel as it offers good value for money in what can be an expensive area. (Fri & Sat night for £160 all-in.)
Review 84:Bathroom looking tired - shower head coming off wall, tiling looked tired and no working fan in the bathroom
Review 85:We had an upgrade to a superior room and it was well worth it as it was very spacious and very comfortable.
Review 86:No fridge in the room and a £10 charge for wine glasses! Plus the bathroom was a bit shabby and not very clean - hair on the wall - yuck! Smoking facilities were VERY poor
Review 87:The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Jan the Maitre-D in the restaurant. Great fish-tank
Review 88:We arrived on Friday the 30th October, for two nights in a suite ( room 214 ). We were checking in and for some reason our bank card was declined not once but twice, and instead of pulling us aside and explain what was going on your staff decided to shout it out that the card was being declined, which was very very embarrassing as there was a queue behide us. We used another card and went to the bank the next morning to be told the card wasn't being declined it was asking for a autherisation code, which we wasn't told. Then as we checked out this happened again with the same embrassment, how does it happen on the way out when you have already secured the payment. To add insult to injury when we approached your staff about how they handled the situation, there was no apology or simpathy as they had us standing there for a long period and I am 7 months pregnant, only a strug of their shoulders. The customer services was disgusting As for the room the toilet wouldn't flush properly, the hot tub kept turning off and the shower has a massive crack on it, nothing we expected from a suite. We wasn't told about the noise the nightclub would make and couldn't sleep at all. This was a present for my 30th and a relaxing weekend for a mum to be. We have heard good things about your hotel. We are very sorry to say we are so disappointed with our stay and feel like it was not worth the money we paid. Kayleigh rowley Gerald pashu
Review 89:The massage and service we received from Venus beauty wad fantastic.
Review 90:Could hear everything going on in room next door and as it was in the early hours I did not get a good night's rest. It was cheap but now I know why so not good value and would not stay here again.
Review 91:Breakfast was ok. Receptionist was welcoming.
Review 92:still waiting for a refund of pre-authorisation money after nearly a month!
Review 93:A lovely hotel with friendly staff and good facilities. Very clean and I love the nite club
Review 94:The only thing i didnt like was the prices in the bar. £7.75 for a large glass of wine is quite extortionate.
Review 95:Room was cleaned promptly and fully re stocked ie toilet paper, towels and tea, coffee etc.
Review 96:I didn't have a bad experience but if I was to to anything it would be pool was cold but not major issue still managed to swim. And my sausages on my breakfast were undercooked. But that's small compared to how good my stay was. Had a fab time
Review 97:The hotel is really well maintained, Breakfast spread was amazing, staff were friendly, rooms were lovely,
Review 98:The hotel has a nightclub which we weren't made aware of at time of booking. Noise made by drunken young women in corridors until after 3am unacceptable.
Review 99:Staff and food
Review 100:Someone else given our room entry key as well, small portions on evening meal, poor maintainance, no heater when asked for twice, room above disco very noisy, dangerous step onto balcony.
Review 101:beds, breakfast and friendly staff
Review 102:No cold water coming out of the taps in the bathroom. Room service was a bit hit and miss. Went down for breakfast in the morning and came back to our room to check out to find that our keys didn't work even though we sill had 45 mins to check-out.
Review 103:Stunning hotel with good facilities
Review 104:Room was a littles tired could do with an update. After requesting quiet room, walls very thin, woken by next room switching kettle on. Breakfast was chaos, food nice but service very poor had to wait for clean plates, dirty tablecloth covered up by tablemat! Had to ask for tea and coffee. Could do with more staff and organisation at busy breakfast service, shame as we liked and hotel and felt this let it down.
Review 105:Excellent location, rooms clean, staff friendly. Hotel looks lovely real feel of Swiss chalet.
Review 106:Staff very surly and not very helpful, the hotel is showing it's age now, The leisure area needed refurbishing the floor tiles had black mold on them in the joints. The swimming pool had tiles missing on the bottom of the pool. The breakfast was a disaster as a lot of the cooked food was not kept topped up and only one toaster available for about 60 people?
Review 107:The steam room was o.k
Review 108:I did not really dislike anything. The hotel is just looking a little tired and in need of some TLC.
Review 109:I was made to feel very welcome and safe which is important as a lone female visitor.
Review 110:The double bed was a little too small and therefore felt unable to relax resulting in a poor night's sleep.
Review 111:the size of the hotel, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the food, the bar , the facilities.
Review 112:Bar staff were surly. Bar ran out of our preferred wine on the first night, 'there may be some tomorrow'! Swimming pool area was tired and in places dirty.
Review 113:Hotel itself was fine. Restaurant food very good. Restaurant staff excellent and professional.
Review 114:Everything was going smoothly until my friend and I came back from a party we went to and we decided to try out the hotel club apres. We went to the reception to ask about where the club is and what we need and he just instructed us to go down the basement and so we went just to find out we needed the residents ticket to get in the club since it was already a late night entry. So we went back up to our room and then gone back down to the reception, asked for a ticket then we entered the club, paid £5 each and we informed them we have another friend coming. We ordered drinks and danced a little bit on the dance floor until the dj started announcing no drinks on the dancefloor which was quite embarassing and we had no idea of their rules. They could have just had people to go around and check if people had drinks rather than embarass us. A few minutes later our other friend was already outside so one of us went out and told the bouncer that she was just going to collect our friend. When they tried to come back in they wouldn't let them come in anymore and i was just waiting inside listening to all the commotion on the door. They were saying because we only paid for 2 wristbands and the 3rd one didn't (obviously he's just arrived) the 2 of them are not allowed to come in anymore. So our other friend (who didn't have the wristband) was willing to go home just so the other one could come back in but they did not allow her to come in as well and to make matters worse another lady customer butt in and showed her wristband and they still let her in! Talk about discrimination! We were the only asian's in the club and they've let a blonde one in. Wow! We were so annoyed and i just had to go out! Coming back to our room we were getting ready for bed and then the water was boiling hot. We couldn't wash our face or brush our teeth so we rang reception and had to wait for them to fix the problem and to think that was already 4am!
Review 115:I liked that the there was a balcony in the room and the breakfast.
Review 116:Still don't know why the fire alarm went off in the morning! Breakfast a little bit below par compared with similar hotels I have stayed in.
Review 117:Room comfortable, facilities good, burger and chips good and (live) fishes good! Reception staff obliging.
Review 118:lots of cigarette ends near to the entrance doors - dropped by smokers too idle to go a few yards further to use the smoking area
Review 119:very helpful and friendly staff , nice size bedroom with a very comfortable bed . good breakfast .
Review 120:There was dirt on the bathroom floor could have done with a better clean..pool area needs a bit of a revamp looking a bit worn
Review 121:Nice situated near to legoland etc..great breakfast ..comfy rooms
Review 122:Room and Rowans restaurant were not very clean. Beer keller bar did not serve food on either days as stipulated. Groups of people making noise and causing a disturbance until 5.15am on Sunday morning. Will never stay here again I have made a formal complaint to the hotel via email but have not had a response.
Review 123:There was a fire alarm on Sunday morning and we exited via the staircase. It was very disconcerting to observe how few people evacuated the building - and there were no staff at the assembly point. Our son and his wife were in the restaurant at the same time and said that everyone, staff included, just seemed to be ignoring it.
Review 124:Good size room. Very comfortable beds.
Review 125:Bathroom had not been cleaned from previous guest. Bath had gunk around, and floor had some kind of liquid markings. The TV did not even have basic free view channels. Wouldn't stay again. A lot of money for nothing.
Review 126:Room was big, friendly staff.
Review 127:Place is looking a little careworn around the edges - needs a refurb. Service whilst polite and effective was a little slow at times.
Review 128:HUGE ROOM. Comfortable bed!! Nice corner bath. Fish tanks on landings were a nice touch.
Review 129:Rooms are a bit dated with furniture and decor. The Bier Keller restaurant needs to be booked well in advance apparently ( we were not aware of that before arriving)
Review 130:Value for money and clean , pleasant hotel.
Review 131:The staff are so friendly and helpful and the hotel is immaculate. I stay there once a year as we have a meet up with friends and always have a great stay
Review 132:Security guard at the club Friday night was extremely rude and treated my like a homeless person because I tried to get into the "Bar" with tennis shoes on. NO dress code published I saw.
Review 133:Great facility, room and on site food/beverage
Review 134:Traditional slightly dated but welcoming and comfortable decor . Beds clean and comfortable . Double glazing coped well with the traffic noise associated with central location . Good facilities. Friendly staff . We did not use the restaurants due to prior arrangements .
Review 135:Decor & equipment felt a little dated and reminiscent of the hotel Istayed at in Poland a week ago. Pricing was a tad over expectation forsatisfactory food. Found breakfast confusing and lacking any concept ofpersonal service.
Review 136:Friendly efficient reception staff and prompt attentive room service.
Review 137:The hairdryer was one of the ones that fastenens to the wall, and isn't very powerful. Best to take your own.
Review 138:Lovely, spacious room Good food Reasobably priced compared to alot of nearby hotels
