Reviews for Dolphin House Serviced Apartments
Review 1:I never smoke only had vapour e cigarettes which is once a month but when I left I was called by the dolphin saying the room was smelling of cigs I have never smoked or like the smell and I was slightly late checking out called the reception twice and then the receptionist came and said if I don't vacate the room in 5 mins I will be charged £50 which after staying there over a year I should be treated with more respect and also the dolphin had plenty availability
Review 2:Location clean privacy value
Review 3:The man in the reception of the pool /gym wasn't very friendly or welcoming. The children swim times need to be shown to avoid any confusion as they are not allowed in the pool after 5pm, when the closing time states 10pm on the swim times slip the gym reception gave me. 4.30 we were told it wasn't worth us going swimming as the children's swim times were until 5pm and we would have to start leaving the pool at 4.45. Which was disappointing for the children.
Review 4:The apartment was ideal for us as a family. The swimming pool was lovely addition for the children when available and the option of the spa.
Review 5:Cleanliness not good carpet dirty. The tap in the bathroom leaked and the tap in the Kitchen kept dripping. For the amount of money you pay its not good enough
Review 6:Location
Review 7:Our room's door was catching on the carpet - needed a good shove to open and close it, this meant that the hinges were also working loose. The kitchenette was missing a washing brush/cloth. The sink's mixer tap needed attention, five turns with no water then another quarter turn and the water's full on and splashing everywhere. We could have done with a drying rack. The TV is about 10 years old 24inch model which would have been OK in a smaller room.
Review 8:The size and quality of the rooms. Didn't have chance to see the gym/leisure facilities so can't comment on those. Check-in was efficient, staff friendly.
Review 9:Would be good if there was a proper kitchen in the one bedroom apartment. Water taps in the bathroom could do with an upgrade to have combo hot/cold water.
Review 10:Location, staff and room clean, big and comfortable. The smart TV in the room was an added bonus that we didn't know about!
Review 11:Bed too hard and pillows dissapeared when you them with being feather . No smoking areas
Review 12:The spa facilities was excellent and good value for Money . Good transport links
Review 13:Not enough time to enjoy all the facilities
Review 14:The apartments were perfect for us as a group to meet up and socialise before heading into Westminster. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast wish we had time to enjoy a swim.
Review 15:Thanks for the upgrade! Just what we needed after being on the road for a week. Rooms very spacious, warm, impeccably clean & quiet. Great location and facilities.
Review 16:Double bed felt very small. Shower/ bath did work properly and repairs were not carried out during our stay. Toaster also gave up on us mid-stay!
Review 17:Very clean accommodation with good bed linen and kitchen well equipped.
Review 18:the gym was aweasome, and it had many other sport activities:) the staff is super friendly, those comments are my children's point of view regarding the hotel. i think its a wonderful hotel when it come to value for money I highly recommend it :)
Review 19:- availability of tourists info, etc wud be helpfulI'm
Review 20:Location - short walking distance to Pimlico station and 10-15 mins walk to Victoria coach and train station - 15 mins walk to Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, London Eye
Review 21:The attitude by the employees were horrible! And it was the worst hotel I ever lived in London! When some thing need to be contacted with reception, they just don't know how to communicate with their customers and most importantly, they never let you finish your words! And they will cost your extra money for some unbelievable reasons and cost a lot!
Review 22:The facilities are fine! But you should keep eye on your belongings! Because they will not return it if you left that in the room!
Review 23:The cleaners were quite abrupt to get us out of the room even though we had called up to extend our check out
Review 24:The one bedroom apartment was a great choice for a nice stay as we brought our own food.
Review 25:Not one thing
Review 26:The place is great No bad points I have stayed in all sizes of rooms including the 3 bed They are all good sized rooms with everything you need
Review 27:1) There are not much kitchen utilities such as basic stuff like salt, pepper, oil, dish washing liquid, sponge......etc. 2) the lights are too dim 3) no slippers and hair dryer
Review 28:Location was great and loved their gym.
Review 29:Single room little more than a cupboard - not acceptable for the price paid. Reception Staff next to useless, & rather rude & lazy... no idea of customer service & one didn't seem to have the ability to speak! Poor!
Review 30:Returning to a old favourite, seeing old friends
Review 31:Room was too warm. Cooked breakfast was poor - bacon like leather and eggs were not freshly fried. All seemed to have been kept warm for a time.
Review 32:Spacious and comfortable accommodation.
Review 33:A bit noisy in the morning due to a school in front of the building
Review 34:Upgraded to 1 bedroom studio apartment. 5 min walk to underground station. Pool and spa are fantastic. Very clean and spacious.
Review 35:All fire doors open. All entry back doors open, we were not confortable with that. Our room was at the back of car park we couldn't see nothing. We had no chair in our room, we ask for one we got it the next day, we were told we didn't pay for a suite, no chair... No where to hang a towel Walk half a mile to reception
Review 36:The bed was comfortable (Not the pillows)
Review 37:Absolutely nothing I didn't like.
Review 38:I liked everything. This place gets 10 out of 10 from me. OK, so it's a little bit expensive, but no more than most London city centre hotels, and Dolphin House has much better facilities than many of those.
Review 39:Location really good and close to tube station. All Rooms (bedroom, bathroom, sitting room) are very spacious, especially for central London. Kitchenette good for a simple breakfast.
Review 40:As per my telephone conversation on Saturday 14th November with your customer services department. I informed them that the room allocated to us was not of the standard which was advertised (pictures and specs) on your website. The bathroom had a leak which flooded the floor, the tiles around the taps had mould around it, the bath panel was rotting, the sink tap was broken and sprayed water out rather then flowing, the temperature control on the shower did not work. When we informed the reception following the flood we were told to put towels down on the floor as house keeping and maintenance was closed which meant we didn't have enough clean towels and had to share them. The following morning we had the repeat the laying down of towels on the floor in order to have shower safely as no body from maintenance had come to fix the problem. This and the problem with temperature control should have been addressed by Dolphin House immediately as it could have lead to health and safety issues. When we raised our concern with the duty manager and explained that our safety had been put at risk as we or our children could have slipped on the wet floor and it is a breach of healthy and safety, we were informed that the house keeping should have informed them of this. I was very disappointed with this response as I felt our safety was not taken seriously and regardless to who's responsibility it is a risk assessment should have been carried out before the apartment was allocated to a customer. The leak was fixed however the problem with the temperature control of the shower still needed addressingThe over all standard and of the apartment was very poor and nothing like the specifications and illustration on your web site. The carpets were somewhat dirty, there was no desk as mentioned in the specifications, the wardrobe door had dents, untidy, painted, generally of poor finishing and the size of the apartment seemed smaller then the one advertised.
Review 41:It would be nice if you were able to hire toweling gowns to wear to and from the pool / spa and apartments
Review 42:Staff were able to help with Early Check-in and Late Check-out. Pool and changing rooms were clean and tidy
Review 43:The bar & grill was not up to par as far as food was concerned, although staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 44:Well located with easy access to tube and buses.
Review 45:After a long journey, we arrived much later than planned at the hotel but check which super fast, and we were in our free upgraded apartment within 5 mins! The room had everything you would need for a short break, and the self catering faclities were fab (everything needed to cook a full meal). The overall apartment was excellent, and we just wished we'd booked for longer.
Review 46:Visited during windy storm season - rattling windows!
Review 47:Location-24 bus, Victoria tube station, walk to Tate Britain, restaurants near Victoria station. Studio flat with kitchenette worked well. Very clean and updated flat.
Review 48:Nothing really. Couldn't fault it for what we paid.
Review 49:Excellent value for money. Close to centre of London. Comfortable, Well equipped. well furnished. Quiet.
Review 50:A comfortable and recently updated facility in a safe part of the city, with excellent transportation options, restaurant and exercise facilities all at a reasonable price.. And we love Omar's sandwiches in the café.
Review 51:The room was extremely hot and we had to keep the windows fully open night and day the whole week we stayed despite the weather being cool, needing to wear jackets and scarfs outside .It was obvious this was a permanent problem as there were two electric fans provided in the wardrobe On reporting our concerns to the staff we were told that nothing could be done as the whole building was the same problem!! Something to do with being above the Pool!!We would not choose to stay here again
Review 52:The location was good for the tube and bus to get us anywhere in London Also having a restauranton on site open for breakfast, lunch and dinner
Review 53:Light levels a little low in living room.
Review 54:Upgraded to spacious two bedroomed apartment. Very clean and comfortable with good quality furnishings. It felt like one could live there for a while.
Review 55:Nothing
Review 56:Large, clean comfortable studio apartment short distance from tube station. Great to have pool, stream room and sauna for the end of the day. Bar facilities was very good. Would prefer this to a hotel.
Review 57:Our initial room was not so great (economy double), but we were immediately upgraded to a 1-bed suite, thanks to the attentive and responsive management.
Review 58:Fantastic location, lovely furnishings/bed-linen, comfy bed, great little kitchen, spacious, friendly and accommodating staff, delicious breakfast.
Review 59:None of the staff actually follow up on any requests made by guest. So I ended up having to make so many calls and evetually had to go to the reception to get anythings done. On my stay we happened to have an apartment with so many problems ie. Safety box is not working, water temperature can not be adjusted.
Review 60:Location is good in a quiet area near Pimlico station. The apartment has a washing machine which is handy.
Review 61:The hotel was in an excellent location for both the tube or a nice stroll along the Thames, nothing was too much trouble for the hotel staff, they were very friendly and accommodating and the hotel was spotless.
Review 62:It was quite easy to find and we were pleasantly surprised how nice it was once we entered the building .It's situated in a nice quiet area with good communication by train or bus. Will seek to use it again when we revisit London
Review 63:Basic uninspiring decor a bit tired. Tv temperamental and no decent coffee in rooms
Review 64:Value, location, very comfortable beds interesting building and swimming pool
Review 65:The location is outstanding and our apartment was astounding for the price. There is no service connected with this facility as far as I can see. The restaurant stove was broken, they served us raw tuna on a bun, and most people did not speak English. There were a few very well trained and hospitable people at the desks, Alex the Bellhop was our only friend it seemed. I wish I could remember names, but that would not be fair. The last member at the desk was extremely rude to to me when I asked for my phone. She said she hadn't been in attendance so there likely was not a phone there that was mine. Having been stressed out by a $900 (a company recommended by the Dolphin House) taxi ride and $400 taxi ride from Southhampton, I just wanted to get to the airport with my disabled cousin. No one, not one, in Dolphin House could assist me. I asked for a manager but there was none available because it was Sunday. Then when I was told my phone was not there, I really lost it. The young woman said aren't you going to say please for me to look for it. I said "No." What I would have said in her place was, "I wasn't there, but let me take a look." It is as though they like to see guests uncomfortable, I really don't know how else to put this experience. So the trade off for staying at a place like this is that one is completely on there on...just as you would be in an apartment, but in an apartment there is a super always on duty and usually others to assist. This was clearly not the case.
Review 66:Outstanding location and rooms.
Review 67:There is no washing machine what is strange for me. When Renting an apartment you usually expect it to have a washing machine so I was a bit disappointed
Review 68:Location and beds are superb
Review 69:No bad experience although the 'on site' shops are a little limited and disappointing. Good shops nearby though which made up for it.
Review 70:Everything really from the standard of our apartment to the facilities. Such a pleasant surprise in the middle of London. Excellent value for money
Review 71:Great escape from the hustle and bustle of London. Handy to Victoria Station which gives you easy access to everywhere. Upgraded to a two bedroom apartment which was fantastic!
Review 72:Lovely gardens and excellent facilities - spa, swimming pool, sauna etc. Great to have access to free laundry services (do it yourself). Close to the Pimlico tube station. Pleasant, helpful staff.
Review 73:Fantastic location and spacious comfortable room. The restaurant was nice and the little shopping mall is a real throw back to a different era; it's like walking on to a film set.
Review 74:Room not made up until 4.00 pm at second request, room very hot, breakfast staff unfriendly
Review 75:Pleasant gardens, practical accommodation, good location, quiet
Review 76:Room 1 was very noisy. Expensive poor breakfast. Nobody accompanied me to reach the room via the big complex complex on admission !!. Small sized wardrobe.
Review 77:Nice garden and location
Review 78:Remotes for televisions were a constant source of inconvenience, and room servicing could have been better. Absence of airconditioning could be a problem in summers
Review 79:Location; helpful staff; comfortable and modern rooms; amazing gym and onsite facilities; lovely garden!
Review 80:The flats are large, clean, new and comfortable. The staff is courteous and kind. The location is perfect for taking bus 24 or Pimlico Tube station; taxi stand nearby.
Review 81:A wonderful experience, with clean, well appointed rooms. Having stayed in other hotels and apartments during my trip to London, Dolphin House was head and shoulders above the rest! I will definitely book this accommodation again in the future.
Review 82:Stayed many times and the room is getting smaller room 615 should be called a studio!smallest room we have ever had I couldn't get the kitchen and could see what what I was doing when I did Nearly burnt my had when making coffee No air con room too hot as window doesn't open enough and fan is inadequate Too expensive for what it was Have to be desperate to come back!
Review 83:The staff were very slow to address problems, and oh gosh! The lift was something from the 19th century... And it broke down the first day we were there. Also, remember to check if you left anything behind before check-out, because their staff doesn't bother with replying your emails once you have checked-out. Absolutely terrible service.
Review 84:I liked that the underground (Pimlico station) was super convenient to get to town!!! It was very easy to get to town areas. However, it's not convenient if you'll be going to the airport with baggage via the underground.
Review 85:Insufficient lighting in the apartment. Impossible to read at night with the VERY LOW wattage in the bedside lamps and ceiling light
Review 86:The excellent and most helpful reception staff at Dolphin House. Also excellent staff in housekeeping and the restaurant
Review 87:Did not initially get the studio ordered but after discussing this with 'GUISEPPE' he met our requirements. He was incredibly helpful and I really appreciated the way he looked after us.
Review 88:Very small 'kitchen' which contained a microwave crammed over a small sink and fridge.
Review 89:Immaculately presented and spacious, regularly cleaned, friendly and helpful staff. Good location, with easy access to London Underground from Pimlico station. Nearby restaurants, bars and shops.
Review 90:Not a bad experience, but no room service which was a bit of a pain after restaurant closed. The check-in staff were a bit officious.
Review 91:Location wax excellent and the apartment was spacious and we'll set up.
Review 92:We asked for breakfast vouchers for the following day on the evening before departure. In the event we did not want breakfast but were surprised to be told that the vouchers were 'non-refundable' and that we would be charged for breakfast even if we did not want it. Disappointing!
Review 93:excellent location, excellent bed and linen, spacious room
Review 94:We were above the outdoor service linen area. It was very noisy when the lorries arrived to collect the linen.Forgot to leave some coffee but kind gent on reception let us have complimentary coffee at bar & grill
Review 95:Large one bed apartment, quite plush
Review 96:Location is amazing and the facilities including gym, spa, dining and shopping inside the compound are first rate. The gardens are a delight and the place is very peaceful. Getting around to other parts of the city is very convenient and Pimlico tube station is under 5 minute walk.
Review 97:Decor in rooms is very tired. Very noisy school yard just next door so quite noisy. Very basic toiletries and i would have liked to have teapot in kitchen. Just no detail on small things. I was also cold in room. No control of temperature. Very very basic bed and furniture in room.
Review 98:Spa and gym. Very complete good gym and great equipment
Review 99:The cooked full English breakfast, my husband had, was rather meagre, however my omelette was good. A bit surprised that the cleaning charge for the room was not included in the original price (or perhaps i hadn't seen the small print)
Review 100:Good location, it did feel a safe and friendly area. The apartments had the added extra of a little shopping arcade. The room was well proportioned and had everything we needed. The fridge was a decent size, a nice touch was the carton of milk. All staff were pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay again if needed to be in the area.
Review 101:It was a good choice for three nights stay in London, but the room price is a bit steep. The food in the on site restaurant was average.
Review 102:The 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in was well appointed and comfortable. It was quite and clean. The facilities to launder your own clothes was excellent!. The nearest tube station is Pimlico station which is about a 5 minute easy walk. Easy to get everywhere.
Review 103:Close to tube stop and very good location to easily walk to the river and see the sights. Very comfortable apartment with all facilities available. Great all round for groups of friends, couples or families. Will use again
Review 104:The location was excellent and easy to find Tube station just round the corner Lovely welcome from the staff The staff were absolutely fantastic when I lost my passport and helped me reduce stress levels by a mile. Couldn't thank them enough.
Review 105:When we arrived we were told the apartment we had booked wasn't available. We were compensated with free breakfast & a larger apartment for our second night. We had to spend the 1st night in seperate rooms & it was a bit of an inconvenience having to swap rooms after the first night.
Review 106:Beds were extremely comfortable. The location was great. There was a problem with our booking and we were compensated for the mistake.
Review 107:None
Review 108:Unbeatable location if you want to be central to London but 200 m off the beaten track plus the use of the pool was fab. The quality and the amount of space you get compared with other 4 star hotels is what makes it.
Review 109:TV controls were difficult to use - twice had to call service man. Remote batteries had to be replaced. Kitchen could be slightly bigger and better appointed given the size of the space.
Review 110:Large spacious rooms except kitchen. Two televisions
Review 111:Breakfast was a bit confusing, nobody asked for our order or explained what was available
Review 112:I liked the location, the size of the rooms. The staff were very helpful and courteous.
Review 113:Nothing!
Review 114:From the start I was informed that my room had been upgraded at no extra cost! The staff came outside to my car to collect our luggage and delivered to room. Fantastic "suite", all round comfort and space, superb relaxing gardens [weather was good], breakfast a tad expensive but nice enough. Quiet location, for me, it was great value and the swimming pool and spa a bonus plus there's a fitness lounge!
Review 115:lack of drinking glasses. i.e. only one large glass and one little water glasses and only one large wine glass (red) and one small white glass (white) for two people. No glass for bathroom
Review 116:location to bus stop and tube station
Review 117:Only real negative is no power plug in the bathroom.
Review 118:Good location. Minutes from Pimlico station & walking distance to Victoria Station & Hyde Park/Bu kingham Palace. Stayed in the 2 bed apartment. It was quiet, close to a supermarket.
Review 119:It had a little bit of halls of residence feel to it. Although room was modern it had a very basic feel to it. Kitchenette was tiny. No space to place cosmetics or toiletries in bathroom. Tv was broken but we didn't use it to be honest.
Review 120:Location is central London without it being in all the madness. Nice little village full of modern apartments. Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Lovely onsite restaurant. Room was cleaned every day even though we were told it would be every other day. Fresh milk provided every day. Tea and coffee replaced. Great little find at an amazing price.
Review 121:Booked 4 bedrooms for family members for a wedding 6 months in advance -all the rooms were much smaller than requested and outside the mainhotel building. No explanation no manager available - we stayed for 3nights - had it not been my daughters wedding and have prepaid monthsprior - I would have left.
Review 122:The location
Review 123:The desk staff was very helpfull with directions and flight check in. Took the time to explain everything and so kind. The studio room was big and a nice retreat after a long day of sightseeing. Convenience of a kitchen facilities in room was great for a quick breakfast and it was a nice touch to find coffee, tea and milk in the fridge when we arrived.
Review 124:Thought it a bit silly that the accommodation only had a washing machine when a washer/dryer would be more appropriate for short stays. A drying rack is provided but it just seemed a bit silly. TV in lounge didn't work. Rooms were dated and dark
Review 125:Not far from Pimlico Underground
Review 126:We could not get a shower or a bath in our room before going out due to boiling hot water coming out of the hot and cold taps, never experienced that before.
Review 127:Hot water system broke down for several hours on one of the days. My wife is disabled and relies upon a hot shower each day. However Dolphin house did give us a discount as compensation.
Review 128:We need a lot of space given my wife's disability combined with on-site parking and a self-catering option. Dolphin House apartments fully meet these needs.
Review 129:The bathroom is too small , especially the sink and storage space for personal toiletries are not sufficient.
Review 130:The Apparment was very spacious and the kitchen was very well equipped for self- caterers .
