Review 4:first night wrong room noisy no bath confusing layout of hallways and doors in poor state of repair poor plumbing no bar really first night no restaurant due to large booking

Review 5:location

Review 6:Being int end true of town this provided a great base to explore the Castle and village. Although the maze of stairs to our room seemed daunting at first, we soon found our way. Large breakfast in beautiful surroundings with friendly and accommodating staff.

Thanks for a wonderful time at Yarn Market Hotel! Tanya:-)

Review 10:Breakfast choices a bit limited.

Review 11:Hotel located in the attractive village of Dunster. Well placed for North Somerset and Devon coast and Exmoor. We had a nice light good sized room overlooking the historic high street. Very clean, friendly staff.

Review 12:Advertised wifi didn't work anywhere in hotel. Perfect at hotel opposite so used bar and ate dinner there. Better menu too. Good breakfast (and attentive staff) spoiled by awful pop music from local radio.

Review 13:Large, well appointed bedroom and bathroomade

Review 14:Great comfort after difficult journey. Proper 'home 'cooking, with early breakfast to suit my programme. Friendly and considerate staff who I look forward to meeting again.

Review 15:Room nice however bathrooms need updating and we had a problem with heating. Radiator on full all night and unable to turn down. We couldn't sleep and sat by open window most of night.

Review 16:Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location and food very good.

Review 17:Evening meal decent quality but pricey - however the pub opposite does good bar meals in very pleasant surroundings.

Review 18:Well located in the main street, welcoming staff and a quirky, historic building.

Review 19:This charming old hotel is something of a rabbit warren, although a lift was available for those that needed it. Parking not easy but no real problem!

Review 20:Nice, character filled room, very good buffet breakfast and very friendly, helpful Staff.

Review 21:Nothing

Review 22:The location, the room was quiet and clean, with excellent views. If exploring Dunster, you can walk everywhere from here. Excellent cooked breakfast, plenty of food. We had been to the Yarn market before, and would probably stay again.

Review 23:Amount of stairs to bedrooms.Price of meals.Beds very high for mature people.

Review 24:Good position for visiting.Dining room staff friendly.Clean beds & room.

Review 25:The attitude of the receptionist on arrival particularly her repeated reference to my internet booking as an economy room. The room I was shown first was not fit having just a bath with a rubber hose device for washing your hair. The toilet seat would not fold back either. Very poor room quality. The staircases are really confusing.

Review 26:The breakfast was excellant particularly when served buffet style. The waiting on staff were very helpful.

Review 27:Poor Parking Steep Stairs and no lift. Small room Lack of wardrobe space No shower apart from rubber stethoscope type device you had to stick on the bath taps. Windows too restricted in opening for fresh air No magnifying mirror in bathroom

Review 28:Good location Excellent Breakfast Friendly Staff Clean and tidy Good WiFi

Review 29:Hotel info said that WiFi didn't require a password, but when I tried to access it asked for a password and wouldn't let me proceed without one. Walls were paper-thin. I wanted a lie-in, but was woken early by the family in the room next door who weren't making a huge noise, but enough to prevent me from getting back to sleep. Rather upset about that!

Review 30:Location was excellent, and the staff were very good. Rooms clean and comfortable.

Review 31:I could have done with a more comfortable mattress. I would have liked the breakfast time to have been extended to 10am on a Sunday rather than 9.30am

Review 32:Staff were happy to book taxis for us and recommend places to go. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. The breakfast was varied and plentiful - the cooked breakfast was excellent! Our room was fine, ensuite was fine, shower good. We had a lovely view from our window being right at the top.

Review 33:Standard of furnishings was cheap, the paintwork was scruffy and the buffet breakfast was basic. The orange juice was served in small glasses and was of poor quality. The cereal bowls were small so you couldn't get much. A typical cost saving was made on the bread, such a simple substance and so easy to ruin a meal with it. I'm sure there are wonderful bakers in the area but the bread was a dull supermarket type sliced loaf. I found out too late that the breakfast menu to order was far superior. If you like TV it was a very small one. I didn't dine at the Yarn Market so have no comments on that. It wasn't awful but £140 per night I would expect better.

Review 34:The staff and management were helpful, very nice, tried hard and were also efficient. Coffee was good. The bed was comfortable and the room was quite.

Review 35:The public areas (except the restaurant) are rather dull but as we had a pleasant large room this was no problem.

Review 36:The strongest point was the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Great location: Dunster itself is almost too good to be true and a useful centre with good bus services. Good breakfast. Didn't take dinner (pricey) but easy to eat out. Parking not the problem you expect. Ask about free parking vouchers - and the 2for1 vouchers for local attractions.

Review 37:Staff were very friendly and helpful. As we arriving for a wedding on the same day, we had asked if we could change anywhere in the hotel (as booking is at 3pm). The staff went out of their way to have one of our rooms ready when we arrived early for the wedding.

Review 38:Limited menu choice but what was offered was absolutely lovely.

Review 39:Great staff, all very helpful, great location & excellent food.

Review 40:The room was very warm which made it a bit hard to sleep.

Review 41:Ideal location for nearby wedding. Staff helpful, nice breakfast.

Review 42:Great location in the heart of Dunster, perfect for Candlelight festival. Comfy bed and friendly staff at reception.

Review 43:Friendly staff,excellent dinner,welcoming family atmosphere.

Review 44:Breakfasts very poor. Food over cooked/burnt. Poor choice of options.

Review 45:The excellent staff, cheerful, helpful and very pleasant.

Review 46:Lovely location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room and excellent dinner menu, changed daily. Generous breakfast too.

Review 61:No coverage on mobiles, could only get bbc on tv

Review 62:Staff friendly, very dog friendly ,great hotel for exploring surrounding area,Beautiful breakfast

Review 73:No free parking, small room, very small bathroom

Review 74:Nice town, central location

Review 75:nothing whatsoever

Review 76:friendly staff and excellent home cooked evening meal. Just a short walk from the castle.

Review 77:Staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was first class

Review 78:The position

Review 79:nothing

Review 80:Gill , the waitress made our stay perfect . she is worth her weight in gold .

Review 81:Extremely old fashioned bathroom facilities with no shower and nowhere to store toiletries.

Review 82:Staff were efficient and very helpful

Review 83:Evening meal a bit pricey.

Review 84:Hearty Breakfast.

Review 85:Very good and friendly. Service would willing recommend not my first visit and or last

Review 86:staircase not safe room a bit small

Review 87:breakfast

Review 88:noisy fridge in bar area.

Review 89:excellent location in a beautiful village. Good breakfast and very helpful and hard working waiting staff.

Review 90:No shelf in bathroom for placing essentials

Review 91:High standard of premises, staff and accomodation. This is an up market place in a superb setting

Review 92:Location was great in the main street right by the historic Yarn Market 'shed'. Parking was easy as we arrived fairly early. We didn't dine here but the breakfast was good, well served and the bacon was the best cooked of all our stays in UK so far. Staff were helpful and friendly and service was very good.

Review 93:Just really friendly chap on reception ...... couldn't have been more helpful as had to get away early ........ great room, didn't try food but looked and smelt fantastic

Review 94:i can honestly say there was nothing i could be detrimental about

Review 95:being disabled the staff were fantastic. There was a small lift so i only had to manoevre a couple of steps.

Review 96:I did think it was overpriced as the bed was not that comfortable and not that keen on the linens used. Also could not use the shower as it kept going from hot to cold. Sad to give a bad review as staff were good but have stayed in many hotels and think this is definitely overpriced.

Review 97:Location was great as at a wedding close by and a lovely town.

Review 98:The staff made a mess of my breakfast . I waited 30 mins and it wasn't even ordered and I wouldn't mind only I was only person in restaurant and theyvhad two waitresses on. If I didn't ask why the delay I'd still be waiting.

Review 99:I thought the room was a bit overpriced for effectively, 20 hours. I have no problem paying £160 for a room, but i just felt it wasn't special enough to justify this price. I didn't like all the road noise, or the constant floorboard creaking & noise from the room above. Finally, there was no evening meal available at the hotel, apart from a 7 course banquet, so we had to drive for miles to find somewhere to eat.

Review 100:The room was clean, warm & characterful in a lovely old building, which was full of interest. The facilities were exactly what you would have expected in a hotel room in this day & age. A very nice breakfast was on offer.

Review 101:The position of the hotel is superb, & we overlooked the charming yarn market, all lit up at night. Staff were very kind & welcoming. We appreciated being up graded to a room on the first floor, as my husband is presently suffering & could not have coped with the daily climb up flights of stairs! We loved our short stay & will return!

Review 102:poor reception area. felt the hotel was lacking a nice bar area and no atmosphere. certainly not worth £140 we paid for a double room when we could have a 4 poster bed room near by for the same money. rooms very dated needs updating. alot of doors and stairs everywhere, confusing where to go.

Review 103:staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good indeed. situation was very nice especially at night with the Yarn Market lit up. the shops are all lovely and the main street very pretty.

Review 104:No elevator for invalid access to rooms meant climbing stairs was difficult. However, free cancellation of 2nd night was considerate.

Review 105:Central location. Friendly staff.

Review 106:Indifferent greeting having stayed two weeks previously No bottled water in room (unlike previous stay) Precooked breakfast Buffet limited selection Over-priced

Review 107:Position

Review 108:Rooms quite expensive

Review 109:Friendly, helpful staff Comfortable rooms with character Twin rooms - good if you have kids Breakfast - variety and quality Location - quiet, peaceful

Review 110:We were lucky with parking but others may not be. For an older couple the walk from the pay and display car park with luggage may be a struggle. Breakfast was only Good, it could have better.

Review 111:The location of the hotel and the quality of the room. The staff were also most friendly.

Review 112:Nothing that I can think of.

Review 113:There's nothing not to like. The hotel is clean, smart, great food and friendly staff. The location is superb on the high street of medieval Dunster and over looked by the awesome castle. My next trip is planned for early October.

Review 114:The high sides of the bath (because at the age of 78 I had a bit of difficulty in getting out of the bath, with the glass shower fixtures also restricting movement somewhat). The dinner was good, but a bit overpriced, I thought.

Review 115:The very friendly welcome we got. The well-appointed and warm rooms. The comfortable bed. The chairs near the entrance where people could wait for others. The good breakfasts with wide choice. The efficient staff.

Review 116:Parking outside was a little bit of a lottery but then in a small village with narrow streets you have to expect this. t I understand there was parking available at a public car park with a voucher to cover costs.

Review 117:Nice hotel in historic coastal village with its own castle just down the road, staff were good and attentive, restaurant had a good menu with choices to suit all tastes. Room was comfortable and quiet.

Review 118:no conditioer

Review 119:comfort, home like conditions

Review 120:Fantastic location in Dunster, excellent stay, stayed before and will return.

Review 121:Upgrade to a more spacious room with bath, as a shower was not to our liking, with no extra charge.
