Reviews for Cornerstones Bed and Breakfast

Review 1:Bit surprised at being asked to remove shoes at bottom of stairs.

Review 2:The room was lovely and comfortable the bathroom was fantastic.Food excellent, river views.

Review 3:One of the nicest places we have stayed. Great value for money, we stayed in the suite which had a living room, bed room, bathroom and kitchen along with our own private garden backing onto a river! So nice and clean!

Review 4:Stayed a Friday and Saturday night and was awoken both nights for a long period as the pub emptied out opposite! Very noisy shouting etc

Review 5:Lovely apartment with perfect breakfasts!!!

Review 6:They only negative was that there was a pile of dust behind the bedside table in the room with the large bathroom. I didn't get a chance to inform the owner prior to leaving.

Review 7:Location overlooking the river dee very relaxing.

Review 8:My only issue was that the plastic sheet on the bed mattress / pillows left me feeling very hot in the night. I awoke in a bath of persipiration. I appreciate the need to keep mattresses etc clean, but perhaps something else of another quality could be found to do the job as well

Review 9:I had no particular problems with anything at all. The access to the main shopping area was a plus and because of the location of the house, it was out of the wayof a potentially noisy area. The lady who met me couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfast was excellent and I would stay again.

Review 10:Stairs down to kitchen are very safe but tricky need to be pointed out in case people have physical difficultiesTo find a Gem

Review 11:A good space and time for a relaxed breakfast lovely summer house to sit in if weather is a bit wet secret garden view of river magical !

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:Everything was imaculate. It had everything you needed they thought about everything. Downstairs and upstairs had very good facilities. Dishwasher, microwave, oven, etc. Breakfast was beautiful and plenty of it. Would definitely stay again and for longer.

Review 14:The friendly welcome and the fabulous house where everything was in place to make us feel comfortable. A local restaurant was recommended and booked for us by the staff. A free parking permit was supplied for the local car park, which they pay for.

Review 15:Glass cafetier pot was chipped and corkscrew didn't work very well. Wet floor in shower was not very well designed and we had to remove most of the contents of the bathroom when taking a shower. Two of the DVD's were badley sctratched and unreadable. A bit pricey for the level of comfort.

Review 16:The friendly staff were always available to help with any issues. An interesting and quirky building. Close to everything in town. With a view of the Dee River out back.

Review 17:We stayed 2 nights in The Suite, it was home from home with everything that you require for a short break. The location was perfect right in the centre of town and overlooking the river Dee. Breakfast was delightful and brought to us within about 15 minutes of us ringing. Will certainly return.

Review 18:finding a car parking place was the only slight inconvenience, had to go from one to another about four or five times before finding an empty space, would advise getting there earlier if possible.

Review 19:location was ideal, accommodation warm clean and cosy. once checked in was left to enjoy our stay, nice breakfast very clean property, would certainly stay again.

Review 20:No internet coverage in bedroom. Car parking 300mts away in public car park. Noise from river rapids very loud in room. Desk in bathroom, which was larger than bedroom. No-one in B&B to open up for us at arrival time at agreed time, phone no.on window

Review 21:close to town

Review 22:Stairs down to kitchen and garden are a bit steep so need to be careful, but they are well lit and have hand rails.

Review 23:we stayed in The Suite which exceeded our expectations. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. There were many thoughtful little touches. It was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the river Dee.

Review 24:Having to take off your shoes downstairs before going to your room with signs on the stairs reminding you.

Review 25:Room was really nicely decorated, but a bit cramped. Little extras made this very welcoming.

Review 26:Bathroom a bit far from bedroom, the access included tight stairway. Breakfasts cooked to order took a bit longer than expected, then eating alone in the accommodation was strange. Poor O2 reception. All the above wouldn't put me off going back, it was great.

Review 27:I had a cottage to myself. Sooo much room, lounge/kitchen with TV, bathroom, toilet, bedroom with TV. The staff were so polite and helpful. A delicious breakfast with plenty of choice. Right in town but not noisy, a great couple of nights. I'll be back.

Review 28:Having to leave!

Review 29:Cornerstones B & B is beautifully run by Carol whose attention to extra detail is amazing. We had the "big bath" room which was such a luxury with a big bath as the centre piece of the room overlooking the Dee River. Breakfast was excellent and if you don't stay here when you are in Llangollen, you will be missing a special place.

Review 30:We stayed in The Suite which has a lounge, bedroom, shower room, dining kitchen and a beautiful private garden with a summer house and patio overlooking the river. Everything about the place was wonderful and the breakfasts were cooked to perfection. It was lovely to lie in bed at night and doze off to the sound of the river rushing by. Stunning accommodation and highly recommended!

Review 31:Cant think of a single thing

Review 32:The attention to detail, and special touches like the sherry and dish of sweets.amazing breakfast all local and fresh, loved the river views from the garden and bedroom window.Great place to stay and will be returning soon.

Review 33:Only a minor criticism was the towels - mismatch of colour I personally like white towels, other than that lovely.

Review 34:Location Bedroom & fab Bathroom Breakfast Overall great attention to detail

Review 35:The bed we had was not that comfortable. It dips in the middle. I think the b&b should invest in a new mattress. Everything was wonderful apart from this and when you pay £120 a night you expect a comfortable sleep.

Review 36:Lovely stay at Cornerstones, fantastic staff, facilities, location and river view. Breakfast was outstanding. Worth the £120 a night but....

Review 37:Nothing.

Review 38:The whole set-up and concept is excellent and luxurious. Lounge area comfortable, the bed comfort to die for. These alone would have given an excellent rating. But go down the (very steep) stairs to the lower level and you have a fully fitted luxury kitchen where the top notch breakfast is served. If that were not enough, outside, the long private garden runs down to the steep banks of the River Dee where a shady gazebo, table and chairs is perfect for sitting out over the river. And if it is too chill to sit out, there is also a beautiful summer house with overstuffed arm chairs and a matching settee. Truly memorable and brilliant. Note: people with walking problems will struggle down to the garden - wheelchairs won't make it

Review 39:The apartment at the Cornerstone was ideal. View out the bedroom window of the River Dee and the sound of the river during the night was a bonus. Great bed, great breakfast, clean and spacious rooms with several little touches that made it a cut above the rest. Location was also excellent with an easy walk to dining and canal rides. Loved it.

Review 48:Carol couldn't have been more helpful & welcoming. Room was wonderful & the breakfast was perfect.

Review 72:Everything was perfect

Review 73:Everything

Review 74:Pretty much everything !

Review 75:The staff was very helpful and informative about the local area. Food was great.

Review 76:This B and B is in the heart of the town with lots of cha rector and welcoming hosts.

Review 77:The view and sound of the river, the attention to details central location

Review 78:nothing

Review 79:the quality of this was exceptional ,with loads of atmosphere & excellent breakfast & extras. A treat

Review 80:Everything was a delight. A real home from home

Review 81:There was nothing we didn't like about Cornerstones!

Review 82:We will definitely stay here again - the rooms are gorgeous, the breakfast lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful - and on top of that the location was fantastic, right in the middle of everything!

Review 83:Tripswitch turned all the room sockets off during the night that meant until a call to the management we couldn't use kettle, reading lights and fridge was off so no early morning tea. Found half a twix bar in one of the drawers.

Review 84:Breakfasts were excellent. A couple of problems were sorted out quickly and efficiently.

Review 85:The mattress was low average, certainly poor for 5 star. Pillows hard, not feather. No hot water, twice, once understandable due to repair, but to occur a second time the same night was not, very disappointing, so no lovely hot bath for tired me. The hostess was lovely, warm and very nice, but the young staff not very helpful. Breakfast needed to be ordered 30 min beforehand, 'to be ready when you come down' and took another 30 min to arrive, so why order early?

Review 86:Many things, the warm fire, beautiful candles lit, and many special touches everywhere.

Review 87:the published wi-fi was not available during the stay. As we had no mobile phone connection either then we had to leave the building to contact family and frieds

Review 88:the surprise to see the size of the suite and the fact we effectley had a 'front door' key from the street. Also the attentive service of the staff made us feel special. For the daily price which included a full breakfast was definately value for money.

Review 89:We loved our break at Cornerstones the lovely cosy lounge with a log burner that was lit at night all the old timber on show. The room was perfect clean and tidy lots of extras like a bottle opener and bath robes razor and shaving foam. The cooked breakfast was lovely will be booking again in the near future its a lovely place built in the 16.00s and still has a lot of its features

Review 90:Everything! It was just perfect. All the little extras from a razor and shaving foam in your room to the free sherry in the lounge! The Oak room was superb, comfy, and head everything! Perfect location right in the centre, but quite.

Review 91:Don't agree with the 5star rating. Lovely town house but not plush or high spec.

Review 92:Location was great. Extras were nice, like the biscuits, bath cream and moisturiser. Staff pleasant.

Review 93:Friendly, welcoming and every little thing thought of. So many lovely personal touches including chocs for valentines, wine cooler and glasses and complimentary welsh cakes and sherry. A beautiful, well run guest house.

Review 94:An amazing place to stay, the tern B&B does not do it justice! Luxurious surroundings & the best breakfast I have had in a hotel for a long time. You won't be disappointed.

Review 95:There was nothing about it that we didn't like. Would highly recommend.

Review 96:The guest house was right in the middle of the main street right next to excellent restaurants. The atmosphere was very cosy with a first rate breakfast. Would stay again!

Review 97:It is a very beautiful place to stay , we stayed in the luxury suit with roll top bath in looking over the river dee it was overall a stunning place to stay and will be returning

Review 98:Bedroom was a little on the small size. Personal thing - I'd of preferred a normal shower to the wet room.

Review 99:Excellent comfy bed, clean, quiet, central location, decent sized TV's, perfect room temperatures (in November).

Review 100:Had to ring ahead for breakfast. Cooked food seemed pre cooked/kept hot. Staff pleasant but a bit remote.

Review 101:The bathroom was luxurious, bigger than the bedroom. Bed soooo comfortable.

Review 102:Little bit expensive.

Review 103:Lovely Breakfast and comfy bed, great view of the River.

Review 104:Coudn't fault our stay

Review 105:Had to pay cash otherwise it would have cost more than the price quoted. We were not told this by the b&b or booking.com beforehand.

Review 106:Living quarters above quite loud. breakfast would have liked more choice for my money, eg eggs benedict, pancakes, smoked salmon.
