Reviews for Geufron Hall Bed and Breakfast
Review 1:We loved the room and all the little extras, such as the fresh milk and local shampoo. Beth made us feel very welcome and the breakfast was the best breakfast we had during our stay in Wales! Everything was fresh and homegrown! We would love to stay here again and have been recommending it to friends and family.
Review 2:Geufron Hall is in the most beautiful setting, Beth, the host , made us feel very welcome. The facilities are second to none, nothing is forgotten, the conservatory with log burner has amazing views. The breakfast was superb with homemade sausages and local produce It was my first stay in Llangollen after I left when I was 18 in 1977, I would recommend Geufron to anyone, it is worth every one of its 5 stars!
Review 3:Wonderful location, warm and friendly welcome, clean and comfortable room. Oh and a magnificent breakfast to boot. Hands down the best B&b I've stayed in.
Review 4:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 5:The owners were such nice, helpful people. The room so very clean and comfortable and wonderful views of the countryside. Breakfast was freshly cooked with fresh ingredients and was delicious. We would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet stay away from the crowds. Thank you Beth and Carlton x
Review 6:Wonderful location - great views. Very comfortable room- we had large bathroom which was very clean. Breakfasts lovely and they also provide good light supper if requested. They also have licence for alcohol. Beth - our main host was welcoming and kind-ready with advice on local attractions or good local restaurants.
Review 7:Lovely B&B, beautiful décor. Environmental and social conscious products and ethos. Very good food and offer of food such as packed lunches and supper. Home made preserves etc.
Review 8:Difficult to find anything we didn't like.
Review 9:Very relaxing and quiet, lovely room, great breakfasts, the owners go to a lot of trouble to make the stay as good as it can be. Ticked every box for us.
Review 10:We had to leave!
Review 11:A great place to relax. We'd been in the go for a couple of days and it was great to became to relax in the gayest lounge, enjoy a bowl of soup, have a glass of wine along with some cheese and play jazz via the iPhone through the IPod player.
Review 12:Delicious breakfast and especially those smoothies. The view from our bedroom was spectacular. Beth made us welcome immediately with her gorgeous Welsh cakes!
Review 13:Beth is an attentive but unobtrusive hostess, and Carlton cooks an excellent breakfast. The property is an eclectic mix of 19th century style and 60s chic, tastefully decorated throughout. The Llantysilio room has a very comfortable bed, 2 comfy chairs and a wardrobe, along with a large bathroom with separate shower cubicle. Fresh milk, tea, instant and ground coffee, a cafetière, a bottle of water as well as superb home made biscuits were much appreciated touches. The breakfast included home made granola, jam, marmalade and fruit smoothies as well as sausages and bacon from their own pigs. We were even able to toast our own slices/doorsteps of fresh bread. Marvellous.
Review 14:Don't get the shampoo in your eyes!
Review 15:The location is excellent for people walking in the area. The breakfast was very good and supper and packed lunches are available if required. I was pleased that my dietary requirements were catered for. The rooms have great views over Llangollen.
Review 16:There was not one thing that we would have changed in our stay - other than it should have been longer than one night! The price was very fair for what was provided and the amazing accommodation, but this was a really luxury treat for us.
Review 17:The location was wonderful. It was lovely to have a room in a B&B that was private, secluded and en-suite. The terrace was a lovely touch with incredible views. Beth and Carlton were so friendly and helpful and my husband particularly liked the complimentary welsh cakes.
Review 18:Very warm welcome, beautiful location with spectacular views and an excellent bed and breakfast. Beautiful building, excellent room and delicious breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble for Beth the owner to make our stay enjoyable and very memorable. We would lhighly recommend so we hope it is not booked up when we want to go again.
Review 19:Nothing!
Review 20:Everything about this hotel is wonderful, our room had the most fantastic view and was beautifully furnished. The bed was large and very comfy. We had home-made shortbreads provided in our room which were delightful. Our hosts could not be more helpful and very friendly. The breakfast had an excellent choice and was very well made. The location is beautiful and so peaceful we just relaxed immediately. Definitely the place to stay in Llangollen!
Review 21:Nothing
Review 22:Very warm welcome from Beth who served tea and cake in the conservatory, which has a wonderful 'alpine' view. Would not hesitate to recommend / stay here again.
Review 23:That we only stayed one night, it would be perfect for a longer break.
Review 24:The homemade granola was delicious...in fact all the food was delicious. Plus our Dad managed to get in on the action when we arrived and was made very welcome and offered tea and welsh cakes. The view from the conservatory was gorgeous even in the rain. The smellies are lovely, the wood burner was cosy. The view from bed was right across the valley.
Review 25:nothing
Review 26:really liked all the homemade food, breakfast was excellent. beautiful views, spacious rooms, gorgeous lounge with logburner to relax in. Beth and Carlton couldn't have been more willing to assist to make our stay comfortable without feeling intrusive.
Review 27:we didn't say long enough.
Review 28:The location is lovely with views to die for, the welcome was the best we have ever received, with complimentary welsh cakes and tea on arrival, we were treated like old friends not like the first time we have ever met, Beth and Carlton even offered to drive us down in to town to eat, but we opted for the light supper in the conservatory, the room was spotlessly clean with tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits, and next morning a very extensive breakfast menu and a full welsh breakfast cooked to perfection.
Review 29:•we were made to feel very welcome •wonderful location •great breakfast •really comfortable and no effort was spared in providing for all our needs
Review 30:Location was amazing , the owners are so welcoming and obviously love sharing their beautiful home. The food is first class and we highly recommend you have something to eat off the supper menu. All is homemade and locally sourced foods. Crisp white bed linen and fluffy white towels, warm comfortable bed.We will definitely return.
Review 31:Nothing as it was a perfect place to stay.
Review 32:Everything - it was all lovely - beautiful house, fantastic décor, warm and very comfortable on a cold winter night. It is exceptionally good and I will be looking for reasons to return!
Review 33:This is probably the most welcoming and nicest B&B we've ever stayed in (and it has some stiff competition). There was rather a lot of snow on Boxing Day and although Guefron Hall is only a very short drive from Llangollen centre it's up hill and my car doesn't do well in snow so we had to leave it at the bottom and the lovely owners fetched us and our bags. We were going to walk back for dinner but our hosts insisted on giving us a lift to and from the centre which was most welcome as were the lit stove, tea and amazing Welsh cakes on our arrival. Breakfast by the open fire was lovely too. It was all superb and the house is beautifully kept and everything we ate seemed to be home made. We rarely go to the same place twice, but I expect we'll be back here.
Review 34:Nothing! Cannot think of one single negative!
Review 35:Everything! Great location, beautiful house, very friendly & welcoming. I would highly recommend Geufron Hall. I don't normally write reviews but really wanted to spread the word about this fantastic place.
Review 36:Excellent b&b room was fantastic views down the valley towards Llangollen tea/ coffee WiFi good selection of books. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice on the menu. Made to feel really welcome
Review 37:There was nothing to dislike. If I was there for more than, say a weekend, a bigger room would be nice. Single room a bit confined, but most single travellers are used to not getting the grandet of rooms.
Review 38:The whole ambience and feel was great, being left alone for me was good, I don't like fuss! The location is brilliant, but I failed to read the advice re not following Sat Nav so I ended up going up steep narrow tracks to no avail. My fault. Go to this B&B, you'll not be disappointed
Review 39:A warm welcome, fantastic hosts, the rooms were beautiful with fantastic views and some lovely final touches like home made biscuits in the room. The breakfast was excellent worthy of a 5* rating An absolute gem of a place.
Review 40:Nothing.
Review 41:Beth and Carlton so friendly. Served tea and Welsh cakes upon arrival. Beautiful conservatory with view of fields of sheep. Shower modern. Very comfy bed. Homemade cookies in room. Breakfast had lots of homemade items by Beth. Just so welcoming. Town a close walk. Great stay!
Review 42:Beth was ready willing and able at the drop of a hat They had left no detail out in making a home away from home An absolute treat for either first timers or return travellers
Review 43:I wish I had managed to have more holidays to spend in the peaceful splendour of Geufron Hall. The rooms were fabulous and the view over the valley amazing even in the mist. Wasy to get to from town and Beth gave us a fabulous recommendation for dinner too. Will stay again without hesitation
Review 44:Had a fantastic weekend. Lovely room with views to die for. Perfectly clean everything we needed. Breakfast superb. No complaints whatsoever and will definitely be returning
Review 45:Made to feel really welcome - nothing was too much trouble. Drinks and welsh cakes on arrival were wonderful and, just as we thought we could do with another cup of coffee, there was Carlton offering us another!! Our very thoughts were anticipated! The breakfast was so fresh with loads of choice and flexibility. Try the Laverbread - you are in Wales after all! Our room was wonderfully decorated with truly retro furniture and the views.... wonderful. My brother's single room was a little tight for space but clean, modern, incredibly well appointed and very comfy bed and does a small bedroom matter when there is a wonderful conservatory, terraces and gardens for guests to enjoy. Will definitely go again!
Review 46:Away from the town but still close enough to use town facilities. Warm welcome and good initial tour of the B&B. It felt like we were personal 'house guests' with access to all the home comforts - including honesty bar. Our host was very attentive when we wanted attention and otherwise left us in peace. The bedroom had space to move around and a wonderful view across the valley that we could enjoy from the first cuppa in bed in the morning through to nightfall. The bedroom is fitted-out to a very high, modern standard and then is given a 'country house' feel with quality old furniture as well. The food at breakfast was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the home-laid eggs and vine tomatoes with balsamic sauce. There are places in the grounds to sit quietly and easy access to local paths. Overall, just like it appeared on the website, only better.
Review 47:We did not dislike anything.
Review 48:Style & comfort of bedrooms; Other guest rooms, e.g. lounge & dining area; Friendliness & helpfulness of hosts; Food & drink - the breakfast was excellent! Quiet location but close to Llangollen town centre (short drive or 15min walk)
Review 49:The long uphill walk back to the house is not for the fainthearted! More breakfast choice would be nice, sausage, hash browns, or kippers for example. Rather more expensive than other local b&b's with similar features.
Review 50:The lovely fresh air, excellent views and we were made to feel very welcome by Beth and Carlton, with nothing being too much trouble. The very comfortable bedroom was excellent.
Review 51:No Complaints !
Review 52:Beth was a Wonderful Host, not in your face, but there when you needed her. Lovely property, so close to Town and yet so peaceful and relaxed. Her Family is lovely also. Breakfast, very Good ! Great walks from the Property as well.
Review 53:Glorious location and friendly welcome. Beth and Carlton have made this a stylish, comfortable and class leading B and B. They seem to know exactly what discerning travellers want. It's no wonder we and others I am sure will want to go back again and again.

Review 96:Excellent location with outside private patio area.....Lovely!
Review 97:The little shelf above the sink in the bathroom, we both repeatedly banged our heads on it when brushing teeth or cleaning face.
Review 98:Made extremely welcome on arrival, pot of tea and warm homemade welsh cakes made us feel special. Breakfast was very tasty, good ingredients and plenty of choice. Homemade biscuits in room. Room was decorated nicely, cleanliness superb and a lovely shower in the bathroom. My dad and I were on a stag weekend so having separate access to our bedroom was a great advantage when coming back late! Lovely picturesque surroundings. Staff attentive, makes you feel a part of their lovely home. Advice much appreciated regarding where to dine and they even booked our table for us :).
Review 99:The friendly welcome and helpfulness of Beth and Carlton - nothing was too much trouble and their attention to detail was second to none. The breakfast was exceptional and very filling. Rooms are spacious, well furnished and very comfortable. You are made to feel very "at home" here without having to do all the work - well done!
Review 100:There was nothing to dislike about this B&B.
Review 101:This is an outstanding B&B. The spacious, well-appointed room, with private patio, combined with a spectacular outlook over Llangollen make this the must-stay B&B for the area. The breakfast offering was of exceptional quality and the friendly and helpful owners ensured that this was a memorable stay.
Review 102:The decor of the B&B is so homely and quirky, keeping a very local theme with the photos. Really take care of their guests, 110%. Views of the garden and the surrounding scenery are beautiful and the breakfast is the best I have had so far in any hotel or B&B. Incredibly clean, and so enjoyed my wonderful shower after a day on the hills. A true gem, will always stay here when in Wales.
