Reviews for Wulfrun Hotel
Review 1:No windows in rooms. No phone coverage but they do have wifi. Smells badly of damp. I didn't use all the clothes in my case but I had to wash all of them as the smell of damp from the hotel was on them. We booked for one week and not once did we receive fresh towels or toilet roll. We slept 2nites in the hotel and opted to stay with a friend the rest of the week. we left our case in the hotel as they have a no refund policy and grabbed clothes through the week as we needed them. They emptied the bin in the room once and they also lifted a bag that was not near the bin containing small items like hairspray, sweets and a magazine.
Review 2:The location
Review 3:nothinkI didn't like nothink couldn't check in as no one answer the call the have been left outside waiting for stuff which never show up after seeing me and at the end I book diffrent hotel and lost all of my money, rude guy on the phone I think it's a scam.

Review 8:The photos of the room was not the one i got very small hard bed had to use a shared shower toilet room plus was kept awake till 3/4 in the morning with music plus other guests
Review 9:Leaving
Review 10:Only thing was the entrance of the hotel looked like a building site and the man who greeted us wasn't poliet. Also as the bedrooms are in a basement it has a smell of damp which wasn't extreme.
Review 11:The location is great and so is the price, get what you pay. The bedrooms were lovely and clean and so was the bathrooms. The previous reviews are no longer in date with the hotel.
Review 12:there is reburb work going on atm which we had no idea about also the room look absolutely nothing like what i saw in the pictures but having said all of that i paid £35 so not wanting to make a big deal of it if would of paid more i would not of been happy though
Review 13:the fact the city center was right on the doorstep
Review 14:Entrance, no lobby reception the shop around the corner is your point of contact!! Very weird! Room was tiny but comfortable bed. The shower room was across the corridor but I believe only we used it and was of good quality and clean. The fire alarm OMG was extremely loud and was set off by all accounts by a client at 8 am ?!? We left at 11 am after being asked at 10:30 what time we were leaving?? Check out is at 10!! Too early if you have been out on the raz like we were the night before and woken up at 8 by the horrendous noise of the fire alarm. Apparently there is a nightclub next door but we didn't hear it probably as we were too drunk??
Review 15:Location for us was great and car park next door (payable - and pay straight away over the phone as we got a parking ticket as we waited to do it after checking in and they had been in the meantime to check!)
Review 16:the room was too small, toilet and shower not on suite, didn't like being in basement at all, it was smelly and damp. felt very claustrophobic as very tiny window. only one bedside table, expensive to park car overnight
Review 17:pleasant young man, comfy bed. nice and warm in room. near to town.
Review 18:Room was in a basement with strict instructions not to go upstairs! Nowindows, damp and dank!! Someone will get ill from staying here! Wedidn't actually stay. Left in disgust!! Booked in Novotel at morethan twice the price but a million times the comfort.
Review 19:Nothing!!!
Review 20:No mirror in room , shower doors didn't close properly water was scalding too, dingy room , guy what greeted us couldn't wait to get us into room so he could get back to what he was doing .
Review 21:Right next to theatre Right in town
Review 22:Smelt real bad, wardrobe broken, half the building seemed stripped to pieces and under constructions. Check out is in the off license next door no staff present in the hotel.
Review 23:No reception - under refurbishment, odd entrance in the hotel. Room number 3 basement, no window, no ventilation, humid. No new soap or shower gel. Bottles almost empty No
Review 24:Respectful, polite member of staff
Review 25:absolute waste of my time and money it got to the point where i was being told to wait for ages for a manager and by the time they bothered to show up to deal with an issue they started up. avoid
Review 26:The fact there isn't really a reception so you can actually try and claim your money back for this disgusting hotel
Review 27:I like the bit when I packed my bags and left because the damp air black pubic hairs on the bed were to lovely for me
Review 28:Where to start, the shower in the bathroom leaked if the water hit the sides of the shower, which while the water is warming up is bound to happen, the extraction fan turns off with the lights which leaves a damp smell in the bathroom as the lights are automatic. If you're not used to noise then you're not going to get much sleep at all in the Wulfrun as your room is right next to a busy road and a tattoo parlor so be prepared to be woken by traffic or the sound of the needles. Lastly the staff, they had the minimum amount of conversation possible with me when I checked in, literally just showed me how to get to my room and gave me the keys. When it got to checking out I couldn't have been more appalled at the way they got me to leave. At around 9:30, 30 minutes before check out time there was a knock on the door that woke me up, that was fair enough however what came after was not, around 10 minutes later they set the smoke alarm off and came charging down the stairs to ask if I smoked in the room and if the light was red on the alarm, after I said no to both things and informed him that I'd only just woken up he said "Well 10 o'clock is checking out so you need to leave." I've never in my life felt so disgruntled at service anywhere let alone a hotel where you pay a good amount to stay.
Review 29:The only good thing I have to say about the Wulfrun was it's location, right in the centre of town.
Review 30:A lot of the same problems as others: No ensuite - The bathroom is actually outside in the hallway for all rooms. Room 1 and 2 get loads of loud noise from the bus station. Rooms 2&3 get nightclub noises and smell of damp and mould. No bathmat so tiled floor is dangerously slippery. No toiletries, mirror, hangers, desk, chair. No visits from staff to clean room or refresh towel.
Review 31:It was in the centre of town where I needed to be for the first visit for 4 nights. One staffer who was polite, but then, I never asked for anything. It was clean
Review 32:Basement room with no windows. Although the room was not damp the smell of damp permeated the walls/furniture and bedding. Felt cold in the rooms, there were radiators but this would have made them sweat boxes.
Review 33:Close to venue and train station. The rooms were newly decorated and clean. This is work in progress.
Review 34:I didn't like having my bathroom & toilet outside although it was beside the room. Noise from outside as the hotel is beside the bus station.
Review 35:Size of room, very spacious. Good storage and size bed. Tv was a plus too!
Review 36:Room was in the cellar and the hallway and room smelled like a cellar No window and therefore quite stuffy room by morning
Review 37:shower and toilet very good, clean bed and comfy mattress
Review 38:"Free" Wi-Fi signal was poor and couldn't connect to internet. No phone signal in Room 2 where we stayed. T.V signal was intermittent and screen kept freezing. Shower wasn't located in the room so had to go out of the room to our shower and other people were walking about. clothes left hanging on back of door felt damp in the morning.
Review 39:locality
Review 40:The room was damp, constantly wet and bedding was wet. The hotel had no parking and was right next to a night club. Theres a bus sation right outside. Staff was rude. Room was basic even tho paid for luxury room only had one towel even tho booked for two people and two people. The facilities wasnt in the room.
Review 41:Nothing
Review 42:bloody wierd no coffee making things in room (we dont have those facilies we were told, no food (breakfast) we dont do it.
Review 43:it was quiet and clean. it was clean and quiet. we were below ground level
Review 44:All the rooms where basement rooms which was not explained to us whenbooking. There was one man at the hotel on arrival to let us in and gaveus our keys then disappeared, we did not see any staff again throughoutour stay. The rooms where clean and tidy how ever there was a strongsewage smell and two of the three rooms had exposed drain covers. Thelights in the bathrooms where on a sensor which could not detect you inthe shower and switched off, leaving you in complete pitch blackdarkness!! The hotel is situated next and attached to a nightclub! Twoof the rooms where against the adjoining wall and a door to thenightclub, this was extremely noisy making it difficult to sleep. Thenoise continued into the night finishing off with the people loudlyleaving the club at 3am!! The door to the hotel was very difficult toopen from the outside. Overall after a uncomfortable and sleepless nightwe where all very disappointed with this hotel! It is unacceptable to bedirectly linked to a busy nightclub. One wall between the two does notblock out the loud noise! The sewage smells need to be addressed as dothe lights in the bathrooms which could be very dangerous. The lack ofstaff was also unacceptable as there was no one around to direct anyenquiries too. Very unhappy with our stay in this hotel!
Review 45:When I just came in, it was not clear where to go. First floor was under conscruction, but without any signs on it, so on first glance the whole hotel looked like hole. However, I've managed to find some stuff guy, which led me in good part of this hotel, and it was fine.
Review 46:The dirty disgusting entrance. The dirty disgusting cushion placed onbed. The lumpy mattress, the permanent green glare of the emergencylight on ceiling, no signal for a lot of t v channels. Paid for 2nights, left 1/2 way through 1st. Was told shared bathroom acrosscorridor "WAS an ENSUITE" `cos no one else staying !!! ???
Review 47:The staff are ignorant, not very helpful, the room was damp and cold, a bad dampness smell, bedding was wet through, asked for new bedding within 20 minutes was all we through again due to dampness in the room.
Review 48:The room was in the basement, only three feet wider than the bed, notable, desk or chairs, no airflow (one 6-inch window onto the sidewalk),dirty, "deluxe bathroom" was down the hall and also grimy.Maybe other rooms are ok, but we were told there were no othersavailable. The entryway and office were dirty, up narrow stairs, had tobe buzzed to enter. Nothing to recommend it at all! We immediately wentelsewhere, much better for the same price.
Review 49:The receptionist was not rude but not helpful
Review 50:The bedroom smelt of marijuana and the bed linen was dirty. Bathroom was also dirty and no hand soap was provided. The fire alarm went twice in the night and no staff came to check or explain the situation. I left the "hotel" because I did not feel safe.
Review 51:Location.
Review 52:Room was underground, small window causing all street noise to be heard. Room was very stuffy. Bathroom was external to bedroom, short distance away but inconvinient if you want privacy. No parking available, however advised by hotel to park down the road in an expensive pay and display. Upon arrival no one was available to check in, after making a call then someone was sent to us. Some construction taking place on other side off hotel which was off putting.
Review 53:The room was decorated with decent furniture and TV.
Review 54:The room marketed as delux had no window, air con or even tea and coffee making facilities... Pillows were discussingly dirty inside the pillowcases, my girlfriend got insect bites and the room was unbearably hot
Review 55:Very close to bus and train station's. That really is it....
Review 56:The hotel was in full refurbishment, I walked into a place not suitable to host guests. I was placed in the basement, the room smelt funny, stuffy and stank of paint still. No Wi-Fi was provided and I didn't get the en-suite room (which I paid for). The room was incredibly small, just a tiny bit larger than the bed and not one single mirror around.
Review 57:Close to where I needed to go to work.
Review 58:-The alarm went off every 2-3 hours during the night -There are no instructions regarding what to do in case of fire (I noticed when the alarm went off)
Review 59:-I haven't been to Wolverhampton for a long time, so being near the train station was useful for me -Room was in the basement so didn't hear anything from bus station across the road -The hotel is being refurbished, and if the other rooms are like mine was then I would consider staying again
Review 60:Well the staff not great. The guy that booked us in was fine, but we were getting ready to leave as check out said 10-11. So at 10 thought we better get going when someone knocked on the door and asked if we were leaving. Maybe they should make it clear when checking in that u have to be gone by 10
Review 61:Room was nice and clean, small but nice
Review 62:A DELUXE Double room with shower - a guest would expect the shower to be in the same room as the bed, not on the corridor! A piece of advice - sell things for what they are or you will find guests who might have real issue with that. Also, if in the confirmation you give 10-11 am estimate check out time, I would appreciate if you respected that. Being told at 10.15 pm I have to leave isn't what i call "treating your guests with respects and care".
Review 63:The owner warm welcome (he did explain they had only taken over this hostel two weeks before and they were refurbishing it all)
