Reviews for Cambrian House
Review 1:Some traffic noise from the main road outside (but it isn't a very busy road so not too bad). The en-suite toilet in my room had a noisy Saniflow and the sink and shower were also plumbed into this, oddly. The bathroom didn't seem to have been cleaned since the last guests.
Review 2:Friendly staff and good location near the town centre.
Review 3:The carpets and bathroom could have been cleaner. It all looked good on the surface but not so good when I dropped my phone at the side of the bed and there were hairs around the bathroom that weren't ours.
Review 4:The location is great. Two minutes walk from everything but out of the direct hustle and bustle. Off road parking was also great, the bed was really comfy and breakfast was lovely.
Review 5:Dirty old and tired, needs a good (well a very good) deep clean and a lick of paint.... The décor is 1980's and the carpets are pre 70's. The bed is best suited for a hobbit, I'm used to a double bed, but i am comfortable in a single... but these were more child sized beds, so i had bits hanging out and getting cold. Lets move on to the Barf-room (en-suite) yes I know it spelt wrong, but it was disgusting, we all have personal body hair, I like my own, but not someone else's, as for the toilet with a mind of its own! it was a Saniflo Macerator, and it would go off all through the night at 15 minute intervals, the room was at the front of the building, with the post office sorting office opposite with flood lights which made night look like day! good for them but when the lights beams in to your room that hasn't got black out curtains... well that's when you don't sleep! Complaint was made but in response a shrug!
Review 6:Breakfast
Review 7:No issues.
Review 8:Our room was ready earlier than expected, owner friendly, room had comfy four poster, good position in hotel, secure car park even let us stay in car park after check out which we appreciated so we could make most of the day sightseeing.
Review 9:Bar was too small to use as it was full with only a handful of guests.
Review 10:Very friendly couple running the hotel. Breakfast as stated in other reviews was lovely. Room was quirky but comfortable. We had the family room which was like a separate annex which suited us fine.
Review 11:The place was not clean, we had to clean the shower before use as it looked as though not been cleaned and the room had hairs on carpet disgusting never again
Review 12:Food was excellent
Review 13:Unfortunately our front room although the curtains were heavy they could not block out the street light. Maybe a back room would have been better.
Review 14:Easy to find and centrally located.
Review 15:Noisy guest in room next door. Room shabby and little dirty - especially bathroom and very old tired quilt on bed - I felt the room was somewhat overpriced for the quality.
Review 16:Friendly staff - good location. Nice breakfast
Review 17:No complaints whatsoever
Review 18:Very pleasant couple running the place - nothing too much trouble. Very clean and comfortable room. Very nice veggie breakfast. Off road secure parking. Good value
Review 19:We paid for a for a 4 poster bed and a mistake was made and we got the family room but the owners made it right with there alternative
Review 20:The owners were fantastic
Review 21:Lovely people. Excellent breakfast Comfortable bed just like at home. Good position for centre of town when I don`t have transport. Would stay here again.
Review 22:The location near the centre of the town and also the friendliness of the staff. It is ideal for anyone wanting a place to stay in Llangollen for a few days. An excellent breakfast and evening meals available if required. We would stay there again.
Review 23:Room not very clean. Room and en suite very old. We booked two nights and left after one night. On line description stated shared bathroom which 2 phone calls I found was not true
Review 24:Breakfast. Going home
Review 25:Because of the nature of the building the single room was a bit small and cramped. The room was a bit dated, but very clean.
Review 26:The owners were very well informed, observant and always helpful. The restaurant on site was a big plus.....
Review 27:The toilet in the en suite was mechanical and very noisy.the very large bathroom window was clear glass so had to have blind down always.
Review 28:Beautiful dining room. Tasty breakfast.clean and pleasant room.friendly staff.free off road parking.
Review 29:The facilities were outdated .we booked at a price for one night at £52.we were told on leaveing the price was really £84.we were not happy with the unclear price guide for this B and B.we booked for a family room which the hotelier knew was for 2 adults.2 children .
Review 30:The staff were friendly and helpful
Review 31:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 32:I have coeliac disease, and I was catered for with all my food.Nothing was too much trouble.I even had gluten free chips. If you book at this B@B the homemade soup is gorgeous and a must and its gluten free.
Review 33:Property had character but was a bit tired. Could do with sprucing up a little to bring it back to life.
Review 34:Owners were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very tasty and cooked well. Easy to park.
Review 35:On suite in room 1 is a joke, large wardrobe housing a toilet shower cubicle and sink.No pegs to hang any clothes on. When bending over the sink to have a wash one has to leave the sliding wardrobe door open or your bottom is against it,okay if you are four foot three tall.!!
Review 36:Location is in walking distance of the centre of town, and has secure overnight parking, and is a good base for getting out and about North Wales. Would stay again.
Review 37:Carpet not clean, toe nail clippings on the carpet. Advertised evening meal not available although menu available in the room.
Review 38:Owners very nice and helpful. Bedding towels and shower clean.
Review 39:couldn't connect to wifi whilst in our room but was fine when down stairs.
Review 40:Great place to stay, friendly staff, beautiful rooms and in the town so everything was in walking distance.
Review 41:We liked the fact that it was situated very close to all the places we were visiting it was also a very quiet area. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. They recommended some really good places to eat and see.
Review 42:The free Wi-Fi was a problem when it came to connecting up as I had to wait a good 20 minutes for it to read the Wi-Fi on my phone and the only time it really worked was early in the morning.
Review 43:What I liked about the hotel was it was very close to the centre of Llangollen and wasn't too far from the Llangollen railway which was basically around the corner and across the river. Bed was comfortable and the facilities were good aswell.
Review 44:The room seemed a little small as we are used to a large bedroom at home, however we appreciate that it is a Grade 2 listed building and that limits what can be done with it. The TV was on the small side.
Review 45:The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts were plentiful and of excellent quality. The four poster bed was very comfortable and we slept well.
Review 46:Lack of ventilation Property located on main road
Review 47:All as one expects or requires for a night away.....enjoyed breakfast, bed warm and comfortable, shower fast and hot, parking and security good......owners friendly but not over bearing..
Review 48:Proximity to A5 meant some traffic noise. Mechanical water pumps for toilets & showers were noisy - could hear occupants in other rooms using theirs.
Review 49:Comfortable. Convieniently located. Reasonable value. Excellent staff.
Review 50:Nothing to dislike.
Review 51:Ideally situated for my fishing trips and family visits the secure parking, warm welcome and great service ensure a very enjoyable experience all round.
Review 52:Some work had been done on the shower but not cleaned up after. There was plaster on the floor of the bathroom so had to clean the floor with wet toilet paper. The only towel "rail" was a ring for a hand towel so wet shower towels had to be put on a clothes hanger next to the radiator which only came on for about an hour in morning and an hour at night. No heating in the bathroom.
Review 53:Good breakfast.
Review 54:Room is very small, WI-FI works only at reception, our room was facing a road and it was noisy. Bathroom had plenty someone's hair on a floor, TV is very small and old and taking into account that there is no WI-FI, no proper light in the evening to read, no much space in the room itself all we could do when in room is lay down in bed and trying to sleep with road noise outside.
Review 55:This hotel is run by a very lovely couple and breakfast was good.
Review 56:The only down side is that it's on the main A5 road and at times can be noisy, we were at the front of the hotel.
Review 57:Owners very good, parking on site good, nice little place to stay.
Review 58:Noisy water pipes when the people in the next room used their bathroom, noise from road.
Review 59:Room basic but clean, breakfast good, very central, close to pubs and restaurants, friendly owners.
Review 60:decor tatty on landing . we were in a room at the front of the guesthouse which is situated on a very busy A5 ... the first truck trundled through at 4-40 AM , followed by others at regular intervals !!!! I lay clock watching until 6-30 and abandoned all hope of getting any more sleep
Review 61:the staff were friendly . very nice breakfast . clean and tidy .
Review 62:Rather noisy in the early morning due to location on a main road, activity at the Post Office depot opposite and the use saniflow plumbing.
Review 63:Good location (with parking), good breakfast and friendly and attentive owners.
Review 64:Couldn't stay longer x
Review 65:From the minute we arrived we were made to feel relaxed, and that nothing was too much trouble. Very accommodating and at ease. Will definitely be returning x Breakfasts were made to order for hot food, real treat and plenty of. Highly recommend xx
Review 66:We received a warm and friendly welcome on arrival. We had a family room - soon to be given a fresh coat of paint - with comfortable beds and a clean en-suite. At breakfast we were offered a choice of cereals and a cooked English breakfast in any combination. There was a small cosy room with a bar where in the evening, residents were able to enjoy the company of others whilst having an evening drink.
Review 67:Nothing -all good.

Review 71:small tv tiny bar, too pricey for a guest house. room door lock jammed, locking us in. had to calll reception. then ok.
