Reviews for Hôtel Le Coin des Halles

Review 1:The wifi didn't work at all. The bar/restaurant attached to the hotel closed REALLY early - 19.30hrs I think! However, such is life in provincial France in Winter.

Review 2:A two star hotel and no more but clean, efficient and ever-so-slightly cool! (It has some boutique hotel twists, which were quite funky.) Perfect location if visiting Cahors.

Review 3:The niggle; no shelf in the bathroom which seems to happen a lot. It looked as if there was once but it hadn't been replaced.

Review 4:Most convenient situation, right in the centre of the market. We didn't find it at all noisy and we had the window open.

Review 5:Small rooms. Parking tricky have to walk with bags through town.

Review 6:Clean basic rooms. Great location in heart of town. Good food in bar and reasonable price

Review 7:Only luke warm water for shower in the morning approx 09.00hrs. Had to wait till 17.30 hrs for the room to be made ready for occupation ( room 17)

Review 8:location and atmosphere very good , nice restuarant. friendly and helpful staff.. .

Review 9:We arrived on a 32 degree day so quite hot, and no air con in the room. We thought we may have suffered but was actually fine, although hitter weather might prove to be an issue.

Review 10:We stayed in the Rouge Room which was small but very smart. Nicely decorated, had a great vibe. Great little bar downstairs popular with the locals and great atmosphere. We enjoyed our brief stay very much.

Review 11:Because of its very central location it was a little noisy but we were only there for one evening so it did not matter. However, I would not recommend staying for a week if you need lots of rest!

Review 12:Very friendly staff, very helpful. Good clean and comfortable bedrooms. Fun atmosphere in bar. Fantastic location in old part of Cahor, just right for the market on a Saturday morning. Close to fabulous restaurants in the city. Would definitely stay here again for a short break

Review 13:Poor WiFi, but OK in bar and restaurant.

Review 14:Located immedately opposite the indoor town market, we immediately, fell in love with this wonderfully eclectic "boutique" style gem. The facilities are excellent, our room was spacious with a huge en suite. bathroom. Parking available in town square...... but check the times as on market days no overnight parking. Delighted to recommend this unusual hotel.

Review 15:The attitude of the staff is best described in French as 'je m'en fou'. Guests seem to be counted as a nuisance rather than as an asset. Avoid eating there, worst food ever being served in France and staff respond to complaint and returned plates after just a mouthful simply with an annoyed shrug.

Review 16:The centrality of the location within the core of medieval Cahors.

Review 17:So noisy at night from within and outside the hotel. Loud music till 03.00h, people coming and going at all hours of the night, deliveries trolleys pulled over the cobbles outside during the small hours, and metal shutters being opened after that all led to an extremely disturbed night. Also expensive for the standard of room, which was pretty basic.

Review 18:Excellent location in the centre of Cahors. Colour themed rooms.

Review 19:Double room but nowhere to put our stuff!! Good wardrobe but no dressing table or even a chair.Just a low stool (for what purpose?!) and a stand for one small case, with one low shelf. No drawers by bed or anywhere. I have rented out to holiday makers and would be embarrassed at offering such lack of useful storage. Nothing to do with size of room, just not furnished properly. No shelf even for soap in shower. No shelf over basin.Carpet absolutely covered in dirt spots. Please owners, spend 3 nights in this room with suitcases to unpack & see how you get on!! Not enough space to use our cases as storage on the floor even. Windows don't open fully as jam on curtain rail. Self service breakfast offered coffee out of a machine & water not hot so went to a cafe to get fresh croissant and coffee. Owner very grumpy when we arrived although we were on time, room not ready so stored our cases. We were in a group of 4, we do speak French and are very used to French hotels so hope these comments are relevant and fair. You might get a better room!

Review 20:location very good as it was central, but cleaning of the square starts at 5.30 am starting with bin men, then street washing on 2 mornings out of 3 even though market shut. Not fault of hotel of course. We obviously expected normal market noise as had front room. Shower worked well & bed comfortable. Enough hangers in wardrobe, makes a happy change. Room clean but carpet stained. Quite nice own bar on street.

Review 21:Rooms are small and lack some basic creature comforts. Carpets were not clean. Lack of air conditioning was an issue.

Review 22:The location is great Staff were helpful and friendly

Review 23:Creaking floorboards in the hall outside the room.

Review 24:Great location in the old part of the town? Small room but clean, with comfortable bed and good sized and. Dry clean bathroom.

Review 25:It was getting hot in Cahors, even though it was early in June, and the rooms are not air conditioned. We slept with the window open, but that brings noise, and not much relief from the heat.

Review 26:Perfectly adequate room with a nice, clean bathroom. While the staff speak little English, they really make the effort to be helpful, and informative. The elevator is a benefit when you are arriving tired, and hefting the bags up the stairs would be sad. The Wednesday and Saturday markets are right outside your door, so this is a great location for roaming those days. The indoor market is also a great experience, even if you aren't cooking, you can admire the beautiful food and excellent Cahors wine.
