Reviews for The Old Brewhouse
Review 1:Rosie was really friendly and welcoming. The garden was beautiful and the room we stayed in (not attached to the house) was really quiet which was surprising given the proximity to the road. Because the room wasn't attached we felt comfortable coming in late (having attended a wedding) without disturbing anyone.
Review 2:Couldn't get wifi to work at all. Not really a big problem though as 4G was available. Bathroom could do with an upgrade, it let the main room down a bit.
Review 3:Location great, room was lovely, courtyard garden very pretty. Very nice staff, a great breakfast, all good quality.
Review 4:Very little apart from a loose bed slat
Review 5:Plan and layout of the Guesthouse, impressive garden, beautifully maintained, The accomodation is immaculately clean and orderly, a very compatible standard to the same kind of accomodation on the Continent.
Review 6:We just needed someplace to put our bags. The addition of luggage racks in the rooms would be greatly appreciated. Limited parking.
Review 7:Beautiful home, fabulous gardens. Lovely breakfast!
Review 8:Our second visit and everything perfect. Such attention to detail and so welcoming. Rose and her husband are the ideal hosts and the courtyard garden is a joy. Cirencester is a lovely town and ideal for exploring the Cotswolds. We recommend.
Review 9:The family room booked is small so there was limited space for moving about. Also mind your head with the low ceilings when walking through the corridor.
Review 10:Very friendly owner and staff. The breakfast was very filling and offered some choice. The location is suitable for a walk into Cirencester of driving to all of the neighbouring towns.
Review 11:The host was grumpy and I felt uncomfortable -- like I was not welcome. The guesthouse is on a busy intersection and our room in the corner -- not a quiet room.
Review 12:It was clean.
Review 13:Very small shower. Room was near traffic light and it could be noisy at times.
Review 14:Beautiful Gardens Charming atmosphere. Fabulous Full English Breakfast.
Review 15:Rose was very welcoming, We had room 7 which was lovely as felt seperate from the main house.the courtyard was very pretty and private. we could walk into town (10minutes) to shops and restaurants. Breakfast in the morning was excellent as the full English was not swimming in grease we also had a choice of eggs and plenty of cereals, fruit, yogurt to chose from. We would definitely recommend and would definitely stay at the Old Brewhouse again!!
Review 16:The road noise early morning, due to the location of the room, however would not put me off staying again
Review 17:Rose was an excellent host & lovely lady. The staff were very friendly and the cleanliness second to none. A very homely feel, and the courtyard garden was like a secret garden, a beautiful place to relax outdoors or in the conservatory. Would definitely stay again.
Review 18:On arrival the owner refused to let us have the room we had booked, as she said it was £10 more expensive than we had been quoted. Explained that it was an issue between herself & Booking.com - however she refused to let us have the courtyard room and we had to stay in the house. The room we were given faced the main road, and there was a constant stream of traffic. The toilet seat was broken, and the TV didn't work.
Review 19:Cirencester is a nice town to stay in.
Review 20:The wifi was a little hit and miss, but not a major inconvenience. On the whole everything was excellent!
Review 21:A lovely spot to relax and so close to the centre of Cirencester. The plants and fish in the garden were really good and so calming too. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely stay again when in the area.
Review 22:The room was quite noisy as the accommodation is located right on a corner by the traffic lights, however, this is easily solved by asking for a room at the back.
Review 23:Lovely room, very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. A real gem as the accommodation is set in a lovely walled garden with seating areas both in the garden and in the sunny conservatory.
Review 24:The television did not work and the mirror was broken. Also the breakfast was served between 8 am and 9am......we sat down for breakfast at 9.20am....making it a much later start to our day than we anticipated.
Review 25:The room and courtyard garden.
Review 26:Difficult to find with one way traffic system, then parking was awkward. On a very noisy corner, with buses passing by.
Review 27:Access to the town by foot. A beautiful garden for all to share.
Review 28:Nothing really.the lady running the place is lovely and always happy to help!
Review 29:The rooms were so cute and comfortable. The bathroom was small but all you needed for a weekend away. Lovely breakfast with the option of a full English or anything else you might fancy really (fruit, porridge, croissants, eggs, hash browns, continental meats and cheese, ...).
Review 30:Some rooms upstairs could be a problem if you have mobility difficulties. Some v nice rooms on ground level though so well worth asking.
Review 31:Friendly helpful staff, great breakfasts, good location.
Review 32:The location of this great little B&B was perfect. During our stay we ventured out to visit some of the outstanding villages in the Cotswolds. Cirencester itself has plenty to see with its magnificent church beautiful gardens and corneum museum. We also spent a day in Bath which is just under an hour away. The accommodation was perfect for our needs very comfortable bed great pillows although there were some strange noises coming from the plumbing during shower time. Rose the ever helpful landlady imparted much of her local knowledge and definitely contributed positively to a perfect break. Rose also insured that our party of four were seated together at breakfast. Breakfast itself was perfect with a great selection of fruit yoghurt and cooked options which were prepared to order.
Review 33:Central convenient location. Car parking facilities. Very friendly welcome. Homely feel. Character property. Will certainly return and use as my base while visiting friends and old colleagues locally. Used to stay in local hotel.
Review 34:The only drawback would be the stairs. If you are less mobile (like my mum) the stairs can be an issue. Also not practical with larger suitcases but there are rooms off the courtyard.
Review 35:Personable, great location, lovely home cooked breakfast.
Review 36:Lack of hot water in shower any time past 8am, and weak WiFi.
Review 37:we enjoyed our stay there, overall. Walking distance from the town center, very friendly staff, and a very comfortable bed. Would recommend.
Review 38:There was nothing we didnt like. Very thing was spot on
Review 39:All the rooms were very tastefully decorated lovely bedding and very clean rooms The bed was very comfy and the rooms were lovely and warm. Free wifi. Lovely breakfasts. And only 5mins walk to the centre of town Owners very nice
Review 40:Why is it that there is only one chair provided in so many rooms designed for couples! You have to lie on the bed to watch TV.
Review 41:Excellent modern facility in nice setting. Good breakfast and landlady was very accomodating to our special requests.
Review 42:Parking is a challenge in the small car park. Whilst there was a seating area outside the bedroom door there was no lounge to relax in, if it had one I would have rated it excellent on value and comfort
Review 43:Location to Cirencester centre. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 44:Must be used to typical British beds: small!
Review 45:Great location and hospitality. The breakfast was wonderful and the rooms were comfortable. The garden and common areas were lovely.
Review 46:the only negative, and it really is just a little thing, was that the signage was a little hard to see in the dark, so I drove past it 3 times before I realised where it was.
Review 47:Amazingly confortable bed in beautiful surroundings. Lush breakfast made to order (so no rubber eggs sitting around under a warming light). The furnishings and decoration was to a really high standard, and the owners were really friendly and helpful. Lovely garden / courtyard to sit out in - weather permitting. Cannot recommend it highly enough - will definitely be staying there again next time I'm in the area, and will treat myself to a longer stay!
Review 48:Rooms at front bit noisy as right on the road. Traffic noise.
Review 49:The welcome, accommodating to needs regarding room and dietary. Catered for non dairy and gluten free. Breakfast was beautifully layed out and cooked food well prepared, delicious and plentiful. Rose was amazing, very welcoming.
Review 50:Towels should be change daily. needs bigger signage from main street
Review 51:Lovely shower, comfortable ground floor big room, however wifi not accessible from room, access to hotel needs to be tidied up instead of fighting yr way through laundry. Location to town within easy walking distance
Review 52:strange noise from next door place (like a generator) can be heard in the garden
Review 53:Fruits and yogurt and porridge lus eggs and bacon home-cooked. Cosy room, very pretty quiet garden and big telly
Review 54:Parking limited to around 5 cars
Review 55:Located a few minutes from market square. Room was very nice with good wifi signal. Nice outside court yard and property well decorated. Breakfast was plenty full and home cooked.
Review 56:Parking is not very big. So you may have problems to park your car if yo stay in a peak season as I did. There is a big open air parking just round the corner where parking is free from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m., so this should not be a big problem either.
Review 57:The Old Brewhouse is a cosy, well-tended house located close to the Cirencester town centre. Rooms, at least the ones located in the backyard, are very spacious and beds are very comfortable. The whole house oozes that kind of English cosyness sobdifficult to match in other places. Breakfast is very complete and offers quality products. The staff is also very kind. It is also an ideal place to explore the Cotswolds area & the elegant city of Chelteham nearby.
Review 58:The fact that we were only staying one night. We'd have happily stayed a week.
Review 59:The owner was away, but the 'B' team left in charge were friendly, efficient and most helpful. The room was spotless and in all respects delightful. Breakfast was all that I could have asked for; varied, plentiful and tasty. Sitting in the courtyard garden was very relaxing.
Review 60:Very clean and comfortable, friendly and helpful with the most glorious garden to sit and relax in on a sunny afternoon. During our visit it was exceptionally hot and it was lovely to sleep with the door open and the smell of honeysuckle drifting in.
Review 61:We stayed in one of the garden rooms which was away from noise of main road and loved the ambience.
Review 62:Rosemary was very accomodating and helpful. Our room and the place in general was beautiful with loads of character. Will definitely visit again.
