Reviews for Pearl Court Guesthouse
Review 1:The shower was dirty- the whole room was excellent condition but that shower was bad condition
Review 2:The girl(she study medicine and is from Manchester) at the reception was more than helpful- got us a map of the citi with direction to where we wanted to go- advice us what's around and was so pleasant to talk to
Review 3:There were patches of damp/mould on the roof and walls.
Review 4:The guesthouse was close enough to the town and had shops close to it as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Included in the very reasonable price was breakfast which was a bonus. The bathroom and room itself were clean.
Review 5:be careful if you are not fit. our room was on the 4th floor (60 steps). Luckily we are robust as it really was a hard climb.
Review 6:Clean, basic room and facilities but very handy location. Nice staff.
Review 7:The shower had very minimal pressure (less than most electric showers) and only got moderately warm.
Review 8:The room and linens were lovely and the breakfast was delicious. The host was very friendly and the location is great.
Review 9:We had a meeting at Queens university and the property was extremely convenient to that, close to buses and we could also walk into downtown Belfast. All the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming to visitors. We had a quiet room up the top at the back.
Review 10:Extension lead (used for TV and kettle) a bit dangerous. We unplugged everything and reorganised everything to make it safer.
Review 11:Wonderful staff. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice. Great welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.
Review 12:I did not realise the room did not have ensuite facilities but there were 2 bathrooms close by so this was not a problem. Just not sure if this was mentioned when I booked but I can't remember reading it anywhere.
Review 13:The location was ideal for the conference I was attending which was 10 minutes walk
Review 14:Just climbing 4 flights of stairs with a heavy suitcase.
Review 15:Good location. Friendly staff. Breakfast more than were expecting as advertised continental only.
Review 16:Difficult to access wifi at top of house.
Review 17:Friendly budget B&B superb location righ by University and Botanic gardens. Easy walk or bus ride into city.
Review 18:Very noisy, no sound insulation from room above or beside mine. People coming in post midnight sounded like they were outside room door and heavy footsteps from room above. I got woken up at 430am by someone using their bathroom, I could even hear light cord being pulled! Bathroom smelled mouldy. Breakfast starts far too late I had to leave at 8 to catch a flight so didn't have any food. I did pop down at 745 and there was no one there. Owners need to spend a night in each room when it's full and at weekend as clearly whilst it's a gorgeous old house their has been no noise insulation put in
Review 19:Handy location, wifi and TV.
Review 20:The location was great. A fun sea side town with easy access to both downtown Dublin and the airport. The house was charming and we had a comfortable room. Our breakfast was exceptionally good and our hosts were delightful. A great experience.
Review 21:When I just arrived, the owner or staff wasn't there, I just met a guest who didn't help me or tell me where I could find the key and just shut down the door, so rude.
Review 22:the staff are nice
Review 23:Cramped room, and shared bathrooms. but everthing was clean and well cared for.
Review 24:Location is excellent: a couple of blocks from Queen's University. Easy to get around on buses. Near Ulster Museum, and restaurants and pubs.
Review 25:-excellent location for walking to the city centre or for catching a city bus -staff were exceptionally accommodating and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable!
Review 26:Room at the front of the house near a fairly busy road which might have been a problem for me in hot weather.
Review 27:Pleasant Guest house in easy location ; owners friendly and helpful and well organised.
Review 28:Shower was very small Bathroom light was very weak
Review 29:Walking distance to city centre, including famous Crown Bar. Good breakfast Wifi Welcoming staff Easy to park Room was quite spacious
Review 30:Nothing!
Review 31:BEST Breakfast ever! Never ever had such a great fried egg in my life! Fantastic location near Queens + Botanical Gardens and walking distance to everything else! Lovely People!
Review 32:I can't think of anything at the moment.
Review 33:Comfortable room, good shower, ample breakfast, helpful staff, good wi-gi, great location within easy walking distance of downtown and to Botanic gardens.
Review 34:Pearl Court Guesthouse is a lovely place to stay with friendly staff and in a great location, it is certainly a place I will be staying in again the next time I am in Ireland.
Review 35:I loved the atmosphere, authengic urban and domestic at the same time. Loved the friendly and helpful staff. I stayed a week and would come back again.
Review 36:The view from the room wasn't spectacular, but on the other hand there was little traffic noise at the back of the house.
Review 37:The proximity of the Botanic Gardens, Botanic Station and the University made it a good place to stay, and it was a short walk into the city centre.
Review 38:Having shared bathrooms was inconvenient but the facilities were very clean. Also, there was no one to help us check in or carry our luggage up to the third floor. A heads up would have been nice.
Review 39:20 mins walk from Europa bus centre. Nearby universities. Plenty of shops within walking distance. We have a big room for three of us. Very comfortable.
Review 40:Nice older building, good reading area downstairs at night (behind the breakfast seating). Close to decent restaurants. Good breakfast served by friendly staff who encouraged conversation among the various guests.
Review 41:No ventilation, toilet leaned so you felt like you'd tip off of it if you didn't sit carefully, only scalding hot or cold water in the shower! The water temperature kept changing with little to no chance to rinse between change. Forget standing in the water! Just dash it on you
Review 42:The breakfast ladies were nice and helpful. I was able to borrow a hairdryer from another lady in an office downstairs when she got in that night.
Review 43:3rd floor without lift.
Review 44:Excellent spacious room, with a round townhouse window and a view. Five minute drive to city center. Good breakfast. Short walking distance to a small supermarket, and lively student pubs.
Review 45:The room needs some fresh paint, furniture old and out of date. A bit noisy from the road, and you can hear the people next door as the walls are thin. The breakfast could be a more..1 slice of bacon? Maybe they could add some tomatoes and make it more a full English? The bread was lovely..but the pancakes are not homemade ones which I thought it would be better not to serve any!
Review 46:The staff is lovely and helpful givibg tipps. They are there just in the mornings mainly. The breakfast was okay, egg of your choice and one slice of bacon..in overall its a clean place even the single room is a bit out of date and needs some fresh paint. The location is great and about a 20 min walk into the city center. Its next to the University and has a couple of restaurants nearbye. Safe area too.
Review 47:This place was beautiful, the staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. It was a great place to stay for the night, I wish I stayed longer. I definitely recommend this place!
Review 48:On opening wardrobe door i turned to pick up cloths mean time the wardrobe overbalanced and fell on me. The mattress was as old as me, springs stuck into me like a bed of nails
Review 49:Conveniently located
Review 50:T We were met by a lovely lady named Kathy, who just made us feel at home. The breakfast staff were excellent and the breakfast was lovely. Put it like this we were pleasantly surprised.
Review 51:The only thing I wish were different is the noise between floors. I lovethe hard wood floors but I was woken up by the sounds from upstairs, youcan hear everything, there's just no insulation between floors. Andwoken up in the morning by the room next to me singing at 7:30am. (Notthe hotel's fault ;-))
Review 52:I love this place. The staff are lovely and the location is perfect, just close to town. The rooms are tastefully decorated and there's areal attention to detail. The only complaint is as you see written tothe right here. Otherwise, don't hesitate, book today ;-)
Review 53:Not a good thing to notice an unclean sign in the garden, doesn't deliver a wow!!! A paintbrush and windowlene are definitely required as sunny spring days take no prisoners. We thought it was way overpriced @ £60 when the bathroom was two flights down, no tv reception and an 'in bits' remote control to turn it on. We just couldn't stay. The reviews didn't live up in our book.
Review 54:The location is great.
Review 55:Breakfast nice and fresh . We got cooked eggs and bacon. Lacked beans and mushroom .
Review 56:The location was good , staff lovely, couldn't do enough to help us.
Review 57:I stayed in Pearlcourt a couple of year ago for a Christmas Party and thought it was a lovely guest house. I decided to stay again this year (also for an outing with work) and was not disappointed! Comfy room, friendly staff, facilities provided were basic but was all I needed for the nights stay. Would definitely stay again!
Review 58:I was not happy about comments being passed and hooting done when I walked on the street. It happened on two occasions on the same day. Nothing adverse against the guesthouse, but I was really worried stepping out for dinner at night.
Review 59:The owner is a pleasant lady. Extremely helpful.
Review 60:Slightly impersonal as staff not always on hand. Bed didn't suit me but was OK in general.
Review 61:Quiet and fairly close to centre, cheaper than city hotels.
Review 62:can't be helped with the building type but only thing is that we could hear everything in the hallway from our room. So anyone who is a light sleeper like me bring some earplugs. Comfiest bed though!!
Review 63:great staff lovely breakfast and not too far from central Belfast. Price was great for size of room. Staff made it really easy to check in and out too!
Review 64:Heating wasnt always on
Review 65:We arrived very early in the morning (8.45). Not only was our room ready but we were offered breakfast for £4.00 per head which was excellent value,
Review 66:Shared bathroom, which wasn't always working and bedroom was small, but ok. Outside a bit shabby and overgrown, so was a little hard to find at night.
Review 67:Very clean, comfortable bed, TV, WiFi, sink in room. Breakfast was simple, tasty and well executed. Real plunger coffee. Nice ambiance in common room
Review 68:Small room The place seems a bit "worn". Simple breakfast
Review 69:Friendly staff Clean room Good location - 15 minutes walk to center of Belfast, and several shops, restaurants and pubs near by.
Review 70:Felt every spring in the bed on my bones and had an exhausting day of meetings and travel the following day! The heating was on all night, the window was broken and the wi fi was very hit and miss. Shame because it could be a really nice place to stay.
Review 71:Food was good and staff were friendly
Review 72:There was nothing not to like.
Review 73:The staff were amazing. Extremely helpful and friendly without being intrusive. The Guest House was warm and comfortable and exuded a lovely atmosphere. The breakfast was superb - great variety to suit all tastes. Did more than expected to make our stay memorable for all the right reasons. Cannot thank the lovely staff enough. :-)
Review 74:we had family staying in the pearl court apartments. these are not so nicely finished as the guesthouse. they fit the bill but they lack the character of the guesthouse.
Review 75:The guesthouse was lovely, warm and welcoming. we didn't have the breakfast but it looked great. quite a lot of stairs if you're on the top floors. room was cozy and had everything we needed.
Review 76:The only parking available is on the street. We were able to find a spot on the side street beside Pearl Court but parking is tight and scarce.
Review 77:The location was perfect. We were able to walk to the hop on hop off bus that stops at Queen's University just a 5 minute walk from Pearl Court. There were several good restaurants in the area but our favorite was Brennan's just a short walk straight down the street. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 78:Didn't realise when I booked it wasn't ensuite. Quite noisy, you could very easily hear people walking passed your room and doors slamming. Public areas nice but room and bathroom need updating
Review 79:Breakfast was nice
Review 80:NOT PUT IN THE GUESTHOUSE BUT IN THE APARTMENT NEXT DOOR .REALLY OLD FURNISHING ,NOT SHOWN AROUND AT ALL AS WE WERE ONLY SHOWN A BATHROOM WITH NO SHOWER FACILITIES .REMOTE DIDNT WORK .NO CURTAIN IN KIDS ROOM & THEY WERE AWAKE AT THE CRACK OF DAWN .
Review 81:BED WAS COMFORTABLE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS 2 SINGLES PUSHED TOGETHER . BREAKFAST WAS NICE .
Review 82:the door knob was broken. almost impossible to open the room door. there was no parking and we had to park nearby.
Review 83:near the botanic gardens. there was no one to check us in but they left clear instructions for us to check in
Review 84:If you are looking for modern accommodation, this is not it.
Review 85:The staff were really nice and made us feel very welcome. The location was excellent and really easy to find. We had our own car and finding parking was easy. The price included breakfast which was lovely and hit the spot. I would have no reservations about recommending this guesthouse to anyone. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.
Review 86:The shower was either very hot or very cold, couldn't get a happy medium. Maybe need a dummys guide for it!haha
Review 87:Staff were incredibly helpful. We arrived early (had arranged this previously) and were able to store our luggage while we went for a walk. Upon arriving back, our room wasn't ready but we were invited into the living room to wait. We felt so comfortable and at home, that my sister and I both fell asleep there! I'd arranged a surprise for my sister while we were in Belfast (tickets for the Belsonic Gig) and the staff helped me sort out travel and directions to & from the concert. They also found somewhere in the town centre for us to store our luggage on the last day, to save us travelling back to the hotel after our day trip. Breakfast was a good choice and very yummy. Would definitely stay here again!
Review 88:I ordered a room for me and my partner. ....There was 2 single beds :/ the room was dated it could of done with an updating
Review 89:It was a great location and close to city cenre...was very quiet
Review 90:The fact I'd booked a single bed
Review 91:Location. The price. The attentive staff trying all they could to assist when I lost my phone. The nice breakfast.
Review 92:The fact that there was no staff on duty in the evening made communication difficult for a relative who visited me. She did not know what floor/room I was in.
Review 93:Location was good. Breakfast was very good and morning breakfast staff were very polite.
Review 94:The charm of the place, friendly staff called by first name. Assisted booking a one day tour and taxi very helpful. Near university but also close to park gardens and not far to town by bus. I would go back again.
Review 95:We had a bit of trouble finding it, there are several streets with similar names.
Review 96:Lovely little place. The staff were extremely helpful. It was an easy and pleasant walk into the city, past Queen's University. And while many restaurants in Belfast close earlier than we're used to, there's a great little restaurant that stays open later just across the street.
Review 97:Breakfast was poor
Review 98:Friendly and helpful staff
Review 99:10/10
