Reviews for Ramada London North
Review 1:The hotel room was freezing, when I informed a member of staff she simply reset the meter and said it should warm up. The bed linen was dirty with various stains over it. Sadly I wouldn't stay at this hotel again or recommend.
Review 2:Close to the hotel there was a few shops and fast food restaurants which was convenient.
Review 3:LOCATION GROUND FLOOR NEXT TO BUS AND LORRY'S EXIT TO SERVICE STATION AND WALKING BY GUEST NEXT TO ROOM WINDOW VERY LOUD AIR CONDITIONING FAN IN THE ROOM NOT THE CHEAPEST BREAKFAST
Review 4:THE BATH
Review 5:I have been given a parking ticket for overnight parking at the hotel premises without my knowledge that you were supposed to pay for parking.
Review 6:Reasonable
Review 7:It was difficult to find the hotel. It s located on the motorway service area near Waitrose. You cannot access hotel via a road unless you are on the Motorway. Far from nearest underground station. Service at the restaurant very slow. Acoustic isolation from the motorway could be better.
Review 8:free car park. good price and comfort. Nice staff.
Review 9:when i booked room it was £14 more for a non smoking room than a non smoking room ! when i asked why this was the case on check in the receptionist shrugged her shoulders and could not give a reason as to why this was the case .so if you want the best value room at this hotel you must start smoking !!!!
Review 10:ideal location to access london
Review 11:Very noisy person in next room which staff knew as he stays there often but did nothing about him having TV loud all night!
Review 12:Staff friendly. Breakfast good. Hotel rooms clean and comfortable
Review 13:Poor room service , ordered ice creams and we were given 2 small cups of Hagendas without even a plate or a spoon. It was more like buying from an off licence and eating on the street. The choice of tea in the room was only green tea, when asked for breakfast tea bags, I was asked to come down to reception and collect it myself.
Review 14:Good rooms , clean and fresh, well decorated.
Review 15:The shower was broken, it was impossible to cool down and constant boiling water so I was never able to take a shower in the morning. The breakfast was one of the worst iv had. The sausage was like rubber and was simply not edible.
Review 16:I booked an executive room which I found to be more than specious, and also included a fridge which was perfect for cooling water over night.
Review 17:No hot water couldn't go to my dinner clean Compensation due to no hot water was a disaster They say they clean your room they don't clean it just do the bed and restock in bathroom she left empty bottles tissues just not clean
Review 18:Check in was fast
Review 19:We went for breakfast at 8am and there was hardly any hot food left - only beans and hash browns. The hash browns were frozen in the middle! Had to leave and go elsewhere for breakfast which is not ideal with a 4 year old. Also, the hotel does not have wifi - they just tell you to access the BT openzone. One more thing - don't use the postcode in your satnav otherwise you'll end up 8 miles from the hotel!
Review 20:The room was comfortable, clean and very spacious. (We had a family room) Staff were very polite and helpful. They even printed off an email for me at no extra cost.
Review 21:Stayed here a few times when we drive to London - half the price of city centre hotels and free parking - just get a taxi to the station and then a day pass on the tube - brilliant location and a nice hotel
Review 22:Noise from train line was a big negative. Mattress could do with a 'topper' or something - not the most comfortable. I also didn't realise this was at the motorway services so access is via northbound carriageway only.
Review 23:Nice enough in general and staff were friendly. Have stayed in much worse places.
Review 24:Beds were too hard which amounted to poor sleep. Would have preferred King size bed . More selection on menu (prawns). More security for rooms. Anyone can access room floors. Maybe a room key activated lift.
Review 25:Friendly staff, clean rooms, everything made convenient .
Review 26:The stay was very uncomfortable. I woke up several times, there were springs in my back from the bed, there was a dripping tap and the heating was clicking. I had to leave the heating on because the room was so cold but then it was difficult to sleep due to the noise coming from the heater.
Review 27:Staff were generally helpful and friendly.
Review 28:The guy on the reception wasn't really helpful. Rushed and didn't activate the card. Had to go back. Had to ask some questions . Not at all friendly.
Review 29:The room was clean and spacious . Location was great closer to the motorway and London. Quiet
Review 30:The location of my room as it was far from the reception. Also there was not enough sugar and milk for my coffee.
Review 31:I love the bed very big n comfortable
Review 32:Being woken by a Staff member rearranging the furniture in the meetingrooms opposite room 150 at 3.45 am both nights I stayed!!!!! Scrapingthe tables and chairs across the floor and hoovering after I had toldher people were trying to sleep. She just said it was her job!!!!!!!!! Ithought it was her job to make sure paying guests got a good nightssleep. That was the only thing I used to hotel for....to sleep. Andsleep was the last thing I got. I was still awake at 6.20am!!! Then hada 200 mile drive back home! I have tried on numerous occasions to speakto someone to complain (the Manager wasn't there on Sunday) but theyhaven't even had the common courtesy to ring back in 2 days!!Only one plug in the whole room. 2 beds pushed together was uncomfortable and kept rolling into the middle.
Review 33:Bed wasn't too bad
Review 34:Breakfast had alot of choice I was eating fairly early but hot food was more tepid that even warm
Review 35:Room s.d bathroom perfect. It's always good to have an option of a bath and shower
Review 36:There was a little noise from the trains which pass close to the hotel but certainly not enough to disturb my sleep.
Review 37:Great location for North London at a fabulous price. Great service and food in restaurant in the evening. Did not have breakfast. Staff very helpful and professional. Expected a small room and very basic motorway service station motel but was VERY pleasantly surprised. Will certainly stay there again next time I am in the area.
Review 38:the spare bed that was made up in the room for my employee was a discrace ! a fold up bed with a one inch thick mattress ! hes now got a bad back as a result ! told this to receptionist on way out and she said sorry !
Review 39:I had six blokes staying there for work. Everyone of the said how uncomfortable the beds where and would have rather stayed at the Travelodge (that would have been half the price)
Review 40:Apart from it being a little far from my house, everything about my stay was perfect. Thanks
Review 41:Smoking facilities were very useful! Tidy, clean great hotel
Review 42:Nothing as above
Review 43:Not much of the property no where near transport if you don't have a car no fridge in room if you want a cold drinks or milk for coffee as they give you small long life milk enough for 1 cup when asked some of staff for something they said we dont offer that but was given it from staff night before
Review 44:Hotel bedrooms not 4star quality in my opinion. Bed sheets had rips in them, bathroom had stains around sink area. Quilts on bed were quite thin too so we were cold in the night (there was no spare bedding). Children's sofabeds were both very lumpy but the adult bed (Queen size I think) was luckily big enough to sleep 4 people in it! (2 adults and 2 small children).
Review 45:Great location outside of London centre. Hotel has connections to local taxi company which costs £5 to take you to nearest tube connection at Edware Station. Tube to London centre (e.g. Hyde Park area) takes approx. 25-30 minutes. Free onsite carpark with plenty of spaces at hotel. Good base and value hotel for visiting London. Would recommend and possibly use again.
Review 46:Some rooms are noisier than others depending on where you are. The use of a guest computer would be most welcome.
Review 47:Warmth of welcome and the friendliness of all the staff and management. Always happy to help.
Review 48:There were no dislikes!
Review 49:Staff were amazing, room was clean and quite big. There just weren't any faults, kids have a look around for spiders as we have seen a lot of them in different places but they loved it being the first hotel with no spiders. So a lovely stay, lovely breakfast.
Review 50:Room room service I never realised that such a excellent hotel exist at the right location will always be there if I get the price right for the days of my future visits
Review 51:Bucket and towel outside room collecting fluid from dripping pipe in ceiling... was there over 12 hours so obviously not in a rush to fix it!
Review 52:good value, parking sorted, easy to get too. Rooms always well equipped and clean
Review 53:No sleep at all !!
Review 54:Hardly slept a wink, noisy family next door and trains going right by my window from 4am. Also it seemed I was above the bins, heard stuff getting thrown away or something all night
Review 55:The hotel is located in a service facility on the motorway. The closest underground station is Edgware underground station, can be reached only with a taxi that the hotel has a special price agreement, but it will cost 5 pounds for each day to reach the underground station from the hotel
Review 56:Rooms could be better cleaned. Also, the hotel is really far from the city. Because there is traffic daily you can take more than an hour to go to the center. Public service is a better option. Expensive breakfast.
Review 57:The hotel was decent, and friendly stuff, but very, very far from city center.
Review 58:Bit far from city centre and complicated to get to as is positioned at the Services on the M1 Understaffed in bar/restaurant area
Review 59:Nice big room , bathroom with a bath!
Review 60:Room was either too hot or too cold during the night - hard to get the temperature just right! Also heard doors slamming loudly around 6am - perhaps soft closing doors are needed!
Review 61:Clean and comfortable room
Review 62:Unfortunately , did not like the food very much - found it too costly and it did not match up to expectations
Review 63:The staff was able to accommodate our request into changing the room for a disabled room
Review 64:The hotel asks for a £10 charge for every early check in hour .. As soon as you have the room ready guys why you dont give it to the customer ??! Sounds strange actually
Review 65:Location and price
Review 66:My partner is disabled and a smoker i required a lower floor room but was given 3rd floor as he smoked and he had a fear of lifts so we could either have a lower room which is non smoking or 3rd floor room with smoking but have to climb 3 flights of stairs or brave the lift he went up the stairs first time but went in lift which i had to hold him tight till we stopped and doors opened .
Review 67:The room and location
Review 68:Please stop serving meals on a chopping board.... It's not fancy or modern, just unhygienic.
Review 69:The staff are excellent. Very friendly, helpful and always smiling.
Review 70:Because of the limited access to junctions 4 and 2 of the M1 it made access very difficult to get to my destination the next day, especially as no-one on duty could tell us whether we could get on or off on at the junctions. I was trying to get to Stanmore and after trial and error I had to go up to junction 5 and come back to junction. I couldn't connect to hotel wi-fi as signal weak.
Review 71:Cleanliness and friendliness of staff.
Review 72:Having been a regular customer, room was filthy, no working TV remote, broken window which I complained about was not seen to and staff were rude and the duty manager did nothing to defuse or sort out my complaint. I will contact head office to make sure no other customer suffers my bad experience and highly recommend people avoid booking this hotel.
Review 73:Absolutely nothing.
Review 74:After coming back to the room in the evening, it felt cold and although we put the heating up, it didn't seem to do much. However, there was a spare thick blanket in the room which kept me warm in the night so that was handy.
Review 75:The room was airy and spacious. We opted for breakfast which although was an expensive add on, it was worth it. Tasty hot food, the usual, eggs, sausages, hash browns, mushrooms and bacon.
Review 76:the bath tub was very slippery and beacuse of this i feel out the bath tub and fell on bath floor. All bath tubs should have rubber matts aready suppiled as the small red notice is so unnoticeable. Beacuse of this i was in alot pain on my day trip to london. And my day around london not so fun
Review 77:Hotel staff was great and hotel was nice for the price not bad at all
Review 78:Directions were poor. It should have said it was at Gateway services. Also was advertised in the Website as in Wembley. ...It was not
Review 79:Comfy bed. Clean large room. Nice dinner. Nice staff.
Review 80:Only one chef at work on Saturday morning the chef fell behind with certain items being available
Review 81:Friendly and helpful staff hotel clean and of good standard Location to Wembley and London ideal
Review 82:There was no hot water, and the solution was for us to go to another guests' room and shower there! Utterly ridiculous. The breakfast was an absolute joke - two coach parties in at the same time, the tour guides having a massive argument while LEANING ON MY CHAIR! The coach parties queuing up for food, having taken all of the cutlery and crockery but having nowhere to sit, and those of us who did have seats were unable to actually go and get any food. Worst breakfast experience I ever had. The "family" room was a mattress on the floor, underneath a sharp-cornered table, and there was an adjoining door to the room next door, meaning we could hear their TV ALL NIGHT. One plug socket, which was cracked, and just very poor over all. The staff (apart from Angela) were fairly unhelpful and this did not represent value for money. We have stayed before, and it was fine. We will never ever stay again.
Review 83:The restaurant manager, Angela, was helpful
Review 84:Arrived at 11.00 pm and my room still wasn't ready! Left wondering if I'd been hot-cotted! Sense of being on a traffic island between railway and freeway. Very limited times for rooms service. Breakfast had a truckstop quality and ambience!
Review 85:Not a lot really! At least it was a hotel in that area.
Review 86:Staff really helpful and friendly.
Review 87:The room next door 103 had TV really loud all night, I mean literally all night right through until they went out. Kept me awake all night it was so loud
Review 88:I was given a disable room, was told not to be frightened with sign on door and promised just the same as other rooms. Hotel was full I had no choice. Bathroom was disgusting, taps weren't clean and dripping, bath needed repairing, ceiling was cracked and showed leaking marks. Only allowed to upload 3 pictures but I have more!! Worst was found towel with dirty brown mark on. Awful and this is my 2nd stay but this might well be last unless they improve! Very disappointed. Noisy youngsters shouting in rooms opposite and loudly talking / slamming doors all evening! Not hotel fault but this is the kind of guests to expect, no respect for others.
Review 89:The location is what I needed was good for next day travels in M1. Nearby walking distance was service station for convenience 24/7 if needed. Staff was friendly and tried to help with noise but they were not at corridor all the time.
Review 90:Very regular trains passing outside leading to noise at night.
Review 91:Excellent location on the M1 with easy access to london via a short cheap taxi journey to mill Hill Broadway train station.
Review 92:the childrens beds had springs sticking out of them and there were someones elses hair in the bathroom when we arrived . One plugpoint in the room made it very difficult for us all to do hair and charge phones for a family room it should have more than one.
Review 93:location for London was great.
Review 94:Couldn't find the hotel... Was so confusing on the sat nav and literally took us nearly an hour to do a 20 minute journey.
Review 95:Very friendly staff on the reception
Review 96:Bathroom wasn't very clean. Duvets were not warm enough to offset the draught from the window Breakfast provision would benefit from a review. Choice not adequate and not well cooked. Brand of teabag needs changing as it was a disgusting drink both in the bedroom and the restaurant.
Review 97:Staff were helpful with any queries
Review 98:The room smelt of smoke. I asked if there was another room and was told there wasn't but they could come and open the window for me. Since I was on top of a very busy railway line which kept me awake I declined the offer. I booked an upgraded room with a fridge. This was not turned on when I arrived so had to wait for it to cool down. A couple of the staff on the front desk didn't appear to be very knowledgeable or particularly bothered to offer a good service to the guests.
Review 99:Breakfast
Review 100:There was a large stain on the carpet and no drinking water in the room
Review 101:We had 2 rooms and they were next to each other, also hotel located near other services
Review 102:Location means a long drive when I only needed to go into Borehamwood. A different access would be great. Wouldn't have booked if I had known this in the first place.
Review 103:bed was compfy
Review 104:So im not familiar with london! And wasn't expecting the hotel to be in a service station! We only stayed 1 night and overall everything else was good, we had a spacious family room that was clean and bright and decent bathroom
Review 105:There was no plug in the bathroom sink and I could feel the springs poking through the mattress.
Review 106:The staff were friendly and helpful. Very good choice for breakfast
Review 107:The location is not the best to get to, for our stay whilst going to Wembley it meant extra time travelling as no direct route. Backs onto busy railway line so some noise.
Review 108:Two bus rides from Hotel to hospital where Mom was at since I did not drive.
Review 109:Very warm staff as my Mother had just passed away and they tried to perk me up.
Review 110:Would have liked the room hoovered considering there were some odd peanuts on the floor and were still there when we left. Reported it to reception at the end of the stay who apologised. Maybe we should have said something earlier but was hoping the cleaning staff would have noticed it themselves.
Review 111:The location and a nice hotel. Fitted our needs.
Review 112:Room was cold and very thin duvet Breakfast was poor not good value for money. Limited choice for example only 1 type of yoghurt. No fresh fruit
Review 113:Room was cold and very thin duvet Breakfast was poor not good value for money. Limited choice
Review 114:The room was not cleaned on arrival and because I was on a time scale I could do no more than put the please make up my room sign - which was ignored. also it was situated next to a train track which was so noisy it felt like it was in the room itself.
Review 115:Only down side was the shower curtain was very light and flimsy and had a tendency to waft into you wet body and stick to you, which was a tad annoying.
Review 116:We stayed in a Family Room on the ground floor at the front, and found the very wide bed springy but very comfortable (in fact my wife wants one - if only our bedroom could take something so wide). The sound proofing did a very good job of blocking out the M1 which was the other side of the carpark. The breakfast buffet (grilled bacon, sausages, hash-browns, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, grilled-tomatoes, cereals, pastries, juices, tea & coffee, etc) was good and well stocked and not fatty at all and kept us going through the day. The reception staff (Johanne) was welcoming and very helpful (we had 2 consecutive nights as 2 separate bookings in 2 different room types - 1 family and 1 twin - and she managed to get us in the same family room for both nights which was very appreciated). The shower was strong enough and good instant and constant heat, just what you need when you wake-up or wind-down at the end of a long day. My wife and I enjoyed the stay and will certainly be happy to stay there again if we are in the area.
Review 117:Directions on website for sat nav were incorrect so it took 45 minutes extra to arrive.. Called hotel for directions but the took 11 minutes to answer phone!
Review 118:Could only access motorway not A road from location so a detour required. Bed too soft and hairdryer annoyingly you have keep finger on to keep it working. Smells very strongly of paint so fire doors keep open, which is illegal.
Review 119:My room had the kettle missing and no shower gel in the shower. Also Shower thermostat was broken. Next day all was fixed but I had to ask for a reduction in my bill. It wasn't offered. Last day no tea bags
Review 120:Large rooms and convenient location as long as you don't mind being at a Motorway service station
Review 121:Bed in executive room wasn't comfortable. Breakfast was not up to the quality expected. Awful juices machine (broken). Better off having breakfast at the nearest Premier Inn or even McDonald rather than here.
Review 122:Very helpful staff. Good level of cleanliness.
Review 123:The bed wasn't comfort the bed too soft false alarm wen we sleeping the reception tell us it was a false alarm we will angry nobody tell us about the false alarm. The tv was small no movies in the channel. The window was too small you can't open wildly .
Review 124:I like the bathroom dat it
Review 125:It's a bit of a drag having to go on long detours to get to and from the hotel via the Motorways. Long waits for top UPS on the breakfast buffet.
Review 126:Good,clean value for money hotel. Great large beds.
Review 127:The room over looked the mail train line in to London, from early morning there was a train passing every few minutes, the room had poor sound insulation so it was impossible to sleep.
Review 128:The room was filthy. Dirty mugs. Bathroom was disgusting and had marks left over from where the previous people made a complete mess. floor looked as though it had not been vacuumed for a long time. Not sure how they can think that it was acceptable.
Review 129:Staff were okay when we mentioned that the room was very dirty they didn't seem as though they cared much though. Comfy bed though.
Review 130:This was my third time here and although the first 2 times were very good, this one was very disappointing. The beds were just awful, they split in the middle so neither my wife or I,could sleep. The sheet on my bed was dirty with what looked like blood and we left at 2 am just a few hours after our arrival.
Review 131:The staff were very friendly and nice as per usual.
Review 132:1. There were several leaks in the bathroom 2. The bath plug had no chain so could not easily be removed when the bath was full of water 3. Being right by the M1 made for an early wake-up 4. When booking I asked for a ground floor room or room adjacent to a lift but got a 3rd floor room 100 yards from any lift! 5.I had to have 3 'impressions' of my credit card taken, one on booking, 2nd on arrival, 3rd on paying. Not keen on this idea at all.
Review 133:It was conveniently situated
Review 134:My wife and I had an unplanned visit to a London hospital and the hotel was convenient in that we could leave the car and travel with relative ease into the city.
Review 135:The toilet was dirty so I had to clean it with baby wipes. The door handle to the bathroom fell off and so did the handle to the window! You could hear the road traffic noise all through the night.
Review 136:the glasses in the room was filthy , it was obvious that thE cleaner just wiped it only, not washed or even change it , someone should supervise the cleaner..... Thank u
Review 137:staff are friendly , Location, nice big room
The Fine Print
Please note that entrance to the hotel is via the M1 motorway only. Some satellite navigation systems may direct you via a different route, please ignore and use M1 motorway Junction 2-4.When checking in to the hotel you will need to register the car parked in the car park or you could receive a parking ticket from the company who owns the car park, as it is a third party company.
