Reviews for Ramada Park Hall Hotel and Spa Wolverhampton
Review 1:breakfast was 3 star rated served in the indian restaurant next door walk outside the hotel help your self to food cooked already not fresh and hot. The hot plate was cold the heating element wasn't working. the staff only serve the tea no toast make it your self.
Review 2:Nice room and location and staff.
Review 3:There was no breakfast buffet which was a little disappointing, so the waiter had to take our order, go and prepare whilst we waited. Time wasting, especially in the morning.
Review 4:The staffs gave their best service despite difficult situation where there was no breakfast buffet.
Review 5:Ease of booking in, welcoming staff, a comfortable room, we had drinks from the bar, the next morning as we came out of our room we asked a member of staff with a red lanyard where breakfast was being served, and she doubled back and took us to the Orangery, and chatted to us along the way. As we arrived around 9.30am for breakfast we were offered freshly cooked eggs. The staff were responsive and were on hand with the pot of tea. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Review 6:The room was tired and the decoration was sloppily done - paint on doors etc. It was also dirty. There was little attention to detail. There was a fireworks display at about 10 - 10.30pm right outside our window - it woke us up and gave us such a shock. It would have been thoughtful for someone to have mentioned that this was happening. Although it was a great display! The staff cleared the breakfast food before the end of breakfast, without bothering to check whether everyone had finished eating. The spa messed up our booking, which was very annoying. We did get money off our treatment though as a result.
Review 7:The lady who did our massage in the spa was the best bit about this place. She was extremely competent in her work and both friendly and informative regarding local amenities. But she really went the extra mile, in that when we came out of the spa she had written down the address of the restaurant we had been talking about. If it were not for this very lovely lady, the weekend we stayed at this hotel would have been a bit of a let down really.
Review 8:Leisure facilities were closed on New Year's Day but staff contacted us via phone within half an hour of making the booking and gave us the option to cancel if we wanted. Due to various private parties, dining options and locations were restricted but the bar menu food was very good. However this was a last minute booking and we were advised of restrictions immediately on arrival.
Review 9:Hotel room was lovely and quiet even though it was New Year's Eve, extended our stay by an extra night and staff were very helpful with this. Room service menu had a good range of options and excellent quality.
Review 10:Swimming pool however called 3 days prior to arrival to advice children cannot use. A little disappointing but grateful for the call
Review 11:Room spacious, breakfast excellent
Review 12:Upgraded to an exec suite only to be placed over an Xmas party till 1am we were advised would finish at 12, to be fair we were offered another room 30 mins before party ended. Didn't get to sleep till 2am therefore woke up late, reception v confrontational wanted to charge a late checkout which I thought unreasonable given how late we got to bed, in the end this waved after challenging, pity about the party & reception attitude otherwise good venue, think reception require some training & basic common sense.
Review 13:Overall the breakfast was good but we felt it was spoiled by the quality of a couple of items (ie: tasteless bread for toasting).
Review 14:Very clean. Nice en-suite with selection of toiletries provided. Staff were very helpful and the manager more than compensated for a problem we asked him about. Lovely Indian restaurant with great food. Also, there were 3 functions on our first night and we heard no noise at all :)
Review 15:Bar could do with being stocked a little better and the staff although polite could benefit from further training
Review 16:The best feature of thus hotel by far was the India restaurant Anjus lovely staff incredible food . There is nice little spa with small pool jacuzzi , sauna and steam room. Reception staff very good.
Review 17:Remote for this did not work, stains on the curtains, iron was worn and old - which left marks on my clothing, shelf in the bathroom was broken and could not keep anything on it, a light out in the room, no air con - a fan attached to the wall which was very noisy
Review 18:The staff were friendly, good views across the fields
Review 19:Greeting was inadequate, no briefing about facilities or dining areas. Roof leaking and had to change rooms late at night with small children. Shower head wouldn't support itself, I had to tie it up with a flannel.
Review 20:Breakfast was very good
Review 21:*spa closed after we had booked! * room 221 bathroom smelt - same smell in toilets by reception - drain problem? * the cold water tap ran warm - even after running the Tap for 20 mins- so couldn't have a cold drink if water + the fridge was warm!
Review 22:Staff - very helpful and attentive Lovely breakfast Secure parking
Review 23:Very noisy, children from a party in the restaurant running up and down the corridor until late. Prescription tablets found in the bedside draw by my 5 year old grandson. Some of the breakfast tens were cold. 1 member of staff running the breakfast area and serving coffee ( coffee old and took 25 minutes tigers second cup. No vegetarian option offered although I requested this on my booking.
Review 24:I called to order an evening meal for room service ant 9:15pm and was told they were no longer doing hot food - this is very early compared with most other hotels and exstreemly disappointing after a long day. I ordered several things on the "after 9pm menu". I then waited for over 2 hours for this to arrive and when it did only half of what was ordered arrived and the pannini was cold & the salad soggy. Breakfast unfortunatly did not fair much better, again I decide I would have room service. My meal arrives barely warm and incomplete, meaning i had to call down to reception for the missing items. The room itself was very nice, although was not as clean as i would have expecected as on removing the comforter I had to brush several hairs from the sheets (most unpleasent) the carpet also looked as though it has not been hoovered that day. The bath products were sparce (I've had better selections in lesser hotels) and the shower gel bottle had been split making it unable to be opened & used however rather than being replaced it had been left out for "use". FInally It was disappointing to find that the double bed was actually 2 singles pushed together with a matress topper. This would ordinarily be fine however the mattress toppers was so thin that it did not give a smooth finish between the beds meaning that if you laid in the middle you could feel the hard rim of reach individual mattress digging in, this meant that you could really only sleep on one of the singles any way. I am not normally someone that would complain and cirtainly not bother to write a reviews, however I did mention my room service experience to the girl when checking out and they removed the charges from my room, but it all felt very "matter of course" rather than an expection to the norm. My whole experience was disappointing and very unlike any Ramada i have stayed in before. I will be thinking twice about staying here in future
Review 25:The reception and checking in staff were very helpful and the bulding itself and the common areas have been kept very well. It was also reassuring that the car park was well lit and secure as I have had issues in the past with my car being damaged in hotel carparks which were not well maintained
Review 26:Rooms wasn't too a high standard. Could see old paint, fittings in bathroom falling off and paint coming off. We also had no hot or warm water for one of the nights.
Review 27:Staff was friendly, helpful and very pleasant. Spa was very good. Rooms were big enough and very comfy.
Review 28:Got no sleep, our room above kitchen, constant noise from kitchen air con till 2am, walls very thin, hear every thing from all drunken neighbors.
Review 29:Nice hotel, and on site Indian restaurant, also excellent spa.
Review 30:I found the evening meal we had at The Orangery restaurant to be particularly poor. We ordered the Fish & Chips, and were disappointed with the amount of bones in the fish and the thick batter.
Review 31:The room was well appointed, and the gym at the Spa impressed. Beautiful gardens and helpful staff.
Review 32:Not sure I can think of anything in particular so will not write something for the sake of it.
Review 33:The staff were all extremely friendly and very helpful. Despite have two large events on Saturday evening going on at the Hotel, the staff remained very pleasant, polite and efficient.
Review 34:Our room was very tired and not worth the £98 price tag. The shower didn't regulate the water temperature and the towels supplied were too small to wrap around you. Could do with a revamp!
Review 35:Staff very friendly.
Review 36:Rude staff at breakfast. Resteraunt too small for number of breakfast guests.
Review 37:Very clean. Most staff very friendly and efficient. All areas clean and modern. Perfect lunch. Bar and food reasonably priced.
Review 38:reception staff not very helpful, bar quite small and not much seating. More of a wedding venue than a business hotel.
Review 39:good facilities although spa closed for refurbishment
Review 40:We experienced one problem with poor Staff training in the orangery but this was resolved to our full satisfaction after talking to the duty management
Review 41:Staff excellent. Indian restaurant excellent in all respects
Review 42:Was disappointed that the bar closed at just after 11.00. Appreciate we could get drinks from the night porter, we all felt this was too early to shut what is a small bar serving a number of people
Review 43:We were only in the hotel for one night arriving late pm, going out, then leaving early Sunday morning so we didn't really gain a lot of experience of the hotel. The hotel served our purposes
Review 44:I observation, the cigarette bins outside the main entrance were not emptied enough and for none smokers does not look very nice. That is my only dislike from my stay
Review 45:The staff were very helpful, the hotel room was very comfortable and stylish. You were able to relax. I will visit again in the new year.
Review 46:We booked a familly room and when we arrived the sofa bed was not made up and housekeeping had gone home. I booking was clearly not read properly.
Review 47:We stayed in a recently renovated room with a ground floor'balcony' it was really nice.
Review 48:Nothing
Review 49:Excellent service.Staff went out of their way to help. Despite some reviews I had read to the contrary, before the visit, staff were well equipped to deal with a number of functions at one time. Indian restaurant on site best of its type I have ever been to.
Review 50:Setting was beautiful, hotel itself was clean and very well looked after. I would definitely stay here again. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Some people may have thought it expensive, but for what you get and the room quality it really isn't!! Highly recommend :)
Review 51:I was going to report a broken bedside light nearest the door . I forgot to tell reception.
Review 52:Helpful staff and a comfortable room with a very clean bathroom.
Review 53:Bar staff hopeless Restaurant staff tried hard but the food took ages and the poor man was mostly on his own My bed was uncomfortable The breakfast staff were useless, I ordered coffee as I sat down and it still had not arrived when I finished my breakfast
Review 54:Reception staff very good I was offered an upgraded room too
Review 55:There was a wedding at the hotel and there was a lot of noise that continued after 3.30am, children playing football outside rooms whilst people trying to sleep. The access lift was out of order which was a difficulty for our severely disabled daughter.
Review 56:The Hotel and staff were amazing the staff members who stood out were Harry, Rose & Pat from housekeeping
Review 57:I used my card to check and was told it wouldn't be debited as we wanted to pay on another card. I have found out they earmark the total cost of the stay then void the transaction meaning you cant withdraw the money from the bank for up to 10days. This should be made clear as most hotels only take a copy of the card
Review 58:the twin room was old and tatty so we upgraded to a executive which was lovely. high tea and indian restaurant, breakfast all fab
Review 59:Alex the Manager made it look as if it was a minor mistake to serve yogurt that had fungus and had gone past the use by date
Review 60:1) the shower doesn't work , more like a leaking pipe . 2) served yogurt which had fungus - gone past the use by date
Review 61:The hot tub broke during our stay which couldn't be helped but spoiled our plans for the Saturday morning. Also a bit of heating in the conservatory adjacent to the pool would have been nice as we stayed in October it was quite chilly.
Review 62:We chose this hotel when visiting the race course due to the spa facilities we also booked treatments which we really enjoyed. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean and bright the breakfast was lovely
Review 63:Maybe the staff a little "stiff" ? I mean "sir" at the beginning and end of every sentence etc... But this is just a personal thing, not really a complaint, I just prefer a more informal approach......
Review 64:A really good hotel for anyone travelling on business in the Black Country. Very efficient and courteous staff, good food, everything works well, loads of parking space and wifi (just) fast enough for Netflix on my Ipad. Great value too, not out of most business travelers budget.
Review 65:Couldn't fault anything during our time at the hotel. Was a bit put out that my daughter being under 18 wasn't allowed in the swimming pool.
Review 66:Friendly staff. Nicely refurbished and food was excellent.
Review 67:Very comfortable, clean accommodation. The hotel staff were under a lot of pressure, it was very busy, but they were helpful and friendly. Large free car park.
Review 68:very noisy at the weekend because of raucous wedding parties. Sheets very thin, beds uncomfortable.
Review 69:rooms were a reasonable size, breakfast was ok. Gardens looked very nice. Didn't use the spa areas because children under 18 not allowed in the pool.
Review 70:The breakfast staff on my last morning were a little lackadaisical - bringing the sheet for guests to be crossed off on to my table and not keeping the serving area clean or topped up but that was one breakfast out of 3 enjoyed plus 3 evening meals and an afternoon coffee so not bad. Also wish they had spaces for treatments at the a for hotel guests or publicised the need to book in advance more prominently.
Review 71:The staff were friendly and helpful even tracking down a particular flavoured tea I use (having forgotten tot ake my own supply!) In particular the young man in the bar (due to leave to join the army in a couple of weeks time) was very helpful making me a latte by hand when the machine broke down.
Review 72:Was given a room in a section of the hotel where a weeding guests were staying that night, they kept us awake until early hours as they were coming back making loud noises each now and then. Low shower pressure. Hotel hallways used to pile up chairs. large double bed is actually 2 singles
Review 73:Looked nice from the outside
Review 74:Inattentive and inexperienced staff. Ordered wake up calls and newspapers which didn't materialise. Waited 45 minutes for starters in the Orangery on 2 evenings which wasn't acceptable particularly as the restaurant was quiet.
Review 75:Good setting and a pleasant comfortable hotel. Clean and tidy and good facilities.
Review 76:The Orangery restaurant being closed in the evening and not being told after specifically asking as we had planned a family reunion meal there. The Orangery restaurant being closed on 2 of the 4 breakfasts and the one of the 2 that they were open, the food was cold. Hot plates, ban maries not turned on. Staff not really helpful.
Review 77:The Anja,s food and pleasantness of the staff
Review 78:Only downside was we would have preferred a view over the hotel gardens and grounds, instead of the barren field/wasteland to the rear of the hotel.
Review 79:Staff were polite and helpful without the obsequiousness you sometimes get. I requested flowers in the room on arrival and an ice bucket - both of which were there. The hotel was very clean, a good breakfast - again with attentive staff. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Review 80:Our room smelt like a dog had been in there all day. When I pulled back the duvet there was an empty crisp packet in there. Cigarette burns in the curtain. It was room 121 I think you should ask someone at the hotel to go and check what the smell could be
Review 81:The venue and the staff
Review 82:Total lack of comunication between staff. Re payment of 6+ rooms under one business account for booking in etc. Reception staff denied knowledge that this card was to be used for all - even though it was confirmed by another staff member (over the phone) that this would be fine and same card was used on booking.com/via phone to get all room reservations.....
Review 83:Rooms were lovely and spacious Great gardens Gorgeous food
Review 84:Cobwebs in the room. The food didn't match the price they charged. The room was above the function room which we didn't attend but we could hear the music well after midnight.
Review 85:The parking area was secure and well lit. The reception staff were friendly and polite.
Review 86:I used the spa upon arrival and was greeted nicely. The showers water was cold which was not pleasant. The jacuzzi water was dirty and the steam room was out of order. I had a body scrub and back massage by Becky which I would highly recommend.
Review 87:The hotel was nice. The breakfast had a good variety. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The spa staff was great.
Review 88:Terrible. We did not stay the night. Our two rooms both had a 'funny' smell. The lighting was so inadequate we couldn't see to unpack. Very frustrating wifi. Didn't work on some devices and on those it worked on, It kept dropping. We went to Premier Inn instead and had super, stable wifi. The staff tried to help but were disinterested really.
Review 89:It is a beautiful building.
Review 90:could have warned us of the major wedding events happening over our two night stay which meant very little sleep
Review 91:Fab hotel with great staff and excellent facilities
Review 92:Bed wasn't very comfortable and a very small double! So would have to upgrade room for more comfortable bed I presume? Was like a maze maybe a small map would be handy to show where and how to get to your room? No lift!! Wanted to book for night in half term and take our daughter but children under 18 not allowed to use pool so have to book somewhere else! Could do a certain time for children maybe?
Review 93:Hotel was in lovely setting, Indian restaurant was spectacular! Staff were very friendly! View was ok just spoils as having work done so skips and builders working outside, they did however really try to keep noise down, so we'll done!
Review 94:Lack of fridge in the room
Review 95:The room was perfect for what we needed but there was no fridge on the room. But that is the only thing lacking. Everything was great
Review 96:only 1 bar staff for 100 guests, when asked for more staff the prices of drinks shot up
Review 97:had wedding reception here and many guests stayed over night. all enjoyed the stay. the most beautiful gardens especially for photos
Review 98:no ceiling lights or plugs over the bed so hard to read or have your phone charging. No internal spa access No response when I tried to get room service A view of 2 skips
Review 99:It was reasonable to get a taxi from the civic hall to the hotel. The best was confortable
Review 100:Room was like a furnace, even with heating off and windows open. TV in room could not get BBC1 or BBC2 Lots of stairs (not suitable for a disabled or elderly person) Without sat nav would have been difficult to find as in residential area Upon checkout told could not issue me with a bill as system gone down. After 24 hours since stay, still waiting for my bill!
Review 101:Hotel had good amount of parking
Review 102:The value for money for this hotel was outstanding. It is lavish and pristine and the staff are very helpful and polite. Use of the spa is recommended too as the treatments were lovely.
Review 103:Reception staff at night spent more time booking her own lifts home than dealing with us as a guest.around 10pm. Young girl. We stood waiting and then when she finally booked a taxi told us it could be any time between 5 mins to an hour. Very rude young girl.
Review 104:Excellent hotel except reception staff
Review 105:Location & grounds were lovely and kept well..staff were great. Rooms were clean and modern, very happy with comfort of the bed. B/fast was lovely, can't comment on other food as only had b/fast...would stay here again thou
Review 106:The bath leaked onto the floor so when stepping outside it was a hazzard. I brought this to reception attention. The next day when I went to use bath, the same happened again. They told me thAt there was nothing wrong with it. I asked to speak to manager, there was no one available. I was leaving to return home and was assured I would get phone call from somebody and never did, I will not be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone.
Review 107:Hotel was great location and lovely facilities
Review 108:Rooms were a little warm, could do with a bottle of water in rooms. But all miner details.
Review 109:This hotel cannot be beaten and not just for the amazing price you pay. I have no complaints and I used the Room Services, Pool Area, Spa Treatment, Indian For Dinner, Bar in Day for Lunch and Drinks!
Review 110:Pictures on the website made the family room look amazing but in reality the room was average size nothing wow for the money I paid.
Review 111:Location and Carpark very good.
Review 112:From you arrive in the gates you know its going to be very special the decor is amazing the staff all have excellent customer service and expecially charlie who took the time out to show us atound this amazing hotel
Review 113:The service in the restaurant was poor .the young lady servicing at the bar was also serving the meals the poor thing was rushed off her feet which and a knock on effect to service .
Review 114:The room was very clean and well decorated .
Review 115:The bathroom was tired. After showering there was a poodle of water on the floor that appeared to come from below the bath at the tap end.
Review 116:The breakfast area was very light and relaxing. Good selection of food.
Review 117:Wedding party were very noisy from 7pm until 02am, despite being asked to keep the noise down by hotel staff. Very inconsiderate.
Review 118:Food was excellent, including room service.
Review 119:The bathroom in room 8 - Undercoat on skirting, door didn't lock as it could be pushed open from outside. The bathroom needs updating as the mirror was small and you had no where to put your toiletries. The master bed was 2 beds pushed together. My wife and I were separated by a lump in the middle where the beds met.
Review 120:The breakfast was good and the staff attentive.
Review 121:price of drinks at bar,our party was in room 1 and the fire doors kept banging shut when people used them and this disturbed our sleep, this could be remedied by tightening the arms on the doors so the close more slowley.the other nusiance was the noise made by guest who used the fire escapes to go outside for a cigerette in the early hours of the morning, dont mind people having a fag but keep the noise down or build a smoke shelter in the carpark away from the rooms.
Review 122:staff very friendly and helpfull, bar a bit expensive but its hotel prices seating in the bar area was really comfy and the decor and atmosphere was spot on .breakfast was brilliant the staff in there are a credit to you, very attentive to your needs.
Review 123:The toilet wouldn't flush twice within 30 minutes - not good with three people in a room. Also the attitude of the receptionist was appalling. Not a single smile and wouldn't even try to help when we had an issue. Wifi was intermittent at best.
Review 124:The food in the Orangery was excellent and the staff in the restaurant were exceptional.
Review 125:Bed was possibly the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in: two tired out single mattresses zipped together to form ajacent craters with the penines in the middle.
Review 126:Clean, easy check in
Review 127:For a ramada hotel the quality wasn't very good. It had maintenance work going the ceilings had wires and pipes on show not very safe and nice to look at. Not very appealing for guests especially with a young baby.
Review 128:all of it it was a fantastic hotel newly refurbished to a high standard we would all stop here again the staff cannot do enough for you the breakfast was lovely we bought the evening meal and it was really good would recomend it
Review 129:Its located in a weird housing estate. It doesnt feel very safe to leave valuables in your room but there is no room safe either. The bar staff took so long taking orders and then pulling pints and then messing about with the till that after 10 minutes waiting I gave up and walked off to the Indian restaurant where the staff were amazingly helpful. The bed was so uncomfortable i hardly slept and the hotel was under refurbishment so the heavy drilling at 9am in the room next to me was not welcome at all. I had been told the refurbishment was to the first floor so had asked for a room on the lower floor. This turned out to be lies. A giant beetle in my bathroom when i returned at 9pm after dinner put me off too. The back of the plug fell off the iron, the remote control had no back on it and one battery and the bed sheets had been used by someone else before i got there. These are simple things that a hotel can do and there is no excuse for them. I felt let down by the Ramada chain.
Review 130:The reception staff were friendly, the Indian restaurant which is part of the hotel was amazing and I loved it. The pool was small but empty so great. The outdoor balcony with chairs on my room. Priced only £72.
Review 131:Nothing bad to say really. We was a little shocked to see no ceiling along the corridor to our room and just loads of pipes and cables! But it never affected our stay. Maybe just a little explanation to ensure it was all normal on checking it would have been better!
Review 132:Lovely hotel with beautiful gardens! Fantastic hotel for a good night's sleep after been at v festival and a lazy morning. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was really nice! We sat overlooking the gardens while we ate. To our delight when walking around the garden we saw preparations for a wedding. If only we could have stayed longer and watched the wedding from our window as we had a birds eye view. It would have ended our stay perfectly!
Review 133:The place was packed with two wedding parties. There were workers and photographers everywhere even outside our room. We left the hotel without stopping.
Review 134:Location
Review 135:Not really a bad experience just I would have appreciated a lift as a mature guest but the staff were most happy to oblige with the carrying of my case. Thank you
Review 136:Staff were most helpful, the room was large ,well furnished and very clean.bathroom excellent ,soft towels and plenty of them
Review 137:The renovation work was a bit daunting with open ceilings but didn't spoil our stay.
Review 138:It was a lovely comfortable stay. Rooms well kept. Gardens great. Sadly I didn't get chance to go to the spa but friends did and said it was great.
Review 139:The noise level was very high. The closing of doors as guest left their rooms. The fan clicked all night which affected my sleep
Review 140:The romm was beautiful and clean Breakfast was excellent. The scenery from my window was wonderful
