Reviews for SW Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:Our apartment was at the top, so lots of stairs.
Review 2:I loved the layout, plenty of room, clean and well presented. Very convenient for town and Botanic garden.
Review 3:Very well run, comfortable, pleasant, well-equipped B&B. Attractively decorated. Lots of thoughtful touches eg dressing gown, earplugs, bottle opener etc.
Review 4:Room extremely small, short bed (and I am only 5'6). No extractor fan in the bathroom, had to keep windows opened. Very overpriced for such a small room and shared facilities (only one bathroom and a WC in the cupboard under the stairs for 5 rooms).
Review 5:Clean, reasonable breakfast, pleasant owner.
Review 6:The entire stay was amazing!! The bed was super comfortable and for a solo traveler like myself, the "small" room was perfect. Breakfast in the morning with Sara and the other guests was delightful to say the least!
Review 7:No fresh air to the downstairs room I occupied. Travel kettle too small; had to boil it twice for two people. Felt it was too pricey, but no other option due to the Rugby.
Review 8:Easy to find. Good communication with pleasant owner. Comfort of bed.
Review 9:Room was small (as previously indicated), but good enough for a short stay, and carefully arranged with everything that might be needed while on travel. Also, tea and coffee-making facilities were in the room. In the separate bathroom there were also things provided one might have forgotten (toothbrush and the like). Despite arriving quite early (around 11am), I could already use the room.
Review 10:The double room I had booked stated in the small print that it was for 1 person only so I called in advance and was told it would be no problem for 2 people to stay in it. Nothing was mentioned about extra charges, they just charged £50 extra to my card on arrival without informing me. I made the booking but was then unable to stay there myself, my friends were an hour late to check in due to airport delay and I found the landlady extremely hostile and unpleasant over the phone and my friends found her equally rude and unpleasant on arrival. It totally soured their whole stay and made them feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.
Review 11:Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Review 12:None with Sara. The location lacks any restaurants that are easily walkable. Although plenty of take away available.
Review 13:Suited our needs to go to RIAT at RAF Fairford. Sara made us most welcome. Her B&B is located about a 10 minutes walk from Swindon Bus/Rail Station, a local bus runs at end of the road. We had a comfortable and clean bedroom with a shared bathroom. The twin beds were also comfortable. The breakfast offered set us up for the day catering for a variety of tastes, we had a good fried breakfast. We would definitely and look forward to staying with Sara again.
Review 14:Shared bathroom I thought might be tricky but turned-out to be fine. Robes are available which come in handy.
Review 15:Clean Tidy Quiet location Friendly proprietor Great value for money compared to Swindon hotels.
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:Even though my room was small, which is reflected in the price, this is a faultless place, the host is lovely and could t do more. Fresh linen, towels and robe daily. Just lovely
Review 18:I cant think anything what i dident like, maybe just the fact that i dident stay longer!
Review 19:Everybody was really friendly and helpful, I can recommend this place for everybody!
Review 20:tiny 6 feet by 6 feet boxroom no room for a desk or chair had to share bathroom was there only when other hotels were full
Review 21:breakfast hostess friendly
Review 22:room next to kitchen/,cooking smell very promenant./no extractor fan in kitchen
Review 23:freedom to come and go as you please, the trust given the guest..
Review 24:There was no window in the room and we had to leave the door open in the night as it got too hot and stuffy. It was quite noisy early morning as the toilet was next to our room and so was the kitchen and dining area. Go for rooms on the first floor for less disturbance.
Review 25:Nice room - friendly helpful staff
Review 26:Friendly doesnt describe it. Sara ( more than a passing resemblance to Ms Lumley) can't do enough to keep her guests happy. Even the smallest bedroom is immaculate and sitting down for breakfast at the same table as the other guests is a delightful change from the usual dingy b&b.
Review 27:This is a fabulous bed and breakfast very welcoming, great breakfast, very clean and very professional will go back again and again well worth the money, really made me feel at home thanks
Review 28:If I have to mention what i didn't like then I only have one thing in mind which is the wifi that for me only worked in the lounge on my laptop so I couldn't enjoy surfing on the internet from my comfy bed. But I have to say that reception was a problem in Swindon in general.
Review 29:I liked the daily laundry service very much (you just leave your dirty clothes in the laundry bag and by the time you get back 'home' it's all there nicely washed). Sarah was fantastic, her hospitality is outstanding. You get to use the kitchen which is a great advantage and it feels like you are actually sharing a house instead of paying for a BnB. The entire house is beautifully presented, well-looked after.
Review 30:Was in a room next door to the B&B, shared with the house keeper!! Was like staying in someone's house...very strange! Got woken up at 5am to her talking to dogs (also heard at 10.30pm night before shouting at them). Shared (tired) bathroom with all the housekeepers stuff in. TV did not work. Noisy house.
Review 31:The room was small (I realised this at booking - its ok). The bed was a little creaky (it was suspended with a wooden board. I was worried that I might break it as am not exactly light).
Review 32:Excellent decor. Very nicely decorated. Polite and friendly staff Very homely Great breakfast on-road parking 10 min walk from the town.
Review 33:It is not always ideal to share a bathroom but this was not a real issue and is compensated for by the excellent value in charges.
Review 34:Welcoming, Cleanliness of room and facilities. High standards. Friendly, caring staff.
Review 35:I would like to thank Sara for her welcoming and warm hospitality. Such a lovely home with excellent taste in interior design! Breakfast was a wide variety of cereals and Sara was there every morning to cook breakfast. Sara and her family of dogs were a joy to stay with. Next time I'm around Swindon I know where to stay!
Review 36:Hygiene..My bedroom was not cleaned. Had to ask manager to empty full litter bin etc when I returned after 1st night. Far too expensive B@B esp considering the poor hygiene and cramped conditions. ie tiny bedroom with little space to move. Entire building overdecorated and felt oppressive.. No ensuite
Review 37:The Breakfast was delicious
Review 38:We liked the central location for day trips to Avebury, Devises, Cirencester, Bath, Salisbury, Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Bristol, etc. Owner was very helpful in suggesting places to see and how to get there. We liked the breakfast, the laundry, and use of the fridge for our strawberries.
Review 39:I didn't like the location that much. it is within a residential area that some might find run-down. As Swindon is just a location to stay overnight not he way to somewhere this doesn't matter that much. It is just a pity as the owner would have the capability to run one of the nicest b&bs in the country... if it would be at a different location.
Review 40:The owner makes you feel quite comfortable. Lovely rooms and good breakfast
Review 41:comfortable, friendly, all facilities, DIY breakfast
Review 42:Lovely stay and the owner is lovely to talk to Very clean and positioned in a nice area
Review 43:Very welcoming, excellent beds - really comfortable. Breakfast was top notch and host was a pleasure.
Review 44:The beds were soooo comfortable- truly heaven after 5 weeks of travel. Sara was most welcoming and the breakfast lovely. Thank you.
Review 45:Room very small. Perfectly fine for my needs, but could be too cramped if you had a suitcase.
Review 46:Good breakfast. Friendly and clean.
Review 47:SW is amazing. Very comfortable and tidy. The owner Sara was very welcoming.
Review 48:Very well kept. Excellent breakfast, Sarah makes great poached eggs. And she clearly works very hard to keep her guests happy.
Review 49:Very friendly owner.Clean rooms with everything you need and there's sky sports and movies in the rooms!
Review 50:Sarah made me feel very welcome and at ease.
Review 51:owner very helpful, went out of her way to help us. Went beyond what was required.
Review 52:Sarah the owner was excellent friendly and helpful
Review 53:Everything was just lovely.
Review 54:Lovely quiet place, comfy bed, clean, friendly owner

Review 65:Room was clean. They offered nice fluffy robes and towels for use. TV/Internet was good quality and fast. Breakfast was quick and tasted great.
Review 66:Nowhere to park nearby in, where I found, a frightening area.
Review 67:My comfortable bed.
Review 68:A really nice run place owner friendly Rooms good sky in rooms excellent I will return
Review 69:None
Review 70:Fantastic service
Review 71:bed a little soft for my liking
Review 72:big bed, nicely decorated room, great breakfast, very nice owner
Review 73:noisy because it's a busy place - probably better to avoid the room over the front door.
Review 74:Very comfortable, helpful landlady
Review 75:Swindon itself - nothing really to say about the Gorse Hill area
Review 76:Sarah is friendly and helpful Clean laundry Convenient location
Review 77:All good
Review 78:great place, great food and welcoming staff. The internet was FAB speed and breakfast leaves you wanting more. Look forward to staying here again :)
Review 79:The welcome Quiet comfort
Review 80:Friendly Staff
Review 81:Everything Sarah is very friendly en helpful Really worth your money
Review 82:It wasn't a thing!
Review 83:Room, bed, cleanliness, location, owner. In one word: everything!
Review 84:Named small room is 4 square maters.
Review 85:The landlady was a delightful person who took a genuine interest in her clients and provided a very professional yet personalized service
Review 86:sarah fantastic host new everything to know.lovely breakfast.everything you need, just take a toothbrush!
Review 87:Lacked personality. I felt like a number. The breakfast was served in the kitchen and the smell of frying fat was awful. The owner was rude to me when I arrived.
Review 88:it was clean.
Review 89:Having to share bathroom There were few guestsduring my visit - a full house would have stretched facilities to the limit - like parking, bathroom and breakfast provision Room was too fussy for my taste
Review 90:Owner was friendly, chatty and professional. Breakfast was good quality and quantity Room facilities were more than adequate, incl Sky tv.
Review 91:Very easy to reach location . Very clean and in the same time very quiet . Sara is very friendly and do his job with professionalism . So i highly recommend.
Review 92:very clean. comfortable. Very helpful owner. For example guests can use the kitchen, the appliances and equipment in the evening. The owner does some of my laundry free of charge. Convenient for my workplace. The owner is very friendly, we often have a bit of a chat, though my privacy is respected.
Review 93:Having a shared bathroom can be a little annoying especially if someone is hogging the bathroom and you need to go.
Review 94:Very friendly hostess, good location, Great facilities in the room - Sky TV, Tea/Coffee facilities and an iron with ironing board, full length mirror. Very nice breakfast.
Review 95:The wifi signal wasn't great and to get a good signal I would of had to go out on the landing. Didn't fancy that in my comical onesie ;)
Review 96:The owner was lovely, we had a great chat. She was also very helpful! Loved my room, it was small but had everything I needed in there, lovely to have Sky TV too. I did not feel it was too small. For the price you cannot go wrong! The breakfast was lovely.
Review 97:Absolutely nothing !!!
Review 98:SARA was a very considerate & welcoming hostess. One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. Thoroughly recommended !!!
Review 99:We found SW B&B very comfortable and clean place to stay during our time in Swindon. Sara is very efficient at her job and looks after her guests very well. Finally the central location helps to get other places within the city very easily.
Review 100:The shared bathroom had other quests dirty towels. The under stairs toilet was cramped. The area of town is run down. The fact there is no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, and the kitchen facilities were not explained so the kettle was never found!it being a modern "one brew"affair that my husband was not familiar with. Also thought it was overpriced for the facilities on offer.
Review 101:The breakfast
Review 102:Loved everything.
Review 103:Very welcoming host. Comfortable, clean and modern. Lovely breakfast in a lovely setting. Rooms have nice flatscreens with all sky channels.
Review 104:Although the road SW is in is quite favourable, the adjoining main road is very rough and I certainly didn't feel safe. Our room was a double on the ground floor and it was the smallest double we have ever been in with one chair and an ill fitting wardrobe. No tea/coffee making facility in it either. When the booking was made I was told there was a 'bathroom' downstairs which is false. There is no 'bathroom'. There is a minute space which contains a toilet and sink which is no larger than a large dinner plate. My husband couldn't even stand upright to pee. As for breakfast? In all of our years of travelling we have never known the host not to ask what we wanted. I hadn't been well for two days prior to our visit and so didn't feel up to a cooked breakfast, however, Sara didn't ask. I realised she was cooking (though didn't know it was for us) and so said that if possible I would just like a bacon sandwich. She then said "oh, I have done two eggs now". My husband being the gent he is said that he would have the eggs and I could have his bacon. She then asked if I wanted it toasted as she had already made the toast................................... The cereal was plonked on the table after we had been served with the cooked items and wasn't mentioned beforehand. It was as if she was going through the motions but really didn't care. We did not know Swindon at all and this B&B had been booked in conjunction with other things as part of a surprise for my husbands 70th birthday, as we were on our way home from Wales. Had it not been for that then we would have definitely left SW and gone to look for somewhere else, but it just wasn't possible in the time we'd allowed. It is not a place I would revisit.
Review 105:Upon arrival and prior to arrival, Sara was very welcoming and helpful.
Review 106:There was nothing to be disliked. Every thing was perfect
Review 107:I would like to say alot of thanks to the host sara. She is a very good host. If I come next time I would preferr to stay at her place. It was very neat and clean, well managed . Room got everything that I need and breakfast was superb. Sara is gorgeous. God bless her. I feel like i am living in my own home. Sara is a well organized host. Malik Atif.
Review 108:Twin room was rather cramped, no ensuit facilites or welcome tray. Toilet opposite bedroom was ,being under the stairs, a bit of a squeeze.. Shower facility was upstairs, not particularly convenient.
Review 109:My special needs adult daughter, enjoyed her night -time hot chocolate drink and her breakfast. She loved seeing the dogs through the window when they wee in the garden. It met our needs for an emergency visit to a very sick relative.
Review 110:The lady who owns it certainly made great use of the space, the only down side was waiting for someone to finish in the shower, it was a shame it wasn't en suite but that was it's only fault, the person made use of the space......a lovely breakfast, a very friendly person
Review 111:How clean and well decorated it all was, really chic, we enjoyed our stay
