Reviews for Jonestar Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:The farm track is always going to be an issue.
Review 2:Very warm welcome. Room clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast. Beautiful view. Lovely country setting.
Review 3:There was nothing, we had a great time
Review 4:Comfortable bed. Great breakfast. Very Friendly landlady. Amazing views. Enjoyable hot tub. Mixture of vintage & modern decour, with tv & drinks facilities in the breakfast room it was peaceful in the bedroom
Review 5:No TV or tea making facilities in room, I don't mind the TV so much, & understand the tranquility aspect but missed coffee. Not well signed on main road. It's pleasant, though slightly minimal rooms in a farm house, if you know that's what to expect (not a luxury hotel room) you won't be dissapointed.
Review 6:Stunning location & views. Very quiet. Would be perfect for a tranquil break. Charming host & service. The drive up, almost like a rally hill climb.
Review 7:We liked the location in the countryside.Maria did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing was too much trouble. She suggested a couple of great restaurants which we went to.
Review 8:There was a steep incline very muddy driveway upto the preperty, with asteep drop to one side. Not for the inexperienced driver or to beattempted at night as was not lit. Do not stary here if you are not adog lover as greeted by 2 very excited dogs jumping up at us and car.Lots of dog dirt on parking area and looked out of window in morning tosee one of the dogs doing its morning poo and scraping its bottom acrossthe carpark. There is no tv in any of the rooms and a note saying 'Ibelieve in people talking so you will not find any tv'. Yet theowner had a large flat screne on in her lounge and a smaller tv on inthe kitchen!! Also no hot drink making facilities in rooms. The note inthe room does say 'help yourself to anything available in the diningroom area'. But we came in at 8pm after a day out, dying for a brew.Went downstairs, no-one in the private area to ask but the 2 dogs (and 2TV's on for them)!! There was kettle and tea bags/coffee inDining room but no milk, so went to bed bored at 8.30 with no hot drink.Due to the location of the property, you are isolated and not able towalk anywhere and unable to drive as worried about coming back in thedark up the steep winding road. Breakfast was around 1 main table, theother guests were lovely, but even if you hadnt felt like chatting, youhad no choice. Cooked breakfast plonked down very quickly whilst stilleating cereal making you feel rushed. No cornflakes. 1 slice of toast,no question of would you like more or brown or white. Very hot platesdue to the fact that obviously cooked earlier in bulk and kept warm inoven, dried up beans and hard fried egg. On exit, asked to fill invisitors book whilst being stood over. Enthusiastic goodbye from thedogs who jumped up clawing us and car. Sorry I know this soundsnegative, but just being honest as I think people are afraid to puttheir true feelings sometimes.
Review 9:The peace and quiet and view amazing. No traffic sounds, just themoo of the cows which are bred on the farm. Beautiful and clean roomand toilet.
Review 10:The size of the room was more suitable for a single person. There were no bedside cabinets and it would have been difficult for a larger person than myself to get around the other side of the bed. No television and if we had not have planned to go out that evening my husband would have been bored. Also no hospitality tray in room although there were facilities downstairs.
Review 11:Very friendly hostess who has achieved a tasteful modern renovation of an old farm house. Kept very clean and nice views over countryside on approach to property.
Review 12:There was only one slight downside, there were a couple of small dogs which themselves were not a problem as they were in a different part of the house but you did have to be careful where you stepped on the driveway due to dog mess.
Review 13:The lady that ran the place was the most friendly helpful person I have met in a long time.Nothing was too much trouble and I actually felt I was at home having a friendly chat with my neighbour over a cup of coffee. Great views across fields from the bedrooms which were spacious and very clean. I was only there one night for a wedding but would have loved to have spent more time to walk and explore the area. Great location as on top of a hill but the track up is quite steep and needs to be taken with care, worth it for the views and accommodation.
Review 14:Very tastefully designed rooms, extremely comfortable stay, top breakfast. You couldn't ask for a more helpful, friendly and eager to please host than Maria.
Review 15:Approach up a very steep track, uneven and there would be a need for extreme caution if wet, however worth the effort.
Review 16:Made very welcome and shown around facilities. Room with view.
Review 17:Really lovely B&B with beautiful views. Owners were really friendly and went out of their way to help me on numerous occasions- truly lovely people!
Review 18:beautifully clean and fresh, smashing breakfast, would have liked hair dryer in room - but no prob to borrow one, would have liked tea coffee makings too. But again host very clear that drinks available downstairs.
