Review 1：They didn't have 24 hour reception, but the bartender stepped up and resolved our after hours issue.
Review 2：The staff was great, including the on site bar and the taverna next door. The little kitchen was a plus.
Review 3：Sometimes music at poolside bar a bit too loud, but it was only a minor point and didn't detract from the overall fantastic experience. Maybe just an age thing !!!

Review 5：The rooms could be more comfortable, especially the matresses, but you would have to pay more. On booking website could be said that you can come to Golden Bay from Heraklion airport from bus, it's only 2€ and lovely trip. The Bus stop is Gournes, the main road, and you have to walk for 15 min to the hotel, but it's ok.
Review 6：We enjoyed our stay at Golden Bay because all our requests were attended. We were given a quiet room with sea view. We had a TV, a microwave, a stove, a toaster, a fridge and air conditioner. We also had always hot water. The open air Taverna restaurant has a lovely view to the seascape. The food is excellent, both Greek and international. Many people came from other hotels to eat here. People from the reception, the restaurant, bar, kitchen and the cleaning ladies are quite helpful, efficient and polite. Thank you all!
Review 7：Disinterested Restaurant waiters. 2 hours to eat and pay for 2 courses was ridiculous! Smell from sewers every evening at 6pm. Hotel under flight path and cockroach cacophony from the trees when one flew over for 5 mins. Terrible exchange rates offered by Reception as nearest bank or cash point 3 km away. Boring place, no entertainment offered except a Greek night for 25 Euros extra. Slow go Wifi 0.1mbps at times.1 of the 2 bars shut because it was too hot ??

Slightly isolated location but car and scooter hire close by, beaches a walk away. Good for a quiet family holiday away from the mob, much improved with refurb. Now 4star but not by uk standards. Only niggle was people putting towels on sun beds the night before and no staff action on this. They put on a fun Greek evening and treted people well,
