Review 1：Party in the lodge till 4 in morning, very loud and rough, unable to leave room. Contacted hotel nothing done. Very poor service and choice in restaurant.No apology from management.

Review 19：Poor wifi signal in the room and house was frustrating. Airconditioning wouldn't reprogram: it was set to 26 degrees which made for a very uncomfortable night. Brasserie was only open for dinner from 6-7pm. Food was very average. We were given a room with a shower; did not realise we had to request a room with a bath. Overall, this is advertised as a luxury stay but I was disappointed the experience was not inline with it's luxury price tag.

Review 23：Arrived late and planned to check out at 10am but was woken at 8.30am and 9.00am by the cleaners attempting to get in my room. So whilst the place was amazing my sleep was rudely interrupted - quite disappointing.

Review 25：The dining room was very dirty, the floor needed hoovering and there were dead flies by the patio doors and food on the floor. The food both for the evening meal and breakfast was very poor, the breakfast was over cooked, they need to employ a chef not a cook.

Review 27：Noisy wedding and banquets on Saturday nights. Poor heat, no bathroom plugs, impossible to read with tiny low light lamps. A-frame camp style huts dot the premise front. A long drive to stores and eateries.

Review 31：I was already prepared for the lack of Wi-Fi after reading the reviews so that wasn't an issue. I did worry a little about the security of the rooms as it is well from the main building and when I arrived, the entrance doors were both wide open and there were no staff about. I was also disappointed that I wasn't aware that I could have used the pool as I would have liked that.

Review 33：I had contacted the hotel before arrival to find out if any complementary touches might be possible for my partner's birthday. I was told that they would speak to management and find out. I had not heard, so emailed again the night before to check, and did not hear back again and nothing was mentioned on check in. I didn't think this was good customer service as I would have been grateful for any small gesture and was frustrated prior to even seeing the venue. The communication could have been improved, we were entitled to a complimentary cream tea due to works going on but were not told about this and found the paper slip too late to take advantage. We were also not given the WiFi code for the building until we asked specifically for it.

Review 43：1.Room we booked and room we got were completely different. Talked to Lakeview staff about that and they said that its Booking.com webside not advertising their properties the way they want it. 2.Although Lakeview advertises that wi-fi access is in every room, that is not true. We did not have internet access in our room even for a moment. 3.Poor room service. On first and second day towels left on the floor were not replaced and room and bathroom were left untidy.

Review 45：We arrived late after a long journey but we were well looked after at check in, staff were very helpful and understanding that evening and the next morning. Breakfast was great. Room was very comfortable and well presented. We were very happy with it. I think they have done a good job of upgrading what is clearly an older property. The insides are better than you expect as the outside for the big buildings are a little dated in appearance but the suit we had was modern and beautifully presented.

Review 54：Lakeview is about to undergo some major changes which should hopefully sort out the problems they have at present. Basically the restaurant is very poor but a new chef has been employed and intends to bring everything up to date which is definitely needed. We stayed on Friday 28th August.

Review 58：Booked double beds, only twin provided - hotel blamed Booking.com for room allocation although they acknowledged double was clearly specified. Room was in an annexe house with long unlit and potholed drive (deep puddles!). Telephone in room not working. Restaurant shut at 2000, not 2100 as informed at check-in and shown on room information which resulted in last minute rush and wait for food. Very limited menu. Wifi not working - after trying 3 passswords, staff said 'router often fails and needs resetting' but no-one available to do so. Asked to speak to Duty Manager but was told that no manager available after 2100 and they couldn't phoe them at home. Did not take breakfast order until cereals finished which resulted in excessively long wait for cooked breakfast. At checkout manager completely disinterested in hearing about problems and dealt with another query during our conversation. Was told that my credit card would be held open for up to 10 days to make sure there were no 'additional charges' once the room had been cleaned. Overall a thoroughly disappointing stay, certainly not as indicated on the website - as a regular traveller one of the worst I have experienced.

Review 67：Breakfasts were disappointing - the first morning we chose smoked salmon from the menu, to be told there wasn't any. This took away two of the four options on the menu. Next morning there was smoked salmon available - my husband had his with scrambled egg and enjoyed it. I chose to have it with poached eggs on sourdough bread, which I was unable to cut through and so left. We also had a problem with the bath as we discovered the outflow pipe from was not connected to anything resulting in a flooded bathroom. Further minor issues - the difficulty in finding somewhere to sit to use the hair dryer and the poor access to wi-fi.

Review 68：The accommodation was stunning - we stayed in the Country House. The furnishings were very stylish and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful when we had a problem. Overall, a really pleasant stay.

Review 84：The room was jaw droppingly beautiful, so beautiful that we were unable to use it as there was no hot water. We contacted reception and we were told this would be fixed in 20 minutes as they were sending out an engineer. When we called back after 30 minutes we were told we could go to the main house and have a shower there? We then went over to the main house (for breakfast following a cold shower brrrrr) and got chatting to a fellow resident who had not had a shower for 2 days due to the hot water issues. The dinner was a bit shamabolic and we were told we should have booked but we were unaware and were not advised it would get so busy. However, we managed to get a table booked for 19:30, to be seated at 20:30, to be told that they had run out of most of the food on the menu, even when it was brought to us it was not as described on the menu. The evening entertainment was a bit more holiday camp/Butlins as they brought out Barney the dinosaur....then the live band came on to sing...we then left and went back to the room and enjoyed the only decent thing which was the beautiful view over the lake.

Review 85：Wi-fi was a little inconsistent and we had to ask for the password rather than it being included in the welcome pack. There was also a problem with the hot water in the shower, but at least the cool shower made sure we were awake!
