Reviews for Bartle Hall Hotel

Review 1:Not the hotels fault, but a very drunk guest who arrived back at the hotel around 3am was shouting abuse at her partner for 30 minutes disturbing many of the guests. Such a shame such a low life spoils it for others!

Review 2:The staff were very helpful and friendly. The accommodation looked fantastic on approach with great grounds. Inside had a traditional feel and was comfortable.

Review 3:Nothing to dislike. We loved our stay here.

Review 4:Fantastic stay at this lovely hotel. Staff were very friendly and gave an excellent personalised service. We received a very warm and friendly welcome. The family room (Bartle room) was superb and of high standard. We stayed on a room and breakfast deal, which provided excellent value for money. The breakfast was first class served in the garden room overlooking the gardens and was very relaxed but again first class. Will definitely book this hotel again.

Review 5:Shower was nice and powerful but the cubicle was a bit of a squeeze, compared to what I'm used to at home.

Review 6:Gorgeous location, a comfy bed and a great breakfast served in the morning, all for a great price. All the staff were brilliant, very friendly and very helpful.

Review 7:Not being able to open the windows. .*more than 2 inches* Plugs not in position with a mirror so impossible to blow dry your hair. (Ladies)..

Review 8:Excellent food ambience and staff

Review 9:The annexe we stayed in was a lovely room and shower room , The cleanliness of carpet and Wall decor were disappointing . Room for improvement

Review 10:The hotel and grounds and peaceful surroundings.

Review 11:The bathroom smelt stale and wasn't clean, the bedroom had a broken window which was selotaped back together. Room was small compared to other rooms in the hotel, last time I stayed in the 4 poster room amd it was excellent unfortunately the family room wasn't that good but for the price including breakfast it was ok.

Review 12:Friendly staff. Fabulous breakfast. Lovely surroundings. Good price especially for 4 people

Review 13:Nice secluded location and a superb hotel. Handy for Preston. Very upmarket feel in terms of decor. We were offered a free upgrade, as they had had a cancellation - wow! Great room.

Review 14:Nothing to dislike.

Review 15:A delightful country hotel set in a peaceful location. The Clifton, executive room was spacious and comfortable. All staff were friendly and helpful. We were impressed with the managers professional, attentive approach making people feel valued.

Review 16:The staff were great, very accommodating. Upgraded to the executive room and it as HUGE. Did have a leak in the room which dripped down into a bucket - but the management replaced it with a vase in a towel so was fine after that. Bar is great and the guy serving was helpful but it needs atmosphere. All in all a great hotel. Will definitely return.

Review 17:Not being able to stay longer! One observation...with delicious steak, would have preferred some green vegetables to 1 large shallot, 1 large piece of leek and few slices of carrot-over onioned?

Review 18:Only good things to say about this delightful country house hotel and it's staff, who had a refreshing "can do" attitude! Our overnight stay for my sister's wedding celebrations was so special...THANKYOU ALL!

Review 19:Zealous housekeeper leaving sheets and towels for next guests thrown down outside room at 8:15 ! Check out was 11am !

Review 20:Pleasant helpful Reception and Dining Room staff and their attention given to ensure a comfortable visit.

Review 21:booked this for my parents anniversary , upgraded to the ivy room, bed was comfy but problem with heating system which sounded like Concorde every 30 mins through the night , no sleep at all!! paid before my parents arrived and then they asked my parents for the money on check out , was promised a call from the manager which was never received

Review 22:good food , nice room, clean

Review 23:Disliked: Bed on the firm side, double bed should be king size. Family room had only one small bathroom/toilet. Yesterdays newspaper given with breakfast and not given paper requested. No facilities for young children, slight noise from the kitchen as room (Bartle) was above it.

Review 24:Liked: Location,grounds were lovely,good breakfast,clean, peaceful.

Review 25:The Ivy Cottage, which apparently is the bridal suite, was advertised as a super king size bed, but it isn't. It is a 4 poster bed which looks amazing on the photos. However the mattress sits on a wooden frame which unfortunately sticks out. Each time we got in and out of the bed we banged our legs on it and occasionally through the night we banged on to it. This is annoying and uncomfortable. We had a private patio area but the ivy is so overgrown that when you open the door bits fall over your arms and when you close the door it gets stuck in the door.

Review 26:First impressions were great. It looks fantastic when you drive in down the drive. All staff were excellent, very polite and met our needs. We booked what we were told was the bridal suite! The garden and grounds are amazing, it was quiet and peaceful. The weather was beautiful so we were able to eat our evening meal outside with drinks in the garden which was really nice. The food, both for the evening meal and the following morning's breakfast was lovely, cooked and served appealingly.

Review 27:The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Rooms were lovely, spacious and so clean. Beds were really comfortable and facilities in room were great. Food was a very high standard.

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:The location was quiet and the setting very nice but not far away from business locations. Food was excellent, with a lovely small restaurant. Also as a business traveller good wifi free of charge is also much appreciated.

Review 30:Quiet location with large garden. Very large bedroom. Bathroom with bath and separate shower. All staff very friendly and helpful. Good menu in restaurant and bar-restaurant

Review 31:I would have expected a much nicer level of decor in the room, a packet of biscuits along with the beverages & a bottled water in the room and a more refined bathroom for the four stars and £80 I spent.

Review 32:Staff friendliness and room size

Review 33:i was placed in the balm room and it has an ajioning door to the next room with is a family room. the door need soundproofing as i could here kids talking till 11.30pm

Review 34:very friendly nice location

Review 35:bedroom over kitchen, slamming doors and noisy also small. Dinner failed to excite, pea shoots with everything (even got them on scrambled eggs at breakfast) Vegetarians not really catered for particularly well.

Review 36:upgrade to suite highly recommended as doubles err on the small side but good shower. Staff make this hotel, friendly, welcoming and attentive. Breakfast excellent.

Review 37:Guests who harassed staff at a busy buffet breakfast when they were doing their best.

Review 38:Loved room and facilities. Staff were very helpful. Breakfasts delicious.

Review 39:I have not been there when the function rooms are in use - that might not be so good; but it would apply to many hotels that run functions.

Review 40:The peace and quiet of a traditional country house.

Review 41:Matress on the hard side for me - however I accept this is subjective.

Review 42:Friendly & attentive staff, food (particularly breakfast), parking, tranquility.

Review 43:Our room was acceptable only.If we had been staying for more than one night we would have changed rooms for sure.Although the hotel was virtually empty we were given a small room at the back of the hotel with a very small unheated en suite. Not 4 stars accommodation.

Review 44:Very nice location, friendly staff, good food and reasonable food and bar prices for the standard of hotel.

Review 45:Would have liked a double bed but I understand why many hotels put 2 single beds together.

Review 46:Everything else within the complex. Clean and tidy. Excellent breakfast. Great stay.

Review 47:No hot water for shower when hotel is busy. Draught from window and no heating in bathroom.

Review 48:Food is very good and reasonably priced. Standard room is compact but adequate. Staff friendly and attentive.

Review 49:Found nothing wrong with the hotel at all.

Review 50:The service was absolutely fantastic. The building had character and seemed the whole experience would cost much more than it did. We would make this hotel a destination in the future to enjoy the the great food service comfort and value.

Review 51:Rooms although clean are starting to show their age, typical 1990's decor. It was warm and humid during the visit and the room was very warm even with the window open.

Review 52:Located in mature gardens giving the hotel an extremely pleasant outlook. From the way in which the hotel is decked out it is marketed as a wedding venue. Staff very helpful and friendly and food good. Ideally located for the business I was visiting but also close to the Fylde coast and the Forest of Bowland. Good free Wifi and plenty of parking

Review 53:The wet-room was poorly designed & so the floor did not drain well. This hampered usage.

Review 54:Lovely location & building. Attentive staff. Good VFM. Well-equipped bedroom.

Review 55:The first room we were given was above the kitchen and smelt of cooking but we asked to be moved and the next room was fine

Review 56:The staff were really friendly and the grounds are lovely

Review 57:VERY SMELLY BATHROOM , POORLY DESIGNED SHOWER FLOODED ENTIRE BATHROOM , SMELL OF RAW SEWAGE IN PARKING AREA UNACCEPTABLE WI -FI BARELY USABLE

Review 58:NICE BREAKFAST ,QUIET, PLEASANT SURROUNDINGS, EASE OF PARKING ,WELL APPOINTED MAIN BUILDING WE WERE STAYING IN COTTAGE

Review 59:Excellent food. The hotel must have a very good chef. Charming and helpful staff. Excellent value.

Review 60:Everything can't fault it. The service was great

Review 61:Having to leave!

Review 62:I was attending a wake, and the compassion and helpfulness of the staff was outstanding.

Review 63:Excellent staff. Well appointed room. Beautiful grounds.

Review 64:No lift, however I di dget help with my luggage so not really a negative

Review 70:Mostly all

Review 71:N/A

Review 73:At night we found our room very hot.

Review 74:Staff very friendly and helpful, good food.

Review 75:Staff we lovely

Review 76:Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and breakfast superb

Review 77:Everything was fine

Review 78:Couldn't really fault anything. Maybe a bit cleaner/tidier in breakfast area

Review 79:The room / shower room were quite small

Review 80:Personal greeting

Review 81:The staff couldn't do more for us. They are a credit to the hotel. Would defiantly stay again. A class act !!

Review 82:Uncomfortable mattress and inadequate pillows; cool water in the morning for a shower

Review 83:Lovely setting; excellent breakfast

Review 84:Breakfast and nice location.

Review 85:The room was lovely and the food exceptional. This was the perfect way to remember our Wedding reception at Bartle Hall 24 years ago.

Review 86:nice country house with lovely furnishings. Breakfast was very good.

Review 87:Tranquil surroundings away from daily busy life. Gorgeous and very spacious bedroom with large well equipped modern bathroom with double shower. Staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Will most definitely be back. Thank you!

Review 88:Its a wedding venue, so in the bar in the evening you get second hand sales pitches. Rooms are a bit shabby for a wedding venue. Bathroom in Singleton badly needing modernising, but the water was hot! Driveway needs resurfacing, rough and not in keeping with a smooth 'big' day.

Review 89:Breakfast was good, included in my room rate. Bar food good value. Helpful staff. Glad l booked via Booking.com as standard room rate v.high.

Review 90:Tables in the bar too close together for comfortable dining. However the dining room was fine and rooms large enough to eat your meals in if you prefer

Review 91:Lovely surroundings, rabbits hopping around at night. Good good large rooms friendly staff. Great value for money

Review 92:Allocated St Anne's room which appeared to be over the kitchen and extractor fan. The room and subsequently our clothes smelled of cooking. If we return would request different room.

Review 93:Very pleasant staff particularly our waitress for breakfast. Lovely breakfast every morning.

Review 94:Really cannot find fault with anything

Review 95:Difficult to single out any one aspect -- but if pushed, our room was outstandingly large (& well-equipped) and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 96:Didn't find anything.

Review 97:I stayed on one of the annex rooms and it provided an attractive room with a great bathroom, very comfortable bed and excellent added touches of coffee, biscuits, DAB radio and excellent tv

Review 98:It was difficult to find the hotel with our sat-nav.. No good pub nearby.

Review 99:The rooms, especially the bathrooms! They make you feel very special. 30min drive to Blackpool and 1 hour to Liverpool.

Review 100:Couldn't work properly at desk in room - desk too high, chair too low, and too much of desk taken up with TV and Coffee tray

Review 101:Ease of access Quiet rural location Anxiety to please Beautifully maintained grounds Attentive service at breakfast

Review 102:Excellent service provided by all the staff. In modern times when good service is often forgotten, the staff at Bartle Hall were not part of this breed ! They were all fantastic, courteous & nothing was too much trouble & in doing so provided us with a superb experience - well done to you all !

Review 103:Noisy with passers by during the late evening going to a function room, a dustcart shaking the floor at 5:30am and a delivery van with a blaring radio around 6:00am. Maybe the main hotel would have been a better choice.

Review 104:Staff were great, I was in a cottage that was very well appointed, quite a surprise. Heated floor in the bathroom with a large bath. A modern 4 poster bed too. The food was good, the breakfast first class.

Review 105:Loved it!

Review 106:Beautiful hotel in a fabulous setting. Beautiful room for 4 with large bed and a twin on either side. Very comfortable beds and a good night sleep. Our best night's stay in England. We were looking for a room, having canceled another booking. Spotted this one right away, but held off on booking it, in case we didn't want to drive that far from Edinburgh. Roadside hotels were full and finally at 9:30pm on a Thursday, we booked this through the Booking.com ap. Arriving an hour later, they were waiting for us. What a relief! Staff was very helpful. Wifi, newspaper and full breakfast included.

Review 107:nothing

Review 111:I had a room in the stables with no window. Would stay in the main hotel next time.

Review 112:Staff were excellent as was the food

Review 113:Nothing at all.

Review 114:Everything it was a lovely Hotel in a lovely setting.
