Reviews for Hôtel de Sèze
Review 1:We were in the hotel for new year holidays and cleaning ladies opened the door each morning at 9.30 after the silence because we were sleeping even with "do not disturb".
Review 2:Everything was perfect! Design, comfort, location!
Review 3:Restaurant pricey Portions small Go elsewhere
Review 4:Fabulous hotel and location Room at regular price would be expensive but we got a good deal Tea and coffee facilities are not in the room but if you ask on arrival and insist will be provided
Review 5:See above
Review 6:Location and staff fantastic. Right near centre of town and to tram stop and river walk. Christmas market on doorstep. Brilliant stay. On downside the restaurant not open Sunday. Very poor. Bar not really open at night although night porter very obliging. Bar staff nowhere near as good as the other hotel staff. Quite unhelpful
Review 7:Having booked a superior room I was disgusted by both the size and quality of the room. There was just about enough room to walk around the bed, the décor was dated and terrible, the shower leaked. I could not understand how this was a superior room - god knows what a classic room looks like!! I feel I am owed a refund on the difference between classic and superior rooms!
Review 8:Location was good
Review 9:Not applicable
Review 10:Excellent location, near all main touristic places to visit. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were well decorated, clean and very comfortable.
Review 11:Not even the willingness to help of the reception staff managed to beat the poor taxi service of the town... One evening we waited a taxi for 40min and it never came... The spa area is pretty small...
Review 12:Great location! Wonderful mix of features of a boutique hotel with quality of a 4 star one.
Review 13:Food could have been more interesting. Limited choice on the menu.
Review 14:Good, quiet location but not far from the main centre. Comfortable rooms and good size bathrooms with very good shower.
Review 15:Rooms were very small the wardrobe was unbelievably small! But so does every hotel room in France so it was not anyrhing you didnt expect.
Review 16:The location is great and the interiors are all renovated so it is very clean and nicely furnished. Wi-fi was free.. If you are travelling by car the car park is just in front of the hotel.
Review 17:Nothing would have liked to stay longer
Review 18:The location in Bordeaux city centre is fantastic. The staff professional yet friendly in a quality establishment that is very good value. A genuine 4 star + accommodation with high levels of comfort and cleanliness.
Review 19:The room was a little on the small side but had everything we needed and was very comfortable.
Review 20:Staff were efficient and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was luxurious. The hotel was in a great central location. The receptionists couldn't have been more helpful.
Review 21:We stayed twice in this hotel. First at start of our holiday,4 nights. We decided to come back at end of our holiday for 2 nights & upgraded ourselves to a deluxe room but what we got was worse than what we had before. The room was very noisy on the 1st floor facing the road and the a/c was not cooling !
Review 22:The location is excellent, a five minute walk to the centre of the city and very convenient if you have a car , the underground parking is across the road. 20-25 € for 24 hrs.
Review 23:room very, very small small double bed (160cm) very, very small bathroom beep of elevator extremely loud in the room(s) we paid too much considering this issues (250+ EUR on a weekend for a Classic Double Room)
Review 24:staff very friendly and helpful good breakfast very good location
Review 25:Stayed 4 nights at start of our holiday in a superior room & decided to return for 2 nights at end of our holiday to a deluxe room & were given a noisy room on the 1st floor & a/c was not cooling. Very disappointed!
Review 26:The location is very convenient very close to city centre & all the amenities restaurants & shopping + De Tourney underground car park!
Review 27:For and area that produces wine it was very expensive to purchase in some bars and restaurants in the city for example, a beer and a small glass of wine was 18 euros in some bars!
Review 28:Central location and very helpful staff.
Review 29:Room was too small for two people travelling with bags, ceiling rafters too low for tall people, this should be on their website, obviously a different room would be better but when booking on line you are not told!
Review 30:Great position in Bordeaux Hotels high standard
Review 31:Some things are really irritating: light that switchs on automatically in the night when you are moving. Shower is letting the water go throughout the bathroom
Review 32:Comfortable room and bathroom.
Review 33:Poor WiFi, Spa And restaurant not at the level of the rest in terms of service and staff.
Review 34:Location is perfect, beautiful place and facilities, equivalent 5*, reception staff very freindly and professional.
Review 35:Door to the shower didn't rain closed without assistance. Seemed like a bit of a design flaw.
Review 36:Loved the location. Hotel is beautiful, inside and out. Staff was very polite and professional.
Review 37:Friendly attentive staff. Small fitness centre was handy. Air con was a massive plus as there was a heatwave when we stayed. Room had everything we needed with very comfortable beds.
Review 38:Our bedroom was too small for a six night stay for a couple with luggage. That may have been our fault for not understanding the dimensions of the various rooms.
Review 39:Staff were excellent - particularly in the breakfast room - and always responsive and helpful. The location was also excellent and within walking distance of many attractions and public transport
Review 40:This was the smallest, most crowded little hotel room I have ever stayed in. Less furniture would have helped. No view and overpriced for the size of the space.
Review 41:Very nice, attentive staff and clean room. Excellent breakfast with excellent service.
Review 42:Tiny room on top floor where my partner kept bumping his head on the ceiling beam that sloped down across the room. recommended for hobbits onlly but I guess you can pay more for a bigger room. It wasn't cheap though.
Review 43:Beautifully styled hotel on edge of historic centre and minutes walk from everything. Staff very good with excellent English.
Review 44:Wifi was not received well in the bedroom on the top floor but I didn't investigate as I didn't really need it!
Review 45:Bed and location was excellent. Nice quiet room on third floor
Review 46:The use of the sauna and jacuzzi was not included.
Review 47:The staff was very helpful and courteous, and the restuarant in the hotel was delicious. The location was great--w/in walking distance from the tourist office and major sites, and very convenient for an ideal walking/jogging route, which the hotel provided.
Review 48:Location is great - right in heart of Bordeaux but rooms are quiet and well appointed. Only slight downside is that rooms are quite small and limited on storage space.
Review 49:Grumpy receptionist who couldn't even recommend a restaurant in Bordeaux ! Toilet so small that you can't close the door while standing in the toilet ! Not enough room to lay out a bag on the floor - shampoo dispensers in bath hung too high- all of the above means that the rooms are too small in design but built to a high standard of finish.
Review 50:Location, cleanliness
Review 51:The extremely high cost of breakfast that was mediocre at best. Had to wait forever for the breakfast buffet to be replenished. That was very poor.
Review 52:The décor of the rooms, comfort of beds and the delightful front desk people-they were always pleasant!
Review 53:Nothing, it was delightful. I just wish breakfast wasn't so expensive. This seems to be industry standard not specific to this hotel.
Review 54:Every comfort was met. It is a lovely hotel. Excellent location.
Review 55:Breakfast 20 euros, too much! 5Th floor room dormers were hard to walkaround, easy to bang your head.
Review 56:--Fantastic reception staff --Lots of great towels and amenities; lovelysheets --Easy to walk everywhere
Review 57:Staff was helpful but not very attentive for the hotel of this class.
Review 58:Location, Room facilities. I stayed only 2 nights and most of the time out of Bordeaux city centre visiting wineries, etc. but I would have definitely enjoyed and leveraged this hotel's location if I were there for shopping - in fact I thought Bordeaux city centre is great for shopaholics (I am, from time to time). All the nice shops and department stores within close proximity and they are not packed with tourist like in Paris. And if you want to have a break from one shopping to another, there are loads of choices of nice caffe and brasseries...
Review 59:Lack of greeting often as we passed through hotel foyer. Staff often just peering over top of reception counter. No tea/ coffee facilities in rooms and unable to order on several days as cafe/ restaurant closed. Not good enough for a hotel of this standing!
Review 60:Location and hotel very clean. Enjoyed the beautiful furnishings and furniture. Staff were very helpful when approached or asked a question, particularly the night attendant.
Review 61:We went there over the weekend and discovered everything is basically closed on a Sunday.
Review 62:This is a extremely good hotel. I cannot fault it, everything was magnificent.
Review 63:The staff inclusive of Front desk, bar/restaurant, housekeeping, and room service were incredibly accommodating and helpful. We do not speak French and understand some, yet they were very capable of assisting and making our trip a huge success!!
Review 64:Toilet off bathroom. I'm not a big person but had to squeeze between toilet and door before I could shut the door!
Review 65:Location. Modern style. Friendly and accommodating staff. Really comfortable room.
Review 66:wonderful location for the golden triangle and waterfront ,delightful light filled room, extremely comfortable facilities, friendly staff-we will come again.
Review 67:It seems no restaurant nor Bar in France sell Becardi as this is the only thing my wife has.it was very frustrating. we have found this in most french citys .
Review 68:We do not consider our self ether a young couple or a mature cuple. We are in our early 50s.we had a great time .in the city.we where passing through.
Review 69:Room was really small Breakfast was a disaster, we were there at 10o'clock and the yoghurt was empty, the muesli was empty, there wasonly one slice of bread left, the cut apples were brown and there werefruit flies everywhere... For 23 euro per person I expect a goodbreakfast and not and empty buffet. Even after 1 hour the buffetwasn't refilled yet!
Review 70:Friendly staff Good location clean hotel and room
Review 71:Fitness room only has two pieces of equipment and needs to be improved.
Review 72:Friendly staff, but more importantly this traditional building has been transformed into a modern French boutique dream! Beautiful rooms with comfortable beds and powerful shower. Would visit again as our stay was excellent
Review 73:Staffs not that pro-active in going all out for hotel guests. But after a little nudging and displeasure from me, the hotel staff did the extra mile to assist me getting my 500 euro note changed to Euro50 notes. Well appreciated for this.
Review 74:Modern design. Clean room. Hotel staffs able to speak English.
Review 75:The facilities were so wonderful, as an American, you would expect something like "Ritz Carlton" service to go with it. But instead, it's a bit more like the Best Western when you check in. That's fine, but it extends to having your room cleaned. We were gone from 8:00am to 3:00pm. When we got back from a day of wine tasting, we discovered that our room had yet to be made up. The maid we met in the hallway promised to do it when we left again at 5:00pm. When we got back at 9:30pm, the room was in the same shape it had been at 7:45am. We called the front desk, and while they apologized, you were left wondering what on earth had caused such a basic problem. At the end of the day, we could only conclude that this was a management problem, even more than a staffing problem. They seem to need different leadership to run the hotel as well as it could be run.
Review 76:The location was incredible. Everything we wanted to do was in easy walking distance. The hotel was charming, with excellent architecture, and the interior designer/architect they hired to update the facilities did an amazing job.
Review 77:The front desk refused to make a reservation for us for dinner, which is not ok for a 4star hotel.
Review 78:Very nice location, beautiful rooms and bathroom, crisp linen and comfortable bed. Helpful staff.
Review 79:The spa staff could use a little more training on customer service. More English language channels would be nice
Review 80:One of the better options in Bordeaux. Rooms can be small, but the beds are very comfortable. Very nice decor and bath products. Stayed there 3-4 times and always glad to come back. Great location.
Review 81:The room had a fridge but the drinks were not very cold, but we must remember that we are in France not USA
Review 82:We asked for a room with a view and we had a room which overlooked the square with a side door opening onto decking with a table and chairs where you could sit and have an apero and look at the rooftops and spires of Bordeaux. Air conditioning worked well and great shower gel in bathroom. Close to rue St Catherine. Had drinks in the bar before going out to dinner.
Review 83:Could do with the bar staying open after 9pm.
Review 84:The rooms were small but beautifully decorated and designed. Great beds. Staff were very friendly and gave excellent advise on where to go and what to see. Happy to book a restaurant for you if your French is not up to it.
Review 85:No tea and coffee making facilities.
Review 86:The friendly and professional attitude of the staff. Wonderful room, magnificent restaurant and ideal central position.
Review 87:- Smallest room we've even been to (and we have been to some very small places in Paris and Tokyo). - Stayed for 4 nights, and was only transferred to the room we paid for after 2 nights (had to spend 2 nights in the tiny room). They wanted us to pay extra to move to the "delux" room because the rooms of the type we paid for were rented out.
Review 88:- Staff very nice - Location very good - WiFi signal strong
Review 89:The available TV channels did not broadcast the worldcup football matches; live stream thru internet was not functioning. Hotel staff could not fix it. Narrow rooms.
Review 90:Friendly hotel staff.
Review 91:Very small room - nowhere to store luggage. One bottle of water onarrival - when we asked for another on the second day they wanted tocharge us - very very stupid, as were were pay e299 per night!
Review 92:Location
Review 93:The light in the foyer that switches on and off with a loud click each time. Maybe management could change that.
Review 94:We were greeted with friendly helpful staff. The hotel is charming, comfortable and so convenient to all the popular highlights of Bordeaux, The room was on the smallish side but well designed. Excellent bed, pillows, bathroom, and separate toilet. I would thoroughly recommend it.
Review 95:Breakfast to pricey & 2 of our rooms were not ready until past 4 pm. Quite irritating since we were tired & exhausted from a long trip.
Review 96:Great hotel with modern interiors & good staff.
Review 97:So close to the Grand Theatre and other beautiful monuments. Close to the river and many places to dine. Staff was very friendly. Air conditioning worked great. The room was decorated very nicely and well appointed with robes, soft towels and a safe. There is a very large underground public parking lot directly in front of the hotel.
Review 98:Not much, just a few minor things. E.g the room and spa had shampoo but no conditioner; the duvet was rather too warn for the season.
Review 99:Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely room. Good wifi connectivity. The spa

Review 116:Deluxe room was great. Nice shower
Review 117:very small bedroom for this price

Review 120:Very small room size , If you ask advice re tours immidietly staff members send you to visit tourism office..
Review 121:Breafast wasn't worth it. Why pay so much when you can pop around the corner for a 1/3 of the price.
Review 122:The staff and location
Review 123:staff great, room great. location great. so lovely and pleasant!an excellent
Review 124:What a delight. Courtney's helpful staff. Perfect location. Gorgeous little city hotel.
Review 125:Paying extra to use sauna No swimming pool

Review 128:The only criticism would be the extremely small size of room.
