Reviews for Byass House

Review 1:Dirty blankets, clutter, dust and owners half used shampoo and personal items in the room. Also no shower

Review 2:Lovely looking house just shabby and In need of some love and lots of money

Review 3:Beautiful late 18th century house on a lovely street in the centre of the town. The room and facilities were excellent and full of character. The owner hit the right balance of attentiveness and discretion, so I was well looked after throughout. I will definitely stay again.

Review 4:It definitely feels like you are staying in someone's house, especially as the room has lots of family pictures in it. I didn't mind this but some people may.

Review 5:I loved the location, feel and decor of the place. It's perfect for you if you like antiques, high ceilings and old buildings (which I do!)

Review 6:The only downside was there was no immediate parking around the property. We needed to drop off our luggage and then find somewhere to park but this in no way marred our stay.

Review 7:We were grandparents with our young granddaughter and made to feel very welcome. The house was excellent and our room most comfortable and wonderfully appointed. We loved it!

Review 8:Price..much too expensive. Lack of parking, no space for our luggage etc. Unsafe bathroom with worn out towels. TV difficult to operate. In room tea/ coffee inadequate. S

Review 9:Breakfast and convenience of walking to castle and shops/ restaurants.

Review 10:We were very warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. The house is beautiful, and the room was very spacious. We'd definitely recommend staying here to friends and family visiting not just Arundel, but other neighboring towns and places in Sussex.

Review 11:No lock on the room door. No lock and the en suite bathroom and it would not stay closed. Hot water ran out. Clothes left in the wardrobe which was held closed with an elastic band. No dedicated parking and Arundel is busy enough street parking is a pain.

Review 12:No answer on arrival just after 4, tried landline, no answer, tried mobile which was given, owner answered, she was on holiday on a greek island!! That call would have cost me a fortune, yet at the end, when paying the bill, no money was taken off to offset the phone call, although i did mention the whole thing to them. Not happy!!!

Review 13:Had a great overnight stay with my wife & young 1.5yr old son. Sally was very accommodating, providing us with a decent travel cot & also opened up the main lounge room for us to spend the evening whilst son was sleeping. House was magnificent and very comfortable!

Review 14:On street parking anywhere you could find a space. Took a little while!

Review 15:Lovely house Real welcome by owner Room was light and airy Lovely full breakfast

Review 16:If you don't like the feel of staying in someone else's house, then it's not for you. Also although there are streets nearby without parking restrictions, finding a gap which hasn't already been taken by someone else is hard.

Review 17:Good location in the centre of Arundel. Friendly and informal atmosphere, makes you feel like a real guest and not just a customer.

Review 18:The wifi signal was intermittent.

Review 19:The property was quirky and interesting and the owner was helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and the bed was very comfortable!

Review 20:Very nice stay at Byass House and would certainly stay again

Review 21:Very friendly, very interesting rooms and very comfortable.

Review 22:Excellent location, comfortable, spacious room, quiet, excellent breakfasts and charming, friendly owner

Review 23:TV a little small for the size of the room but this was a very minor issue.

Review 24:Very homely Instantly made to feel welcome Breakfast Location

Review 25:Location

Review 35:nothing

Review 36:the house, the garden and especially the owner who looked after us so well

Review 37:The warm welcome and comfortable room. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.

Review 39:parking

Review 40:breakfast

Review 41:A comfortable & homely place with a friendly owner and very close to the town centre.

Review 42:The hostess couldn't have been more helpful. Loved the sunny conservatory. Would gladly return.

Review 43:Super comfortable beds, lovely breakfast in conservatory. Near shops, restaurants and sights of Arundel. Short distance from sea.

Review 44:Lovely high bed was just a bit springy for our taste.

Review 45:Warmth, location, view, garden, sun lounge, fantastic breakfast.

Review 46:Quiet, comfortable, a house not a hotel, lovely garden, easy walking area - close to everything

Review 47:Fantastic accommodation . You will feel at home! Great owner! Thank you!

Review 48:No shower in em suite. Breakfast poor

Review 49:Location friendly owner

Review 50:A shower would have been good but the super big bath was a good substitute

Review 51:Homely informality and welcoming cup of tea in sunny garden

Review 52:Just one tiny thing marred it for us and that was the breakfast on the first day, I thought it was not up to expectations however breakfast the second day was very much better both in content and delivery. As I say just a small thing but breakfast is important.

Review 53:For us,returning from a short overseas holiday and just wanting a couple of extra days in and around Arundel,it couldn't,t have been better located. We had our first day back in the uk just visiting the castle which is a fabulous place, last visited it eight years ago with my wife and whilst the main attraction has remained pretty much as we remembered the gardens and grounds have been immensely improved. Would we return to bypass House yes we would

Review 54:Smallest of "criticism", the bedroom was wonderful, but has a traditional double bed, probably not a problem for most visitors, but we did find it a bit small as we have a very large bed at home.

Review 55:Wonderful old house in possibly the best position in the town. The hostess, Sally, couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The walled garden was a delight to sit in. The advertised arrival time is, it seems, only a guide, as Sally was happy to let us in at any time, provided she was at home herself.

Review 56:Unable to lock door to our room - this could cause real anxiety for some people. TV sound cut out every few minutes. No tidying of room/making bed. Same milk in unrefrigerated carton throughout 2 day stay. Kettle on floor. Unaware of dietary requirements, despite stating on Booking.com. No shower. The room contained personal possessions and photos.

Review 57:Location. Nice house. Nice garden.

Review 58:No parking immediately outside, but we managed to find a space nearby. Not an issue for us at all, but it could be for some, if mobility is an issue. (Arundel is on a hill!)

Review 59:Charming hostess & beautiful Georgian House. Great hospitality and breakfast, very comfortable room full of character.

Review 60:For two tall persons the bed is a bit small, but that's a minor note.

Review 61:A nice B&B hosted by Sally, a kind and hospitable owner serving a great breakfast.

Review 62:I can honestly say I had no disslikes at all.

Review 63:Sally greeted us with a warm friendly smile as she invited us into her beautiful home. Our room was amazing so spacious and very comfortable together with Tea and Coffee making facilities. Breakfast consisted of Yoghurts, Toast, Marmalade and Jams, Fresh Orange Juice, Fruit, Tea and Coffee all of which were served in the Conservatory overlooking Sally's beautiful garden. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and would strongly reccommend Byass House as a must stay B and B.

Review 64:bathroom, although for private use only and very pleasantly decorated, was not actually 'en-suite'

Review 65:warm welcome from the owner. individual nature of the bedrooms, lounge and dining area. great location for exploring Arundel

Review 66:Rather too many of the owners possesions in the room and bathroom - including some clothes in the wardrobe! Only hand held shower attachment on bath. Artificial flowers everywhere. No key to room.

Review 67:Spacious room with lots of 'character'. Pretty walled garden. Easy walking distance to the Castle, Cathedral, restaurants and shops.

Review 68:Parking is a bit difficult - you can't park directly outside thehouse so you may have to be a couple of streets away.

Review 69:Lovely house with a nice garden. We really enjoyed Arundel - the shopswere very individual, and the restaurants were generally very good. Thecastle is worth visiting if a bit pricey. The seaside is only about 20minutes drive away.

Review 70:Nothing.

Review 71:Very hospitable, beautiful property & excellent access to Arundel. Wld highly recommend, will look forward to staying again some time soon.

Review 72:Nothing - would definitely stay here again!

Review 73:The hospitality, gorgeous Georgian townhouse in an incredible locationand the yummy breakfast. Sally the owner is a gem.

Review 74:Bathroom not ensuite Quite expensive for single traveller(had to pay for double as it was weekend) No room light at all just 2 bedside lamps.

Review 75:Comfortable bed Cooked breakfast Accommodating hostess Lovely character property

Review 76:You feel as though you are sleeping in someone else's house. The rooms are cluttered with items presumably belonging to part-time residents. The rooms are spacious but you do not feel at home or relaxed.

Review 77:It is a small B&B with a small number of rooms. It is close to the centre of Arundel and has convenient street parking. The rooms are spacious and homely.

Review 78:The owner is a lovely lady who has taken loving care of her property. The breakfast was fantastic and the room was magnificent with books and games if we ever got bored. It was pleasure to stay there and hopefully we will return next year.

Review 79:The two top floor rooms share the bathroom and toilet facilities. Also there ought to be an external lock on the bedroom door.

Review 80:The room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 81:The parking was not ideal but this was due to an event in the cathedral .

Review 82:The house was clean and the lady of the house was very friendly and welcoming. The location was great . Great value for money and would recommend to others.

Review 83:The bed was rather narrow, soft and springy which is fine is there is only one person sleeping in it but not so good for two!

Review 84:Friendly welcoming hostess Lovely property and views Great breakfast

Review 85:N en-suite bathroom although it was next door.Having a room with toomany personal items in from the host.

Review 86:Georgian house- very attractive. Nice breakfast- done to my dietaryneeds. Very comfortable bed. Congenial host. Very close proximity to allshops, bars, and restaurants etc.

Review 87:Very friendly and accomodating. we had to get up early as I was taking part in a cycle event, our host Was gracious enough to getup extra early to make our breakfast. The house was fantastically presented. A fantastic stay!

Review 88:The ambience of Arundel A beautiful house with lots of family memories and photos Very comfortable room & bed Great breakfast So nice to stay somewhere that is not part of a chain

Review 89:Nothing not to like except lack of parking

Review 90:Old house with lots of original features. Large room with lots of homely touches. Bed was a little unncomfortable for me but then i have a bad back so many beds are. Nice choice of breakfast. Friendly atmosphere. Close to amenities. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Review 97:Parking can be difficult, but if you search around, you can find a suitable space

Review 98:The friendliness and concern of the owner, Sally

Review 99:Location & accommodation. Warm welcome. Breakfast

Review 100:The milk for the tea was left in a jug for over night Plugs overloaded in sockets

Review 101:The owner was friendly It was clean
