Reviews for The Claremont Preston
Review 1:the extractor in the bathroom was in dire need of cleaning. the gust lounge was a bit dull.
Review 2:made very welcome by friendly and helpful staff. comfy bed in a quiet room. Good individually cooked breakfast.
Review 3:Found the Breakfast staff need to get there timing a bit better, not given time to settle at the table before they were trying to take your order and twice the cooked breakfast arrived before we had finished our cereal just need to be a bit more patient to over eager but very pleasant staff
Review 4:Everything was good accommodation, food, parking, and helping us find the place as we got lost nothing seemed to much trouble for them, Bus stop to town centre only yards away from the front door and very frequent service
Review 5:The staff were very helpful and tried their best to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Adequate free parking, reasonably good wi-fi and tasty breakfast
Review 6:The double bed was two single beds pushed together and there was no warning sign that there was a step going into the bathroom so my partner tripped up.
Review 7:I liked the clean bedding and the clean room, also the way the room was decorated was rather nice/stylish and the size of the bath was nice too. Also pleased that we could use Netflix on the tv.
Review 8:Very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. One of my work colleagues had a problem with her car the member of staff working help her find a garage and someone to help. We were made to feel very welcome and we would definitely return and recommend to others
Review 9:Nothing at all, top marks
Review 10:Excellent place to stay I go regularly with my daughter as I live away, best value in the are and the cleanest hotel I've ever been in for the price, breakfast is fresh n very good, all in all a brilliant hotel will continue to visit in future
Review 11:A bit out of the town. Bed uncomfortable for me (single bed with very poor mattress and I am over six feet tall so not a good fit!
Review 12:Very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast pretty good.
Review 13:A good hotel in a good location, very clean and modern decor. Good breakfast with selection of cereals and yoghurts but it would be good to have fruit as an option.Good free carparking although the car park was a bit tight for a family estate car
Review 14:Can not fault this place and have saved there details for next time we need somewhere in that area comfy clean beds nice rooms and a good view and a excellent service
Review 15:Hotel a little tired in places. Would have preferred a double bed rather than a pushed together twin. However bed was comfy and room quiet so had a good nights sleep. Had room at back of hotel so no road noise.
Review 16:Hosts flexible were happy for us to arrive early and check in so we could get on with our day. Good off street parking. Full English Breakfast was good with plenty of coffee and toast on offer. Would only have been improved by a slice of black pudding. Good value.
Review 17:We were greeted and made very welcome. The guy couldn't have done any more or made us feel any more welcome. The room was very clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Great breakfast. We would highly recommend the Claremont
Review 18:Stayed at The Claremont for 5 nights it was was excellent stay. The rooms are very nice and clean ,the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are modern and nice, friendly staff, fantastic full English breakfast, good location. Definitely recommend it.
Review 19:We were not impressed. They agreed to a ground floor room but we had to climb stairs. No apology, no nothing. The guy at the desk was rude & wouldn't even talk to us about it. And he knew we were not happy. Nothing special about the room. We left early.
Review 20:The shower was 'fair' in my opinion, not enough pressure.
Review 21:The staff were nice and friendly, the breakfast was very nice and the manager was helpful with our request to leave our bags behind whilst we did some last minute sight seeing. Enjoyed our brief stay.
Review 22:It's truly Faultless!!
Review 23:I would highly recommend this wonderful place. The staff are friendly and so accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I was treated like royalty on my one 1day stay, when i was given a fablous room overlooking the beautiful garden at the back of the building. The superkingsize bed was a surprising added luxury on my arrival, of which i was extremely grateful after a long drive from Scotland, bringing my son to start his 1st year at UCLAN. The room itself was faultless. Plenty of coffee and tea for brews in the room. Tv and wifi great. Bathroom and shower very clean with extra soft towels and toilet rolls! The full english breakfast was delicious and the young girls serving were delightful and very friendly. There are plenty of safe carparking spaces just a few yards from the front door and a comfortable downstairs lounge with TV. This is 'a gem of a place' and although I would love to keep it a secret for myself I do believe the owners definitely deserve the recognition for their fabulous B&B!! Thankyou Greg for your wonderful hospitality and I shall hopefully be back to stay again in a few weeks ☺☺☺
Review 24:Some painting in our room a little rough around the edges, no lock on bathroom door but for the price well worth it.
Review 25:Customer service was excellent. Kitchen staff even made an extra breakfast for a reasonable price for a family member who didnt stay there but came to meet us in the morning. Beautiful garden to sit in x x
Review 26:Nothing, everything was spot on!
Review 27:I loved this place from the moment we entered with a lovely smiley welcome to the moment we left with a smiley goodbye. We only stayed one night as was visiting family but would stay again and again. Best nights sleep I've had in months and that's high praise coming from and uncomfortable pregnant lady!
Review 28:No cupboard to hang long clothes, no desk to put laptop when working, unpleasant smell in bathroom on arrival. At the time of writing there is a problem with the quality of the drinking water in the county - water board recommend boiling water before drinking/cleaning teeth - no mention of this when checking in. Only know about this because my mother lives in the area. This should be mentioned to people when checking in to avoid health problems.
Review 29:Very welcoming receptionist. Good car parking facilities. Clean room.
Review 30:The room was pretty cold and the breakfast time too short and early in the morning (7am-9am).
Review 31:The room was big, comfortable and clean, the wifi was quick and the staff was kind. The hotel is not close to the city center or the station, but easily reachable with buses and in a residential area with several supermarkets.
Review 32:Some rooms, such as the one I was allocated, are in the basement. These rooms can, and mine was, be dank and musty on damp days (not at all uncommon for Preston). Such rooms, I strongly feel, should be designated 'budget' rooms and priced accordingly.
Review 33:Nice garden, nice lounge areas.
Review 34:Minor suggestions are that the double bed only had one pillow on each side which were very soft, some extra pillows would have been a little better. Also, breakfast was quite busy and the dining area quite small-we got a table however a few minutes later and we would have had to return to our room to wait (with a hungry 5 year old!) As I said these are minor observations, not complaints!
Review 35:The hotel was clean, the room was lovely with a nice fair sized en suite. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating (one of our party felt unwell on arrival and they sorted it immediately so that they could go straight to the room while I completed the check in process which was very helpful and considerate of them). The food at breakfast was hot, plentiful and delicious!
Review 36:Had an excellent stay, nothing was too much trouble and Dawn and her staff were very accommodating. I would recommend the Claremont and would stay there again.
Review 37:Would have liked a hotel bar, but drinks are on offer to take up to rooms so not such a big problem.
Review 38:Staff were really friendly and helpful and had set up an interconnecting family room specially, and placed us next to our relatives' room. Everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Very reasonable price and breakfast was good.
Review 39:Not enough sockets, had to keep taking kettle plug out, there were no sockets by the dresser, so when you want to use an electronic appliance I.e hair dryer I had keep going back to where the kettle was placed and now I do not a mirror because the mirror is on the dresser. My Son and I needed to charger our mobiles but there was only one socket. There was not enough milk to make a night drink and only one biscuit pack arriving just before closing. I called and said we were running late the room should have been checked for milk and biscuits this would have been nice, driving for three hours and not eaten since the afternoon it would have been nice to have a night drink. Lucky we packed some fruit and water, it was a warm night a jug of water would have been nice. Visitors can forget things and in my case it was the case, I forgot to pack bath products, there should have at least have reasonable bath products for emergency if this would to happen not miniature sizes which two people could not share or have someone on the desk to ask if they could purchase any bath products.
Review 40:On arrival the service was good, was greeted by a lovely man who then made small talk before we were told were are room was. The room was very clean, enough space to move around and the bathroom was spotless, I have never see a shower screen so clean. It was a warm night so I did have the window open most of the night, but the wind was coming from behind so not very comfortable. In the morning went to breakfast greeted by lovely lady who asked what would like, after breakfast went back to room and began to pack and get ready to leave. On leaving the hotel went to return room key, a lady was at the desk who asked how our stay was and thanked us for using the hotel.
Review 41:The plumbing in room 16 needs repairing. I woke up at 4.30 and couldn't get back to sleep because of the noise from the radiator. I'd just driven 650 miles from and had to get up and go to work. I was really disappointed because the last time I stayed here I had a wonderful experience.
Review 42:The people the location
Review 43:The bed needs replacement, the bathroom window is widely open all times, instead a fan should be replaced, the bath mixer needs to be put in shape, the pain of the furniture was done unproffisionally which gives bad impression, and last not enough towels were available.
Review 44:Staff were very good
Review 45:Whole place felt tired and run down. Had no hot water 2 mornings in a row. Room was very rough. Toilet roll on the floor as there was no toilet roll holder. Smelt damp .
Review 46:Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Review 47:Bed was a little uncomfortable for me as I have a bad back and used to memory foam my husband and daughter slept very well with no complaints
Review 48:Made to feel very welcome on our arrival staff very friendly nothing too much trouble breakfast was very tasty
Review 49:One of the bedrooms was not very well ventilated (1 window only v.small), however a fan was provided.
Review 50:The fairly convenient location, at a very reasonable price. Is ideal for a short visit to preston
Review 51:Short and sweet stay as stayed overnight for graduation next morning but they were so welcoming and helpful. Rooms were lovely. Very clean and breakfast was delicious. Wouldn't hesitate to use again.
Review 52:Noisy road but to be expected in central location on major route. I always sleep with window open so that wouldn't help.
Review 53:Cosy room with en-suite bath with shower over. Good breakfast with helpful and kind staff.
Review 54:The staff were lovely, the room was comfortable, clean and welcoming, the location was perfect for us and the breakfast was beautifully cooked and hot with a good choice, all round very good value for money.
Review 55:Shower was a little low on presure for first minute - then it was fine too.
Review 56:Comfortable bed, clean rooms, friendly, helpful staff, good WiFi, tasty breakfast, what more can you ask for from a budget priced hotel?
Review 57:Tinned tomatoes at breakfast, maby a choice, just a personal thing.
Review 58:Location was fine for what we were doing in the area, lovely big park very close to the property,
Review 59:Very welcoming even though we arrived an hour later than we were meant to, very comfy and clean bed, hot shower, excellent breakfast. Will return here next time we are passing. Excellent staff
Review 60:There was a very warm friendly welcome the hotel looked and smelt clean checking in was hassle free and the offer of local knowledge on places to eat drink etc was very useful would recommend to anyone
Review 61:Walls are far to thin between rooms. was kept up most of the night by two young persons talking and TV noise
Review 62:Room is very nice and modern with a gleaming bathroom A+++
Review 63:Nothing did not like and was excellent value for money, some of the areas could do with a tidy up..........
Review 64:Location and grounds were ideal for my needs.....excellent breakfast and upgrade to a double as I had booked a single.......
Review 65:Friendly people, everything worked perfectly, location. I was mixing business and pleasure and the Claremont helped me to have a good time and get everything I needed to do done. My thanks to them.
Review 66:The owners are clearly in the middle of upgrading the property and it is coming along nicely although a bathroom in one of our rooms was rather run down. Not a dislike, just an observation during upgrade works.
Review 67:I liked the friendliness of staff and the welcome we received despite being a young group of friends on a blackpool trip. Location was brilliant for the drive in and out to the beach.
Review 68:Nothing to complain
Review 69:Everything. The design of the room is a bit better then basic but its really clean and comfortable and worth every penny we spent. Thanks a lot.
Review 70:With such great service its a pity there was no restraunt for evening meal but then that would make it a hotel wouldn't it. Can't think of a negative.
Review 71:Very friendly team and nothing was a bother. The team checked I had every thing I needed and even checked my WIFI signal was strong enough (a new router had just been installed). I had full strength in every area of the house.
Review 72:Food not as good as expected. Ordered a lamb "roast" but was served lamb chops with fries. Get your labels right. Not impressed with the dinner buffet - chose a la carte instead but still only average. Due to renovations we had to walk too far to room. (We are elderly and i have arthritis - but we still chose the hotel BECAUSE of the runway view.) Surely a shorter route was possible to arrange.
Review 73:The view of the runways.
Review 74:Clean, comfortable, with good-sized room, good value for money. Can't say anything about breakfast because I didn't have any but overheard someone else complimenting them on it
Review 75:Free WiFi had very poor reception Shower pressure was more like a mixer tap
Review 76:Recently built rooms Helpful staff Nice breakfast Very clean Best value for money in the area
Review 77:The hotel did not do evening meal although they recommended a pub with all day food a short walk away
Review 78:Helpful and friendly hotel clean because I could not stay for breakfast because of early departure they told me to help myself to serials ect. Free wi fi and on site parking
Review 79:everything about the hotel was wonderful, the breakfasts are heavenly and plenty of it. we had room 18 on the ground floor as i am very bad on my legs, and it was absolutely wonderful, it was one of the rooms that had been refurbished and it was brilliant.
Review 80:I had booked a double room but got a twin. This was changed when I told the staff. Unable to get shower to run hot or warm. Specifically asked if hair dryer was in room and told yes...there wasn't one!.
Review 81:Breakfast
Review 82:There was nothing we didn't like but just a couple of tips maybe - beds could have done with a bit of sprucing up, made a bit more neatly (looked like the duvet had just been thrown over) and maybe some nice coloured cushions on them. Also found it hard to get to the sockets in room 18 to use my hairdryer - there were none by a mirror. Had to go to my mum's room next door to blow dry hair. These are not complaints - just tips for future reference.
Review 83:Big bedrooms, mine had 2 double beds and my mother's had a single and a double. All just newly refurbished. Very quiet and clean. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Review 84:For the price& location there was nothing to dislike.
Review 85:Family type room allocated to us,heating very good, plenty of hot water, nice slimline TV on wall.
Review 86:Incredible value, a warm welcome and a comfortable room for the night. Everything you could possibly ask for from a B&B. Also the breakfast was great in the morning.
Review 87:Nothing
Review 88:The hotel was easy to find and the staff very welcoming. The room was basic but very clean and adequate. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
Review 89:Friendly & helpful welcoming owner, plenty parking. A modest property close to Preston centre & main roads that is being well maintained & by the looks constantly improved. Loved the good sized bedroom, fab shower. Staff & breakfast couldn't be better. Will come again.
Review 90:Everything was grreat !! No complaints.
Review 91:Loved the cosy room; they provided 2 double-beds for 3+1 of us, which was great. The room was newly refurbished and warm. Staff was very nice and took great care of us.
Review 92:The staff were friendly and helpful. The room décor was a bit dated but it was warm, clean and comfortable with plenty of room. The breakfast was excellent. I will definitely go back.
Review 93:My guest had a room at the front of the hotel and being a light sleeper was kept awake for most of the night by the passing traffic.
Review 94:Very good full breakfast which we both enjoyed.
Review 95:Bedrooms were well furnished and maintained. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, served in pleasant dining room. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Review 96:Only complaint if any would be the road outside is quite noisy but there isn't a lot they can do about that
Review 97:i stayed in room 2. It was a large room, furnished very tastefully has a large en-suite with a corner bath tub and shower. If I'm working in the area again I will definitely be staying here.
Review 98:Straightforward B&B experience. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quick to arrive and delicious. More than happy to recommend.

Review 107:Having a shower room at home I was pleased to see a bath , waited all day to have a long awaited soak , but no plug , couldn't get hold off any staff at the evening , to get one , aS gutted
Review 108:Great comfortable place , close to amenities,
Review 109:Furniture and bathroom facilities were a bit old Carpet was a bit dirty around corners No toiletries provided Small tv (but i think this is standard in b&bs)
Review 110:Comfortable bed Free tea and coffee in room Good size bedroom and onsuite Good breakfast Good parking
Review 111:except the price meant not to expect much and was told we were given a double instead of a single room. but sorry room very very old with bathroom tile grout covered in black what looked like mould. Would not have been happy if i'd have taken a lady friend !! Make sure you find out what time breakfast is ! Sunday morning with a very long journey ahead my friend and I came down to find a dark reception and finding out breakfast didn't start till 9am First time I've ever seen breakfast start that late. Had to give it a miss so no comment on that one. All in all very low budget so be aware
Review 112:lady who booked my friend and I was pleasant
Review 113:it's a budget hotel, with an above budget breakfast, what's not to like!!!
Review 114:Warm welcome, well heated hotel, with super comfortable beds, the breakfast was yummy , cooked and served by a friendly young lady. The lady who runs the hotel was also very easy to chat to and very helpful. Plenty of extras in the room, finally a hotel that offers you more that 4 of those little milk pots. I will definitely stay again next time I am visiting Preston.
Review 115:Unable to get anybody at reception at night or in the morning so had to leave without an invoice. Hotel feels dirty, no power and intermittent heat in the shower.
Review 116:Not much, cheap and nice breakfast.
Review 117:No Bath! Hot water not quite hot enough.
Review 118:Clean comfy bed Spotless cutlery crockery tablecovers and a good breakfast It was good value for money and I found it by chance when visiting an unknown area.Staff friendly too.
Review 119:Shower lacked power and took a while to work out how to adjust temp.
Review 120:Very friendly and helpful staff, upgraded to a double room even though I had booked a single. Great breakfast!
Review 121:Bed was a bit firm and decor/furniture a bit old - but very cozy, full of charm and great value for money.
Review 122:Very hospitable and family-style running. Friendly. Great breakfast.
Review 123:Carpet and reception area was a bit worn. But hey I wasn't sleeping there plus when the room next door used their extractor fan in the bathroom I could hear it. Sounds louder late at night
Review 124:I liked the warm welcome received at reception and the spacious room for the 4 of us. There was plenty of tea facilities in the bedroom. It was a quiet night sleep and the breakfast was great. The girls who worked at breakfast were great.
Review 125:Nothing really. My husband did have trouble with the hot water in the shower but mine was fine ☺
Review 126:For what we paid the room was good. like most of the comments we did find the room a bit dated but had everything you needed. The staff was excellent and very helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast very much and would stay again if in the area.
