Reviews for Barons Court Hotel

Review 1:I didn't find anything not to like

Review 2:I liked everything on this hotel. The building is full of character and charm, and very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Everything superb!

Review 3:The only problem we found was that the mattresses were too hard and sunk so you feel like you're rolling to the side. I tried to turn my mattress but it didn't help! Didn't get much sleep over our two nights

Review 4:We were visiting family for Christmas and the location was excellent for that. The hotel is lovely with interesting decor. The staff are very friendly and welcoming

Review 5:Staff very welcoming, they couldn't do enough for us. Food, excellent, catered for everybody's needs. Great location a short taxi ride to the town centre.

Review 6:This is our second stay at this hotel in the last six months. The room we had this time was a little small but it served its purpose. We have already booked for later on in the year.

Review 7:We've stay here many times to visit family, and always been made welcome by Keith. We love the quirkiness & location of the hotel, it's perfect for us.

Review 8:Decor: could do with a makeover including a bit of paint on the bathroom radiator.

Review 9:It was easy to find in the dark. Parking was easy. Bed was comfortable. Didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on it.

Review 10:It was raining.

Review 11:Quirky, interesting, homely feel. Very clean room and bathroom. Breakfast was very good value for money. On site car parking. Very helpful manager who drew a sketch map of the way to walk to the local Indian restaurant. Lounge area looked delightful dressed for Christmas.

Review 12:It was freezing cold, upstairs and down! I woke and the top of the duvethad condensation on it it was that cold. The staff were not verywelcoming. There was no bar or place to have any kind of drink. It feltlike you were staying at a crazy uncle's house rather than a hotel.the room was TINY. facilities

Review 13:If you like qwerky things, the decor is very interesting.you get a rocky bar on the tea and coffee tray

Review 14:We love staying here, it's friendly, welcoming, comfortable and they do a great breakfast! It's a treasure trove of historical artefacts & the lounge is amazing. Thoroughly recommended!

Review 15:Only problem was that I couldn't get online using the hotel's WiFi, but this didn't really affect me as I was happy to have a night off from my emails, so I didn't even bother mentioning it.

Review 16:Hotel was within an easy taxi ride of the town, but far enough out that traffic noise wasn't a problem. Staff very friendly, and the room had everything I needed.

Review 17:N/A

Review 18:Friendly reception on arrival. Excellent accommodation which was clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Value for money, we will be using this hotel again.

Review 19:It's obviously an old building and the interior isn't very modern but at this price you really can't complain - just consider it part of the charm!

Review 20:Lovely cosy little place, great value

Review 21:Told breakfast was 7-9am. Tried to get breakfast at 8.50am and told the kitchen was closed. Bad customer service, manager didn't apologise or offer toast or cereal.

Review 22:Clean

Review 23:It was a wonderful building but no evening meal! For this price you do not expect to have to go and find somewhere to eat! In my case the only place within easy distance that I found was a pub which only served pretty ordinary Indian! Not good!

Review 24:Nice building but hard to find

Review 25:Owner greeted us, was very welcoming and organised... We had 6 rooms and everyone thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you Keith for everything, I will be recommending your hotel and we will definitely be back next year x

Review 26:Good location to the town centre and off road parking. Lots of quirky things going on all over the B&BB, which will keep your children occupied. Great Breakfast to keep you going for a good few hrs! Great value for the money.

Review 27:Quirky hotel with lots of things to look at,glad I don't have to do the dusting! Clean, comfortable room with lovely en suite bathroom! Nice to have the added touch of hot choc sachets and chocolate biscuits with the usual tea/coffee in the room! Would definitely stay again when in Wolverhampton!

Review 28:slightly noisy water heater in cupboard (rooms 9 & 10)

Review 29:Great location (£6 cab fare to civic hall), great breakfast, great staff, free parking, quirky décor, comfy bed

Review 30:The water was cold owing to a trip switch fault but this was fixed straightaway and didn't present a problem. Well done for sorting out any hiccups like this so professionally!

Review 31:A really quirky place with a fabulous arts and craft feel. An aesthetic joy!

Review 32:Nothing.....not a complaint but car park filled up by the time we got back at 11.30pm but plenty of free parking on road outside.

Review 33:lovely interesting B&B, lots of fab things to look at. Room was warm, clean, nice breakfast, great value for money. Super soft bed which I loved very comfy! Many Thanks.

Review 34:None

Review 35:We have used Baron's Court three times in the last few months, and it has never failed to provide for our needs. The proprietor has gone out of his way to help us out on more than one occasion. It was hard to find dust, and my wife is good at finding it! It is quirky in it's period buildings and decor, and the best value place around!

Review 36:The bed could have be a bit bigger and the mattress somewhat harder. The place is quite, but the next pub is too far away.

Review 37:The Barons Court ist somewhat special decorated, but in a kind of lovely way. The breakfast was a large one, but could have be a bit less greasy.

Review 38:Very clean and tidy. Rooms warm comfortable and adequate. Manager was available without being overbearing. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast to order.

Review 39:Absolutely Nothing, it was perfect.

Review 40:Friendly Staff that couldn't do more for you, Fantastic beautiful hotel, comfy beds, fantastic price, tasty breakfast, well worth a visit.

Review 41:Bed was a little creaky whenever you moved, but it was comfortable. Had three pillows the first night, but one had been taken away when i came back from my day out on the second day. Shower was a mixer tap on the bath, and the maximum height was a little low for me, ideal for anyone under 6 foot though.

Review 42:Easy to find in a quiet residential area, and walkable from the city centre, i did this a few times and it's about 30 minutes. Checked in the night before Halloween and was amused to find the hotel decorated out and some spooky music playing in the lounge. Room was spacious and warm, and a bonus to get a free bottle of water, choccie biscuit and hot chocolate sachet along with the usual tea and coffee selection.

Review 43:A hotel with character and history, reachable in about 12 minutes by bus from central Wolverhampton Bus Station. I was lucky to stay the night of Halloween, as the decorations were truly amazing - the lounge was like a chamber of horrors!

Review 44:We were impressed as soon as we turned into the driveway. Beautiful garden and exterior. Parking facilities were great. The Baron's Court hotel has so much character and individuality. Wish we'd had more time based at the hotel to explore more. Rooms were spotless, as were the bathrooms.

Review 45:what a little gem, such a shock, beautiful inside and the breakfast WOW ! lovely comfy bed and friendly staff , great value for money ,couldnt ask for more .

Review 46:Was asked if I required breakfast on the Saturday morning, said yes, but would be leaving at 7.30am and was told breakfast only began at 8.00am and wasn't even offered continental even though this could have easily been accommodated. I then read in the hotel information that breakfast could be requested earlier at the weekend, most perplexing.

Review 47:Very accommodating, no problems with a fairly late arrival on the first evening

Review 48:Nothing to dislike.

Review 49:A beautiful listed building but with all the comforts you would expect from a modern hotel. Friendly and welcoming host. Close to bus routes, shops and restaurants.

Review 50:Nice boutique hotel. Very reasonably priced and great value for money. I checked in late by 9pm and was greeted by a friendly owner. He showed my room and explained the amenities. I see no reason for not booking this hotel again if I don't get my usual hotel in Wolverhampton

Review 51:Manic about cleanliness and dust, we may have called the same day as the cleaners, or it is really clean at all times. We suspected the latter, and were very impressed! Couldn't find dust even amongst the fantastic collection of antiques on display everywhere!

Review 52:tv signal pathetic, good job I had wifi and laptop to watch tv on.

Review 53:Friendly helpful staff, decent bed, free bottle of water, decent shower, nice clean room. Decent wifi signal.

Review 54:A few things I didn't like was the issue with hot water in the bathroom the water was cold. We informed the manager and he came straight away to sort it out. Then again in the morning both my partner and I had a cold shower again. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night which appeared to be a false alarm so that disturbed our sleep. Overall a nice and comfortable hotel but things like having hot water in the room should be a priority for paying customers.

Review 55:The room was nice and clean and comfortable.

Review 56:The room was quite small, though cosy and clean

Review 57:The manager was very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, nice bathroom, hot water, white fluffy towels. A kettle in the room and the tea things were just what we needed after a long day! The hotel yard is beautifully landscaped, wonderful garden.

Review 58:It is not close to city centre and the room was cold

Review 59:The decoration of the hotel was nice, staff were friendly and it was easy to find. It was also good value for money.

Review 60:Pillows were a little hard

Review 61:Car park behind house Clean and comfortable room Free WiFi Good breakfast options Comfortable bed Great staff - very welcoming and helpful

Review 62:Very comfortable bed, minimal noise even with the main road just outside, very comfortable bed;I don't normally sleep when I'm in a hotel but I slept like a baby, great welcome and the manager is very friendly, no facility to dine during the evening but if you order take away cutlery etc is provided and you can choose to eat in the drawing room.

Review 63:I was left standing for a while when I arrived, and was then shown in to a room that was a bit smelly (too much air freshening, hiding either the smell of stale cigarette smoke or just the rather old carpet, or both). The bed was clean with fresh sheets but the covers were old and the pillows were rock hard. When I tried to check out at 8.30am there were no staff - phoned reception and got a very sleepy-sounding manager who told me to go find the breakfast cook (who, incidentally, was smiley and lovely).

Review 64:The breakfast was lovely and the soap was nice. I only paid £45 (plus £7 breakfast), so it was pretty cheap. Bathroom was spotless. In many ways I can't complain as you get what you pay for, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Review 65:difficult to stay as we were only there briefly...the location didnt seem the best as it was in a residential spot and out of the centre.

Review 66:nice clean hotel, free parking, wi-fi free throughout, comfortable

Review 67:Friendly welcome with helpful staff. Lots of free tea, coffee, drinking chocolate and some biccies in the room. Hot shower Superb and enormous breakfast with a wide choice, served on really hot plates A convenient base to explore the region.

Review 68:Felt the cooked breakfast was very poor quality for the price. Cheep sausages, and poor quality black pudding and small amounts

Review 69:Bathroom size very good, the little touches in the bedroom such as the rocky bars and complimentary water. the bed was also very comfy.

Review 70:Beautiful listed building, dressed to prefection, staff very helpful, quiet, clean and comfortable, would stay again. Highly recommended, only downside dinner not available in house, but We could have ordered takeaway and eaten in the dining room with plates and cutlery provided if we had wanted a bit inconvenient but not really a downside I suppose.

Review 71:Traffic noise at night quite bad - not the hotel's fault. Cushions in the room a little the worse for wear - best just to get rid and leave the bed and clean linen to speak for itself.

Review 72:Lovely hotel in Arts & Crafts house with a beautifully kept garden. Ample car parking. Owner friendly and helpful. Substantial, well cooked breakfast.

Review 73:Spacious room and bathroom with bath and shower which is easy to adjust, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and safe car parking, located conveniently near the city centre, and all at price lower than expected.

Review 74:Nothing..Very comfortable..

Review 75:One of the best B&B's ive stayed in at Wolverhampton, i will never go anywhere else unless they are fully booked..So relaxed atmosphere..!!.

Review 76:The bedroom was small and basic, but for the price we paid, perfectly fine.

Review 77:I very much enjoyed the quirkiness of this place. I loved the massive bathroom, decent toilet paper and lovely breakfast. I was also glad of it having a car park.

Review 78:Cold tap in bath didn't work. Bedroom lighting could have been better for an old chap like me.

Review 79:Warm welcome. Manager & staff very keen to please. Very clean everywhere. Most comfortable hotel bed ever (and I have spent hundreds of nights in hotels). Fascinating art deco decor and accessories.

Review 80:In bathroom shower was not working properly, it was uncomfortable washing system. Needed to was with very hot water or totally cold. Was not good experience. Twin room was very small and only one nightstand, during 8 night it was difficult to place our things. Also inside nightstand´s corner was somebody´s dirty sock ... :-D - so we did´nt use this at all.

Review 81:Friendly staff. Beautiful garden and stylish lounge.

Review 82:minor moan , bed uncomfortable on my side , big dip .

Review 83:loved the décor of the premises , all very well cared for , garden superb , very helpful host , nothing too much trouble .

Review 84:Nice welcome, twin room a bit small but beds vey comfy (memory foam), usual tea and coffee and bikkies. very quirky place...wouldn't look out of place in a ghost hunters programme!!

Review 85:If they served food and had a bar, I'd never leave :)

Review 86:Lovely hotel full of character, comfy bed in a clean room, hot shower and stunning breakfast. Wifi works well too, handy for work, as us the excellent location.

Review 87:Nothing

Review 88:The extra touches - additional tea / coffee sachets in the hallway along with a freezer full of ice for guests The friendliness - lovely to chat; given places to visit as I had a few hours spare

Review 89:There was nothing that spoilt my stay, but the radiator in the bathroom was rather rusty at the bottom and the doors do look a bit utilitarian given that the rest of the property has nice, quirky decorations.

Review 90:I think the place is excellent value for money and it certainly has a personality all of it's own. The breakfast was good too with a wide choice of options.

Review 91:Very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. 5 minutes from my course centre too which was perfect for me. Staff were always on hand when I needed anything.

Review 92:Unfortunately there is no bar nor do they serve evening meals. This is a pity given the lack of these facilities in the surrounding area.

Review 93:Antique and vintage items displayed in public rooms and corridors. Pleasant breakfast room overlooking well tended garden. Very helpful manager.

Review 94:no phone in room. Breakfast extra £7 for full breakfast but menu didn't say it was £5 each for a meagre breakfast, nor was any of this clarified upon booking. Also your 'type of traveller' question was stupid. I was there with my elderly mother for a funeral. What's that? A group of friends?

Review 95:Nice welcome, helpful staff

Review 96:Breakfast was fantastic, best full english we have had in a long time. Staff are very friendly, My two teenage sons preferred to a more modern hotel we usually use in Wolverhapton. Lovely "Arts and Crafts" style house.

Review 97:I liked everything about this hotel, the only thing I did not like was due to an extra hot night and there was no air conditioning.

Review 98:Relaxing location. Helpful and friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast. So much better than a big chain you are treated as an individual here. Happy to provide glasses and plates if you wish to bring your own carry out food or drink in and use the drawing room not many hotels I know off would be so accomodating

Review 99:Nothing!

Review 100:Very friendly and helpful. Clean tidy full of character.Extremely comfortable bed, very spacious room. You can even order a take away & eat it in the dining room.Easy secure parking.

Review 101:Whats not to like - we liked everything

Review 102:The quietness and tranquity of the place. The fact that you could treat the place like home and bring food, dtink, etc back to the hotel if you had a hard day and could not face going out and they would give you glasses, plates, etc

Review 103:No chain attaching plug to bath-why do customers take such things? This time car park congested by a mega car PLUS its BIG trailer so returning at midnight made parking diffcult.

Review 104:Everything. Quaint atmosphere and staff friendliness Probably my forth visit here

Review 105:-Water pressure: it took me 1/2 hour to get the soap out of my hair. -Wifi: no wifi in our room despite an extra router (in our room). so we had to sit in the lounge to check our E-mail. It was chilly over there.

Review 106:-The friendliness of the manager/ landlord -It was ok to occupy 4 parking lots (van with trailer) -warm breakfast was freshly made. but luckily we came in when the other 2 guests in the room had already been served.

Review 107:Only blip was not enough hot water for a decent bath which I really wanted after a tiring race, but the shower was excellent and hot.

Review 108:Lovely property, lots of space in my room, great price, service excellent.

Review 109:This hotel has so much more character than a chain hotel. The grounds are very pretty and the place seems very well looked after. Off road parking and 5 minute drive to the city centre (off-peak)

Review 110:everything.even though i'm from Bilston, but now living on the Isle of Wight, I have always thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and always wherever possible try to book here as my 1st choice. Nothing is ever perfect anywhere but the Barons Court to me is as near as.

Review 111:Just a tiny criticism, the entrance is in the side road so I went past the hotel, signage could be a little bigger.

Review 112:.Arts and Craft have been preserved as much as possible all over the house, I guess you could say I loved it. Although it is on a main road the gardens front and rear are very peaceful. Keith was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble for him.10 minutes from Whitwick Manor.

Review 113:We loved absolutely everything about this place: perfect location, beautiful garden, stylish interior, lovely rooms, and of course the management and staff - always friendly and helpful.

Review 114:After staying in a few sub-standard hotels while working in the Midlands, I was quite stressed out - this place sorted me out! The room was lovely, perfectly proportioned, with a memory foam mattress, TV, and a we'll stocked tea tray perfectly laid out (including a cheeky rocky)! The bathroom was really nicely decorated and quite large. There's even complimentary ice in the hall. Most importantly, the whole place was spotlessly clean but also really homey. The hotel has quirky bits and bobs around the place without being overrun, really interesting to look at, and the manager Keith was absolutely lovely. I'm only sad I couldn't stay more than two nights - I had two of the most restful nights sleep ever!

Review 115:The wifi didn't work very well (if at all) from my room upstairs. No shampoo or conditioner provided. Bathroom was a bit open, windows into the garden and a few cars parked

Review 116:Cute homely house feel, nice room. Water bottle, hot chocolate/coffee/tea and small snack provided. Friendly staff.

Review 117:We loved our stay and we will definitely be back. Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was quaint and old fashioned (but in a nice shabby chic way). Can't rate the breakfast as we didn't order any, though regretted our decision as it smelt devine. Close to the city centre, and I'd definitely reccomend using the hotel's taxonomy service, very reasonable prices and cheaper than getting the bus! Over all the hotel is fanstastic, quirky items in the lobby and halls which makes it feel a little bit like Alice in wonderland. Staff are great and very helpful and friendly. 10 out of 10 all round!

Review 118:You couldn't ask for a friendlier welcome. The house is full of interesting ornaments, this is not a bland corporate hotel. Keith is happy to supply plates and cutlery in the evening if you want to order a takeaway and will even light a fire in the winter months.

Review 119:What a lovely house, full of charming bits and pieces - lots to look at.The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Wonderful breakfast at a very reasonable price.

Review 120:We booked all 12 rooms for an important family event and nothing was too much trouble for Keith, everyone said how much they enjoyed the stay, especially the breakfast.

Review 121:Just one quibble re a leak from the loo in our bathroom, but otherwise no problems

Review 122:Always excellent value for money and a warm welcome from Keith, the Manager.
