Reviews for Comfort Inn Arundel
Review 1:As always, the staff at the Comfort Inn were very welcoming and helpful. Food in the restaurant was very good and well presented. The rooms are always very clean as are the public areas. Cannot fault it.
Review 2:Place was very cold mainly our room, went to have shower in morning water was freezing cold, no hot water at all. Told lady at desk all I got was sorry nothing else.
Review 3:Clean and tidy, breakfast was good.
Review 4:Staff were great. Room perfectly adequate. Breakfast good. When I came back after dropping daughter at interview staff happy for me to hang out doing a bit of work until I picked up - nice relaxed atmosphere x
Review 5:To many different prices on web. ALL breakfast items at 7.45am were like warm. Grilled tomato cold. Mushrooms cold. Scrambled egg just warm. Very disappointing.
Review 6:It was just ok. Nothing special.
Review 7:Nothing not to like, does the job it's meant to, a comfortable base for a few days away visiting family. Small point but a couple of plastic disposable cups/ beakers in the bathroom would be handy.
Review 8:Location great. Very helpful friendly staff. Rooms basic but very comfortable.
Review 9:this is our 4th visit and for convenience to family location perfect. breakfast was plentiful and well presented. staff friendly, thank you and a Happy New year to you all
Review 10:The room was unheated on arrival. I was told we'd have a disabled room this time but it was no different to the previous 2 occasions and was restricted for wheelchair use.
Review 11:Quiet room. Good breakfast.
Review 12:The reception staff were welcoming and the room was spotless and cleaned all four days of our stay, even though we were vacating it after 12 noon each day. I had booked a twin room with roll-out bed but appreciated being allocated a triple room instead, so we all slept really well.
Review 13:There was a male trainee working alone at the front desk, he's very lucky he still got a full set of teeths :) Also mattress needs changing, u can feel the springs.
Review 14:The food, both one evening meal and the breakfast, is poor. The staff are friendly but the quality of the food is low.
Review 15:Practical lcation and check in any time
Review 16:Very little to dislike.
Review 17:We received a warm welcome on arrival and were treated very nicely throughout our 2 nights, especially by 'Charlie'who never seemed to sleep. Rooms good, Breakfast good. Good value for money.
Review 18:Very late night returning guests not considering that other guests may actually be trying to sleep.
Review 19:Good breakfast with plenty of choice. WiFi in room worked well.
Review 20:The hotel staff were very helpful , the evening meal you could not fault .. The room was clean and quite... And the breakfast was fab ... Will stay again .
Review 21:Professional yet friendly staff, sumptuous bedding, pristine bathroom, invigorating shower, excellent food and service. First time in my life to have had a totally perfect experience all round. Too good to be true - yet it is!
Review 22:Very uncomfortable pillows, small bed, worn-out mattress (we could feel the springs), noisy heater in room. We also had a VERY long wait for food in the restaurant.
Review 23:Some pleasant staff.
Review 24:The room was rather dark, especially in the area just inside the door where the suitcase stand was, I couldn't see the contents of my suitcase. The heater in the room was not very effective and EXTREMELY noisy this type of heater is very old fashioned and it needs to be replaced with something more modern and efficient. All in all the hotel looks very tired and is in need of a face lift and some modernisation.
Review 25:Very comfortable bed
Review 26:Room a little worn around the edges but everything functioned except the wifi which was "misbehaving"
Review 27:above average price/quality balance; spacious and quiet room (202), good value restaurant, pleasant bar area, friendly staff, free parking
Review 28:We had s very noisy room heater and a light that continually flashed on and off. After two pleas to staff at 1am about what to do, we were told to 'switch it off'. It was a cold, windy night and we woke up freezing. After telling the reception desk, and handing in a lletter of complaint, the guy at reception just said ' sorry about that' no offers of a refund or partial refund. A 'couldn't care less' attitude.
Review 29:Most of the staff were very helpful but this was spoiled because of their indifference when I made a legitimate complaint.
Review 30:Everything was to a high standerd they did how ever mop the floors in reception with no sign up and my partner fell and hurt his arm they were less than help full and said would have to get cc tv watched of the fall and the manager couldn't do that till Monday. No apology was made. But the hotel was ok good value for money
Review 31:watch the water pressure. The taps blast it out. Would think twice before return as I know of better food at this sort of price point .
Review 32:Easy no fuss check in and out
Review 33:Cleanliness of bathroom - there was urine on the underside of the toilet seat when we arrived & someone else's dirty flannel on top of the shower rail. The tissue box was empty, which is fine but take the box away if they aren't going to be provided.
Review 34:Friendliness of staff, breakfast was good value, facilities, view of fields from room & ease of access.
Review 35:Whilst the food in the restaurant was satisfactory the wait for it was unacceptable. We and most other diners felt the need to complain. One informed me this was the second evening he was forced to wait for over 50 minutes for a meal. The dining room wasn't very full. We elected to eat elsewhere the following night!
Review 36:Comfortable rooms, handy location for Arundel and Portsmouth Dockyard
Review 37:Having booked online you are never sure if it will be ok. This was excellent, very comfortable, excellent cleanliness. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, no he's titration in recommending to friends and family.
Review 38:The disabled room for us grandparents was OK, BUT I found it so very difficult to get over the high bath edge to have a shower . We had asked for what we thought was a" walk in shower" disabled room. The floor space by the toilet front was also very small.Small maintenance jobs needed doing:- Basin plug chain falling out, tap tops fall off, drawers need aligning as they get stuck on each other , then the TV failed on our last morning!!
Review 39:The location, clean rooms , comfortable beds, good breakfasts ,the country room view and the peace and quiet.
Review 40:Our chief complaint was the excessive time we had to wait in the restaurant for our evening meal after ordering- Mon 26/10 40 mins and Tues 27/10 55 mins. This has to be improved if you wish to attract clientele regularly - others were also not impressed and would be having their meal elsewhere on Wed as we would had we stayed longer.
Review 41:This hotel was an advantage in the run of our holiday journey and was reasonably quiet with the exception of young children in the dining room at breakfast, otherwise we were happy with our stay(daughter in room 2)
Review 42:heater in room 117 was damaged and so was very noisy heater in bathroom did not work.
Review 43:welcomed by very friendly member of staff who made sure we had every thing we required for our stay.
Review 44:One customer moaned about a piece of food on the floor and was quite rude to the waitress. He had himself just dropped this moments before.
Review 45:Liked the buffet breakfast, no waiting to be served and the restaurant was in the same building. Beds and room were comfortable and the staff were helpful but not intrusive.
Review 46:The room wasn't great needs updating. The hot chocolate was rock hard in the packet think it had been there a while. The bathroom not very clean.
Review 47:The staff made the hotel. Very hard working nothing too much trouble. Very approachable.
Review 48:The Comfort Inn, Arundel is very clean, the food is very tasty and the customer service is excellent - nothing was too much trouble for the staff We will stay again when in the area
Review 49:Bathroom very poor. Dirty walls around bath, shower head old & blocked. Toilet old with a broken glued stained seat & cistern that ran after being pulled. Too far to walk into Arundel.
Review 50:Efficient & friendly staff. Well appointed reception, bar & restaurant area. Quality of room decor.
Review 51:The quilts on beds are far too small. Think they had put a 4ft quilt on a 4'6" bed. Most places nowadays also have 5' divans. Corridors and rooms looked a little tired. Would have been better to have been served tea or coffee not have to get it from a machine at breakfast. Expensive for what you get.
Review 52:People smoking outside the main door.
Review 53:Very very clean room. For the money, we were very pleased with this hotel. Breakfast was very nice and generous and we found was great for the price. We haven't ever stayed at a Comfort Inn but if this represented the chain well we will use Comfort Inn again!
Review 54:Property though good is starting to look a little tired. Though I did see some painting going on in the corridors. The television channels did not correspond with national channel numbers. Some channels were unavailable.
Review 55:Comfortable room. Good breakfast.
Review 56:1. Rooms were a bit overpriced for what they are especially as it did not include breakfast. 2. The snail stuck to the net curtain.
Review 57:The beds are comfortable if a little small, and the duvets were not a proper single size. Overall, good.
Review 58:WiFi is described as high speed but its minimal strength in room 116 and keeps stopping. Selection of TV channels could be better but wasn't there to watch TV. Hotel in a slightly awkward position for a pedestrian like me. You have to negotiate a busy road twice and then walk down thru a garage forecourt to get to the hotel. If they could move the building to a better site nearer town before next week when I'm booked in again, I'd be most grateful. Lol.
Review 59:Liked the small size of the place, and it was quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Comfy bed and a good size room. More than adequate in every way.
Review 60:Breakfast could do with improving. Bathroom/room wasn't always the cleanness, coffee cups don't get replaced and hairs were found around the sink on a few occasions. Double beds are ok for a night but not too comfortable for more than that
Review 61:Members of staff we met were very helpful. Location was good for what we wanted and quiet. Single beds are comfortable
Review 62:The bed was a very small double Waterproof sheet on mattress was very uncomfortable Pillows were like stone Bath towels small and very thin We arrived for breakfast 8.15 and everything but with baked beans were dried out Room mirror was very dusty
Review 63:There wasn't a lot to like and we would not stay in a comfort in again
Review 64:The room was dated, chipped enamel on the bath, the room was dusty with cobwebs but worst of all was the horrendous bed, so uncomfortable, I would not stay here again. Also expensive in comparison to others in same league.
Review 65:The entrance looked promising as looked modern and clean.
Review 66:The mattresses could do with memory foam toppers.
Review 67:Your staff were the best part of our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Especially Benjamin and Michelle but there were other staff we didn't see who did a great job.
Review 68:could not get a signel for web page not sure why
Review 69:everything was just great for us felt very comfortable wish we could have stated longer but had to go home
Review 70:Hangers not removable from closet.
Review 71:Firm bed. Heated towel rack. Electric wall heater. Soft and firm pillows. Ample number of electrical outlets for charging. Good breakfast buffet. Ample parking. Quiet environment.
Review 72:As we had an adjoining family room it was slightly noisy from people in adjoining room...it would be be good if holiday guest could be separated from work and business guest
Review 73:Convenient for town and surrounding areas..good spacious room clean and tidy..good bathroom with daily maid service..value for money for stay with breakfast inc.evening meals also optional
Review 74:Absolutely nothing
Review 75:The ease of booking and the welcome we received from the staff on arrival as we didn't arrive until late evening which in some hotels can be quite challenging, so on that basis we'd certainly stay again in the future
Review 76:Parking spaces too narrow Breakfast food not refilled often enough Bed too hard for me Glass shower door would be better than shower curtain
Review 77:Large room Powerful shower Clear picture on TV Good selection at breakfast Quiet surroundings
Review 78:Beds are not that comfy really, I have been staying here far too much recently and the odd night might be comfortable enough but after several days expect back ache. Their towels are all quite small and only get replaced here and there, you hardly ever get as many back as they take away. Showers take a long time to warm up and corridors smell smoky sometimes despite all rooms being non smoking. Often no water served with breakfast. For the price I don't consider it good value.
Review 79:Good parking and location ok to get to various other places like Bognor, Chichester and Arundel. Breakfast is fairly good. There is a Mcdonalds and petrol station only a short walk away.
Review 80:Would prefer breakfast over longer period, eg. 0700 to 1000.
Review 81:Convenient. Friendly, helpful staff. Room and parking ideal for Blue Badge holder. Exceptionally quiet.
Review 82:No tissues supplied in bathroom so we had to use toilet paper. No lotions or shampoo provided. This is important when you've arrived by plane and haven't been able to bring your own.
Review 83:excellent breakfast.
Review 84:Bath mixer taps for shower took a lot of fiddling around to get correct temp. Then unable to switch off (to soap up) without having to go through the setup again. Small Double bed which was quite firm. (it looked like there had been a bigger bed there at some point in the past. Only Four hangers in the wardrobe.
Review 85:Easy to find and Helpful staff.
Review 86:No air con. room very hot over night.Very noisy on Friday night because of boy racers in Mc. Donalds car park. Chicken tikka very dry & no mango chutney.
Review 87:Friendly Staff. Good house keeping & clenliness
Review 88:choice of only tea coffee or choc for hot drinks, no herbal or flavoured tea on the whole site. Section 4 will not let you put in your own words so dont bother.
Review 89:location was close to where we were going .breakfast was good.
Review 90:I ordered Pollo ala Crema. Both took ages to come in a sparsely populated restaurant. When it did turn up, the order was incorrect. Sent it back and then when it came back correctly garnished it was overcooked and tasteless.
Review 91:The room was spacious and clean. My wife had the Vegatable Lasagne and said it was delish. Breakfast was ok.
Review 92:Awful bed, hard and all rooms only had double beds. I would expect a kingsize in line with Premier Inn now. Decor in rooms needed updating, enamel chipped, curtains hanging off their poles. No personal service at breakfast so tea and coffee from a machine.
Review 93:Nice entrance and bar area gives a good first impression but the rooms let it down
Review 94:Not a bad experience, but a choice of vegetarian meals would have been nice, even if I'd had to order it on arrival. There was only one option (during out stay). Maybe I should have made a request on booking. but I didn't think to do so.
Review 95:Everything was just what we needed for a lovely short break before the end of the summer school holidays - thank you.
Review 96:If disabled, would not recommend staying longer than one night as rooms appear quite compact for wheelchair use and no grab rails in bathroom.
Review 97:Nothing
Review 98:Spacious room with modern bathroom. Good buffet breakfast. Easy to find just off the A27. Good place for an overnight stop. Plenty of free parking.
Review 99:Had to run hot tap for ages before any hot water came through, literally minutes. Even had maintenance came to room to see what he could do, but still the same. Room 123
Review 100:Located behind service area and next to 24 hour MacDonalds!......Room was basically clean but significant build up of dust on headboards.....led to sneezy sleep. Breakfast was plentiful but was allowed to dry up. Not good!!
Review 101:Room was adequate for our needs. Fairly quiet location.
Review 102:Location too far out to walk into town. Breakfast was very average. More useful as a pit stop for those on way to ferries I would think.
Review 103:Room was clean and staff friendly.
Review 104:The whole interior, but especially the passage ways and the room gave the feelings of being dated (1980s), musty and neglected. The evening restaurant service was very slow. Three meals were finally presented then the fourth wasn't brought for a further 10 minutes or more. Our stay here was very disappointing. Other less expensive accommodation has been 10X more pleasant.
Review 105:The room was good sized and the shower in the ensuite was nice.
Review 106:Not the most picturesque location as it is on a mini industrial park (lorry depot, McDonalds, petrol station) though there are open fields behind and the only noise we heard were cows mooing in the morning.
Review 107:Well located for easy access, a mile or two outside Arundel and right beside the A27. Very confortable room and very clean.
Review 108:Ensure you get an upstairs room at the back of the hotel. Late people bang about overhead and loiter about outside reception late at night smoking and talking loudly.
Review 109:Location good hotel clean and staff friendly. Spoilt for choice at breakfast. Hot food was nice and hot.
Review 110:Was very noisy all night. Very disturbed sleep and for a £98 room wasn't impressed at all
Review 111:Staff very friendly. Room clean. Had problem with wifi but by the morning was able to connect
Review 112:I woke in the night feeling a little cold but there was no spareblanket. We had my son, his wife and our two 2 yr old grandsons in aseparate room and we had to wait an hour for dinner, which was a littletraumatic at 7.00 to 8.00 pm. In mitigation, we were told that they wereone chef down, when they usually have two. It wouldn't be so bad ifthe restaurant could be opened an hour earlier. It was popular andlooked fully booked. A few healthier food options could help.
Review 113:It is attractive, with natural wood flooring, and clean. The rooms arecomfortable and spacious. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. Theprice is good. It is convenient for Arundel and for Littlehampton, wherewe were heading. Our rooms were lovely and quiet at night.
Review 114:Noisy people outside mcdonalds late at night but not hotels fault.
Review 115:Is only a couple of minutes drive from Arundel centre. Big breakfast and clean rooms.
Review 116:Too far to walk into Arundel along very busy roads. Beds were creaky so changed rooms, but replacement room was not much better. Rooms need upgrading. Next to McDonalds and a truck stop!
Review 117:Location OK for an overnight stop, breakfast included.
Review 118:Didn't realise we were above the macdonalds. Not excessive but some noises through the night. Also road to walk to arundel is a 24 hr traffic feast. Not inn's fault I know:-(
Review 119:Facilities very good staff helpful although we had no specific problems anyway good value for the price,
Review 120:None really, but breakfast could have been more varied from day to day. This only applicable if you stay for several days.
Review 121:Quiet room with a good view over the Arun Valley.God sized room, comfortable bed and room had settee, armchair, and comfortable desk chair
Review 122:The beds were rock hard and we couldn't sleep. The draught beers were flat so we stuck to bottled beers.
Review 123:Very friendly and helpful staff and excellent location. Food from breakfast to dinner was fantastic and very reasonably priced.
Review 124:Both the lady on the reception desk and the lady who took care of us at dinner and breakfast were brilliant. We couldn't have received better at any price. The hotel was great value the staff made it special.
Review 125:Only a small gripe, but our breakfast dishes weren't cleared from the table once we had finished with them, which resulted in a cluttered table. If we had been four on the table instead of two, it would have been very difficult.
Review 126:Clean and comfortable room, if very hot as faced South-west and it was the hottest day of the year! Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 127:Bathroom a bit dated and cobwebs present. Breakfast is buffet and needed more attention than it got, nightmare to get off the site due to the local traffic circumstances.
Review 128:Good room size and comfortable bed
Review 129:it overlooked the BP Garage and was at the front of the hotel, quite a bit of noise from other guests entering or leaving the hotel.
Review 130:Good Shower, Decent Breakfast
Review 131:The interior decor is beginning to look very tired. On a personal note, I dislike buffet breakfasts. Limited choice and is always cold and dry.
Review 132:Convenient location, easy parking and attractively priced.
Review 133:nothing
Review 134:full English breakfast included, clean bedroom, we stayed for 3 nights..everyday when we came back our room was cleaned. the nearest beach is about 15mins drive from hotel.
Review 135:The cleanliness of room was superficially good but a little more attention to grime around the bath grab handles would be appreciated. Changeover valve between bath and shower head was extremely stiff.
Review 136:Food good especially breakfast Dinner menu OK but limited in choice of meals with vegetables. Staff were friendly.
