Reviews for Legacy Preston International Hotel

Review 1:I did not like one of the reception staff who refused to give me even 30 minutes of late check out despite me offering to pay extra and she insisted i would have to be charged for the whole night.

Review 2:Great location close to uni and good breakfast and cleanness.

Review 3:Absolutely nothing bad to say, will not hesitate to stay here again

Review 4:The Staff were above and beyond friendly, very helpful, asked about our well-being - I actually felt that they cared. The hotel was bright, clean and welcoming, as was the room, which was also larger than anticipated

Review 5:The bed had a few springs loose on the mattress, didn't cause too much of an issue. One of the lights near the TV wasn't working, again not too much of an issue. The room got very very hot and we couldn't open the window due to the noise of the road nearby but we did find the little fan in the wardrobe so this made things slightly easier.

Review 6:The room was good quality for the price, the breakfast was lovely and the staff are all very friendly and polite. The bodywash provided smelled amazing and I loved the shampoo and conditioner, they smelled lovely too.

Review 7:Towel rail not working in two rooms, reported, worked for a while then went off. One room not cleaned and made up during stay. On arrival booking was all wrong.

Review 8:We stayed here at the last minute as our trains got cancelled. Was very pleased with meal at night in restaurant. Staff were very helpful and friendly!

Review 9:1. Disabled wetroom no shelf to put shampoo etc on necessitating using wash basin there had to turn. 2. Asked for bill for night before leaving as had appointment they forgot to include that night insufficient English funds had to use Spanish visa losing on exchange. 3. Bed way too soft bad for back

Review 10:My grandchildren visiting

Review 11:Wasn't keen on breakfast

Review 12:Our room and welcome was great. Wire sticking out of mattress was changed straight away but heating not working told manager on Sunday eve still not working by morning. Told new manager who was very helpful changed our room. Breakfast wasn't very nice got down about 9 not much choice for cereal

Review 13:The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms were large and not too hot (unlike most hotels), and the bathroom was luxurious. We really enjoyed our stay.

Review 14:We were expecting a budget hotel and were surprised at the size of the rooms and how lovely the hotel was. We had a great breakfast and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. would definitely staff here again.

Review 15:Room Temperature was too high now way to turn it down. Had to sleep with window open traffic noisy

Review 16:We have stayed here before hotel is very close to all Preston has to offer, Breakfast is excellent fantastic variety.

Review 17:A little fridge in the room would be nice.

Review 18:We needed to be close to UCLAN - it was next door. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Takeaway coffee is a good idea.

Review 19:Nothing really if I had to say anything I say the trains can be a nuisance in the morning, but it might just be me, and you can always ask for the side away from the train station

Review 20:Always stop here when coming home to Preston, even though it's a large company you get the feeling it's an independent, staff can think for them selves and go above and beyond. My mother was very ill in hospital, she wanted scrambled eggs, toast and two bacon, asked and they made it fresh for me to take, priceless, mother enjoyed it and I can not praise the staff/management enough, any other hotel I would not of even asked. Thanks for that

Review 21:The hotel was hard to find as the postcode quoted by booking.com was incorrect. The food was very tasty but a little pricey for a 3* hotel, with not a great deal of choice.

Review 22:The room was very comfortable and clean. Good breakfast.

Review 23:Sat nav kept sending us wrong way ... It kept telling us to turn left when we should have been turning right staff told us it was to do with the postcode

Review 24:It was within walking distance to Guild Hall and city centre

Review 25:Only one Disable Parking Bay. Bed a Little too hard for me. I couldnt connect to wifi in Room

Review 26:Very Clean. Great Breakfast. The staff were very polite.

Review 27:Road noise a minor irritation; ask for a room away from the A road

Review 28:Great location for access to town; friendly, helpful staff, good food, great value for money.

Review 29:breakfast a little dry but to be honest I came in at the last knockings

Review 30:nice staff , easy parking , relaxed atmosphere and clean room . Nice late check out and late breakfast too ( up to 10 am )

Review 31:Bit noisy at times doors banging and hovering at 6am

Review 32:Location Excellent for all areas of Preston we went to Guild Hall.Near all local points of interest

Review 33:Nothing

Review 34:A very pleasant experience in every possible way: convenience, hospitality, price and location. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. 6 stars

Review 35:Not told by Booking.com or hotel that there would be a 2.5% surcharge added for paying by credit card!!

Review 36:Modern hotel in quiet location within walking distance of town centre. Comfortable no frills, and great value.

Review 37:Wifi was too weak for streaming music or movies and didn't work at all one evening during my stay.

Review 38:Clean and rather spacious room with comfortable bed, friendly staff and great location close to UCLan campus.

Review 39:Staff were helpful & friendly. Hotel was central without being noisey. Easy to get to on foot from train station (if you don't have a big suitcase of course). Room was a good size too.

Review 40:It seemed a bit odd having to leave a £100 deposit. But I had seen on the information when I booked that it would be asked for. So it wasn't a problem.

Review 41:Friendly staff, very clean, good location, comfy bed and excellent evening meal. What more could you want?

Review 42:An additional small mirror in the bathroom would be useful Breakfast offer signage - not clear if alternatives (e.g. boiled or poached eggs, etc) were available

Review 43:Convenient location for business at the university. Plenty of space in the bedroom Good shower and bathroom accessories

Review 44:Finding the hotel - one way system in Preston and hotel is tucked away in a side street close to Central Lancashire University.

Review 45:Being so close to the centre of Preston, the rooms and breakfast were excellent

Review 46:1. Wifi is is weak, we need to answer same evaluation questions again & again each time when login. Very annoying. 2. No aircon in the room.

Review 47:Great location, good breakfast & staff's service.

Review 48:The wifi is worthless and deadly slow. If a tour bus arrives (and two arrived during my two stays), the lobby and elevators will be very crowded. There are no outlets near the beds, so it isn't possible to plug in a CPAP.

Review 49:If you're visiting UCLan this is the closest hotel and in a perfect location. The beds are comfortable, the breakfast except for the eggs is tasty (for an English breakfast). The eggs are overcooked. Wonderful, great, accommodating staff.

Review 50:The room is quite hot at night in September. I wish I can open the window wider. The provided fan is also too small. No bedroom slipper.

Review 51:Big room and space

Review 52:This hotel has a policy of wanting 100 GBP. As surety. This is only one I've encounted in 5 weeks of travelling in UK and France. I am still waiting for the money to be re deposited back into my account. Watch out

Review 53:The staff welcoming and helpful. Breakfast and evening meal good. Location reasonably close to Railway station.

Review 54:The pillows were uncomfortably hard and the noise from the traffic outside made it impossible to have the window open.

Review 55:The room itself was very nice and clean - the price I paid made it good value for money.

Review 56:We've used this hotel many times and will continue to do so. Our Son is at university in Preston and it suits us and the standards are good. The one criticism on this trip was, I asked for an upper floor room. We were given one on the first floor. There is a small amount of traffic noise and being a light sleeper was a small inconvenience. We were woken by a delivery vehicle at around 4.50am. He should've turned his reversing bleepers off, but this was not the Hotels fault

Review 57:very friendly staff and extremely clean. the buffet style breakfast had everything you could possibly want, from fruit to full English and not limited,

Review 58:Room overlooked busy road very noisy . Asked to change told no. Water problems not told don't use at all when enquires about it as we were ill told they would sell us water at £1 bottle . No notification about what was happening about water . This was appalling . It was too noisy to sleep couldn't leave window open . Staff couldn't care less about either problem . We have been before but won't come again ..

Review 59:Next to busy road and noisy because I had the window open on a hot night. No air conditioning. Charged for bottled water during Preston's water crisis (Holiday Inn gave it away free). Breakfast is in an oppressive underground room

Review 60:Clean modern hotel close to city centre

Review 61:Overpriced for Preston.. Adding a surcharge for acceptance of credit cards is unacceptable Food overpriced and limited menu. No draught beer in bar (except Guinness) With the public water supply problems trying to charge guests £1 per bottle for water was extortion of the worst kind. To sell at cost price would have been reasonable as a service.

Review 62:Clean comfortable business hotel

Review 63:I was disappointed that we were not informed of the water situation in Preston at the time of our visit. I think bottled water should have been provided or at least offered. Had it not been for my son who we were visiting we would not have known about it.

Review 64:We enjoyed an overnight stay, we would certainly stay at this lively Hotel again if we are in the area. The Hotel is Central, very quiet, lovely helpfull staff, beautifuly clean.

Review 65:Arrival was a little complicated using sat-nav due to the one-way system. Although room 507 was clean and well equipped the pipework made a loud knocking sound every time anyone used water or the loo on what appeared to be any adjacent floor, making sleeping disturbed.

Review 66:No Draught Beer in bar and no Sky Sports news on TV.

Review 67:Bedroom was a good size, bed was really comfy, good shower, good food in Bar and Staff were Excellent.

Review 68:I was and still am disgusted that you charged 2.5% on payments with a credit card. As the Government have forced credit card companies to reduce th cost to all companies to 0.08% you should not be looking to make an extra profit and therefore as the other hotel we stayed last week did not make any charge for payment by credit card we shall not stay at any of your hotels in the future and will also tell our friends of our experience

Review 69:The evening meals were good and the check in was ok.

Review 70:I found the bed too soft but my partner found it OK. At breakfast Saturday morning they ran out of bacon and everyone was waiting for more to be cooked. Could do with having a selection of bar snacks/nibbles available rather than just meals.

Review 71:Very pleasant reception / bar staff.

Review 72:Room wasn't cleaned the next day and when we asked staff for a new bedsheet, she just handed us the sheet and didn't even offer to lay the bed. Also the room was quite hot as there was no ac and the fan was far off. Bed wasn't too comfortable as well.

Review 73:Breakfast was amazing and the dining area surpassed my expectations.

Review 74:Very poor luke warm overcooked breakfast.

Review 75:Staff excellent, lovely spacious room, nice bath/Shower, nice wide single beds, comfortable room lighting, all in all a very good hotel.

Review 76:Quite hot in room, but a fan found in the wardrobe certainly helped! Try not to miss the turning into the Hotel, it is on a one-way system.

Review 77:Very helpful staff; great breakfast; spotless en suite; and clean and comfortable room. Plenty of parking.

Review 78:There was nothing specific to dislike.

Review 79:The hotel was conveniently situated and quite well appointed. It gave us what we wanted for the purposes of our visit. The car parking facility was appreciated

Review 80:Have stayed here often during the three years my son was at university. Always a warm and friendly welcome from Pauline on Reception. Having a car park is a bonus.

Review 81:Very difficult to find when driving. One way system awful. Breakfast adequate.

Review 82:Room very clean. Very helpful are reception. Very polite. Had excellent stay.

Review 83:Room was stiflingly hot ,no A/C. Bath tap was broken couldnt get cold water. Breakfast was only very average

Review 84:Bed was comfortable, staff friendly.

Review 85:Good insulation is not a strong point in UK buildings and noisy neighbours are heard.

Review 86:It's a clean, spacious hotel with all amenities and friendly staff. It's quite good value for money and above the UK standards at this price range.

Review 87:Not the hotel's fault, but a bunch of inconsiderate guests were leaving at 5am and stood in the corridor talking at full volume and kept letting the fire door bang.

Review 88:Large, clean room with very comfy beds. Very good buffet breakfast. Helpful and friendly reception staff. Free parking at the hotel.

Review 89:When we first stayed here a good few years ago everything was clean and new. The breakfast was really good. But on recent stays especially the last the room and bathroom were looking very run down and a bit grubby. On our last visit the weather was quite hot but there is no aircon, and being on the upper floor the room was uncomfortably hot, so much in fact I asked at reception for a fan (had to leave a £10 deposit!) Which made no difference at all. We went down for breakfast at about half eight, not too late and everything was cold(sausage bacon egg beans etc). There were no milk jugs left, just litle niggles like that let it down.

Review 90:The location is great, very close to the city centre and university. The hotel also has breakfast included in the price, normally a really good deal.

Review 91:Only thing that let me down was the fact no plugs near the bed to chargephone, I'm a mum that was away from kids and my phone was vitalovernight in case something happens so for that fact I couldn'tenjoy my bed and my sleep as I had to wake up several times during thenight to check on phone that was far from bed... If u sort this problemur hotel its top

Review 92:The room was very hot through the night..The hotel has a bypass and railway line on one side and a busy road on the other. There is no air-con other than opening a window and letting all the noise in.

Review 93:Location is ideal for events in the centre of Preston

Review 94:Nothing whatsoever

Review 95:Everything, we just couldn't fault it and we didn't even try. Real value for money. The building, location and staff excellent.

Review 96:Pricey bar bill - over £7 for s glass of wine !

Review 97:Staff did their best to help and made our stay pleasant - we had dinner and thought the food was of a good standard

Review 98:Room was not clean. It looked tidy but I don't know when they last dusted, thick dust on top of all the surfaces except the desk, the TV remote was disgusting. Didn't think it was value for money when the Premier Inn is up the road for cheaper, and much cleaner!

Review 99:good location, great staff, comfortable bed

Review 100:There was a 100 pound deposit extra when paying with cash, I thought this could of been shown when booking so we could of brought it with us and didn't have to walk to a cash point in the rain

Review 101:Nothing at all

Review 102:The staff who were extremely friendly & helpful. Also all 6 of our rooms were close to one another & they were ready early as requested. This made it easy for us to change & freshen up before going to the wedding.

Review 103:There was nothing not to like. Hotel room was lovely, staff were very pleasant and helpful at reception and in the dining room.

Review 104:Everything. Was a very pleasant experience and look forward to returning in the future.

Review 105:road noise

Review 106:Liked everything, just abit of road noise, as we were near the dual carriage way, have stayed before, and the room was not that close, i stayed in room 109, and guess about 6 rooms on that level had the same experience

Review 107:Breakfast food was a little cold on the first morning. Plates and food could be hotter but quality, variety and quantity was good.

Review 108:Very friendly helpful staff. Ideal location for city centre and university.

Review 109:The waitress who was on duty at the restaurant the first night we had dinner there seemed to be having a bad day and couldn't be less interested in us if she tried. She was on again for breakfast the next morning but had cheered up a little bit.

Review 110:Easy to find using the directions on the hotel's on website. Friendly reception staff, clean room with a nice big bed and good bathroom. The hotel was in walking distance to the town centre which was great as we were in Preston to see a show at the Guild Hall and didn't want to drive around in the middle of the town. We were on the 5th floor and had a good view of the town. Staff at reception were really nice and the breakfast was good.

Review 111:bed was too soft for my liking the bacon and sausage were a touch over cooked (to my preference).

Review 112:Fast Check in and out. Private breakfast (quiet night in hotel so breakfast was being custom made)

Review 113:Road noice a little bad if window is open on the road side of the builing and rooms were very warn as no air con.

Review 114:This was an overnight stop on route and lived up to the good reviews we had read. Freindly staff, good food and catered for our needs. A simple hotel but well worth the 3 star rating.

Review 115:It was a little bit difficult to find because it is off of a main street, but GPS saved us.

Review 116:It was a perfect location for a uni visit to UCLAN. There are nice pubs and restaurants within a two block walk.

Review 117:The bed was comfy but I would have prefered an extra pillow.

Review 118:The room was nice. good size spaces in the car park. Location. The room was quiet enough (facing the main road/trainline.

Review 119:Fire alarm going off at 2.30 a.m. due to someone breaking glass.

Review 120:. We were visiting our daughter who is at UCLAN so the location was excellent. Very good value for money. Room very clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Will definitely stay again.

Review 121:Didn't like the place much. The table was burnt. The room was far to hot even with the heating off. When we opended the window all you could hear was the dual carriageway.

Review 122:The bed was comfortable.

Review 123:Disappointed with coffee machine, cup full of froth! No yoghurt (that I could see) or honey…. BUT IT WAS ALL LOVELY !

Review 124:Hot bath and large bed Figs and Prunes - great (in addition to the full english)

Review 125:We've stayed here many times and has always been good. However the bed in the room we had on this visit was to say, not too good. This is a minor issue and it certainly wouldn't put me off staying again. My fault I should have said something.

Review 126:The location was perfect. Close to the university. And as usual the breakfast was superb.

Review 127:Sorry I didn't like the pillow they where to hard woke up with a very bad back so had to go back to doctors .

Review 128:I like everything breakfast was good my 9 year old daughter loved the breakfast.didnt eat in the restaurant thought it was a bit dear

Review 129:my room was by the door leading to the stairs, so a little bit of noise when people were going or coming in.

Review 130:staff very helpful lovely room for breakfast and free parking . the room had a very good hairdryer, and the tea and coffee plus hot chocolate was of good quality, plus even a walkers short bread biscuit !

Review 131:Bar only sold bottle beers would be much better if sold draught. Drink expensive.

Review 132:The hotel was close to centre. Easy to get to with sat nav. Staff were very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable.

Review 133:The one or two groups of anti-social guests who arrived noisily at their rooms, and slammed the doors. No consideration!

Review 134:A very pleasant hotel, good size, well furnished rooms. Staff friendly and helpful. In a quiet area about a 10 minute walk from the Station.

Review 135:It is a little difficult to find the hotel.

Review 136:good location, very convenient to the university and railway station. clean and big. The british breakfast are very delicious and typical.
