Reviews for Quality Hotel Wolverhampton
Review 1:Poor sound insulation between rooms meant that we were kept awake for a long time during the night - between around 11.00 pm and 2.00 am approx
Review 2:The hotel was OK
Review 3:the location is a little far from the centre and the shower wasnt the easiest to use. Also there was a musty/stale smell when entering the room.
Review 4:The bed was comfy and the room was a decent size
Review 5:Bed in 215 was the worst I've ever experienced, noisy and uncomfortable, also pillow was that thin it felt non existent. Wouldn't stay again unfortunately.
Review 6:Staff was lovely, helpful and friendly. TV was a good size. Was allowed a late check in at 11pm
Review 7:Advertised wi-fi was non - existent from room, only seemed briefly available when walking past reception area. Actual instructions for logging in very unhelpful. First floor toilet was filthy. Room walls paper-thin.
Review 8:Well situated. Room clean.
Review 9:The cleanliness of the hotel was poor and the hotel from entry to my room I thought was filthy, then things like the shower etc were very poor facilities
Review 10:has enough party and bed was comfy
Review 11:The room i was booked into stunk..not sure of what..?blocked drain..?unlcean toilet..and the whole building smelt of cigarettes even though it displayed non smoking policy. The room i was then moved to was not very clean...inside the drawers was dirt...you can tell it had not been cleaned for a while. There was no notice on how hot the radiator in the bathroom can get..i nearly got burnt as i attempted to lean over. The shower sheilding enclosure was not very easy to manouvre...causing me to spill having turned on shower! Not sure how clean the bed linen was..though the bed itself was comfortable.
Review 12:The staff were helpful and friendly
Review 13:The window wouldn't shut properly in our first bedroom.
Review 14:The night porter in the evening - about midnight was a very nice person with good customer service. He came to try and fix the window which wouldn't shut and moved us straight into another room - thank you.
Review 15:Very tired looking. Communal areas not very clean looking. I woke to find 2 bites on my arm, am now on antibiotics as they are quite bad. Not sure what bit me but is was definatly from that room in this hotel!!
Review 16:Both quilts were blood stained,1 sheet all so stained with blood, net curtains were stained and TV picture was green breaky was discuting.had to get own fork and knife egg was off coffee was cold
Review 17:Location waz OK just a little way to were we wanted to b
Review 18:The hotel is dirty, scruffy and needs either knocking down or a complete overhaul. No internet in my room and a toilet that kept running continuously. Very poor.
Review 19:I was booked in to stay for 3 nights but left very early during the second night as I was bitten all over my body from bed bugs. I had asked to move rooms which was fine but then realised the 2nd room had no central heating. After 2 hours of trying to sleep in the cold I had to return to the original room. I woke up at 6am to find i had been bitten even more and was moved to a 3rd room which was just as bad. I finally managed to find an alternative hotel but had to wait for a few hours to check in. The staff on duty at The 'Quality Hotel' were very apologetic and refunded my stay immediately. I have video footage of the bed bugs and pictures of my bites
Review 20:10 minute wait til someone arrived at reception to check me in, corridor between front and back of hotel reeks of cooking fat as do most of public areas, lift is truly horrible, dodgy signal on TV in room
Review 21:Room was fine, location very handy, well priced. Guy who serves breakfast was excellent,
Review 22:Had to pay again on arrival as hotel claimed no money had been taken from my account. Bathroom was in poor condition with towel rail falling off wall. Carpet in bedroom very uneven. Was kept awake all night by other guests banging doors and talking loudly in the corridor. Hotel needs to be updated carpet in communal areas very dirty. Lift is ancient and takes ages to get to the top floor
Review 23:Not much to like apart from being close to wolves city centre
Review 24:TV didn't work and could get no wifi signal in rooms. But as were there for a gig it wasn't an issue. Staff did try to sort out the issues and when they couldn't we had a complementary drink instead!
Review 25:staff were fab and tried their best to help us out with a few minor problems
Review 26:The furniture, carpets and decoration throughout the hotel were worn and tired. The room hadn't been cleaned properly (plate of half eaten chips in the chest of drawers!!) and the light over the dresser mirror was broken, as was the light over the mirror in the bathroom and the fan in the bathroom. The shower had black mould in and the toilet pan had not been cleaned properly for a long time (no toilet brush in the toilet/ bathroom). The cooked breakfast was dried up and the advertised 24 hour bar didn't open until 5pm.
Review 27:Staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable and the linen and towels were clean.
Review 28:The room especially the bathroom. The toilet wouldn't flush without taking the top off and flushing.
Review 29:The location and the friendliness of the staff.only a couple of minutes out of the centre
Review 30:The hotel needs decorating, the corridors were very tatty and gave a poor first impression. All in all everywhere was very old and dated.
Review 31:Very friendly and helpful staff and very good breakfast.
Review 32:Bed was 2 singles put together, bedding was dirty, window and walls dirty.Bathroom did not have any form of heating and so it was way too cold to even have a shower!
Review 33:The locality and the staff
Review 34:The hotel absolutely stunk of stale curry, it actually made me gag on the way out of the hotel. Bed was terrible. Pillows were dirty. Couldn't wait to get out of there.
Review 35:Nothing
Review 36:I stayed over 1 night. The day after I shockingly developed flea bites all over my body Limited choice on the menu TV in the bar did not work
Review 37:Free parking
Review 38:The decor in the hotel is a bit out dated.
Review 39:The price was far cheaper than anywhere else in Wolverhampton on a Friday night. Big comfy double bed. Easy to find, with lots of parking. Good location for city centre. It's nothing special but had everything you could need and at great value. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Review 40:When pulling up in the large car park about a dozen asylum seekers sat around watching every move we made. Very intimidating I understand hotels have to make money but should give paying customers this information before the book a room. Will not be staying any where again without asking in future.
Review 41:Room was a good size, nice and clean. Staff very friendly
Review 42:Seems quite dated.
Review 43:Staff were pleasant. Parking was very good. Spacious rooms and best of all i saw Andy Fordam and Scott Mitchell. The bar/dining area was very good.
Review 44:Room check in we found a dirty glass & empty can on the table.iron burn mark on the carpet.dodgy plumbing & bodged fixtures/fittings in bathroom!hotel very smelly & dirty.3* rating needs urgently reviewing!not happy at all as you sold us this misleading & substandard product!travel lodge would put this hotel to shame.
Review 45:The hotel was dirty, it smelt. The sheets in the bed smelt. The whole hotel needed decorating. They only had one room booked for me even though I had booked and paid for two. Fortunately they managed to give me a room after seeing my email
Review 46:Needed a little up dateing. And bathroom had hairs in the hanky box not nice. The TVs didn't work we ask reception but no one came to fix it we were not impressed.
Review 47:Hot water appeares to be limited, decor very outdated.
Review 48:At £40 per room, you get what you pay for. Rooms and decor are dated, but it was only somewhere to put your head!! Breakfast was good, self service, cereals plus hot buffet. Bar was open till very late, so if you wanted a final.drink, no probs.
Review 49:Drinks at the bar were quite limited
Review 50:We all thought it was great value for the price we paid and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.
Review 51:In the morning there was terrible noise coming from the parking lot on the backside of the building. Music was playing so loud that we were not able to fall asleep again.
Review 52:Unlike the reviews said, the room was really clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful, parking no problem and bus connection was great.
Review 53:Checked in on arrival and a maintenance man came soon after to fix the shower head which was loose and had been reported by a previous guest and we pointed out that the basin waste in the bathroom drained extremely slowly as it appeared to be blocked- he was not able to clear it while we were there. We were unimpressed with the standard of room cleaning and the hotel looked tired and in need of refurbishment.
Review 54:The Breakfast.
Review 55:did not like the smell or really badly stained carpets for the entire walkway to reception right up to room the the hotel needs a makeover as it is really dirty -dirty curtains
Review 56:the lift and not having to walk far to the room due to disabilities - the friendly staff - the lovely comfortable bed
Review 57:The bed was dirty it had marks on like curry stains there was a plastic wrapper in the bed and instruction leflet for durex. There was a sliver fish in the bed too.The whole room needs plastering and redecorating edecora
Review 58:The hotel is grubby from top to bottom carpets are stained with goodness knows what. During the one night stay other residents were very noisy and the bed was the most uncomfortable ever.
Review 59:There really is nothing to like about the hotel. The pictures in the advertisement must be years old.
Review 60:No dinner availability that evening; rather dirty and littered, possibly due to concurrent large noisy Christening party. Noisy in room from traffic if window opened. Hot if left closed.
Review 61:Convenient situation, friendly helpful staff
Review 62:Décor a little tired, strange smell in hall from car park to reception.
Review 63:I required an overnight stop for an early admission to Newcross hospital for day surgery so needed clean bedding and bathroom , plenty of hot water at a good price. This fitted the bill well. Did not require any other facilities so cannot comment.
Review 64:The tea at breakfast was, frankly, awful - like a kind of tepid liquid sawdust. When checking out I mentioned this and the receptionist said that if I had wanted a pot of tea they would have willingly provided one - which was great but too late. Perhaps you could have a notice saying 'a pot of teas available on request'. Otherwise the hotel was fine - no problems, but this time we were fortunately further away from the ventilator or whatever it is which makes a droning noise in the night.
Review 65:The absence of fuss, and the fact that everything was clean and worked well.
Review 66:Doors didn't work. Guy kept following u around. TV would turn on n off same with phone and alarm clock. The corridors! Wow indeed of a make over desperately. So do the rooms.
Review 67:We were waiting at reception for our room key for awhile before we were seen . all the carpets were dirty in the hole of the hotel thay put us over a party room were there was a wedding going on till early hours so didn't get any sleep I wouldn't stay here again.
Review 68:Staff was okay
Review 69:My room was cold because of the cold air coming from the window, even though it was closed. Thankfully the night manager gave us a extra quilt.
Review 70:The service from the staff. Very helpful, very informative.
Review 71:Mattress awful Bathroom awful - the sink has a huge crack in it Entrance from car park awful Dead spot in the room for wifi - had to keep going down to reception Overall the place was very tired and scruffy
Review 72:Girls on front desk tried their best to be helpful
Review 73:Overall Very Bad experience 4 day stay .had I not paid in advance Iwould excaped that place.i would not breathe in that room Terriblestuffy room n unclean and bathroom was dirty. Dirty carpets. Bed wasdeath trap the bed was worn out springs were kinda stabbing everytimeturned or got in or out of the bed. Their toaster was burning toast. Youname it everything was wrong with this hotel . quality hotel had no Damnquality . And very over price for such a place.
Review 74:There was nothing to like .it was that BAD....Overall Very Badexperience . Over priced for such a place.
Review 75:Limited tea/coffee making bedside lamps didn't work shower head held up by tape. Hard to adjust
Review 76:The free parking was good. The staff were friendly and helpful
Review 77:This is an old looking hotel in need of some maintance work. It lacks luster and i would not stop here again. No hot water on the last morning for a shower. Needs a good overhall.
Review 78:Food was good.
Review 79:The top floor was accesable via a function hall which was being used as a storage space and in the evening when the sun went down, there was no lighting to this area. Partner felt uncomfortable. Down stairs there was a function on which went on till around midnight. We were on the 4th floor and could still hear the music, god know what it must have been like for guests on the lower floors. The double bed was two single beds pushed together.
Review 80:Value for money. Location away from town centre and quiet. Staff on reception were great, really friendly and let us check out an hour late with no questions asked. Free WIFI and plenty of free parking, provided there isn't any functions on.
Review 81:Rooms needed repair and refurbishment really. Could have really done with an ironing board.
Review 82:Short walk to town. Staff were helpful. Room size was okay.
Review 83:Breakfast was not worth the £7.95 I paid. No coffee, no tea, no hot water, the toaster was old and broken. Only one half of it worked. When I arrived the person on the reception desk had to open the bar so I could have order a glass of wine. Wi Fi code on card was illegible ...
Review 84:Tea and coffee making facility in room, TV,
Review 85:The place stunk of wet dog and there was shouting and swearing nearly every night and also someone pulled their trousers down and pood all over the steps just disgusting
Review 86:My bed was clean
Review 87:food was poor ,cleanlieness ..24 hr bar was advertised, but was shut at 11 30pm,bathroom sink was blocked, broken chair in bedroom, lights not working, lift smelt of urinal
Review 88:nothing ,it was noisy,needs refurb .
Review 89:Unmaintained car park, with unattractive decor, everything is very old fashioned.
Review 90:The room was OK except for very thin walls! Could hear the couple next door talking all night.
Review 91:Can't fault this hotel in the slightest clean and comfortable. Very pleasent stay and very happy about the price. Will definitely be staying again.
Review 92:The noisy cleaners in the morning who knew we were in bed and had instructions to keep the noise down bit they never did.
Review 93:Liked the bed, staff on reception.
Review 94:First room was filthy, lots of hair on the bed and floor and the toilet was broken, it was flushing constantly. The receptionist moved us to another room, slightly bigger with a broken sink. Floor and walls still dirty but bed looked cleaner. There were no hot Drink sachets or milk. The thermostat was broken and the radiator wouldn't switch off so was really hot and in the night, a pigeon came in through our open window. The hairdryer when switched on just blew out smoke and had melted inside. Just great all round.
Review 95:The receptionist was really friendly and helpful
Review 96:Very tired Hotel,Needs a Big Makeover..we stay here quite often,Just seems to be going downhill....
Review 97:Value for money/Location./Staff were Excellent..
Review 98:The place smells bad when you walk and it hits you strongly. The lift is dirty and the place is run down. The reception area is not good, behind reception is very dirty and run down decor is very poor I would not recommend this hotel
Review 99:Not a lot
Review 100:Room was dirty with furniture falling apart. Top floor disused bar roomwas a mess. Booking.com bookings need to be clearer with regards to whatis included in the booking.
Review 101:Good location near to town centre. Staff were nice and courteous.Free wifi.
Review 102:Stay was noisy. I could hear the lift going all night, doors opening & closing, & paper thin walls meant I could hear every word of next room.
Review 103:Comfortable bed.Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff.
Review 104:The location and free parking and WiFi.Very friendly reception and we were given an upgrade when we found that the hair drier in the room was not working.
Review 105:Bed springs could be felt through the matresses, bath tub shower screen difficult to adjust so as to not get at soaking wet floor, no wifi in room (only in reception area downstairs) and doors very thin and not at all sound absorbing.
Review 106:Friendly staff, room facing away from traffic noise
Review 107:The Wi-Fi was very poor and kept losing signal.
Review 108:An excellent stay. Nice, clean room in a good location for what I needed to access in the town. Would definitely stay again.
Review 109:Our stay at Quality Hotel Wolverhampton was great. Especially the staff were very friendly and helpful. Some communications problems according our knowledge of English wasn't even a problem. Very important for us was a closeness of the city centre and the train station and the hotel met our expectations in this range.
Review 110:Keycard didn't work on room door. Waited from 11.40pm to 1.15am on the first night to get into our room. Rest of the weekend had to rely on hotel staff to open the door with some kind of reprogramming machine. Not one of the staff we dealt with either had the authority or the gumption to offer us any compensation for our inconvenience. Although some of them did apologise for the hassle, the most apologetic being the Eastern European gentleman trainee on the night desk, one particular member of staff seemed to think it was appropriate to joke about it.
Review 111:Hotel location
Review 112:Shortage of staff at breakfast on my final day. I waited 10 minutes before knocking on the staff door. I could here them chatting away but no-one had come out to check if anyone else had come into the restaurant
Review 113:The free wi-fi The free parking on site Only a short walk to my destination in the city centre
Review 114:The beds were not very supportive and saggy. The quilts were not wide enough. The shower needed updating to something more sophisticated.
Review 115:The location was good for us, a gentle walk into the centre of about 15-20 minutes.
Review 116:The meals and restaurant are described as American, however that may only apply may be to burger and chips; else most proper meals are spicy hot Indian dishes. The lift is under repair.
Review 117:Convenience and close to town.
Review 118:The Wi-Fi worked only for one of my notebooks, but it had to be at a special location that it won't lose the signal. My second notebook had no chance of connecting.
Review 119:The staff was very helpful and friendly, nice location, free parking lot
Review 120:Service was horrendous. I had to work from 9am -1am that day and asked for them if I could check in later which I was told yes then when I arrived they out me down as a no show and I lost the money and anywhere to stay. I was so angry I found accommodation elsewhere for my second night
Review 121:The heating was turned right down when we arrived, had to get behind a chair to find the control to turn it up. But worked perfectly after that.
Review 122:Everything was easy - food on the spot, decent restaurant, great fish! Friendly, but not over friendly staff. Comfortable bed.
Review 123:The room was very basic and a bit dated, however tea and coffee facilities were welcome but we had mismatched cups and not enough milk. Only one set of towels for the two of us. At breakfast there was only one waitress there were no bowls for cereals and only one side of the toaster was working. The cooked breakfast was cooked to order but not very hot.
Review 124:Finding the hotel was straightforward and parking was a real plus. The décor downstairs in the reception and dining/bar area was modern and clean. Free Wi-Fi and flat screen tv in the room was appreciated.
Review 125:We found the hotel to be excellent value for money. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. We would be more than happy to stay again and recommend to others
Review 126:I payed for a double room which I would expect to get a double bed but was given a room with 2 single beds shoved together with a gap in between presented as a double bed. Not pleasant at all
Review 127:Good location, friendly staff
Review 128:The elder receptionist who checked me out was more concerned with her personal phone call than me. There was a strange smell in the bathroom.
Review 129:The young receptionist who checked me in was very polite and helpful. The bed was lovely and comfortable.
Review 130:Could not get into my room on 3 occasions due to card reader. Radiator falling apart in room. Sink in bathroom cracked. Rooms not soundproof.
Review 131:Staff very helpful.
Review 132:They didnt have any record of our booking when we arrived, were extremely unhelpful, the hotel was dirty, shabby and nosiy, would not ever recommend this hotel.
Review 133:Furnishings tired. Noisy until 11:00 from function room then could hear neighbours talking through walls. Bath side high and no grab rails.
Review 134:Staff helpful. Bed comfy. Nice shower.
Review 135:the hotel was fine when i stayed, however trying to retreve an item when left behind was a mamoth task, i called in the evening after i unpacked and reaised my partner had left his 2 tops. the staff explained i would have a call back in te morning, that never happened i had to call back, i was then told again i would get a call back that never happened. i then called again to be told they have found it and will keep it behind reception for me. there was no problem with the staff in it self i do not appritiate being told one thing and the staff doing another. my only gripe is when someone says they will call the decent thing to do is call. i didnt know there was free wifi? so i can not comment on this.
Review 136:the bed was masive king size, but the douvet was a double.
The Fine Print
