Reviews for Riverside House
Review 1:Great location, nice easy walk into town centre. Lovely breakfast, friendly staff. Rooms recently refurbished. Can't fault anything and we would defintely go back if we were visiting Cirencester again, which itself it a beautiful, quaint town.
Review 2:Having arrived late I had to phone the hotel as there was no visible entrance, they answered "Mitsubishi" and was told to collect my room key from the security lodge on the gate. Poorly run "Hotel" that I was told is actually Mitsubishi's conference centre.
Review 3:Driving out of the lorry park in the morning
Review 4:Fair walk into town centre - would have been easier in better weather.Maps showed pedestrian route are misleading - it doesn't seem to exist. Disappointing only food available at weekend was for breakfast. Only one chair in double room - aargh!
Review 5:Very quiet - part of training centre not used at weekends, and no traffic noise inside despite being next to dual carriageway and part of DHL depot. Competitive price for area. Rooms refurbished and very comfortable.
Review 6:Grubby carpets in hallways, chipped paintwork on skirtings and door frames. Generally a bit shabby looking outside of the rooms
Review 7:Location, breakfast, comfortable bed and well-appointed room.
Review 8:Renovations are underway - we stayed in two renovated rooms and they were terrific; spacious, clean and well appointed - in addition, we had access to the washing machine and dryer at no cost; a real bonus when travelling and living out of a suitcase. Jackie and the other staff were very pleasant and helpful. Don't be put off by the location next to the Mitsubishi plant - secure car parking was another bonus.
Review 9:Fully renovated. Everything was brand new. We stayed there during the weekend and the lady that was there was very helpful and we had a very pleasant stay.
Review 10:Quite spooky as hardly anyone onsite. Broken toilet in two of the four rooms booked and no hairdryers, none in the storeroom where they were supposed to be!
Review 11:Location and breakfast
Review 12:Floors dirty, toilet seat unattached, light not working, filling hanging out of cover, etc, etc. Servicing of room unacceptable and no staff around at weekend. Refurbishing needed and have written to Manager with complaints
Review 13:The hall I stayed in had gone under refurbishments and my door had just been painted therefore my whole room whiffed of paint. Apart from that was overall good
Review 14:Food was pretty decent. Staff was attentive.
Review 15:no staff at reception this was known before hand. the shower was broken and only gave very hot or very cold water, was unable to take a shower in the morning. breakfast was provided and was reasonable. location sited our purpose but was fairly remote from the town centre
Review 16:not a lot
Review 17:The road signs for Watermoor Road were not good (local council) and the Booking .com directions were appalling. It was noted as No.96 which it's not, and the entrance and parking is on an industrial estate through a manned security barrier, which gives no indication that the hotel entrance is through the security gate. Without precise directions none of the clues to finding the place seems to make sense. Having been within 100 yards of the place three times, it still took us an hour to find it. More directions needed.
Review 18:Very good breakfast. Value for money
Review 19:Buffet breakfast lukewarm warm
Review 20:Beautiful place Lovely Excellent refurbished room with all home comforts Lovely garden Easy walking distance to town Highly recommended
Review 21:The photos don't show the trucks next door. Very much a conference centre rather than hotel (which isn't bad, just unexpected). The shower was very loud.
Review 22:Clean and tidy room, nicely decorated with well thought out facilities (hair dryer, local guide books etc) The double glazing prevented any noise in the room, very quiet.
Review 23:thanks for the other night stay it was clean and very comfort in the rooms .The chef who came in on the sunday was excellent food was so tasty will book there again if in the area.
Review 24:Not easy to find ! No drawers in room. Bed lamps useless with opaque black shades. Only one chair.
Review 25:Excellent buffet breakfast, friendly, helpful staff.
Review 26:Poor value for money, poor location as it is part of an Industrial site and the entrance is through the security gate and view the looks either onto the truck loading bay or a noisy duel carriageway.
Review 27:Nothing
Review 28:Bed, lack of air in room, no fans or extractor in bathroom, really bad fumes from the painting that was going one which gave us both headaches, Breakfast really tasteless
Review 29:Traffic from main road noisy
Review 30:Traffic from the main road was a little too noisy but the hotel was very clean, the room facilities were good and the staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and very welcoming. Definitely excellent value. Easily found and very close to the town. Would recommend if you wanted a cheaper place to stay?
Review 31:Room dark, corridor lights did not work until the morning we left, 3rd bed had sunken matress, sink taps very stiff, could only get hot water at first, then only cold water.
Review 32:Easy to find, good shower. Plenty of milk for hot drinks, and biscuits. Friendly staff.Quiet hotel.
Review 33:The evening meal was pretty poor. Pasta Carbonara is not an overpowering mushroom sauce with sliced bacon dumped on top of a pile of sticky pasta shells and the cheesecake was not nice at all. Parking space is very limited.
Review 34:Nice refurbished room, security great, staff excellent and very helpful. Breakfast nice.
Review 35:Rooms are a bit Spartan. A refurbishment is underway so this may change.
Review 36:The name Riverside House conjures up images of a rural retreat so we were a little bit surprised to find the hotel behind a security gate on an industrial complex and right next to the ring road. Nevertheless, despite an element of traffic noise, the hotel was clean and comfortable and breakfast was good.
Review 37:Conmunal areas - stained carpets, grubby walls, bedrooms similar. Bed mattress springs coming through!!! Breakfast chef on her mobile in thr corner of the dining area . No meet or greet facility. Hugely overpriced for the standard delivered.
Review 38:This was an appalingly dirty grubby venue, with no receptionist- a security guard was in charge of room keys. The venue was a training centre for a motor vehicle company. A bad experience for the consumer.
Review 39:Horribly close to a main road which is elevated. Lorry depot behind. Had to keep windows closed for some quiet to sleep.
Review 40:Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast, large comfortable room with large comfortable bed and plenty of hot water. Reminded me of my college residential block! Nice bright reading lamps.
Review 41:No one to check you in, your key if left with a man on the barrier office ! NO staff in the hotel in the evening or overnight The bar closes at 8pm
Review 42:The bedrooms really need a facelift, The carpets are old and marked and the bathrooms clean but very dated and old.
Review 43:The location was very secure being inside the Mitsubishi HQ compound. Good parking and very helpful staff. They emailed to say my daugher had left a camera chip in the bed and where would we like it mailed to. Very kind.
Review 44:nothing to dislike
Review 45:the staff were very friendly & helpful the breakfast was lovely location was great 10 min walk into town the hotel was easy to fine and the room was light & airy and a good size
Review 46:Heating in our bedroom was in the ceiling itself - we never felt really warm but it seemed to affect my sleeping. Odd arrangement with no access directly onto Watermoor Road itself - only over a footbridge from the adjacent Mitsubishi car park. Seems to work more as accommodation for Mitsubishi staff meals and overnight stays - bar never open - difficult getting in and out especially at weekends. Wouldn't stay there again.
Review 47:Convenient walk into town.
Review 48:It was a hostel - not a hotel. Walls paper thin. Decor horrid. Grubby/cracked everything. Desperately needs attention.
Review 49:Location to where I was working and secure parking
Review 50:The place is in need of a bit of TLC. I was not aware that its main purpose is as a training centre and accommodation for Mitsubishi motors uk. Our full english breakfast was cold apart from a fried egg that was placed on my plate straight from the pan and being a typical brit, I did not complain at the time.
Review 51:The room was OK for one night.
Review 52:There was nothing to dislike! When we visit family again we will be looking to book at Riverside House.
Review 53:The central position of Riverside House. We were visiting family just up the road. Peaceful and quiet - comfortable clean room, All facilities to hand. Well organized. We were a little concerned when we read there was no Reception, but we needn't have been. Perfect and secure.
Review 54:Staff not there at the weekend, meals only breakfast available, and the stay was very much a case of do it yourself. however we coped.
Review 55:The Staff whilst there were very friendly, Breakfast was excellent. And the stay was value for money for what we needed.
Review 56:Dirty carpet in hallways and bedroom, tatty state of some of the walls, uneven working of door closers some some slammed
Review 57:Location, security, car parking facility, breakfast
Review 58:It was noisy, room next door had a motor running until midnight. Breakfast could have been better ( cold ). Noise outside at 2am.
Review 59:Room was clean and comfotable inside. Man at the main gate was helpful.
Review 60:No staff on duty in hotel, only security gate keeper. Facilities, bar & restaurant not open over weekend, not made clear on original details, but mentioned in small print on confirmation.
Review 61:Carpets and general halls not clean.
Review 62:Easy check in and out. Good room size. Tea/coffee/biscuits in room. All freindly staff. Room clean. Canteen clean. TV. Good room temperature. 1 night availability at weekends.
Review 63:The car park was very secure, as it was in the compound of the Colt car company with security. It was walking distance into Town. The staff were limited at the weekend, but friendly & helpful. Generous beverage supplies. Good size room.
Review 64:Dirty bed linen, pillow cases inside out. Stains on top bed cover. Very hot in room and very noisy throughout the night. Breakfast was ok but it was canteen style which we weren't expecting.
Review 65:Accommodation interior in general is looking a bit tired and a re decoration is due.
Review 66:Breakfast Chef was fantastic as was the breakfast and facilities Parking was excellent.
Review 67:The access into the car parking area within the colt car company is a bit odd but not an inconvenience and the security gained by having a boom gate and security guard is appreciated.
Review 68:The Riverside was comfortable and quiet place to stay and it was a easy walk into town. Breakfast was substantial and the staff were very helpful.
Review 69:The river looks like it is really a drainage channel, the building is accessed by a warehouse loading area complete with security gate. It is in need of maintenance, there are no staff except for the person providing breakfast who was trying. The breakfast wasn't much good and WiFi only available in bar/dining area which was only operating for breakfast.
Review 70:Absolutely nothing
Review 71:Noisey being close to a busy main road. Nobody there at weekend except the cook for a cooked breakfast. Everywhere needs painting and new carpets. The location is diar.
Review 72:The room was ok! Just.
Review 73:noisy doors, the other guests had to leave early so from 6.30am for an hour on the Sunday their doors were banging.
Review 74:Rooms were clean, comfortable, security staff were very friendly, secure parking, great breakfast.
Review 75:It was like staying in a hostel The shower was rubbish The room had mould and everything needed updating The carpet was stained and dirty
Review 76:The staff were nice They helped me when I needed directions
Review 77:extremely difficult to find , just stumbled on it by chance,( as we reached the end of the road,) after several trips up and down watermoor rd,
Review 78:could not fault the riverside , excellent all round, amazing lunch on our arrival . would highly recommend
Review 79:Acoustics are really an issue. The carpet in the room we occupied needs attention.
Review 80:The reception from the Breakfast Chef. He has a natural people skill: very welcoming and professional. He gave a service second to none. Thank you for making us feel welcome right from the minute we arrived to the moment of our departure. Breakfast was superb!
Review 81:That there was no hand soap in en suit dispenser or the shower gel dispenser both totally empty. Very clean rooms though found hair on bk of bathroom door and tiles about shower unit. No staff on site except the chef after 4pm and didn't know where best places where to eat in the area so asked security guard on the gate whom directed us to a small pub up the rd that felt like a establishment from hot fuzz though food lovely just very empty and looked closed due to lighting in the bar and three others sat at the bar place was in darkness got the feeling Cirencester closed at weekends
Review 82:Allowed to our room though early ish and only had a two hr window to arrive as no staff after 4pm Friday till next true working day. The reception was lovely
Review 83:Breakfast was aporling well I eat it cause I was hungry nothing had any taste there was 4 of us in the group and we all agreed the same the cereal was nice tho and juice was ok but coffee was cold and when I spoke to was worker she told we it always is so I went back to our room to have a cup of tea instead
Review 84:Comfy bed Hot water Great shower
Review 85:The hotel backs onto a distribution warehouse so lorries can be heard at night, although sleep was not disturbed by this.
Review 86:Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was slightly cheaper than the nearby Travel Lodge and included breakfast which the TL did not.
Review 87:We didn't like the fact you had to walk round to the back on an industrial estate to access the front door. Found it very scruffy inside. The room we were allocated was dirty. The bathroom had been design extremely badly, you banged your head on the shower whilst using the toilet.
Review 88:Location and no staff on duty on arrival to greet you and check in very confusing and not knowing the place and left on your own to find your way around. Nothing is explained. On arrival met with security person he only told us where the enterance was The only member of staff is the kitchen in the morning
