Review 6:not a great deal

Review 7:Beds weren't that comfortable woke up with back pain and pillows were poor. Also had an old smell about the place

Review 8:Location was really nice staff we're friendly

Review 9:Public areas and bedroom very run down, outlook of room not very good; poor lighting in room, not adequate storage. Lift out of the arc and would question safety as no inner door!

Review 10:The location was good for a local wedding we were attending

Review 11:The double bed was 2 single mattresses on a base and you sunk in the middle uncomfortable for an excecutive room

Review 12:The staff you could not fault very polite and curteous and spa was great

Review 13:The rooms were quite hot during the night we didn't seem to be able to control the temperature of the radiator but that is a minor issue

Review 14:Staff were friendly and welcoming, my steak dinner was superb, although my wife was a little unfortunate that her choice of meal was not available

Review 15:Everything was fine

Review 16:I liked the staff ! The male night porter with a Irish accent was extra helpful and friendly which makes a stay feel more comfortable. When I woke up the night porter helped me to surve my breakfast and showed me the gym facilities and pool. The beds was comfortable and the rooms was warm, plenty of room to park too

Review 17:Tv to small Breakfast took a long time Pillows were to soft and there was not enough of them

Review 18:The. Larger size of the room Staff really friendly Everything was clean

Review 19:requested triple room for 3 adults given 1double and 1 single requested change but said they were fully booked. Large black mouldy damp patch on ceiling. We were on the 3rd floor.

Review 20:lovely breakfast

Review 21:The corridor had a smell of sweaty dogs, the room was small and the scrambled egg at breakfast was the poorest, tasteless scambled egg I have been served in more than three score years! Overall, breakfast choice and service was poor!

Review 22:The Bistro meal was good

Review 23:We had dinner and BB, thought set dinner was bit confusing Taster menu, never fully understood concept, i had scallops.....was the smallest i have ever seen all dried up and tiny, about same size as a small prawn.

Review 24:Stayed at hotel before so we knew Hotel was a little rustic but traditional. Location is ideal in middle of town. Love the old furniture in lounge areas

Review 25:The hotel is very tired and shabby looking, everywhere was dusty and carpets were not clean in a lot of areas, used the swimming pool which was cloudy and the spa, there are plastic edgings around it which comes of all the time you are sitting in it, the changing rooms, some of the lockers were unusable, the breakfast was average, tea, coffee cold, toast cold, cooked breakfast very average

Review 26:The staff were friendly and helpful

Review 27:It seems like while some of the rooms were renovated a few years ago, the bathrooms were a bit neglected. We were moved rooms because we weren't happy with the first room. In both rooms the toilet roll holders were coming off the walls and the toilet seats were loose. The swimming pool changing could also use a refresh as there was damp on the walls and broken mixer taps.

Review 28:The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great and the breakfast was good. We also liked the swimming pool.

Review 29:We weren't told timings of breakfast when we checked it. Really felt that we would've not been too bothered about a very tired and crumbling looking bathroom as well as decor if we hadn't paid £279 for two nights. Think it should've been much less. Hotel pricing itself at higher end for drinks, food etc but not quite reaching the standard fully.

Review 30:Location was great. The room looked nice enough and cleaning of room was super efficient.

Review 31:Reception staff in particular were unhelpful and unfriendly. Hotel itself very disappointing. One room was a double not enough space for two people in room at same time.

Review 32:Location

Review 33:No water pressure in the shower on my final day of stay. Not very pleased about that. Took 2hrs to get served food in the restaurant bar on our final night of the stay.

Review 34:The location was perfect and the room was great - clean and spacious. The receptionist was very helpful and polite also.

Review 35:the swimming pool is freezing especially for young children. also the lack of help finding our room. I am a single parent with 2 young children the place is like a maze

Review 36:the food is lovely and very comfortable and clean

Review 37:On arrival there was a bit of a musty smell in the hotel, found room was fine and beds were clean.Towel radiator was taped up with black tape!! Right hand side curtain has big rip on it. Room 133.

Review 38:Reception staff very efficient as were the staff at breakfast. disappointed to find you charge £2 to pay by Debit Card, have never come up against this before.

Review 39:The leisure pool was too busy. There was an unpleasant smell in the corridor outside the dining room. Our room in the annex was very cold overnight and the bed covers did not provide sufficient warmth.

Review 40:The location of the hotel is excellent. The staff in the dining room were all very friendly and attentive.

Review 41:Dining room and corridors were smelly. Hotel needs refurbished. Asked to go through to night bar when they closed public bar but it took ages to open and then sold very little

Review 42:Great location in lovely little town

Review 43:receptionist forever leaving her desk to assist other guests. Dining room staff need better training and a person to clear tables would assist them.

Review 44:Comfortable clean room

Review 45:On arrival, the room had a foosty smell, almost like cigarette smoke. The hotel carpets throughout are in need of being replaced and they made the hotel feel a bit grubby. The worst point for us was having to wait in a queue in a corridor for 30 minutes for a table for breakfast. On a positive we were served tea and coffee almost immediately and our food order was taken straight after this, however, we them waited a further 30 minutes to be served our food and by that time the dinning room was quite empty, so not sure why it took so long.

Review 46:Hotel was in a good central location. We had a family room for my husband, myself and our 7 year old and were pleasantly surprised to have a double bed and a proper single bed in the room which had plenty of space. We have often went to hotels and end up with a fold down bed for our daughter so this was a positive.

Review 47:On the first night there didn't appear to be sufficient hot water to have more than a very shallow tepid bath, also, being in one of the executive double rooms situated in the old bank of Scotland buildings across from the main hotel, made for a noisy fairly sleepless night as traffic travelling down roads on two sides of the building could be clearly heard throughout the night

Review 48:The space and comfort of the room were lovely, the food in the adjoining bar McNabs was excellent, and breakfast in the main restaurant was very nice

Review 49:We went during the light festival (we had no idea) and we queued for breakfast tables. They did extend the breakie times to be fair, and the service at breakfast was exceptional. The carpark, although quite large was busy at this time due to the event which seems very popular.

Review 50:Spa facilities available, though we didnt use them as only one night. Nice room, comfy bed. Great location as right in the centre, yet off the main road

Review 51:You get what you pay for but £107 for one night stay was excessive for this hotel. It's in dire need of a facelift. The room was dusty and the carpet was really quite soiled. Condensation on the windows. Luckily we weren't in the actual hotel but the annex building. The stench of damp is overwhelming as you walk into the hotel lobby. The staff weren't very friendly and offered no niceties. Disappointing.

Review 52:The location was ideal.

Review 53:The accommodation was very small which meant the double bed was small. The receptionist did not acknowledge our presence and was pre-occupied with a lengthy telephone conversation. The soft furnishings and internal paintwork needs some attention.

Review 54:The Hotel location. The waiting staff were very friendly and efficient, the food was excellent for both dinner and breakfast

Review 55:The problem is it is very dated, I don't think it has been decorated or new seating and tables in the lounge area since we were there last. ( 4 years ago ) Our room had a broken tap and the towel rail was hanging off with a large crack in the plaster where it was trying to hold on, and the woodwork needs a lick of paint as does the radiator. Also no radio or tissues were in the room. Staff could have been a little friendlier with a smile and a good morning when passing reception, and we also had a 25 minute wait for breakfast on our first morning, as they were so busy.

Review 56:This is our 2nd time at this Hotel, to see the Enchanted Forest. We find it ok especially with the spa and swiming pool. Room comfortable.

Review 57:the internal of the hotel could do with a refurbishment and the family accommodation front access across the road is in need of improvement. Plus the hotel has a musty/damp smell throughout.

Review 58:Room very basic for the price Bar expensive and high charge for using a debit card Vegetarian breakfast minimal

Review 59:Staff friendly Central location

Review 60:Cleanliness is my concern, maybe the carpet isn't clean enough. Need to improve facilities inside the room like providing refrigerator.

Review 61:Staff were all nice...good location.

Review 62:While the hotel was nice, I don't really feel that it was worth the cost. I had booked a twin room (9 months in advance of our stay), and was given a double- not a problem for us as we did not mind sharing, but not what I booked. The mattress was not brilliant, and some of the furniture in the room was 'dated'. There was free wi-fi available, but as we were at the top of the hotel, my phone was unable to connect to it, however my friend's could albeit intermittently.

Review 63:The staff were friendly and efficient, and the room was clean. The food in the bar was excellent and good value for money. The breakfast had a good selection.

Review 64:Hotel very tired needs a complete refurb. Leisure facilities not too clean. Room very noisy backed onto a road with busy traffic and noisy in the morning with staff - room directly above back door used by staff and very noisy from 7 am.

Review 65:Loved location beautiful scenery.

Review 66:our mattress was to hard and uncomfortable, needs replacing/updating. Pool was rather cold for a hotel facility :-( and my bug bare is the £2 charge for paying debit/card.

Review 67:staff couldn't do enough for us and liked the pool and sauna/steam. Food was really good. would recommend and like the fact we can bring the dog and kids to .

Review 68:Bed a bit hard. Lack of staff in afternoon meant tables lying uncleared for hours. No kids menu in bar so went elsewhere.

Review 69:Handy location for town. Breakfast maitre d was excellent. Breakfast food good.

Review 70:The hotel smells. Each corridor seemed to have its own unique bad smell. One bit of the corridor always had a window open which confused me given it was cold outside but then I realised it was to prevent the area smelling more. You had to go through a restaurant of people eating in order to get to the swimming area or else go through a very convoluted route through different corridors. The place was very cold on arrival. We had to queue for 15 minutes for a table at breakfast even though there were empty tables available. Service wasn't great once we were seated. There was paint coming off the walls. Several of the machines in the gym didn't work. Hotel is in desperate need of renovations. Decor is terrible.

Review 71:There is a car park.

Review 72:There are 3 properties. No elevators. Hard to carry luggage up teh stairs. All of us (15) are splited up in 3 buidings Receptionist was overwhelmed. Hotel.lost my booking

Review 73:. Breakfast has a big variety of cooked food and you can order them diretly

Review 74:Room had been broken into- unable to close window which overlooked a path below and room was easily accessible. Hotel fully booked, so we couldn't be moved. Bathroom needed renovation after Summer months. No view over town or hills as expected.

Review 75:Breakfast was first class and waiter service very efficient and pleasant.

Review 76:The breakfast was included in the price but it wasn't what we would class as Scottish although it had haggis black pudding there was no potato scone or beans. And the sausage was rank

Review 77:Nice location friendly staff very clean

Review 78:We had booked a spa day during our stay and while each component was very good it didn't run as smoothly as we had hoped. They were however very apologetic and gave us a discount.

Review 79:The beds were really comfy, breakfast excellent and location perfect.

Review 80:Dated decor; problems with toilet flush in both the rooms we had, problems with badly wired lamp in one room- all very readily and politely fixed by staff, but they should not have happened.

Review 81:Great location, lovely old building, marvellous choice for breakfast.Comfortable walking distance to the theatre. We parked our car and didn't move it all weekend- the sign of an excellent location.

Review 82:doors to the toilets/bar areas a bit sticky - could do with some deep cleaning

Review 83:came by train. didn't need the car. great location and facilities. good breakfast. staff helpful.

Review 84:Hotel was very old but wouldn't say that was a negative just gave it character. Floors very creeky and made room creepy at times.

Review 85:Loved the town will definitely be back. Met some lovely people at hotel and had a really nice stayx

Review 86:Badly needing updated Plaster hanging off the wall at leisure entrance. Window sills covered in moss. New windows needed. Stale smell in the building

Review 87:Room was very small and very tatty, there were lots of foreign tourists and guess they would not have been left with a good impression? Breakfast was poor I ordered eggs benedict which arrived on a stale muffin luke warm with a rasher of fat with a bit if undercooked bacon attached

Review 88:Good location. The restaurant over the road Victorias was superb - I didn't want to eat in Hotel.

Review 89:The reception staff could have been more welcoming and friendly and there was a dirty tissue left between the desk and wardrobe in our room and a hair in the bath.

Review 90:Easy to find and nice and central. Good car parking facilities. Comfortable bed and the breakfast was good. The room was perfectly adequate for our 1 night stay.

Review 91:As we were two male friends I booked a family room and phoned the Tuesday prior to the visit to ensure separate beds. On arrival only one double. Complaint to manager got a small (rather uncomfortable) portable bed in the room.

Review 92:excellent specials on the bar menu, good value for lovely food.

Review 93:The main restaurant smelt like an old peoples home and other areas of the building were looking very tired. The facilities for disabled were not great and the lift was close on being dangerous ( many finger trap areas)

Review 94:The new bar was lovely albeit access was not the best. The meals in there were really good and the staff in the bar were very accommodating, helpful and pleasant.

Review 95:Bedroom decor tired and mattress really not comfortable. Cold water shower whilst it woke me up was not my preferred option!

Review 96:Great location and ample parking

Review 97:Did not live up to standard. Did not have the view as promised onbooking.com. The Wifi was shaky and no Wifi on 3rd floor. The room thatwe got was very small and we could not have a window open due to thenoise from the ventilation in the hotel kitchen.

Review 98:The breakfast was good.

Review 99:We ate in the bar. The menu looked great. Food was ok but did not quite match what we expected - possibly our welcome and room led to high expectations.

Review 100:Just what we needed after a night in Edinburgh. The room was great. Spacious and clean with a large bathroom and lots of hot water!

Review 101:Double bed quite small. Leisure facilities closed at 6pm on a Sunday. Breakfast was a shambles, poor staff remained friendly despite being understaffed for the number of guests they had to deal with.

Review 102:Room clean and tidy, good whisky selection in the bar. Nice leisure facilities.

Review 103:Wifi was only available in reception, not rooms. Hotel is dated decor wise inside, need some general upgrading, however not unexpected given the size of the premises, which would be very expensive. Some smell in places i.e reception area!!! Room cost also on high side.

Review 104:Very spacious rooms, great breakfast, good location, outside looked very nice. Had swimming pool, but had no time to use. Perfect for our 1 night stay

Review 105:parking was troublesome on site. the staff at the reception was not ready to help in terms of parking.

Review 106:very good location. food was good. Pitlochery Fish Ladder is walk-able from the hotel. Bell's distillery is near by as well. the pool was good.

Review 107:We were on the 3rd floor and all through the night a water pump would start up (getting water up to our floor every time someone went to the toilet or had a shower), this was noisy and annoying. There was no wifi in the restaurant

Review 108:Close to town.

Review 109:Felt the whole hotel was tired. Needs brightening up with lighter paint colour scheme. The reception area needs revamping. Not the most welcoming area to meet your first member of staff. Also felt that their should have been a bar open in the small lounge as there were quite a number of people sat in their and would have been nice to have seen the bar attended. Felt the leisure area was good but would have been nicer if the area outside the pool had a small bar open where you could have had a coffee or soft drinks available, crisps etc as there were quite a number of children using the pool. Maybe some piped music with a Scottish theme would have been nice .

Review 110:Husband liked the use of leisure amenities. Liked the location being within walking distance of the high street.

Review 111:Had to queue 30 minutes to get seated for Sunday breakfast. Had to ask to get a few things during breakfast, water jug filled, glass for water, butter on table, sauce for cooked breakfast.

Review 112:friendly, good location, clean rooms

Review 113:Poor breakfast and so slow serving it late time for breakfast to start didn't bother second day because late and really not worth the wait. Double room only a single pack of biscuits. Bar staff totally no idea or knowledge of what they are selling Advise go out for breakfasting quicker and probably a more hearty meal in McDonald's

Review 114:Good location decent facilities

Review 115:A couple of members of staff were quite abrupt in their dealings with us but most of them were very friendly, polite and professional.

Review 116:The suite we were in was really lovely and the extra touches were appreciated, eg the fruit basket full of a variety of delicious fruit which was replenished every morning. The breakfasts are also worth a mention- absolutely delicious! We tried something different each morning as we could tell each item on the menu would all be exceptional.

Review 117:No wifi in my room - ok in rest of hotel & signal not available in the room. Staff not interested when I complained. Slow breakfast service & insufficient staff & organisation. Some staff not very helpful or responsive.

Review 118:Centre of Pitlochry & the pool & spa

Review 119:Staff unhelpful , arrived early but they didn't prioritize our room even though had a 3 and 4 yr old and room wasn't even ready when normal check in time reached , half hour after! Expensive bar drinks

Review 120:The kids loved swimming in the pool, the beds were really comfy, breakfast awesome ! Location great !

Review 121:I couldn't find the wifi signal, so not sure if there was one? If I had stayed longer I may have asked.

Review 122:Comfortable bed and room, free breakfast greatly appreciated, allowed me to store my bike on site! Very nice. Quite luxe house/building. Didn't get a chance to go for a swim but it looked great!

Review 123:When we arrived waited 25 minutes before anyone came to book us in..the room was dirty so was the bathroom offered another that was even worse my birthday romantic get away was runied and booked out was left disappointed and let down as hotel was not like as seen on line .. The manager was disorganised and staff well there was none!!!

Review 124:Nothing

Review 125:A bit dated and in need of some general upgrading however not unexpected given the size of the premises.

Review 126:Central Location, Good Public Bar and Clean Room, Excellent Breakfast and friendly staff.

Review 127:Expensive for good rooms but not worth £78 for a single room. Neither had a good view which I know would be difficult in this part of town.

Review 128:Comfortable stay in good hotel in very convenient location. Helpful friendly staff.

Review 129:Our room was a little small and quite stuffy and warm as was on top floor in the roof space. The window was filthy and the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work.

Review 130:Great location in Pitlochry with parking. Friendly staff. Leisure facilities good

Review 131:Not having a window open in the room, it became very stuffy and didn't get a proper sleep. When booking it was a bath in room, but only got a shower. Had no response to emails sent to property....won't be back...

Review 132:Broken tap and towel rail in bathroom. One of the beds was squeaky and lopsided, perhaps broken. Spa area quite shabby, again broken items.

Review 133:Looked good from the outside

Review 134:Very disappointed in this hotel, very dated, not fresh. The staff where uninterested no interaction or atmosphere. Had a drink outside in the late afternoon and in the morning the glasses where still there. Very dated.

Review 135:Spa was closed without any notice. We chose this hotel for this reason so were disappointed. Majorly understaffed, especially at reception. Staff had poor customer service. Not very professional.

Review 136:Leisure facilities were good- pool, sauna, steam room etc

Review 137:More shortbread would be nice there was only one packet between two of us. WiFi in guest room not great.

Review 138:Breakfast was nice would have liked to take some haggis home as I really enjoyed it but don't normally eat it.butcher closed.staff very pleasant at breakfast and attentive.

Review 139:There was no drawer space whatsoever in room 302 so underclothes had to remain in our suitcase, and the lack of sufficient shelves in the en suite bathroom meant we had to store washing things and cosmetics on the window-sill in the bedroom. The window glass was filthy outside and clearly hadn't been cleaned for a very long (probably because it's high up and there are blocks on it making it impossible to clean from the inside): this meant that the lovely view we might have had from that window we couldn't see at all.

Review 140:The hotel is well located, just off the main street, so close to shops and within walking distance of the train station and the Festival Theatre. The staff are friendly, polite, helpful and efficient, and it was refreshing to have waiter/waitress service in the dining-room instead of it being wholly self-service as in most hotels nowadays. It was also nice to have keys instead of electronic gismos!

Review 141:Wifi was not very good The first morning there we were not sure on what we could have for breakfast And we didn't know you had the spa facility's

Review 142:The staff were good Place was lovely

Review 143:we were assured the WiFi was working but we had no internet access during our stay. There was one bar and said connection limited.

Review 144:The waiting staff were efficient, pool was great. A member of staff named Jackson was very kind and took friendly interest in our autistic grandson.

Review 145:We arrived before earliest check in time. Usually when that happens the staff will check if our room is ready but they didn't bother and just said come back at 3 o'clock. Room was tiny. The double bed was right upo against the wall on one side and right beside the door on the other. No room fo even one bedside table. Bar charged a £2 fee for paying for lunch by card (£26)
