Reviews for Hotel Douglas
Review 1:The friendliness of the staff and the location which for me was perfect although for anyone wanting to be in central Paris not so good. The price is also unbeatable but this does depend when you book and with which company.
Review 2:Our shower was in a closet and not in the bathroom. It was directly opened to the room, so we had no privacy to undress.
Review 3:The hotel is the first stop off of the T2 train from La Defense. Literally 2 to 3 minutes. It is also just down the stairs and maybe 50 meters walk. Very convenient. We were also able to leave our bags at reception after check out and come back for them later after our event was over.
Review 4:The beds are definitely only double beds so feel very small if you are used to larger than this!!
Review 5:Excellent location right next to the trams and train make it very easy to get straight into Paris.
Review 6:Bathroom made an aircraft loo seem spacious - perhaps part of the aviation theme?. A few more power sockets wouldn't go amiss either for laptops, phones etc which all modern travellers need to charge up.
Review 7:Loved the quirky reception filled with model aircraft (though staff knew little about them, it was the owner who was the aviation enthusiast which made me warm to him). Staff were friendly and efficient and spoke English. Bed was super comfy and I could watch BBC 1 on the in room TV (and not the hand wringing, worthy BBC World). Overall, cosy, welcoming and decent value.
Review 8:The room was much smaller than expected. Bathroom was also very small and tight to manoeuvre. I was awoken the first morning by the noise of construction. No air conditioning in the room meant that it was quite hot at night. A fan was available but not the same.
Review 9:The location was great! The man who checked us in was very friendly. Room was very clean.
Review 10:We were visiting family who lived 2 blocks away so this hotel was perfect for our needs. It is also close to Puteaux station so you can easily visit the centre of Paris. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly. We would certainly use it on future visits.
Review 11:the room is incredibly small and the bathroom is ridiculous. NO AIR CONDITIONING !!! Room is noisy because of facing the street and since you have to keep the window open. Price is too high and not value for money.
Review 12:location (because its close to la defence : 1 train stop)
Review 13:Overpriced according to the quality, service, location and overall look of the hotel. Rooms are small and overcrowded with cheap furniture of small size as well. Room toilet is very small as well. Uncomfortable for one guest, unpleasant for 2 guests. Rooms are separated from the corridor by a wall of 2 cm thick, not sound-proof at all. Hotel should not be rated as 3 stars. Unpleasant owner. He makes you feel you are an unwanted guest instead of making you feel at home.
Review 14:Rooms were tired, in terms of decor Shower cubicle very small Sparse funiture I stayed for 3 nights but if it was more than 7 days would struggle with facilties in the room. No coffee/tea making facilities.
Review 15:Location was brilliant for transport, Continental breakfast was plentiful Helpful staff throughout hotel Putueax is lovely district of Paris
Review 16:Will book bigger room next time but that's not a complaint.
Review 17:Hotel good. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Conviently situated for our stay to watch L'arc at Longchamps.
Review 18:Perfect location to visit Paris. Very near to tramway station, it just takes 15-20 minutes to be somewhere in the centre of Paris and price/quality relation is much more fair as in Paris centre. Very nice quarter in Puteaux.
Review 19:Super friendly and efficient staff even late at night. English speaking. arranged parking easily for me.
Review 20:The location, very close to Puteaux station. Wifi worked well.
Review 21:Helpful and 24hr service
Review 22:no ac should have fans in the room
Review 23:it was friendly the staff was good and it was clean
Review 24:Staff
Review 25:Location
Review 26:Check better the Wi-Fi network. Very slow in peak hours and not always working
Review 27:Good position close Puteaux Train Station
Review 28:bathroom is very small and there is no wifi in room
Review 29:The staff were very friendly and it is on a pleasant street in Puteaux
Review 30:The bed space
Review 31:Every other thing was fine
Review 32:Staff very friendly and helpful. Really nice location, just by a Metro station. Comfy bed and nice room. Well priced.
Review 33:Quiet, professional bilingual staff with secure parking.
Review 34:small shower small elevator
Review 35:location close to metro good breakfast
Review 36:no wifi old hotel needs lots of work
Review 37:bed clean room
Review 38:size of the room, structure of the room (bathroom and bedroom without doors between)
Review 39:kind staff
Review 40:Poor internet connection; almost non-existing Wi-Fi.
Review 41:The location of the hotel is very convenient; literally 25 meters to the Tram station connecting you with main railway/metro hub La Défense. Puteaux is also a very nice area.
Review 42:The Douglas is extremely conveniently located just down a flight ofstairs from the tram/RER station serving the village of Puteaux, which means it's a stop away from La Defense and only minutes fromParis. But it's a really quiet place to stay. It's exactly whatyou need in a typical European hotel. And the staff is extremely nice--very patient with halting American attempts at French. Breakfast isContinental and just right, though you have to be a bit flexible aboutwhat you expect for coffee: the machine in the lobby/breakfast roomis a Nescafe automatic maker, which isn't my favorite. Butthat's not even a minor annoyance. Great place.
Review 43:If you don’t mind to have a bedroom of the size of an olive (but big enough to squeeze a bed, desk , shower and toilet) – then this is the perfect place!!! The staff is great! Friendly and always available to help you out, whether you have questions or to cheat-chatting for a bit. The hotel/bedroom is spotless and you can really see that has been cleaned and aired. If you are lucky enough with your bedroom direction you can even have a glimpse of the portentous Eiffel tower (though a bit far away - but wait until the night falls and you will see all its splendor). The breakfast is not made for Kings and Queens but it will keep you comfortable enough until your next meal (You have to try the “baguette”)! In the surroundings you’ll find plenty of restaurants and ATM machines and it’s really close to the Train Station/Metro (do not attempt to walk to the city center, as it will take you more than 1h to get there. Believe me I tried!). The neighborhood is quiet and "fresh" (just like the hotel and bedroom). Having this said, I would totally recommend this hotel.
Review 44:Advertised as having private parking but only on street parkingavailable and we had a trailer to tow! Breakfast a bit limited but ok.
Review 45:Great location with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Rooms small but welldesigned and comfortable. Puteaux has a lovely "city village"type atmosphere but eating at night was limited.
Review 46:Overall, very bad customer experience - not fair sale; Photos on the website don't reflect the reality of the standing. The level of comfort of my bedroom was very low : very old and small bathroom (40 years), mould in the shower, musty smell in the bedroom, ...And the reception staff is not fair about recognizing this difference of standing between website and reality... due to the renovation process which is not yet achieved in this hotel ...
Review 47:Location of the hotel
Review 48:Bathroom had no door, so smell from toilet was in the room itself
Review 49:Room was very, very small but good and clean. Great view on the Eiffeltower. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.
Review 50:I rate the comfort as good and not excellent because there is no place to open the suitcase, but on the bed. But that's not very important for a short business trip.
Review 51:*Very* friendly & flexible people at reception. Design is nice and everything is very neat. Utilisation of space in the room is optimized, so even being pretty small you don't feel "trapped". Surprisingly, very quiet (good soundproofing ?)
Review 52:The breakfast is expensive and there are not restaurants near to the hotel.
Review 53:The hotel is clean and the staff are very nice.
Review 54:WiFi reception in bedrooms wasn't very good
Review 55:Quiet street. View of the Eiffel Tower.
Review 56:terrible wi-fi and no air conditioning in boiling hot weather, breakfast was way overpriced.
Review 57:good location, clean and modern
Review 58:Room decor a bit shabby
Review 59:Small friendly hotel
Review 60:Very small bathroom.
Review 61:At 8 E, breakfast was a little expensive, I thought.
Review 62:ease of access to the train station grocery stores in the area
Review 63:Price of the breakfast Price of the coffee Price of the wi-fi Price of the parking
Review 64:The neighborhood
Review 65:Very close to Puteaux station and connections to centre of Paris but in an area with its own character and interesting bars and restaurants
Review 66:Location, everything was clean.
Review 67:Convenient for family gathering but , for those visiting Paris, abrilliant location to travel easily into the centre.
Review 68:Comfort and cleanless plus location
