Reviews for The Swan Inn
Review 1:IT WAS NOT A BAD EXPERIENCE BUT THE ROOM WE HAD WAS OVER THE SIDE ENTRANCE DOOR AND THE SMOKING AREA OF THE PUB. THIS MEANT THAT UNTIL CLOSING THE CUSTOMERS WERE OUTSIDE SMOKING, DRINKING, AND TALKING AND THIS DID NOT HELP SLEEPING. THIS AREA SHOULD NOT BE USED AND ANOTHER AREA SHOULD BE FOUND FOR SMOKING.
Review 2:THE OVERALL AMBIENCE INCLUDING THE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF. A NICE TOUCH WAS THE FOOD ON THE LANDING AT NIGHT AND THE TIN OF CHOCOLATES AS A GIFT ON THE BED.
Review 3:The pub/hotel was warm and comfortable, location was great and the majority of the staff were very friendly and lovely to talk to. The cooking was fabulous, good british cuisine which when it is good is fantastic.
Review 4:The rooms were comfortable and spotless with every practical need anticipated. The staff were friendly and pleased to be helpful. Excellent, plentiful breakfast.
Review 5:The double room was comfortable but the single room occupied by our friend travelling with us was claustrophobic.
Review 6:The location which we know well over some 25 years. the present owners are obviously working hard to bring the establishment up to a higher standard.
Review 7:Decor very tired. Needs a total refurb. En suite was not clean and the kettle in the room was old and dirty, plastic had perished.
Review 8:Friendly staff and great location
Review 9:breakfast was not good. were not asked if everything was ok or offered more tea or toast. tables were old and sticky the bar area was smelly bed was lumpy the premises were tired looking
Review 10:leaving
Review 11:First impressions of the hotel "entrance" tho the restaurant/bar area it was shabby with a dirty carpet. My room was damp smelling with mould on the window frame. The drain pipe outside was broken and as it rained overnight I was kept awake by the sound of the water hitting the flat roof outside. The food did not live up to expectation. I had quite an early evening meal which was spoiled by burnt food residue from food previously cooked on the grill. On the plus side my breakfast was OK .
Review 12:Room wasn't as stated ie:- "a deluxe double, Large bed, king size", it was only 4'6" and very uncomfortable. The room was small and every surface was covered in dust. The dressing table and bedside units were just pieces of wood screwed to the wall!! £110 pn was just too much!
Review 13:The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was ok.. The area was beautiful.
Review 14:We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect and only a short stroll from the station. Louise was an excellent host and really went above and beyond to assist us.
Review 15:See across. It's an ordinary pub with rooms above, no reception, an alleyway to get to the stairs. Rooms very tired,en suite needs a deep clean - very much below what we were expecting, and therefore very overpriced at £120.
Review 16:Not very much really - not many positives to mention. Really disappointed - expected much better!!
Review 17:Nothing really wrong with it, we just thought it would be more like a hotel instead of a pub with rooms.
Review 18:Moreton was a picturesque little town with plenty of walks nearby.
Review 19:I felt the communal area for guest entrance and exit were tired and not particularly clean. the carpets are old, but a good clean would have helped. Also keeping the wash up area tidier would have helped. I had to ask for a single chair to sit on - a 3-legged stool was not particularly comfortable in the single room. Still expensive for a single room, but at least I got one.
Review 20:Breakfast was good.
Review 21:Wifi access very poor. Not good value for money.
Review 22:All as advertised (eg free toiletries/tea & coffee making facilities in room, hairdryer). Evening meal superb. Breakfast very good.
Review 23:The shower was too hot and couldn't control the temperature. Wifi was not so fast and stable.
Review 24:The room was so lovely, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast is good and various. The staff was helpful.
Review 25:Road outside hotel constantly busy, very noisy most of the time as old building so thin single glazing.
Review 26:lovely room with bay window, a stool and a chair were also in the room so we could sit and watch the world go by.
Review 27:The barman who checked me in was rude, verging on aggressive and made me feel very awkward/uncomfortable. I stayed in the single room (number 8) which was nothing more than a shoebox.
Review 28:The entry to the upstairs to the rooms is through the back corrider past the bar, and no lift so pack light. Not a problem if you are looking for a bed for the night not a luxury hotel
Review 29:It was a very convenient and clean basic room, with friendly service. AlI I needed on my travels. Good value and I would use again
Review 30:The entry to the accommodation was behind the bar near the toilets and the carpet was filthy and toilets smelled :( The bed was lumpy , I could feel the springs, it needed a mattress cover/protector on it.
Review 31:The location was great, close to the Cotswold villages...
Review 32:Room was quite small for the price charged and the en suite but we were only stopping for one night .
Review 33:The staff were friendly and the food we had was good.
Review 34:The noise from the pub downstair at late night though it's not too disturbing.
Review 35:The room is well decorated in a quite contained space. The facilities are very clean and new. FYI, there are no elevator.
Review 36:Nothing.
Review 37:The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the selection of beers is really good. but in my view, the food takes top honours, as I had the mixed grill, and it was without doubt the tastiest grill I have ever had, (and very filling)!
Review 38:The whole thing! Never again it's not safe.
Review 39:Nothing. Owner horrible and blamed for being attacked by locals who were thugs. Avoid at all costs. This place has trouble every week according to the local people.
Review 40:It was quite noisy with music and conversations overnight, and my window didn't fully close so it was louder when there were people outside. But obviously this was on a high street Inn on a Friday night, so sort of expected.
Review 41:Friendly and accommodating staff, cosy and homely room, great location.
Review 42:The room advertised a seating area, however I don't consider 1 padded stool & 1 very low chair & no coffee table as a seating area. From neither seat could you view TV. As mature people we don't do "sitting cross legged on the bed". We appreciate the room was small but feel the 2 bedside cabinets were a waste of space as the drawers were minute & there were no other drawers in the room. The loo seat was loose, I did report it but nothing was done for the following day. Although a pub & not an hotel & therefore no proper reception area, we were confused as to where to sign in & the young lady who attended to us was not very welcoming. All other staff seemed fine.
Review 43:The breakfast was very good & piping hot & served by a very pleasant young man.
Review 44:Rooms were comfortable but more attention needed to cleaning. Having booked a meal in the restaurant area, had to wait 25 minutes before being shown a menu, the service thereafter was non existent.
Review 45:Nothing to dislike
Review 46:Location is excellent for exploring the town and Cotswolds area. Room was clean and well set out. Breakfast was lovely with local produce.
Review 47:Nothing
Review 48:Everyone was so friendly. They went out of their way to make you feel at home. Breakfast was really good. The room has obviously been decorated recently. The location is superb
Review 49:the attitude of the staff is horrific. They use booking.com to win "one-off" trade, they certainly have no internation of securing repeat business. Such a shame, given the beautiful location of Moreton. Similar to the service, the Inn itself has been stripped of all character...now resembles a youth club.
Review 50:The wifi was only free for 30 minutes, which was not advertised as such. The room was boiling and no thermostat so had to have the window open, so a lot of noise from the pub and guttering blocked so it sounded like there was a waterfall in the room when it rained. So not a brilliant nights sleep. I was in the single room number 8, quite expensive for a single bed for the night but I suppose that reflects the area.
Review 51:Location and breakfast were excellent, really good coffee. Would stay again.
Review 52:Daughter had to come to our room for a shower as hers was blocked and over flowed on to floor as the plughole was blocked with hair and debris, not very nice, on close inspection the shower was dirty as was the one in our room, also mould on carpet in our room and on window frames, also quite a lot of dust in the rooms,
Review 53:location great, food nice
Review 54:Noise from the bar intrudes. No electric razor point in single room. Non-secure parking space.
Review 55:Friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent dinner (good range of choice on the menu and well cooked). Buffet style breakfast - but good hot choice.
Review 56:If I'm honest, I thought the bed was too soft - at first I thought it was a waterbed!! But really that was all.
Review 57:Staff and value for money both first class. Ample free car parking very close at hand was also a bonus
Review 58:Early start & therefore no breakfast. Above a pub. Interior of the place was tired & worn. Bedroom OK & nice bathroom. Staff need to go on a customer service training course.
Review 59:Location in town
Review 60:Nice room however the central heating wasn't working making the room very cold and using the bathroom uncomfortable, portable heater supplied useless.
Review 61:Not being able to get a drink from the bar after 10.30. I asked if we could sit at the window table for breakfast rather than the table in the corner which had been set for us and the lady audibly sighed. Did not then wipe down window table which we sat up. Poor service
Review 62:Bedrooms comfortable and clean
Review 63:The room was supposed to be De Lux but the carpet was dirty and paint peeling off wall in bathroom. We were supposed to have a DVD player a radio and an alarm clock. None of these things were provided. I had to ask for the hair dryer. The dining room was bare and not very comfortable or inviting. V. disappointed as this was a surprise stay for my husband's birthday!
Review 64:I loved the comfortable double bed. I loved the location. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
Review 65:The bars and ground floor entrance to accommodation was rather tired and in need of a good spruce up. The bathroom decoration required a little more attention to finishing in some areas.
Review 66:The bedroom was comfortable and clean. The Bar food was good. Staff were very helpful and very courteous.
Review 67:It's a bit too cold during the night.
Review 68:Definitely a favourite of mine! Easy to access, friendly staff, comfy bed, nice bathroom... what more can I ask? Thank you, The Swan Inn!
Review 69:Parking by the bins, the down stairs, is a typical village pub, was not told this, smell of frying when we arrived, food very good.
Review 70:The village is gorgeous at this time of year. The frost in the morning made it so worth while. The accomodation up stairs was very good. Would stay again.
Review 71:Bathroom,mouth wash glass had not been changed, shower curtain dirty on base, window not openable and covered in black mould.
Review 72:Near to centre of town. Staff friendly.
Review 73:Unfortunately it rained loads of it Still the area was welcoming
Review 74:The Swan is a Pub offering B£B. Our room was very clean but more than that the bed was so comfortable and warm Breakfast was well cooked and presented.plus a good variety of Cereals Fruit juices and yoghurts to start the day.Nice friendly Staff. It is a working Pub not an Hotel.
Review 75:Felt (first impression"-looked " scruffy"Could do with the back area of the premesies s tidied up; but bedroom was excellent so overall it is a Pub ; looks as such and does not pretend to be anything else let alone first class hotel! We enjoyed our stay
Review 76:Central Location Friendly helpful staff Atmosphere Good food
Review 77:Parking spaces are limited, but the on road parking is free. Small bathroom - I would expect more for the price. The kettle was too big to fill from the tiny sink. Bedroom window would not close - apparently work in progress. Breakfast was served on cold plates.
Review 78:Nice central location. Room was cosy but small. Busy / popular pub and restaurant.
Review 79:Very strong smell (peat?), probably from kitchen below flat roof outside window. An air freshener would not go amiss. Single glazed window - could be draughty in winter?
Review 80:Very comfy bed Great shower Basic but clean
Review 81:The room was lovely - clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Lovely bright well equipped bathroom with strong, hot shower. The food was just great - freshly cooked and delicious with really great menu. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Review 82:They had a problem with the room that was left and had to provide me with an alternative place (The Bells) The management apologised i however think that i should have had prior warning . Booking .com also quoted the wrong cost for the accommodation.
Review 83:Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Service was prompt and they offered to go the extra mile by dropping me off at the fire college on both days.
Review 84:No shower mat made it quite dangerous. A little grubby in places eg window frames, top of wardrobe but not where it mattered.
Review 85:Comfortable. Helpful staff and good breakfast. Well equipped bathroom.
Review 86:Limited car parking adjacent to accommodation. Wi-fi was hit and miss
Review 87:Cheerful and helpful staff from owners to cleaners. Good quality food and plenty of it. Simple, clean accommodation with all the facilities you require for a short break.
Review 88:If I was to be picky in the extreme, I think that there was a tiny bit of mildew on the grout in the shower.
Review 89:They were very nice indeed.
Review 90:店里人都特别棒。早餐很好吃。
Review 91:n/a
Review 92:Breakfasts and evening meals were all home cooked and excellent. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were all very friendly
Review 93:Room a little small for size of bed
Review 94:Location for us was perfect
Review 95:Clean, convenient, welcoming, easy parking
Review 96:The comfort of the room and bed
Review 97:staff were friendly and approachable, food was excellent but would say top end pub rather than restaurant certainly in style
Review 98:Modern, stylish bathroom, comfortable room; generous and high quality breakfast
Review 99:Room very clean and very pleasent staff
Review 100:Perfectly adequate rooms with everything you need above a good pub. I'd recommend it.
Review 101:The location was excellent for accessing the town and its restaurants and bars on an evening stay.
Review 102:Couldn't fault anything.
Review 103:My room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was brilliant too!
Review 104:Would have scored higher if had a bath prefer baths to showers , £75 and no bath oops
Review 105:Location.
Review 106:Clean
Review 107:The proprietor was extremely pleasant nd helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
Review 108:Clean. Tidy. Lovely food. Really nice room.
Review 109:Room rate is too expensive for what you get. Stairs and upstairs areas could do with a good clean.
Review 110:Small bedroom and tiny bathroom, poor value for money. Poorly cleaned surfaces in public rooms.
Review 111:Well cooked breakfast.
Review 112:No screen on bathroom window. About 8 pigeons roosting on roof near window. I was afraid one would fly in-it didn't.
Review 113:Location
Review 114:Cleanliness needs attention - our room had dead and alive bugs, a dirty tissue and suspicious stains in the bathroom.
Review 115:Breakfast was ok.
Review 116:Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Well located in cente of Moreton which is a market town - so expect some traffic noise
Review 117:Cost was average average for quality of room and facilities
Review 118:Central location for touring the area
Review 119:A real mug in room to make a cup of tea
Review 120:Thought the room was overpriced for what was essentially a pub
Review 121:Breakfast was wonderful and the room was a good size and comfortable
Review 122:Friendly place, great location.
Review 123:Busy intersection so lots of traffic noise
Review 124:Good location and easy to find.
Review 125:Location & lovely breakfast!
