Reviews for B&B Rafters

Review 1:Everything, friendly welcome and help with luggage, comfortable bed, beautiful breakfast, all together a very pleasant visit, would highly recommend it and would certainly book there again.

Review 2:Spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Fresh tea leaves, fresh milk, a teapot and decent china in the bedroom and a delicious breakfast in the morning. Very obliging hostess.

Review 3:Would have been nicer to get an earlier check in but regardless thanks for the flexibility.

Review 4:Really nice Decor and great breakfast. The property is beautiful.

Review 5:Problems with water facilities though this was not due to the landlady but caused by building works being done across the road.

Review 6:The landlady was an absolute perfect hostess, catered for every need. Nothing was too much trouble.

Review 7:The wifi wasn't working due to some issues they have had with the local provider while trying to get fibre optic broadband. Sigrid offered a special mobile hotspot device in case I needed to connect. She was very accommodating.

Review 8:The bed was extremely comfortable, there were many personal details that made it feel special (lovely decanter of filtered water, magazines to read, radio, iphone plugin, etc.) and the design was very efficient for the space. Sigrid was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was perfect. Would definitely come again.

Review 9:Not so much what I didn't like but it would be nice if there was a discount for staying 3 nights or more .

Review 10:Beautiful room and surrounding gardens. Lovely hospitality.

Review 11:Wonderful place with very modern convenience and delicious breakfast accompanied by the most cordial service. I hope to be able to stay at B & B Rafters again.

Review 12:It was my first ever stay at a bed and breakfast and was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the room was and it was excellent value for money Sigfrid the host was very accommodating and helpful and the freshly cooked breakfast was excellent.

Review 13:Wasn't asked about diet requirements for breakfast and didn't feel comfortable to ask. I am both lactose and gluten intolerant

Review 14:Looks fab, clean & tidy. Polite staff

Review 15:The property was situated just of a busy road and a little noise even with the windows shut. We were concerned about the use of an extension block to supply power to a number of electrical gadgets. The kettle was situated on a low shelf this would have be safer on the desk/dressing unit at waist height, perhaps on a tray?

Review 16:Rafters was easy to find, beautifully designed, lovely and clean. A deer walking through the garden first thing in the morning was delightful. There was a lovely choice for breakfast.

Review 17:For me the bed was too soft.

Review 18:I was in the rear of this excellent property, so it was quiet, apart from the wildlife which I'm used to and a lovely garden view. Good facilities everything you could need!

Review 19:Nothing to complain about at Rafters itself. Marcham village is a bit of a non-place though, if you want any sort of evening entertainment then head into nearby Abingdon instead.

Review 20:The single room (at the back of the building) was comfortable, quiet, modern, well-equipped and clean, if not over-large. The owner is friendly and helpful, provides a good choice at breakfast. Rafters is excellent value IMO, makes a good base for business or touring, would stay there again.

Review 21:Facilities Free wifi Personal touches E.G. pot of tea on arrival, homemade breads, excellent slection at breakfast. Run by a lady from Germanywho has managed to mix both uk and Continental styles which effectivelymakes this B&B stand out from the crowd

Review 22:I liked everything

Review 23:The bed was very comfortable, the owner couldn't have been more helpful, the room was superb, the balcony lovely and every little detail had been totally thought through

Review 24:I cannot rate this B&B highly enough lovely place and lovely people 10/10 in my opinion I will deffinately stay again when I'm next in the area.

Review 25:Bed was a little on the firm side but more of a minor quibble than an issue. As a side note the local pub didn't take cards.

Review 26:Very nice room, good location, great staff and a stunning breakfast.

Review 27:All I'd say is the location is a little out of town but if you have a car that really isn't a problem.

Review 28:Really enjoyed my stay at Rafters. The owner is friendly but leaves you to get on and the breakfast is delicious with great choices. It's really clean and very comfy.

Review 29:Can't think of any.

Review 30:Lovely accommodation and really friendly service. The room and bathroom are modern, clean and very well catered for. Superb breakfast made to order.

Review 31:These are very minor negative points: I found the largest towels in the rooms were not big enough. Only a few sachets of sugar in the rooms and not enough tea and coffee. ( Although at breakfast plenty of filter coffee ) The DVD players didn't work in either of the rooms. ( Although she did her best to try to sort them out ) As I said very minor points. Overall though a lovely place to stay.

Review 32:Lovely friendly lady runs it. Clean, tidy and comfortable facilities. Excellent breakfast.

Review 33:In short: nothing In details: nothing at all

Review 34:In short: everything In details: the extremely friendly, helpful landlady; the decor of the rooms, including small details that make the atmosphere and make the room unique, well above average tea and coffeee making facilities, rain shower in the batrhroom, liquid soap and hand lotion, the "green" philosophy of the place, very kind and sometimes humoorous notes, a two-page breakfast menu, the fresh and home-made breakfast and I could go on. I requested a late check-in, which was accepted and when in the morning we could not order a taxi the landlady took me and another guest to the Heathrow bus stop in Oxford. The B&B is a bit far from the town but that there are so many pluses that make up for it that I gave 'excellent' for the location as well.

Review 35:The whole experience. The room was lovely. We have stayed there before as we have family in the area would definitely go back, the breakfasts are fantastic.

Review 36:Heavy traffic on main road made it difficult to get in and out Nowhere to eat in Marcham on a Sunday evening Dubious about hitech bed

Review 37:Internal décor Interesting bathroom WiFi Breakfast Bedroom quiet

Review 38:Impressive rooms that are well designed in a contemporary style. Attention to detail in the rooms, with everything you could need. Really good cooked breakfast.

Review 39:Nothing

Review 40:welcoming personal service, good standard of accommodation, very clean, good bed, awesome shower, good WiFi and even though i had room next to the road, the double glazing was excellent slept very well, good flat tv, breakfast had plenty to choose and was cooked with skill and was perfect, just an overall good experience, sorry I could not stay longer. The owner even makes her own bread and jams and all very delicious.

Review 41:Everything about Rafters was classy. Top quality fixtures and fittings and very contemporary. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone.

Review 42:The facilities was as near faultless as a hotel could have been and waspreferable to others I have stayed at. I will return! Having to do thisreview twice!!

Review 43:All the facilities were the best and in many respects better than nearbyhotels costing much more. Very friendly and helpful proprietor Only toohappy to fully recommend this establishment

Review 44:Very modern and comfortable accommodation. Local produce used for cooked breakfast plus home made bread & jams (recommend the damson jam). Within working distance of Denman College.

Review 45:I liked the room, very comfortable and modern. Luxury shower and a wonderful eggs benedict for breakfast. They even did a great vegetarian breakfast for my husband which included halloumi! All in all a great B&B with very attentive and welcoming staff. They even provide ear plugs and soothing tea just in case you find the traffic noisy at night. Which we didn't at all!

Review 46:We did not stay there sooner or longer during our trip.

Review 47:The room. Marvelous. The bath. Stunning. Breakfast. Locally sourced, delicious! The host. A gem!

Review 48:Do not be put off by the outside of the property which is undergoing building work The interior is spotless with everything that you need supplied The owner is friendly and extremely helpful I asked for porridge the night before and it was the best i have ever tasted I have recommended this establishment to my friends

Review 49:Difficult to think. Nope. It was all good!!!!

Review 50:What a delightful B&B. I think the owners should seriously think about going into the boutique hotel trade (if they aren't already). This place was stellar. Rooms incredibly clean. Everything you needed in there. Quiet. And so on......However, the breakfast is a must see!! The taxi driver who took me there even mentioned it. Probably the best breakfast I have had in years. Everything either locally sourced or home made. The eggs benedict was heaven.

Review 51:Unfortunately we live in a very quiet area with no traffic and this property is situated very close to a main road with a lot of traffic. Not a problem for most people, though.

Review 52:We had a short but wonderfully welcoming stay with a simply excellent breakfast.

Review 53:I think £119 is a little steep. Ear plugs were provided because of the noisy road. However the TV noise from downstairs was far more intrusive.

Review 54:Quality of the room. Particularly stunning bathroom. Beautiful bed linen, lovely breakfast. Lovely greeting on arrival. Although she wasn't the owner, she was a credit to them.

Review 55:Unfortunately the unusually hot temperatures for this summer made a B&B stay more uncomfortable at night due to a lack of air conditioning. A hotel might have been better at that time.

Review 56:Was pleasantly surprised how modern this B&B was (especially the bathroom facilities) and the ease of finding it - ideally situated for Abingdon and Oxford.

Review 57:This B&B was a lovely interlude. Admittingly it is a long way out of Oxford and with the city's nightmare traffic the daily commute in is difficult but as a restful and modern with that extra star quality it is great. Lovely pubs and restaurants a few minutes away.

Review 58:Very easy to find and a friendly, warm welcome. The room was finished to a high standard and very clean. The breakfast was delicious. The snack tray and mini drinks fridge with an honesty box was a nice touch as was the bookcase with a selection of books and DVDs to borrow during your stay. Would definitely stay again.

Review 59:Nothing, all good.
